Battery empties in flightmode

Why does my iPhone 5 iOS 7 drain the battery from full to empty over night when its in flight mode?

That is wishful thinking. I can't imagine they will have another update just days after the last one, to fix just one thing. I hope you're right though, because my battery life is SO much worse now with 1 app installed, and not running, no push or fetch email enabled, no location, no wifi/3G - oh, if my 3G worked faster than Edge, I would enable it, but it doesn't anymore. Not since the update.

  • Battery empty at 1% or even 0% but no automatic sleep happening

I wanted to calibrate my macbook pro to optimize the battery usage because i always use my mac at school.
But then I noticed that whenever my battery empties at 1% or 0% nothing happens. My mac doesn't turn off by itself, or even the display won't sleep. Why is this? Is there something wrong?
On the system preferences: My mac will eventually sleep on battery after 15 minutes. But it doesnt.. what settings should I change?
Before my battery will only take like 10% and the pop up for "your computer is running low" then i will completely empty my battery and my mac turns off or i dont know..sleep by itself - but right now its not happening.
    thanks for the help

  • Need entering BIOS to setup date after battery empty

    Hi, I'm new here.
I worked as technical support where I should maintain many T400.
I have to deal with this issue for T400 type 2767 CTO
The T400 should entering BIOS first and re set date format to actual date after battery empty
Without re set date and time T400 can't be use.
I have checked whether there's damaged in internal BIOS battery, and find no issue in there.
In previous purchase where I got same T400 but different type ( TYPE 2767 RR4) we've never seen an issue like this.
    Any solution about my problem
    Many thanks.
    Regards,
    Doni

Thanks, it was very messy I tried to make it simple and installed Win 8.1 OS on the SSD, with up to 1GB/sec r/w transfer rate when all performance functions in Magician were enabled, and the HDD from Seagate has up to 170MB/sec r/w transfer rate, ok, don't want to touch the bios before I have to

    1) This is because of software version 1.1. See this
thread for some options as to how to go back to 1.0,
    which will correct the problem...

    2) This tends to happen after videos. Give the iPod a
minute or two to readjust. It should now be more
    accurate.
    3) This?
iPod shows a folder icon with exclamation
    point
    4) Restore the iPod
    5) Try these...
iPod Only Shows An Apple Logo and Will Not Start
    Up
iPod Only Shows An Apple Logo
I think 3,4, and 5 are related. Try the options I
    posted for each one.

I just noticed that one of the restore methods you posted was to put it into Disk Mode First rather than just use the resstore straight off, I Have tried that and seems to have solved the problem, If it has thank you. previously I have only tried just restoring it skipping this extra step. Hope my iPod stays healthy, if it doesnt its a warrenty job me thinks any way thanks again

  • My MBP 7,1 wifi connection suddenly stopped working. It was working fine before until the battery emptied. I turned it on but it froze so I tried to reset it. Then, after that it no longer detect any wifi signal in any areas I go.

Hi Everyone. My MBP 7,1 didn't have any wifi issues not until 2 weeks ago. The laptop's battery got empty and when I tried to turned it on, the computer just froze. So I tried to reset it. However, I noticed that the wifi or airport can no longer detect any wifi signal. There were instances that it wouldn't turn on when I shut it off but now, it seems okey. I tried the zapping of PRAM and deleting all the things needed as I saw in different threads but it still not working. The ethernet works fine but I still need the wifi. Its been 2 weeks already. I don't have an Apple Store near me coz I am in southern part of Philippines. Can someone shed light on this? Thank you so much.

Hi!! To add more to the issue, the other day, my airport card is nowhere to be found. It now says no airport card installed which is really crazy. I also noticed that my MBP freezes during start up and I had to zap the PRAM so it would open up. Anyone there who experienced the same thing? I'd really appreciate your suggestions. Thanks!

