BAPI_BATCH_CREATE & system efficiency

I use this function module in my interface to create batches, sometimes, almost always we have to run the interface twice because the first time when we write the batchnums to the table they are blank. The second time they appear.
I have a commit and wait after each exec of the FM. Its like the system does not catch up to the processing in time, when its time to write the new batches out, maybe they are still creating them?
      Thank-You

Hi ,
I am working with the same BAPI and uploading mass data and having a similar issue with blank Batch Number getting created in ECC6.0.
I could see you have mentioned resolved, can you please let me know how the issue was resolved.

  • Industrial engineer study about Database System

Hello, i'm Industrial engineering student now. I want to ask all of you. Is valuabel if i learn about Database System in my major?

Oh i'm sorry about that. Now i'm studying Industrial Engineering in scholar Program. I live in Indonesia. As employee, Industrial engineer can improve efficiency in many aspect in the enterprise. So, is there any chance that i can improve efficiency Database System? Coz, in semester 5 i had study about Information System. On one contracting job, my boss had been an industrial engineer, so then he was a project lead. We became good friends, even though he introduced me to my wife :-) (wife's stepfather and he had worked together at an aerospace company previously). Certainly his background helped in project implementation.
As to improving database system efficiency, it is yes and no. No, you aren't likely to get into internals and compete against people with CS doctorates, but yes because applications do need an eye towards efficiency, and applications are where the money goes. As with so many things, it's the combination of technical ability and another kind of analytical ability that make you valuable to business. Business analysis goes through cycles and fads, what was once called business process reengineering will be called something else and have its gurus (just this morning I got an email about how BPM can improve my business). Just don't fall for any pie-in-the-sky internet entrepreneurs who promise to have the next SAP, go mainstream first, with at least what we in the US call a Masters degree.

  • New to PDF Portfolios - Need to Link between PDF, Word & Excel Docs

    Hello All,
Thanks in advance for your help.  I'm new to the Adobe X Pro & making portfolios.  I have figured out how to create a portfolio.  My portfolio has a main pdf document and several folders with pdf, word & excel files in them.  What I’m trying to do is link from my main document (pdf file) to the other files (word, excel & pdf) that I’ve added to the portfolio.  I’ve tried linking to a pdf file and a thumbnail of the word doc (because I did find that I can’t link to the actual word or excel doc).  When I create & test the link (for both the pdf file & the thumbnail of the word doc) it is there; I can click the link I created and it will go to the word doc.  If I close the portfolio & reopen it the link to the pdf file is there, but the link to the word doc isn’t there anymore.  That link now goes to the main pdf file and not the word thumbnail or even the folder where the word doc is saved.  Any ideas on what to do?  Thanks.

As Dave has noted you can not do this.
Acrobat/Reader would need to know what program to use to read the data in the document and since there can be many different programs that could read your document,  Acrobat/Reader would need to know exactly which program to use on one's system. You might only have MS Office but others might have both MS Office and OpenOffice.org and might prefer to use OpenOffice.org unless there is a feature that is only available to MS Office. Yes it is possible to create a program that can be configured to use specific helper programs, but it can have a real impact on system efficiency. It is easy enough to download or extract the non-PDF document and then use your program of choice. Just look to MS Outlook for a program that can not always open an attachment, especially PDF files.

  • Post implementation COPA Issue - Variances not setteled for process orders

    Hi Experts,
The client implemented COPA in the FY 2011. There were many process orders existing in the system prior to implementation of COPA. Now the client trying to archive the old process order and trying to set deletion flag  and system throwing error message u2018variances were not calculated fullyu2019.
But client saying orders were settled and no variances existing prior to COPA implementation.
    My queries are:
    1. The orders are created prior to COPA Implementation and they were settled as well long back.  After COPA implementation why system calculating variances once again.
    2. How can I check whether the variances got settled for the process order?  Please give me the report or transaction code?
    3. Can I settle the variances to COPA Transfer structure now for the orders which were created before COPA Implementation and what will be the impact?
    Regards
    Sri laxmi

    Hi Sri,
It should be settle the process orders before COPA implementations and find below my answers point by point.
1.System will not calculate again variance, once you settle the process orders, you can close the orders, so it will improve the system efficiency and system will those orders in future to calculate the variances.
2.are u try to close the order, if it is settle the order, system will allow to close the order or vice-versa.(T.code-ask PP consultants).
3.i have mentioned clearly, previous reply,it should not be open orders.
please let me know any further information is required.

