Batch Processing Problem

I have tried to batch process a number of files on an external firewire hard drive.  I am running Mac OSX 10.6.4 on an iMac and using CS3.  When I go to set up the batch process I choose the folder on the external drive but when I go to start the batch I get an error message that CS3 cannot complete the batch because the disk is not available.
What on earth is going on?  The disk is fine, is recognised by CS3 when specifying the source folder.
Any thoughts

Perhaps better, if you could give me a sample xml config with global and one entity. The only attribute in the entity should be the id... The id should be the primary key in both OPA and Oracle...
The global table in oracle would contain a single column with the global id.
The child table in oracle would contain 2 columns -> one for the global ref id and one for the child key...
I think you will find problems.
As a note we have duct-tape solved this by creating views and making column copies in the views of the child id and then mapping the id in oracle to the duplicate column in the view.
So our child view contains the child table with the child id repeated twice so that we can map...

  • Batch processing problems-can anyone help?

Setup: Quadcore, 4GB RAM, 4 internal drives all with plenty of space, Leopard OS, latest version.
Software: CS4 with Photoshop Extended; all updates installed. I also have CS3 installed; only use Bridge and PS in both apps.
Problem: Working in CS4. All edits/crops/corrections done in the Camera Raw window; all edits saved and viewable in Bridge. However, when I use Batch from the Tools dropdown (Tools > Photoshop > Batch), and check all the usual places, select an Action, select a Destination, and hit "Go", the results are totally weird. Some images process as expected, but many are at least two stops overexposed.
All individual files will Open, and can be Saved As manually; all works fine. That is in fact how my assistant and I got the job done tonight. The Batch Action is simplicity itself: Open, Save As (JPEG level 9), and Close file—but if I run Batch on the same files that can be opened and Saved As perfectly, it all goes crazy; three quarters of the files are totally overexposed, in blocks (10–25, roughly), and at random.
I have used the Ctrl + Alt + Shift after opening Bridge; I have run Cocktail; and lit the right incense. But this still will not work properly! Can anyone help???

Batching the same files in CS3 works perfectly, in terms of the processed JPEGs at least being correctly exposed, but the CS4-only edits (like the healing brush) are not recognised, nor are many, tho' not all, of the crops.
I have decided to deactivate and uninstall, then reinstall CS4, after upgrading to Snow Leopard. Usually, I wait for a few months for others to report on OS update interactions with CS and FCP, but since CS4 as installed was useless and I had done the usual resets of Preferences without any change to Batch Processing's reliability, I felt I could not be worse off.
So, after upgrading to Snow Leopard, I will reinstall CS4 (and all apps this time, rather than just PS and Bridge, as I usually do) in case there are soime weird unintended consequences of a Custom install.
Very frustrating and time-consuming, and I wonder what I might have done to create this problem—seeing as no one commented, I can only assume that this is an unique experience.
I will report back today, hopefully.

  • Batch processing problem: Seeing the primary key (id) in the test cases...

Another problem we seem to be having is how to read the primary key into a base attribute of an entity.
In batch processing, we may define the "id" as the primary key on the table. We need to get that id and the foreign key ids into the base attributes in the rule set...
How do we go about doing that?

  • Can someone help me with a batch processing problem

I just got my first Mac and I just loaded Aperture and unfortunately a deadline is upon me. I am used to Photoshop but I'm lost here looking at Aperture. All I need to do right now is to pop in CDs full of photos and produce thumbnails of them to put in file folders on my hard drive. I figure it's an automated batch process, but I'm just not seeing it among the functions of Aperture. I know this request may annoy some users, but I sure could use the help right now and I promise to use the tutorial and manual in the future.

If what you mean is make a bunch of small jpegs - just import the images into an Aperture project - select them all and use export version to put them out in whatever size/format you want. If a preset does not exist for your purposes - create a new one with "edit.." from the presets drop down menu in the export version dialog.

  • Acrobat 9 Professional Batch Processing Problem

I created a batch sequence to change the Subject under Description to run on selected folders. It ran perfectly in Acrobat 6. In Acrobat 9, when I select run sequence, I have to click OK for each file until it runs on all files in a folder. My output options are the same as Acrobat 6, I'm overwriting existing files and keeping originial name.