  • Battery empty after long inactivity

Dear fellow users, I have observed strange battery behavior with my Twist. I do not mean anything related to the battery life when computer is on, but when I shut the computer down. When I leave it off couple of days and then restart it, the battery capacity (how much it is charged) seems be at the same level, when I powered the computer off. But it happened to me twice already that I shut down the computer (no sleep, there would be a blinking light visible) and did not use it for several weeks. When I restarted Twist after several weeks of being off, the battery was completely empty (e.g., at 4% or 5% when it was originally at 50% or 99%). As the battery behaves normally when computer is running, I am wondering what a cause could be? Is there some software setting influencing power states (e.g., sleep / deep sleep / complete shut down)? Any other ideas? Thank you. Best, Pavel

UPDATE (new info): it happened again, but now more specifically. 1) Two weeks ago, I used twist on battery, turned it off with 50% battery remaining, and was not able to use it for more than a week (busy at work) --> battery level almost did not change after this, BUT 2) Two days ago, I used Twist connected to the power net (electricity), the battery was full at the end, then I turned Twist off ... only to find out that after 2 days (!) of no use the capacity of the battery was at 70% level. Any idea what is going on? I do not think there is a problem with the battery itself, but Twist "does something" sometimes...

  • Battery empty cannot recharge

    Hi,
I bought my Ipod 30GB on the sixth of august, it was doing fine 'till it froze, I thought is was broken but checked on the internet and after I reset it, it worked normally again. The next day I didn't use it much but it was still doing fine until yesterday I had it on the right USB (2.0) for hours and it said the battery was low, I didn't understand it but it went on and off the whole time, I looked on the internet but couldn't find much about it. So today I went to the Apple Repair centre and they were all chinese but my father talked to them and I got a new one. Now, I did the new one also in the USB synced some music and photos and after two hours the battery was completely empty and now its on and off again O.o So I thought maybe its not the Ipod but something I'm doing wrong can anybody help me?

Sounds like the USB port is defective. Do you have the wall charger or access to another computer?

  • U330 Touch - battery empty after sleep

    Hi,
Since the new firmware update the machine is actually working fine, but my problem is the following. Even if my battery is fully charged and i leave it a night in sleep mode every morning the battery is empty!
Intel smart connect shouldn't allow it to wake up from 9 pm to 9 am, but still... You have any ideas what I could change??
Thank you already for any answer!

  • NB305-105 - Battery empty after few days

    Hi,
I have a Toshiba NB305-105 (2 Gb Ram - 250 GB HDD) with Windows 7 (64) Ultimate. My battery (6 cells) has a long life about 6 hours but I don't manage why when switch-on the day after the PC the battery is discharged. I verify that PC is right switch-off and not in hibernate/stand-by but after some days the battery is complete empty.
Someone has had the same problems?
    Thank for any help.
    Regards

    Hey,
After few days the battery shouldnt be empty but it will lose a little bit power, thats normal behavior on all notebooks. Normally up to 5-10% is normal each night/day.
In your case I would check the BIOS. There you should find options like Wake up on LAN, Wake up on Keyboard and USB Sleep & Charge. Disable all these options because they are consuming power while notebook is turned off.
I did the same after this it lose just 2-4% so its very good! :)

  • My Macbook (2006) with a new battery empties its battery overnight in sleep mode, why?

It's now been six months that I can't use sleep mode if my macbook is unplugged because the battery gets empty overnight. I had to replace my battery three months ago and I thought this would solve my problem. But, although my new battery lasts for over 4 hours, it is completely empty after a night in sleep mode. I checked the Internet but I found nothing. I've tried to reset the energy management system, but it did not good.
The mac really goes into sleep mode (I can see the brightness of the white light change when the lid is closed).
My macbook has a dual boot Mac os Lion and Windows 7 with bootcamp and the problem is the same whether sleeping under Mac OS or under Windows 7.
I tried turning bluetooth and wifi off, but it doesn't change anything.
    I hope someone can help.
    Thanks in advance!