  • Multiple monitor support is broken in 10.9.3 update

One of the biggest reasons I bought a 2013 Mac PRO was the advertised claim that "It supports up to three 4K displays running simultanously".
I need this kind of pixel pushing power.
I do research and development that requires having a lot of information in front of me, so I run four monitors -- two Dell 2560x1600 monitors, and two DELL 1600x1200 monitors, with appropriate adaptors to convert mini-displayport to DVI and dual-link DVI (at significant additional cost).
Up until today, it was all running beautifully and flawlessly.
Today, I updated to 10.9.3, and only two monitors come up.  I tried rebooting, tried turning moitors on and off, tried unplugging and replugging in the monitors. I can get any two of the monitors to work, it just depends on which two I plug in first, and it doesn't matter which ports I plug them into. In any arrangement, it only sees the first two monitors I plug in and the last two just stay black.  System Preferences only knows about those first two.
Does anyone know if it's possible to downgrade back to the previous version of the OS and how?
Or, does anyone know about a workaround?
    Does Apple even care anymore?

hkruse:  Thank you! Fortunately I did have a TM backup from before the update. It worked flawlessly. But I wish there had been a manual with this machine including such wonderful tidbits of info. How are we mere mortals supposed to find this stuff?  Posting to this message board and sloghing through the hit-or-miss responses is wasteful and tedious.  I lost most of one day and one morning because of this "update'.
It makes me wonder how many millions of person-hours are lost that could have been avoided by one or two engineers taking their job a little more serioustly, with a management staff that backs them up?
When I worked at IBM (early 1990s), I was on the QA team for AIX. We had a whole roomfull of technicians who were constantly developing, refining, running and documenting suites of regression tests on AIX and every enhancement in the pipeline. Does no one do this anymore?
I've also contributed to Linux back in the 90's and was shocked at how easy it was to get code included in that package-- one of the reasons I don't trust Linux today (I love it for a playground environment, but I'd never rely on it for serious work!)
Companies like Apple and Microsoft have a social reponsibility to make these critical systems efficient and reliable. I wish they'd spend a lot less time making things cute (the bouncing text bubbles in the IOS texting app, for instance, or the skeumorphic shifting background on IOS home screens, etc.) and spend more time and effort to make things rock solid, so they "just work".  That was the reason I switched to Apple eight years ago. Not because it was pretty.
Go ahead and make it pretty, but don't stop at "it works", keep going until you're sure it won't fail. It's easy to write code that works. Harder and more important to write code that won't fail. Anyone who doesn't understand the differrence is not a seasoned coder.
Thanks for Time Machine. I'd be screwed without that.  Now please give us the documentation to use it! (and the PRAM, the SMC, anything else that we ought to know about to rescure us from these premature, half-cocked updates...) Here's an idea: Print a reference manual and put it int he box with a new machine. I make educational model kits these days, and every one of my products comes with a manual. If I can do it, why can't you?  A 70 page perfect-bound manual costs less than $2 to print. Seriously.
Does anyone know how to disable these App Store update reminders?  I hate having to click "remind me later" then "tomorrow" every day...  I won't be installing any more updates without researching them first (and what a further waste of time that will be!)
Treat us right Apple. Be responsible.

  • How do I go from Mavericks back to Snow Leopard

I updated my late 2009 MacBook Pro to Mavericks as I thought the system efficiency upgrades the new OS tauted would be good, but alas my computer is super slow for ALL functions.  I won't give details, because now after the fact, I'm learning others have had this problems.  I don't have time to hope it will improve, I want to go straight back to Snow Leopard and will wait for Mavericks to have more updates, improvements and better reviews on speed.
Technical question on how to go back/ reinstall Snow Leopard?
    First my stats:
I have 2 partitions on my MacBook Pro: 1. my usual use 400gb partition, which was on snow leopard and went up to Mavericks, and 2. 100gb "test" partition running 10.6.8.
I have an external backup hard drive with Time Machine backup of the 400GB partition.
There was an apple support article - http://support.apple.com/kb/PH14176 - that said to revert to previous OS you simply:
Choose Apple menu > Restart. Once your Mac restarts (and the gray screen appears), hold down the Command (⌘) and R keys.
Select “Restore from a Time Machine Backup,” then click Continue.
Is this indeed going to work for me?  Or will it delete the 2 partitions?
Or do I pull out the Snow Leopard install disc and launch Disk Utility and erase the partition drive and install snow leopard that way?
Would like some confirmation on the best way to go before proceeding, but hoping to tackle this right away.
    Thanks!

