the barcode scanners are not for the normal 2D barcodes, it is for 3D barcodes, check here-> http://mobilecodes.nokia.com/create.jsp

  • Interface with the Asset & Inventory Barcode Scanners

    Hi All,
I need some help regarding the integration/interface of barcode scanners with the Assets and Inventory system and it would be greatful if someone can help me out with the possible solution.
The background and my questions are as follows -
On my current project, the Client Asset department uses the barcode scanners (Company - M3 Mobile - MC-7500S) with the legacy system. The barcode scanners generates the excel file and they upload the file in the legacy system, which updates the location and tracking specific data in the system. They also use these the scanners for the good receipt and stocktake of inventory and assets too.
My questions are as follows -
    1. How can we interface them with the ECC 6.0 system?
    2. What will be the process?
    3. Can we update the asset and inventory data into the SAP system?
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Manoj Kaushik

Not sure if this helps, but our company requires batch uploads - not wireless. Several years ago we developed idocs to handle the transfer of data from a scanner to SAP. This process is still in use today in ECC 6.0. The data passed is Inventory Date, Bar Code, Room, & Location, which is updated on the asset record.

  • Does anyone know anything about iPhones and/or iPads having barcode scanners for business purposes?

Does anyone know anything about iPhones and/or iPads having barcode scanners for business purposes?  I am doing some research about the benefits of using a Q R Code type of system, but question which handheld sets would be more compatible for using that type of barcode.  Being a avid Apple supporter, I cannot seem to find very much research on this specific topic.
    Any thoughts?

I have a QR reader on my iphone. Works just brill. I've used it to create business cards, with a boat load more information on it (Including my duty times, etc)
Most of the QR readers in the App store are free, so give them a try. You can copy and paste the data just like normal text.
What application for them did you have in mind?

  • 2D barcode scanners for scanning

    HI  Guru's
Has anyone has used 2D barcode scanner for scanning serial numbers into SAP B1 System.  We want to use 2D barcode scanner so that we can scan it fastly. Can someone help us out.

    Hi,
Having a 2D or a barcode scanner does not make any difference on the level of the interface to the pc.
Take a hand scanners which is able to operate as a Keyboard-Wedge. These may have an "Y" cable, with is a socket for your keyboard on one end and the other one a plug to go in the keyboard socket (PS2) on the PC. It is available also with an USB interface.
Your PC will not even know whether the characters are coming from you keyboard or from the reader. The type we are using is a Leuze IT 4600 (http://www.leuze.com/products/log/2d02_en.html), but any other type with keyboard-wedge funcionality would do the job.
You should note that reading a 2D code will not be faster than reading a barcode. The difference is in the code density, you will need less place for a 2D code than for a barcode.

  • Always connected/ocasionally connected Barcode scanners

    Hello,
I am trying to find the best always/occasionally connected devices for NW Mobile 7.1 to use for barcode scanning.  Is there a list of the recommended SAP devices?  I have searched and haven't found anything.

We are using Motorola devices, it's a pretty big\reliable company.
They have various devices that could fit Retail\Warehouse, like gun format, wearable, vehicle mounted devices.
I think what you need to watch out for is what OS is on the device and that it is supported by SAP Netweaver Mobile, I have only seen SAP documents stating WM5 support for NWM 7.1 OCA client.
I have tested on WM6.1 with MS emulator and MC95 and it works, but probably not "supported" by SAP, as far as i know, maybe product matrix has been updated recently...
    http://www.motorola.com/Business/US-EN/BusinessSolutions/ProductSolutions/Warehouse+Management
You'll probably need to figure out the Motorola distribution channels or "partner" in your region/area.
    Another vendor would be intermec

  • How mobile device ( rfid/barcode reader) communicates with SAP transaction.

    Dear Friends !
Good morning, How are you ?
I want to understand that in ITSmobile How Mobile device ( RFID Reader ot Barcode scanner/reader) to fetch the data and supply the ITS screen.
I believe every mobile device has some .dll file or something in that we have some methods if we call it say in .net or java application we can read the rfid or barcode and from the returning paramter of the .dll method we can get information what we want ( if i m not wrong).
now the question is if I have some barcode /rfid number which is assigned to sap material number. if on mobile device I run mm02 transaction code n trigger the gun can I get the material number in material number field . ( assume I have program which can fetch the material number from barcode/rfid number.) ? but to pass rfid number / barcode what should I do. I can write javascript and call that method but dont know weather I can use javascript or not in that.
    to be simple:
How can I get barcode / rfid number to my sap transaction. if possible
please give me any suggestion. document link... help.... whatever may help me to understand this. I will greatly appreciate your reply
    Thanking you
    Regards

    Hi Ajay,
Please refer to note 1057759 for the delivered Drivers for Peripherals in SAP DOE. This lists all the supported barcode scanners for SAP Netweaver Mobile. Those derivers are certified after testing to work only with that device and OS configuration.
The Javadoc to get an idea about how to use those PIOS API for barcode scanner
    http://help.sap.com/javadocs/nwmobile/SP3/laptops/com/sap/ip/me/api/pios/scanner/ScannerConnection.html
As input from Barcode scan have to be taken in Wedge Mode, there is no need to do any developments in MI JSP Application. To enable barcode scan one can download barcode scan tools available from Handheld Vendor sites

