Backing up a recently lost 3G Touch onto my new account
I have a 32G third generation Ipod, which I thought I lost 3 months ago, and just found again yesterday. It has 20G of music on it and because I thought I had lost it I bought a 16G Iphone and have replaced 14G of music on the Iphone. The trouble is after I lost my Ipod my computer had to be rebuilt soon after and I had to start again. As my Ipod has more memory than my Iphone I want to use my Ipod as my main music source but when i connect it to Itunes it wants to wipe out whats's on there and install what is on the Iphone.
How can I back up what is on the Ipod when Itunes see's my Iphone as my main device?
An itunes account is just a user name and password. You can use your account from any computer/device with itunes.
Do you mean your library ( music/apps/content)?
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your comptuer. Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If for some reason you have failed to bakcup ( not good), then you can transfer itunes purchases from an ipod/ipad/iphone: File>Transfer Purchases or you can redownload some purchases in some countries:

Providing your Apple ID is not a .me or a .Mac address, you can change it with Apple and continue to use your account.
Start here, change your country if necessary and go to manage your account.
Once who have done this you can then correct it on your mobile device.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
When you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
If however, your Apple ID was a .me or a .Mac address, then you will need to create a new account, follow the instructions above for deleting your account on your mobile device and then tap the "create Apple ID" button to create a new account. -

No you can purchase it directly from the iPod and then sync it to the computer whenever it is convenient for you

You are allowed to have two activted installations, so if the first machine is the only machine with an activated installation there is nothing prohibiting you from installing and activating on the new machine.
You can contact Adobe Support thru chat to have the old installation deactivation.

How do I sync my iPod Touch to a new account without losing playlists?
Hey, everyone. Recently, one of my computers, which I used to sync my iPod to, crashed. Luckily, my music was backed up on another computer, but the playlists, apps, etc. were not. Is there a way for me to download my playlists and such onto this new computer without deleting the music (some of which isn't currently on my iPod; the library is too large for all songs to fit on the iPod)? I'm leaving on a road trip early tomorrow morning and I'd really appreciate it if you all could help me out before then so I can have some great music for the road!

P.S. My iPod is a second-generation, and my computer is a PC with Windows XP. The version of iTunes that I have is pretty new, but my iPod hasn't been updated in a while, if that makes any difference. Problem getting songs back from lost Ipod Touch onto computer?
I lost my Ipod Touch a month ago and I download my songs of the Touch's Itune store, not on my computer. Now I lost quite a few songs and since I did not sync the new songs onto my computer, its not on my computer. Is there anyway I can get back the songs I bought through the Itunes of Ipod Touch back onto my computer's Itunes? I hope you can understand what I'm saying, its a bit confusing.
ThanksSorry, but officially Apple does not allow redownloads of purchased items other than iPhone/iPod touch applications. It's your responsibility to make backup copies in case something goes wrong with your system or your iPod is lost, as unfortunately it apparently did in your case, and you lose all your purchases. The official statement of their policy can be found here, among other places. If your hard drive was erased and you don't have a backup of your purchased items, you're probably out of luck and will need to repurchase your tracks.
You can try contacting iTunes Store Customer Service and explaining what happened. Reportedly in some cases Apple has allowed redownloading on a one-time basis. But don't count on it.

How do I transfer files from my Ipod Touch onto my new computer?
I have a 2nd Generation IPod touch, old I know, and I have just gotten a new laptop. I have not had a computer for many years and have had my ipod floating around getting music from friends and family, so there is nothing backed up anywhere. Now I am trying to transfer files into the Itunes library and it will not allow me. Has anyone ever had this problem? Please Help.

I plugged up my iPod touch to my iTunes library and it said that it couldnt recognize the iPod and the message told me to restore my iPod? Why would it prompt me to restore the factory settings? Also if I restore the iPod will it erase all of my music even though my music is in my library?
Some of my apps stopped working would this be the reason I need to restore my iPod? I am scared to restore the settings and lose all of my music.
I also put all of my apps in the utility folders, would this have anything to do with my iPod needing to be restored?Becasue something got corrupted on the iPod. It happens sometimes. Just restore the iPod to factory settings/new iPod and then try restoring from your backup.

How do i import the content on my iPod touch onto my new mac
When i connect my ipod to the computer and sync it with itunes it only transfers 31 songs out of 303. I have purchased songs as well as downloaded ones that i wish to transfer if it makes a difference.
iTunes is one way only, computer to iPod, except to transfer iTunes Store purchases.

That wouldn't be possible, the new Apple ID would have no idea about the old Apple ID. It's also a bad idea to create a new Apple ID. Content is forever tied to the Apple ID that bought it. Apple does not transfer content from one Apple ID to another. Apple does not merge Apple IDs. You will never be able to access your content bought with another Apple ID with a new Apple ID.

On my iPhone I started with an old apple ID and downloaded numerous amounts of free and paid apps over the period of using it. Since then I have now created a new ID, the old apps remain on my device but obviously they are not owned by myself anymore. Is there any service whereby I can install all the old existing apps into my new ID (obviously paying for any that cost), without having to go through each app manually and installing separately?

Even though you have created a new ID, you still own the apps under the old one (unless it was actually someone else's). To answer your question, no - there is no way to install all of the old exisiting apps under your new ID without doing each one indivdually.
However, you can download them to your iTunes library and then sync them back to your phone. First, I would suggest that you log on to your old ID under Manage your Apple ID, and change the password on your old ID to match the new ID. That way, when one of them needs to be updated, it won't matter which ID is asking for a password, becuase you would put in the same one either way.
Then:
1. Sign onto your iTunes on your computer with your old ID and make sure the ID is authorized to your iTunes Library (Store (on the Menu bar)>Authorize This Computer.
2. Then click on the iTunes Store (in the sidebar), and click on App Store.
3. Under Quick Links, click on Purchased, iPhone, Not in My Library.
4. You will see a little cloud next to each app that is not currently in your library. You can click on the individual cloud, or you can scroll to the bottom to "Download All".
5. Once you have downloaded them, you can then hook up your iPhone, and go to the Device Profile Screen for Apps, and select which ones you want on your device.
Once you have done that, you will be able to upgrade them as needed by supplying the common password that you are sharing between both IDs.

All content is tied to the account that purchased/downloaded it, and you can't copy or transfer them to other accounts - she should still be able use those apps if they are on the computer's iTunes that she syncs her iPod to.