Here is teh entrecheck report.  Can you advise on any issues or items that defeinitely and easily can be addressed?  Is there anything here that could be causing the tremendously slow, nearly not function computer with Mavericks (I feel like I'm back in the days of OS9), which was FINE on Snow Leopard?

    Any thoughts on this?

  • Best settings for importing

If I am importing stills already in Aperture, or music already in Itunes, or video which was already imported into Aperture, or just resides on my hard drive, is it necessary to copy the files to Final Cut so that I end up with double files on my hard drive?
What does "Import folders as keyword collections" do for me?
Am I right in assuming that creating optomized and proxy media will make Final Cut run smoother?  These are my settings:

That makes sense because the word, "proxy" means just that, a referenced thing instead of the real thing, but it's not what that article I found seems to say:
"If proxy is checked. Final Cut converts the camera native format into ProRes 422 Proxy. This provides much better performance than editing camera native with reasonable image quality, while requiring less storage space than ProRes 422 (roughly 18 GB per hour of material)."
The quality of the proxy media should be irrelevent if it's not actually used for the final output.  It sounds to me that using Proxy makes the most sense if the outputted material is still created from the original source.  That would be the best combo of system efficiency whilst maintaining the best quality, right?
I just wonder why anyone would do it another way if this is the case.

  • Governance and Data Management

    Hello,
We need to know about governance and data management, from this week I am working as master data coordinator in Empresas Polar (Mass Consumer Products Industry), where the role of this function is to assure the creation and maintenance of the master data, as initial activities we are raising statistics to know the most important information of the master data in all SAP modules, and the idea is across own developments in R/3, Portal, Workflow and Tools that exist on the market to simplify Update of the information on the part of the user, we know that in SAP the information is created in different views or transactions, which makes very difficult the opportune update of the data.
I am interested to know about MDM or any tool/application which eolud help us,
    I appreciate your help,
    Thanks

    Hi torres,
The MDM system for master data management and single-source cross-media catalog publishing does more than just database management, asset management, or even database publishing. It uses an industry-standard SQL-based DBMS as a u201Ccontaineru201D for the repository database. But then it goes much further to implement an elegant and seamless combination of many different technologies, concepts, and minute details to create a comprehensive solution to an
age-old problem. Many of the features incorporated into the MDM system are unique.
    ADVANTAGES
End-to-end solution. The MDM system provide an end-to-end
solution that automates the entire process of managing master data from start to finish, including bulk data import, centralized master data management, and published output to a variety of media.
u2022 Database-driven system. MDM layers a thick shell of functionality on top of a powerful SQL-based DBMS so that the MDM system is fully scalable and the master data is fully accessible to other SQLbased applications and tools.
u2022 Large capacity. The MDM system efficiently manages master data repositories containing up to millions of records.
u2022 Superior performance. MDM breaks through SQL performance
bottlenecks to deliver blazingly fast performance that is measured in milliseconds rather than seconds and is literally 100u20131000 times that of a SQL DBMS alone. No other system on the market today delivers comparable performance.
u2022 Powerful search and retrieval. All of the MDM modules include
powerful search and retrieval capabilities, so that an entire repository of thousands or millions of items can be easily searched and any item or group of items located in a matter of seconds.
u2022 Cross-media publishing. The MDM system is the only one on the market today that includes tightly integrated functionality for both electronic and printed output, for Web, CD-ROM, and paper output from a single MDM repository.

  • Large number of small order

    Hi All,
How the   process  "splitting a large purchase order  into smaller order based on certain criteria and processed together such that one order block ,blocks all the order" handled efficiently in SAP
Would appreciate your inputs on the above.
    Thank you.
    Abhay.

    Hi ,
    The scenario is that:
1.Customer sends a big purchase order.
2.This  purchase order is then split up into smaller order based on certain criteria and processed together.
3.These orders are then shipped together(This is achieved by customized developments at various order processing stages).
Important points to note: If any of the processing step fails for any of the orders, the further processing of all the orders should stop.
This is affecting the system performance to greater extent.(due to large volume of orders)
How can the system efficiency increased by existing way or other way.
    Thank you
    Abhay.