  • BarCode scaners in Java Application

    Hi,
i m interested in learning how to interface BarCode Scanners in Java application
can ne one give me code snippest for the same ?
i want the scanned value to appear on the selected JtextField..
    please help me out..
    Thanx in advance
    Bye

All the barcode scanners I've used have been treated as keyboard input by the pc. So no special handling is needed to get the barcode into the textfield. If you want it to appear as a barcode in the field, change the font in the field.
    When in doubt STFW:

  • Inserting a barcode in a pdf file in Adobe Acrobat Pro

I have a PDF bookcover created for a printed book, but I'm having trouble inserted the barcode (a eps file , and pdf file ). How do I insert the barcode into the bookcover file in Adobe Acrobat? Please help!

Ok, I created an .eps file, and I'm afraid that I couldn't find a way to insert it into a .pdf; this means you must first convert the .eps file into another image file, e.g. .tiff, .jpeg, .png, or similar.  You can do that with Acrobat, although it is easier with Photoshop.
    1. Convert .eps file to .tiff file
    open .eps file in Acrobat
    File | Save as |
Save as type: TIFF (or PNG, or JPEG)
    click Save
    2. Insert .tiff file into .pdf
    open .pdf file in Acrobat
click on Tools, then Content Editing
    click Add Image
select the converted .tif file and click Open
the inserted image should become visible; move it to its destination location
see the below image for an ISBN barcode I have just inserted into an empty space of a back bookcover
If it is indeed an ISBN barcode image you need to insert, I highly recommend that you convert your .eps file to a high-quality image type like TIFF.  JPEG images can get compressed and create a low-quality image.  Low-quality barcodes on books can sometimes not be read by barcode scanners; therefore my recommendation to use a high-quality image.
Let me know if you have any further questions, or need clarification somewhere.

  • Barcode scan on WPF agentry client

    Hello to all,
I use a barcode scan field type on window screen for WPF agentry client. When I try on our tablet device, user input is not enable but the barcode scan does not work fine. It seems that the field does not recognize the scanning.
In particular we need a input field that receives in input only a scanning and no user input from keyboard.
What kind of agentry field can I use ?
Can I use barcode scan type on WPF agentry client ? There are some restrictions ?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards.

    Hi,
you may want to have a look at the new OpenScan API. To my knowledge the WPF Client does not support barcode scanners, NFC scanners etc. out of the box.

  • Why Doesn't My BarCode Scanner Work With Mountain Lion?

I'm running Mac OS X 10.8.4 and I have two brand new CipherLab 1500 barcode scanners.  When I plug the scanners into a PC, they work fine.  When I plug them into either of my iMacs the scanner light comes on when I pull the trigger, but when I point the scanner at a barcode, the light goes out, there is no "beep" to indicate a successful scan, and not data is displyed (I'm testing it with TextEdit).  The light will not come back on when I pull the trigger again.  I've spoken with CipherLab and they say there's nothing wrong woth the scanners (and I tend to believe them) and that the reason the light doesn't come on when I pull the trigger after attempting to scan a barcode is because the scanner's waiting for a reply from the computer and won't re-scan until it receives one.  CipherLab also says they've tested their scanners on OS X (the tech I spoke with didn't know what version they've tested them up to) and they "work fine."
    Any thoughts?

Check http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669 Printer and scanner software available for download to determine if you need drivers and also try the solutions mentioned KB Articles:  http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11143 OS X Mountain Lion: Reset the printing system and http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11070 OS X Mountain Lion: Troubleshoot a network printer which should work w/scanners too.

  • Multiple Barcode Scanning

    Dear All,
I am having an application where I need to scan the barcode string from 6 different USB Barcode Scanners which are connected at single computer, but what I really want is how can I identify from which Barcode I am getting the string.
I have six text boxes on front panel which corresponds to each scanner, so if I can get any acknowledgementy from the scanner prior to displaying the barcode string in textbox, I will keyfocus that particular textbox.
But I am not having any idea that I can get any kind of ackoowledgement from the scanners which are connected at USB Port.
Please try to help if anyone has some valuable suggestion.
    Thanks

    HI All,
Thanks for responses, the barcode will be of same type.
Actually I have to implement barcode scanners at a production line , there will be around 15 test benches (machines), and the product goes under testing for various parameters at each machine.
These machines give GO / NOGO output after completion of tests, barcode scanner will be used after completion of test, so when it is scanning and sending the string to Main CPU (which is at the end of line) there will be a Digitial I./O card which will scan and record the result from that machine (Go/NG) with coming barcode string and save into a file...this goes for all machines.
After comletion of all tests at every machine, when the final operator will scan the barcode for printing a new barcode to be pasted on that product the whole report will come corresponding to that particular barcode , that whether product has completed all tests and were all tests OK??  Only then Main CPU will give commmand to print the new barcode having all test information.
    Thanks & regards
    James
