Backing Tracks for Tenor Saxophone

Dear friends from Apple Communities.
I am looking for Backing Tracks of songs for Tenor Saxophone.
Yesterday, I was watching some tenor saxophone soloist in the YouTube, and after a presentation from one saxophonist, at the end of the song, he had wrote that the Backing Track was purchased from "iTunes", but didn't gave more information about.
I tried to find Backing Tracks in iTunes, but I didn't have success; nothing have appeared.
Then, if someone knows anything about my search, please, let me know, once I need to have these backing tracks for play my tenor sax along with these songs. I will appreciate some comments about.
Thanks a lot for your help.
Best regards,
Kyoto2014

Hello ed2345,
Thanks for the good tip.
Indeed the site it's very nice about karaoke, but as the Tenor Saxophone plays with a particular key in the instrument (Bb), any song needs to be played with this same key. For example, the piano, guitar, etc. plays in the key C, the Alto Saxophone plays in the key Eb, and so on.
Then, there are many beautiful songs in the site that you gave me, but unfortunately none specific to tenor sax.
Maybe, using a good time from me, I could open some song that I have liked, and I should try to play along with this song, in order to see if the backing track would has the same key as my tenor sax.
However, I  really have appreciated your concern and your time to write to me giving me a way to find some backing track for my sax.
Again thanks so much for your help. The World forsooth, needs people like you and the friend "hhgttg27" that always giving a time for help others.
Cheers,
Kyoto

  • I use the iPad to play backing tracks for my work. I need separate playlist and then to be able to select album just within that so I can play one track at a time. iOS 5 has clumped all my music together and I can no longer do this in playlist. WHY?

To be honest I don't need a lot of people commenting on this.  I need Apple to comment because too many people have complained and they seem not to give a stuff.  So will I be buying an Apple iPad 2 or 3? NOOOOOO!  I suppose the only way is to protest with what I buy and sadly it won't be Apple.

This is a user-to-user forum. Apple does not respond to posts here. You can give Apple your feedback on the Feedback page:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback
They don't respond directly there, either. And once you post something here, people will comment as they see fit, regardless of what you originally hoped for. That's just the way it is with a public forum.
Try Groove for iPad. People seem to think it's a great replacement to the previous music app.

  • How do i load a set of backing tracks

I'm brand new to Mainstage and I'm sure the question has been asked before but I want to put my band's backing tracks in a set. I've seen how it should look, but I haven't found exactly how to di it. I have WAV files ready to go. Just need the how to, to make the set and connect them to each track.

    Hi
    Crucial questions here:
    1) How many backing tracks for each "Song"... 1 (mix) or separate tracks for different instruments/stems?
    2) How do you want to organise the MS Cocert: A "Song as a Set, with Patches for different sounds, or simply a Patch for each 'Song"?
    3) How much info do you need to see in the Performance view, and how much control will you need? You may need to setup Screen Controls for the Playbacks.
Basically, all you need to do is drag the audio files onto the Channel Strip area, and MS will make the Playback channels for you.
You may want to take a look at the various Playback templates to get some ideas.

  • Backing Tracks - Where can I find them...

Just getting into recording guitar on computer. I have Logic Pro 9.
What I want to do is simply find backing tracks for songs I like and play along.
For example, where can I find bass and drum tracks for lets say some Godsmack songs that I can use with in Logic?
I simply want to play along with whatever Im in the mood for and record....
I know this is a noob question, but I'm becoming really aggravated trying to find out HOW to do this and WHERE I can find the "backing tracks"....
    Any advice is greatly appreciated.
    Thank you

You have Logic. You need midi files you can edit, not karaoke mp3s. Sure, there are millions of free midi files on the web, but most of them are really bad and will require you to spend a lot of time editing. At least you'll get good at editing midi information. If you don't mind spending a few dollars to get excellent files try: http://www.hittrax.com.au/
I also recommend that you get Band-in-a-Box from PG Music. It writes cheesy midi files that you can import to Logic and make sound good. Great for jamming and practicing.

  • I want to create a backing track in GB '09--how to change chords?