    > So there is no way to set the batch process to only work on odd or even pages in Acrobat Professional 8?
    I don't see any way.

When i try to make a batch processing command using Crop Pages the Apply To: drop down box is grayed out.
I need to apply the crop page to the odd pages but because the box is grayed i cannot select this option. Is there something i can do to make the drop down box selectable?

  • Batch Processing problem with Directories

    Hi All!
I am having a problem recording an action for Batch Resizing/Optimizing a large number of Photos.
What I want is to resize about a 1000+ photos, all optimized, but there is a catch!
they are all in separate directories(also in the hundreds!), and as I am delivering them to separate Clients, I would need to preserve the same directory structure after resizing/optimizing, IE its laid out like this:
    John's Folder - 50 Photos
    Jane's Folder - 120 Photos
    Joe's Folder - 75 Photos
    David's Folder - 50 Photos
IE: I cant choose "Save Optimized" and 'include sub directories' and then have the Action output them into a Common directory as that would obviously loose the directory structure, and i would have no way of tracking which photo belonged to whom.
(as Image names are all 'Camera' filenames, ie 013121012.jpg, so I cant use that to identify the different Photo-sets as most of the photos were taken on the same day.)
What I came up with so far was to:
Duplicate all files and the Directory structure as it is, and try to write an action that after processing would just 'Save' and Overwrite files as they are. (IE Resize/Optimize, then save/overwrite all photos and then choose 'Include all Subfolders )
Problem is I cant 'Save Optimized' and overwrite the original file! I couldn't even find a way to set 'Compression settings' for Jpg when I am using the 'SAVE' dialog(that would automatically overwrite the original files). The Jpeg Compression only pops up with 'Save As', but then again that is not useful for overwriting the same file.
    Any ideas??
    Thanks!
PS: I am using Photoshop CS3.

The JSP specification doesn't define the mapping used by a JSP
engine to generate a Java package.className from a given
    request.
Oracle JSP takes a simple approach (for a variety of reasons).
Rather then generating a munged/random name, Oracle JSP uses the
full path information in the request. The path information
generates the package name while the classname comes from the
target. As virtual paths within a host are unique this works.
Unfortunately, you have encountered the one limitation of this
approach, namely VP names can contain names that are invalid Java
package or classnames. Names that are all numbers is one case.
Java reserved words is another. Currently, the only way to avoid
this is to change the VP you use to access the JSP so its path
name and target only includes valid Java (package/class) names.

  • Automator image batch process problem

    Hi.
I am surprised how much difficulty I am having with something I believe Automator should be perfect for!
I want to create a hot folder to drop an image into, and to create 5 different versions of that image in 5 different folders. I have tried it using the 'render' action, and also using photoshop actions, but when I drop my images in the folder the system tries to do them all at the same time, resulting in chaos, and mostly failed results.
I can't seem to find any way of processing them one at a time. It works if I add all the files into a 'get specified finder items' action, but I need this to be an automatic, remote process. Any suggestions gratefully received. I have spent days trying to teach myself Automator, but feel I must be missing something obvious?
    Cheers. Rob Mac