  • SQL Developer 1.5.1 won't display UI any longer...

Howdy, y'all; I'm using SQL Developer 1.5.1 on a laptop with Windows XP Pro SP3, fully patched, and 2 GB of memory. I try to run the system efficiently with as few processes and services as necessary, so as to avoid compatibility problems. All other apps, including Office 2K3 are fully patched.
I'm trying to export data from an Oracle 10.1 instance; it worked for a while, but now SQL Developer doesn't run. In Windows Task Manager, I see "sqldeveloper.exe" as a process using ~95 MB of memory, but no CPU; the UI doesn't appear beyond the startup tips dialog.
I changed the UI style from "Oracle" to "Windows" in the Preferences dialog, just to see what it would look like. Might this have broken SQL Developer? Don't wanna re-install if it's not necessary.
    Thanks for your assistance.
    Sincerely,
    APJ in The OC, SoCal.

I had a similar issue, icons and display window was all messed up and mousing over made things worse.
    Solution
I noticed that errors were being logged on the logging page tab, errors like:
    source : o.jt.ui.themes.ThemeProperties
Message: Failed to load icon etc.
Somehow the default Fusion Blue theme has gotten corrupted and I can't get it back. I changed the Theme and now it works fine.  Tools -> Preferences -> Environment -> Theme pulldown box. FYI - I'm using the Oracle look and feel setting.
    Clues
Logging on as another user on the same machine didn't have problems with the Fusion Blue theme.
Anyone know where these themes are stored? There should be a error handling routine in the code for this situation.
    _Things that didn't work_
    - Messing with the Java SDK versions
    - Delete and re-install
    - Switching between the versions that did and didn't include the Java SDK
    - Delete c:\documents and settings\user\Application Data\SQL Developer directory didn't work either, but now my DB connections settings are gone. :( At least the software is usable again.

  • Service to close Year End POs

Is there any special process or utilities or any transaction to close all the open purchase orders at the end of the year?
Or do I need to handle this through a report?
Please let me know your thoughts.
    Thanks

    Hi Rob,
Currently there are numerous pld POs in our system which are inactive and should be closed. So our business thought of starting close them. Since the number is quite large, they thought of automating the process and continue that process towards every year end too(They will determine the period to call it as old or inactive period).
So this is kind of cleaning up. Thats the bottom line.
Beyond this, below is the technical resons given by functional team:
    1. During the fiscal year carry-forward process, some additional staff time and effort are needed to resolve issues that are caused by some of these old and inactive orders.
    2. Budgetary reporting is not accurate. Commitments appear that never will be released.
    3. Old funds that could be discontinued must be kept active if there is still a commitment against it.
    4. Eventually old inactive orders will need to be closed so they can be archived from the tables for system efficiency.
    Thanks
    Kiran

  • Suggestion to arch installer...

I'm a newbie to arch. I just moved debian/ubuntu to arch, but I'm not a distro hopper. I'm now fascinated to arch, but I'm also frustrated to arch installation system.
I don't care installing os by console(ncurses). It's quite simple and efficient. I often installed debian/ubuntu in this way previously.
    My suggestion is
    1. partitioning
after cfdisk and we go through /arch/setup. Yes! "kiss" principle is important. Everything should be simple. but, we might lose "integrity" in the view of installation. cfdisk - partitioning (format stuff) - editing /etc/fstab the separated steps also make sense to me. However, in my opinion, will it be better that they merged into one step? I'm a newbie That's why I didn't find the way to keep(preserve) the previous partition. Whenever I tried to mount ie. "/home" it just formats. I solved this problem to skip the step, not to mount, and I edited /etc/fstab at the end.
    2. choosing packages
we can choose base/base-dev packages. I love this because it provides the way to build the really minimalistic system. About 100 packages, I think most of people can't memorize exactly what they are, what they do. Will it be better to show short description like which utilites are installed, which daemon works, what they do... I believe that the user-friendliness during installation doesn't harm the system efficiency or compactness.
I hope the arch keep this way.. however, a bit kinder or nicer...

