BBCiplayer

Can anyone tell me why bbciplayer, and only bbciplayer, freeze frames? I've had 2 BT attempts at clearing this issue... Each lasting about an hour. Is there an issue with bandwidth allocation for this particular player?  No other streaming player has this problem with the bt vision box. All players play perfectly on my pc and iPad. 

Is your iPlayer set for High quality and what is your line speed?
To watch iPlayer in high quality (HD) your line speed must be at least 5mb

    Did you try downloading the movie from iTunes on your iPad?  I know it takes longer but I'd try that. 
    Also try to reset all settings. 
    Settings > General > Reset. Reset all settings.

  • Problems with BBCIPLAYER

    ive been using bbciplayer for a while and never had no problems but today i find that i cant download any videos. im connected to wi-fi and i can stream videos perfectly but whenever i click the download button it sends me to a web page and the phone displays "connection not avaiable", ive tried resetting my phone and router ect. but no luck
    anyone else having this problem??

    Any caller display number can in fact be spoofed, so don't assume that it is the number it purports to be.

    Before i had infinity put in i could never watch bbciplayer on my WI console because it kept saying ,"insufficient band width". so when the engineer was here installing infinty i told him this and he said that that wouldn't happen any more with infinty> well gues what, its still a problem. not  happy .CAN ANY BODY ADVISE PLEASE.

    Wireless is unlikely to work, you need a Wii USB to Ethernet adapter, and then connect the Wii to the home hub using an Ethernet cable or Powerline adapters.

    Can the bbciplayer be played back via Apple TV to my tv

    Thanks thats kinda what I have been finding here and on other forums. 
    My projector is widescreen, but classroom projectors are not.  The movies we watch are training videos and probably not HDCP, but just in case how would I find out?
    Any leads on where to find a quality hardware converter?  Most everything I am finding is for VGA to HDMI.  I found this cable with good reviews - do I trust them?  I also found this from HP.

  • Bbciplayer won't install

    Hi Just bought my first Apple product Mac Book Pro was assured in the shop that BBCiplayer would not be a problem to use and I have not been able to install it all.  I am in two minds whether to take the laptop back as this is something I use my Laptop for a lot.  Is there a solution out there?

    What problem are you having?  Are you getting an error message?  What is it?

  • I cannpt play BBCiPlayer, C4 on Demand, etc through Firefox, but I can on Internet Explorer

    Mostly I use BBC iPlayer, but sometimes I go to C4 on Demand or other similar sites. For about two weeks now, I select a programme on any of the BBC tv channels and a caption comes up "This content does not seem to be working, try again later". The same happens on other demand sites. I have reloaded Adobe Flash and Java script, but it makes no difference. I have just tried Internet Explorer and find I can get i Player

    BBC actually has more than one method of streaming audio, and in the UK video, are you in the UK (including for BBC purposes IOM & Channel Isles).
    I am guessing you are using the Flash Player streams, note if you do that FlashPlayer uses different plugins for Firefox and Internet explorer.
    Test BOTH browsers on the adobe site using
    *http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/

    Also ensure Javascript is enabled, and try clearing any site cookies and the browser cache (including iplayer cookies if applicable)

    My BBC iPlayer global has disappeared from the screen and I can't reload it from the app store, nor can I delete from iPad to reinstall

    If you can't find it on any of your homescreens or app folders, and you can't find it via the spotlight search screen (swipe your first home screen to the right), then is it hidden by an app age rating set in Settings > General > Restrictions (I think that the BBC app is rated 17+ due to the TV programmes that it can show) ?
    If not then have you tried a reset to see if you can find it (or re-download it) after the iPad has restarted ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • I can't open any app when I turn the computer on. Mouse has batteries and the screen freezes on 1 app (BBCiplayer) , which obviously is the cause. How can I get rid of this app?

    When I turn on the iMac the screen and apps appear as always. However there is 1 app ( BBC iplayer Desktop) which seems to freeze everything. The mouse works OK but when I click on any app or on the apple logo, nothing happens. I can't even turn it off. What should I do?

  • I am experiencing problems using BBCiPlayer with my iPad 2

    Whilst my iPad has worked fine with the BBC iPlayer for years, three days ago it stopped working. I am either getting the message that I cannot use the iPlayer on this device or else I am getting a message telling me I have insufficient broadband width.
    I have discussed the issue with my Broadband provider and all is fine with the Internet provision.
    All other apps are working normally ie. ITV Player, 4OD etc although SKY on the go seems to think I am offline!
    All other things are working normally.
    I have rebooted. I have removed and reinstalled the player.
    I have tried a different browser.
    I have cleared the data history/cache.
    All without success.
    We have other devices using this app but we have removed them and I am still having problems.
    Any advice would be much appreciated.

    As for the iPad not showing up in iTunes-
    Firstly, make sure that your device is not hidden (left hand pane). If it just reads device then toggle between SHOW and HIDE.
    Secondly, try all the other ports on your computer, even a number of times.
    Thirdly, if you have another computer try plugging your device into it without taking any action, give it a moment, remove it and try it back in your other computer again.

  • On Demand Crash with no error message

    Over the last few days our on demand has stopped allowing us to watch content. We have a broadbamd connection with no speed issues, we can watch BBCiplayer and access all the on demand menus to select what we want. But, as soon as you have selected an on demand title and the box tries to download, the screen freezes with the rotating triangle and the box just stops and reboots! We do not get any error message and at present have no other issues!
    I have done all the obvious suggested things on the help screen (checking cable connections, rebooting, resetting registration ect) and rung BT help but after a frustrating 15 minutes of waiting and repeating our issue (apparantly their systems are running slow) the advisor asked to call back on my mobile. We have minimal signal in our home but we tried and after losing him twice he has not callled back! The advisor had started asking questions about our main BT socket before cut off so i wondered if he thought there might be a connection problem within the house, but I tried redoing all the connections for the hub and powerline adaptors in the main socket and it made no difference to our problem. I have limited knowledge and I just don't know where to start next. 
    We have had issues ever since we switched to BT vision from Sky of the box randomly switching itself off which have not been resolved by the recent software upgrade and I am fed up of paying for something that most of the time we can't use!

  • Broadband drop out

    My broadband drops out and  all the lights flash. Just joined netflix and we can't watch anything as it just keeps buffering.
    At that point I check the bt home hub v2 b and the lights are going crazy. Also at night when I am checking my emails on my tablet the connection will just drop out. I've lost count the many times I've reset the hub. I've pulled all cables and turned off all the things that uses wifi. 
    I've checked bt for b/b faults and my area code is not in a fault area.
    Is it time the hub was changed to the latest bt hub , my sister lives 500yds away she has no problem with the latest bt hub. We have a bt vision box and can never get bbciplayer and other channels on the box.
    Can anyone suggest my net move or should I have a rant at bt?

    when was the last time you renewed your contract?  if more than 12 months then you are on a rolling monthly contract and any discount you had has ceased.  you could save monet by phoning the uk based options team and negotiate a new contract cheaper and at same time get a new hub thrown in  options team 0800800030
    the hh2 is old and has known problems