I want to create a hot folder to drop an image into, and to create 5 different versions of that image in 5 different folders...
In an example scenario, I created five folders with the following names:
    1) *_Master Folder_* -- +this is the "hot" folder, meant to house the original images+
    2) *_BMP Folder_*
    3) *_JPEG Folder_*
    4) *_PNG Folder_*
    5) *_TIFF Folder_*
Each Folder has its own Automator workflow, saved as a Plug-in for Folder Actions attached to it.
First, an Automator workflow is created for the *_Master Folder_* using the following actions:
    1) *Copy Finder Items* (from the Finder library) -- +To: select Other > BMP Folder+
    2) Pause (from the Automator library) -- +for 5 seconds; adjust if necessary+
    3) *Copy Finder Items* -- +To: select Other > JPEG Folder+
    4) Pause -- +for 5 seconds+
    5) *Copy Finder Items* -- +To: Other > PNG Folder+
    6) Pause -- +for 5 seconds+
    7) *Copy Finder Items* -- +To: Other > TIFF Folder+
From Automator's File menu select: Save As Plug-in... > Plug-in for: Folder Actions. Give the Plug-in a name, attach it to the *_Master Folder_* and press Save.
And now the destination folders. Save each workflow as a Plug-in for Folder Actions as described above and attach it to its respective folder.
    *_BMP Folder_:*
    1) *Filter Finder Items* (Finder library) -- +Whose: Name Extension - Is not equal to - bmp+
    2) *Change Type of Images* (Preview library) -- +To Type: BMP+
    *_JPEG Folder_:*
    1) *Filter Finder Items* -- +Whose: Name Extension - Is not equal to - jpg+
    2) *Change Type of Images* -- +To Type: JPEG+
    *_PNG Folder_:*
    1) *Filter Finder Items* -- +Whose: Name Extension - Is not equal to - png+
    2) *Change Type of Images* -- +To Type: PNG+
    *_TIFF Folder_:*
    1) *Filter Finder Items* -- +Whose: Name Extension - Is not equal to - tif+
    2) *Change Type of Images* -- +To Type:TIFF+
Dropping an image file into the Master Folder triggers a folder action which sends a copy of the file to each destination folder. Once an image file is added to a destination folder the folder action attached to that folder is triggered. The script determines whether the added file contains the specified name extension, and converts it to the appropriate file type if it doesn't.
The script worked for me as long as only one file was added to the Master Folder at a time, and when the entire routine was allowed to complete for that one file. Adding more than one file at a time, or adding files in too rapid succession produced unpredictable results.
This is offered merely as an example of the kind of thing which can be done using Automator only. Of course, your needs may be much more elaborate. Hope this helps; good luck.

  • ASKB batch processing problem

    Hi every one,
I have an issue in assets accounting, first i created batch through tcode ASKB but it was wrongly created then I deleted that batch now I want to creat again new batch, How is it possible ?

    Hi
Refer Note 87311 for possible solutions. Both the tables are normally not maintainable. Proper checks should be made before altering the contents. Alternatively you can take SAP help (chargeable). Best way is to post manually.
    Extract from Note.
The two fields CPUDT and CPUTM in table T093D are to be reset to the status of the run before the last RASKBU00/RAPERB00 run, and therefore filled with the contents of fields CPUDT and CPUTM of the table TABAS of that run. Delete the last entry of the table TABAS. Then run the program again RASKBU00/RAPERB00 and run a batch input session.
Alternatively, you can manually repost documents using transaction FB01.

  • Batch processing problem: merge eacg page's layers into ONE

    hi, all
I have a big problem here.
I have a 598 pages' PDF document and a logo image (jpg), now, i wanna import this logo image file as a PDF layer and merge it to every page's layers in the PDF document, the desired result document should like this: each page in the PDF document has this logo image merged into it.
    just like the following procedure:
            PDF           logo        mergeResult
    ===+========+======+==================
    P1    layers         jpg          layers+jpg -> ONE layer
    P2    layers         jpg          layers+jpg -> ONE layer
    P3    layers         jpg          layers+jpg -> ONE layer
so, i consider using javascript in my acrobat pro 9.
    What could i start with?
    thanks in advance.

    Thanks for your reply.
I find some detailed instruction of this flattenPages() function in Acrobat Javascript Reference document, it reads as follows,
Converts all annotations in a page range to page contents. If a page range is not specified, all annotations in the document are converted.
Note:Great care must be used when using this method. All annotations—including form fields, comments, and links—on the specified range of pages are flattened. They may have appearances, but they will no longer be annotations.
and, i have try this method as soon as your reply in my sight.
However, this operation could not merge the watermark and the page content. The logo image and the page content are still TWO seperate objects.
In a word, i just wanna convert any elements in the page into ONE. Exactly one.
Thanks so muck for reply above.