I want to create a backing track for a song I've written.   I want to use all software instruments--drums, bass, strings, guitar. (It's akin to a disco/Philadelphia sound fmor the early/mid-70s.)  The idea is that this will be playing over a sound system while I sing the song live in a performance.
I have figured out how to use the instrument loops as well as establish the key and the tempo.   At this point, though, I don't know how to get the guitar/bass/strings to change the chords.   For example, I start in Bb minor for two measures, then got to F7 for two measures, back to Bb minor for two measures, and then A diminished for two measures.  Can anyone give me guidance as to how to plunk in these chords?   Thanks.

At this point, though, I don't know how to get the guitar/bass/strings to change the chords.
A basic chord progression can be done by transposing a copy of the loop using "pitch" slider in the Track Editor. For example, setting the Pitch slider to "-3" will transpose the selected loop down three half note steps. To go from Bb to F set the slider to "-5". The loop browser can beset to show only major or minor chords in the "Scale" pop-up menu.
Only, to add a seventh or to make a chord "diminished", transposition alone will not suffice. In this case it is best to use software instrument loops, where you can shift the individual notes in the Track Editor or add a seventh note, like below, with an "A"  added to the basic Bb major. For "A diminished" lower the top note by two half steps and transpose by +2 half note steps.

  • I use i-tunes for backing tracks with an acoustic band...how can I get a playlist to play one song at a time and not go to the next one until I manually select it?

I use i-tunes for backing tracks. How can I set up a play list to play only one song at a time and not go to the next one until I manually select it?
    Thanks

Uncheck all the songs in the playlist. iTunes will then play one song and stop.

  • Hi, I'm planning on using Mainstage 3 for performing live and I wanted to know how to add my Logic Pro backing tracks into it and have automated vocal effects that trigger while I'm singing.  How do I do this?

I have a mic hooked up through an interface and I'd like to open up my backing tracks then figure out what vocal effect sound good on what places during the song, then I want to have those automatically trigger while I'm singing and performing.  Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.  Thanks.

  • How to set up Multiple Playback tracks for a "Set" or "Concert"?

Hey Gang...so I'm venturing into MS2(2.2.1) now and have a feeling I just need some help understanding the building blocks.  Here is what I'm trying to do:
I want to set up a concert for solo gigs where I basically will perform saxophone along with backing tracks (audio).  On some tunes I use an EWI, and on others I use different saxes (EQed diff, with diff EFX, so on).  SO, I want to create "patches" for each song, and have that "patch" contain the midi sound (for EWI) or settings for the diff saxes.
Here is the important part:  I also need each individual "patch" to playback a different back-track.
I have started all this with the tune "Summer Madness", and here is the problem:  When I switch to a new "patch", I still get Summer Madness.  If I load a different BT into playback, that track is then "universal" through ALL "patches".  It must be something simple, but what am I missing?  Do I have to create multiple channel strips with the playback plugin loaded (seems awefully designed, and a waste of resources?) and assign DIFFERENT controller buttons (or whatever) to playback different tracks? (again, aweful, and a complete waste of midi controller real estate).
If I have explained all that poorly, my appologies.  I just am hoping MS2 has a way of "auto-loading" a new BT everytime I switch to a new "patch".  I cannot seem to figure this one out.  Any help is greatly appreciated!
    Thanks.

    Hi
Depending on your needs, you may find that Set level offers the best approach:
Within a Set you have the Playbacks (Set Level, so they work for the entire set) with individual patches in the set "live" for the EWI etc as needed.
You need only map one set of controls for all the Playbacks since only 1 set can run at a time.

  • How do I get more than one song with a backing track in a concert?

Hi,I confess I haven't yet looked in depth at the manual but I cant work out why there is only one song available at any one time within a concert.
I am trying to put a set of songs together, some with backing tracks, some with just a piano and vox  and some with guitar and vox.
Is there a quick answer to this?
    Cheers.

    Hi
Not sure about how quick, but...
Create Patches for each song with the necessary Playback Channels at Patch level (this will allow you to only use 1 MS patch within each "Song"
    or
Create Playback channels at Set level for each song, with the Patches you need inside the Set.

  • As a musician using backing tracks how do I arrange a pause (until I can switch off or choose another track) between tracks?