    Thank you for your answer,
I tried to log out and put the computer to sleep, but I still lost 40% of the battery in 10 hours (I reckon it is a little less than when I'm not logged out).
I reset the SMC again, no result either.
The computer does look like it is sleeping, the display is off, the light is changing and if I touch a key of the keyboard, it turn itself back with the sound of the CD check.
Does my answer help the diagnosis?
Would reinstall the whole computer solve my problem?
    Thanks!

  • Battery Empty and Shutdown

    Hi!
My MacBook is Shuting Down when the Battery is empty...normaly is to going in Sleep Mode.Actualy is going to Sleep Mode but just for 2 seconds and then is shuting down...and all my unsaved work is loosing.
    Thanx ,
    Andrea

This is NOT normal behavior. Your MacBook should sleep quite a while before the power gets low enough for it to just shut down. Also, even when the power gets low enough for it to shut down, it goes into deep/safe sleep... which is similar to hibernate on a PC. It will save all of your work before it shuts down so when you start it up again it looks the same as waking from sleep (although it takes a little longer as it has to load everything from your drive).
Have you ever calibrated your battery? Calibrating your battery is what lets your MacBook estimate the remaining time left. If it is not calibrated properly, OS X may think you have plenty of time left, but your battery may be very low. As a result, it will just shutdown because OS X doesn't know that the battery is about to run out and it can't go to sleep and/or safe/deep sleep.
Follow these instruction to calibrate your battery. Be sure to follow the instructions for the MacBook which is about halfway down this page:

  • Battery empties completely during night after update

My battery life was pretty normal before the update, but now with 2.1, it empties completely during the night. I mean really empty, not even one little bit of green left. If this stays like this, it will be a disaster! Does anyone else has this problem?

  • IPod dead - battery emptied during startup

today I wanted to use my iPod. I pushed the button (click-wheel). The Apple-logo appeared. During startup the iPod shut off because the battery was empty.
I connected to USB (USB2.0 via a hub with seperate energy supply) and via the power connector but the iPod does not charge. It is dead. It's impossible to turn it on.
    What can I do?

  • Battery empty in a factory sealed MacBook?

Today I unboxed a brand new factory sealed Macbook Pro Retina 15" ME293B/A (late 2013), and I found its battery completely empty. I tried to turn it on by pressing and holding the power button but it wouldn't turn on. It turned on only when I pluged it in to a socket. This indicates the battery was drained empty. Probably it was stored for a longer than usual time.
My question. Is this case bad for the battery lifetime? Have anyone here experienced this case too?
    Thanks

This can certainly happen.    Nothing necessary really bad, but I would fully charge it and see if it behaves erratically from this point forward.  You are at least under the 1 year warranty, and should be able to bring it in for service if you find it fails to charge.
http://www.apple.com/batteries/ explains the behavior of batteries.
I would also get AppleCare before the machine is a year old from date of purchase.   Register under http://www.apple.com/register/ if you haven't already.  Contact the store you bought it from if you are uncertain what the purchase date was, and used a card to purchase it, or at least find its serial number to give the store.

  • Ipod touch 8GB: battery empties within hours . .

    Hello everbody,
I have recently bought a new computer and after that a new charging device. I can charge the Ipod, and then it`s fully charged!
If i disconnect the Ipod it "empties" within hours, so i can`t use my Ipod anymore. Does somebody know what i can do with this?
    Thanks in advance!
    Regards Arthur

    2 hours sounds pretty bad.
BUT. as others have pointed out, it depends vastly on WHAT you are doing with your ipod during that time.
    are you using it constantly?
are you connected to wifi (or indeed not connected, yet your ipod is set with wifi on, so it is constantly searching for a network)
if you're connected to wifi, are you using that? (i often listen to a three and a half hour radio show on wifi, and that will pretty much kill the battery)
are you watching videos/movies or playing games?
what is your brightness setting? it is advisable to have it at the lowest setting that you can cope with, and turn off the 'auto' function. this will save battery life.
however, if you are just using in sporadically, or listening to music/podcasts, the battery life should last much longer than that, and it may well be worth getting it looked at.