  • Batch process destination problem

I have used Automate/Batch a lot with PS7, and it seems pretty similar in my new CS3. But I am having this problem: The "destination" folder that the images end up in is not the one designated. The pics end up in a folder I used before as a destination. There is no question that I did not get it right, because PS remembers the last automation settings and I can go back and see where I told them to go. It is really weird.
Also, while most of the new pics' designations are changed to "dsc" from "DSC" (I guess that is the "+extension" setting), as they always have been with PS7, my last batch had some that were still designated "DSC". Just a few--They were adjusted properly, just didn't have the small-cap designation that differentiates them from the originals.
The first problem has occurred with both D70 & D300 pics. The second only with D70 so far.
    Any help greatly appreciated. -John

Images coming out of modern digital cameras often have embedded metadata describing the orientation of the photo (e.g., when you turn the camera to take a portrait-style photo), but Fireworks does not utilize those data (though many photo viewing programs do.  When you use Fireworks to open an original file of a photo that gets rotated after your batch process, does it open in the correct orientation?
I'm going to guess that the photos that get rotated probably the portrait-style photos, because landscape-style is the default layout that Fireworks just assumes unless the photo has been modified.
If this is the case, then you'll need to run a batch process on all of the portrait-style photos /first/ to rotate them, then run all the photos through the resizing/scaling batch process.

  • Problem batch processing in CS2, CS3 and CS4e

I have all the above named programs and have tried unsuccessfully to get the batch process to work.  I currently run it in CS with no problems. We want to upgrade to CS5e and actually be able to use it to process our web gifs without constantly going back to the old version.
I have an action set up with the following steps:
    Start Record
    Open File
Save for Web - Set Width to 150 pixels - Apply - Save (I select a folder called 150)
I repeat process for a 300 pixel image.
    Close the file
    Stop record.
    Go to batch process:
    Choose Action
    Select Source Folder
Override Action "Open" Command is checked
Choose Destination Folder (150 from above)
    I select OK.
This runs fine in PS CS and no matter how many files I have in the source I end of with the same number in both the 150 and 300 folder I have created, named correctly and in the correct 150 or 300 pixel width I need as gif files.
I repeat the same procedure in CS2, CS3 or CS4e and all I get is a folder with one image in it when done.  the batch runs and you can see it opening files but it just constantly overwrites the original file.
I have tried to check other boxes such as the Override Action Save As Command and other things I have found on these forums but nothing is working.
I even called Adobe and was on the phone for 99 minutes and let them view my desktop while I ran the procedure in both PS CS and PS CS4e and they were stumped.  I was told they would pass it on to supervisors and someone would call me back.  I called back after a week since I had not heard from anyone and was told my call was recorded as a mis-dircted call and they had no record.
If someone could please help I would really appreciate it.  I have spent the last three evenings combing websites and watching videos to no avail.
    Thanks in advance.

Thanks, but I have checked all those and am using the same settings from program to program without success.  It always work
    s in PS CS.

  • Problems by batch processing in CS2

    Hello,
I have a problem. I had record a new activity "Insert a logo and storage". Then I started a batch processing with 40 photos. But I have a problem. Not all photos are insert a logo, the first 10 photos are with logo, then come 3 without logo, then come 2 with logo and the rest are without logo.
All photos have the same dimension and all are upright.
What is wrong with this batch processing????
    Thanks for help!!!!!!!
    Greetings from germany

This sounds like a Photoshop, or maybe Illustrator, question. You should ask it directly in the application forum for your platform (presumably Windows) where there are more people likely to be able to help. Please try to provide some more details, like what the steps are in the action.

  • LR Enfuse Problem - Batch Processing Doesn't work

    Hi,
I'm relativley new to Lightroom - and am trying to learn about Enfusing multiple different exposures.
I've followed all the instructions to the letter, and I'm able to enfuse great looking shots if I do them 1 group at a time. However, I've taken heaps of bracketed shots, and want to 'Batch Process' them.
LR/Enfuse appears to have the functionality, and plenty of people online seem to be able to make it work. But even when I stack each bracketed shot, and select all. It still comes up with the error message below:
    "No Stacks
No Stacks containing selected photos were found.  If you are trying to blend the selected images then please turn off the batch mode option."
Any ideas? I'm using Lightroom 5.2
    Cheers, Thomas

    Hi,
I am not sure what operating system you are using, I don't have any problems with Win 7 x64, but if you are using Apple OS there may be issues with permissions on the folders you are using e.g. the folder for temporary files.
You may also want to look at his tutorial http://digital-photography-school.com/save-time-with-batch-exposure-blending but disregard the Auto Stacking explained as it is difficult to get it to work.
I am not sure but it looks as though the stacks in the image you posted are expanded. Make sure the individual stacks are collapsed.
Apart from that I just don't know as it works fine for me.