As a musician and having purchased backing tracks from iTunes, I want to arrange my backing tracks so there is a stop (not fade) at the end of each track. At the moment the next track starts before I am ready, or before I can choose what I want to play. Is there a way of doing this for purchased backing tracks, but all other tracks in my music library on my IPod Nano remain unaffected?

I can't think of a way to do it using iTunes, and I'm pretty sure you can't configure the length of the gap between songs on the iPod itself. Quite frankly if it was me, I'd do it the way I suggested above.
It's easy to make a silent mp3 file using something like Audacity, which is a free download.  Alternatively, a quick google search turned up this:

guess what it says java file. So yes i'm sure. Sarcasm. Not the best way to encourage a total stranger to help you. Then there's
Sorry if i wasn't more clear but was that response needed? No it wasn't needed, but I'm not the one asking for help so I have the luxury of not worrying too much about it. It's extremely frustrating trying to drag relevant information out of someone, and makes one less inclined to bother.
Anyways, there's still nothing in this thread that actually explicitly says "there is a file called VolcanoApp.java in the directory where I'm running javac from" and I really can't be bothered banging my head against the wall any longer. You've made a silly mistake, or a false assumption. We all do it from time to time. My advice is, take a break, go for a walk and re-visit this in a while. You'll probably spot the mistake right away.

  • Set default audio track for playback in Source monitor

So I'm an editor that is somewhat new to the profession and I am working on a project right now with close to 100 video clips in my project. Most of the clips have their audio recorded to track 2 but when I load the clips into the source window to find the footage asked for in my script there is no audio playback.
They play fine in the program monitor once placed in a timeline, because I have all the audio tracks are turned on until I do my mastering at the end of the project. To get audio playback in the source monitor I have to change the view option to audio waveform which shows a blank screen because there is no audio on track. I then go to the drop-down menu just below the video display and select track 2 at which point the audio waveform shows up and plays back fine. This isn't too arduous a process and isn't a great burden but it slows my workflow down considerably as I have to repeat the process for each new clip I load into the source monitor.
My question then is if there is anywhere in Premiere that I can set which audio track is the default audio playback track for clips loaded in the source monitor. I work on a lot of similar projects like this for the same client and they don't have the most rigorous standards for their shooters. This problem has come up before and will most assuredly arise again in the future so any tips/advice on how to fix this on my end would be much appreciated.
    Thanks!

I'm not really sure.I don't do any shooting for the client and in fact don't have any contact with the shooters, we just do the post. They use a number of different freelance videographers all of whom have different equipment and procedures when it comes to formatting, orginization, etc.

  • Making click track for drums, help needed!

Hello, newbie here.  I don't have that much experience with Logic and am using Logic 8.  Our band is making a backing track with midi bass panned one way and metronome click the other for our drummer.  My keyboardist managed to programme the metronome to change because we have lots of time signature changes mid song.  We've got all that working fine but our drummer is struggling to hear the click tone.  I could make an audio track with a cowbell sound but it would take ages and we've got the metronome doing what we want it to.  So...would ideally like the metronome click to be changed to a cowbell.  I've managed to change it from Klopfgeist to garage band drum kit but it only does a tinkly bell sound and then a whistle.  There doesn't seem to be an interface for it where I can change to a different drum percussion sound.  I've got Battery 3 and libraries.  I've tried loading this in the box below I/O but i then lose the metronome click altogether on playback.  Any ideas?  I've attached a couple of screenshots...
    Cheers

you could also just not use the metronome at all. My default is an instrument track with hihats. If you load an intrument (like maybe ultra beat, or an EXS drumkit) then use the pencil tool to creat a region on a MIDI track, you could double-click the region and draw the notes on whatever beats, with whatever instruments. If you want to preview sounds, just hit your keyboard controller until you find what you like. The transport will show what note it is. Or the little keyboard on the left side in the editor. Edit the MIDI region to taste.
Or... if you're not comfortable with the editing, just load an instrument, find the sounds you like, then record a couple of bars of how you want your click, then quantize to the smallest note value you have in your click. (usually 8th, sometimes 16th depending on the complexity of the click you've created.)