I hope the feature-request FS#13040 is accepted sooner or later. the way of curses menu during kernel compile could be a good model. Finally, I hope "the menu" could be a bit more /intuitive/ for poor english skilled people like me.
So, you tried again, you answered 'no' to the 'recreate?' question and this allowed you to choose a mountpoint and it automatically put the needed line in fstab, without overwriting your partition?
Suggestions for better menu's are welcome also.  There is also a ticket open for a translated installer (i18n or i10n or whatever it's called), but I'm personally not convinced if it's worth it.  It will depend mostly on contributions from other people.

  • Unable to access google or amazon ...

I teach in an FE college where we have a suite of G5s currently running 10.4.5, and we have found Internet access to be painfully slow in general, and next to impossible for two sites in particular: google.co.uk and amazon.co.uk.
We are accessing the Internet via ethernet, and have to use a proxy server. When using Safari 2.0.5 the above sites stall whilst trying to connect ... they don't actually crash or anything, and after about 130 seconds the sites do appear. Obviously a wait of 130 seconds is as good as not appearing at all!
Some sleuthing on my part has revealed that the eMacs that we have running on 10.3.9, with Safari 1.3.2 and accessing the Internet by the same proxy server, can access both the sites mentioned above with no difficulties whatsoever. They also seem to have much faster connections in general.
I am getting severe stick from my students over the slow net connection ... has anyone any suggestions as to what might be causing this? Is there something fundamentally different in either V2 of Safari or V10.4 of the OS that would cause these particular sites to slow to a crawl? Could it even be something to do with the proxy server - would it have software/drivers that might need updated to accommodate machines running 10.4?
Any and all help will be extremely gratefully received ... especially by the students if it leads to results!!

    Welcome to Apple Discussions
V10.4.5 network protocol has a tendency to be slow, especially when using Proxy Servers. I suggest upgrading to 10.4.7 using the combined update.. Remember to "repair permissions" using Disk Utility after the restart. Also, make sure you have updated to the various Security releases (software update will let you know what they are, but first run the combined update).
    Other steps:
System Preferences>Network panel>Ethernet>TCP - DNS servers - enter 4.2.2.2 and select "apply". Also, setting the IPv6 selection (bottom of TCP panel) from automatic to "off" seems to help.
In Safari, select "empty cache" from the Safari Menu.
And as always, system maintenance is essential for operating system efficiency. What type of maintenance is performed on these machines? I use OnyX

  • Control Program (Overseeing Agents)

    Hey guys.
I'm an Artificial Intelligence student at University, working on my final year project. It's actually quite interesting. It's a conceptual indexer for text retrieval. My project involves a lot of 'agents' working together, and I wanted to create a kind of 'master' program to oversee the agents, queue tasks up, make sure that none of agents has crashed or frozen, stuff like that. The part i'm having some trouble with is the crashing and freezing part. I'm not really sure how to even begin going about it. I'm sure it's actually pretty easy, but I was wondering if anyone would be able to make some suggesstions to send me down the right path.
Let me explain a little more about what I would like it to do.
Basically there are five agents working together to create an information retrieval system. One converts HTML and RTF documents to plain text. The next uses WSD techniques to give each word it's correct sense (context). After that the document is conceptualised (given overall and sectional concepts). This information is then indexed. There is also a seperate agent for searching. In order to keep this system efficient and stable, on top of this will be a master agent, queing tasks and making sure that all the other agents are working as they should be. The problem im having is with how to make sure that one of the other agents hasn't crashed or frozen. If it has crashed or frozen, I would like the master agent to shut it down and restart it. My first thought about this was to have some kind of ping system, where the master agent would send a message to the other agents, and if it gets no reply then it restarts them, but there must be a more accurate and efficient way then this surely?
I don't want the actual answer for this, just for someone to show me the right path to follow. It's just that i'm not even sure where to begin with this one.
    Anyway, thanks in advance.
    Adam.

This is one of those rare situations where the depracted Thread.stop method seems to be unavoidable.
On the face of it crashes are easilly dealt with, but if it's a RuntimeError is there realy much point in restarting the Aglet? A RuntimeError usually implies that the code is faulty.
You'll need to use timeouts to monitor for Aglets that get stuck. For example your Aglet should send some kind of "I'm still here" periodically which resets a timer in a separate thread.
You should study ClassLoaders. It's probably best to load your Aglets from a seperate class directory, jar, or set of same using a URLClassLoader. That enables you to do stuff like "hot" reloading, and start thinking about security policies (especially if your aglets may be writtern by third parties).
I'd recomend the book "Inside the Java2 Virtual Machine".
