BBM Notifications

It seems when I download an app anyone who is in my BBM contact list gets a message that I downloaded that app.
Where can I find the setting so that no one gets this message???
Thank you.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Inside of BBM, press the  key and select Options. Within there will be a BBM Connected Applications section...edit those settings as desired...typically, editing Application Access > BB AppWorld and changing "Connect to BBM" to "Disconnected", as well as setting the last item there "Allow BBAW to connect you with other app users:" to "Prompt".
Good luck!

  • [PlayBook] Sort-order of "MyWorld", "Update all" and notifications

One of the things that bugs me when using the App World on my PlayBook is the fact, that when the "My World" tab features updates, I have to scoll through the whole list to see which Apps got updates and apply them.
Would be much better if they were on top of the list just like on Android 2.2+ devices because it's much usable interface.
Also, an "Update all" button is missing. Because there are no automatic notifications that tell you (without opening the App World App) that there new updates available, it's possible that you only check for updates once a week or less frequent. Then when you check, there are so many updates that clicking those update-buttons makes you angry (or at least annoyed .
So three things an update of the App World on the PlayBook should cover:
    1) display Apps in My World that got updated on top of the list,
    2) check for updates in the background and notify the user via notifications and
    3) add an "Update all" button to click one instead of ten buttons.

Did anyone think about the update all button?
It's still missing in OS 2 but after just having to approve some updates, it continues to be one of the things that would be nice to have

  • Notifications not going away

    Hello
I have a Curve 8330 and I received two notifications on the very top of my screen that I needed to update some apps on my phone. I went into my BlackBerry app word and updated them, but the notification is still on my screen. The same thing is going on with a Facebook notification. I have checked my Facebook, but the icon is still on the top of my screen. Does anyone know how I would remove it?

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
For AppWorld, it is a two-step process:
    1) Go into MyWorld and check all of your apps...update any that have such available -- done.
    2) Go into Messages and find (you can use search for all services and unread messages) the messages from AppWorld...deal with them (read, delete, etc.) and the icon will go away.
For FB, typically the notification stays on until you read your new messages inside of the FB app on the BB (doing so on the FB website from a PC will not clear the icon on the BB). If it's truly stuck, I suggest a batt-pull reboot:
Anytime random strange behaviors creep in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Good luck and let us know!

  • BB Z10 on AT&T: LED Notifications

My BB Z10 on the AT&T network has historically used the LED light to notify me of emails, texts, BBMs, etc when in "Phone Calls Only" notifications mode. Recently it stopped using the LED light in Phone Calls Only mode and I cannot figure out why. After some googling, I discovered that several BB10 users have had this problem with their device from the beginning. I have owned my device for roughly 9 months and the aforementioned issue did not start until last week. Something I may have done different is switch notification profiles via the volume keys on the side, I don't normally do this and noticed the LED stopped working in "Phone Calls Only" mode after I did this. Does anyone have any idea how to get LED notifications for texts, BBMs, emails, etc to work in phone call only notifications mode? I want the phone to be silent and not-vibrate for anything but a phone call while blinking at me for new messages. I understand I can go through and customize the "Normal" notification setting to do this but I like to be able to quickly switch from "Normal" to "Phone Call Only." Just to remove all doubt, I haven't installed an unauthorized OS or side loaded anything onto the Z10. There were not changes to the OS (e.g. updates) that coincided with the start of the issue.

OK, the 1st question would be....how exactly are you switching your "Notification profile" with the volume key??? For  me, that only increases / decreases the media volume regardless where I`m within "Notification"
It is possible that something may have changed in your settings under "Phone calls only". So go to the "Notification" > "Mode: Phone calls only" and see if everything is turned "ON". If it is, then scroll down and tap on "Applications". You will see a list of "Core Applications". You`ll need to open the apps in question to see which one has its notifications turned "OFF" and turn it back "ON"

  • Cant get rid of star notifications

Hi all, I have a BB Curve 8330 and until recently had no issues. Yesterday, I received a call in a dead zone and when I was back in a live zone, there was no record of the call, but there was a star on the Call Log and a 'missed call' notification in the upper right corner of the screen. The call is not important, I know who it was and all that - the problem is that I can't get rid of the star notification and the missed call icon. I've tried rebooting, removing and replacing battery, and messing around with options - but nothing works. I am stuck with the star and the missed call icon, which is annoying because if another missed call comes up, I don't know unless I ferret it out.
    Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Look in your MESSAGES folder for the missed call message, and open or delete it.

  • 10.3.1 Notifications

Updated my Z30 to the update that was released yesterday  - 10.3.1.2243
Mostly everything working as expected but one HUGE glaring problem in my eyes
Still cannot believe how this (if it is a bug) went un noticed
Now have been with BB 10 since 10.1 and have always had my notification settings set to play music
Now when a email- bbm  - text etc etc etc lands the notification will start to play (Could be music that is 4 mins long)
Worked flawlessly in 10.1 and 10.2 and 10.2.1
Now if you did not touch the phone - the notification music would play from start to finish - depending what i chose for notification music - 5 mins +
Ideal for if you are not in the same room as the phone you can hear email  - BBM etc etc land on the phone
But now - the same notification music only plays for 3 or 4 secs
Plays fine in player on phone and also plays fine when you browse for music
But as soon as you hit the arrow to go back to enter the notification
It will only play for 3 or 4 secs when the appropaite notification lands on phone
Has Blackberry changed that you cannot have Music for notifications or something
    Anyone else experiencing this
    Apologies for long post

    Hello,
I enjoyed using TuneIn in the past, but they have not updated their app for BB10 since may 2013...
Your issue is clearly something that must be fixed on their side (just like when Windows8 was released, several programs were not compatible with the new OS). Please contact TuneIn if you wish them to fix the issue.

  • Facebook Notifications

Okay, when I first got my BB I installed Facebook and everything was working perfectly.  The last three days I have not been receiving notifications.  I checked my Facebook settings and all my notifications are set to "on", my email address is correct, and my BB is logged into Facebook.  I have tried reinstalling, turning phone off/on, removing battery...all to no avail.  Can anybody help me?? Please?

....also, I'm very close to sending my BB through a wall right now because I've been trying to troubleshoot this problem all day.

  • Cannot customize contact notifications on BB Classic

I can get custom ringtones for different contacts, but I can't get custom notifications for contacts (a different tone for texts from a specific contact) to work. I see how it's supposed to work (notifications-> contact notifications -> choose a contact, etc.)...but no matter how I set it up, it just doesn't work. I get the same notification for everyone.
Is anyone else having this problem? Any solutions?

Ditto. I just purchased the classic from A&TT and I cannot change the text and email notifications for specific contacts. The ringtone is changed, but not these notifications. It shows them changed, but there is no sound when an email or text comes in from that contact. Do I have the sound turned off somewhere? I had a bold 9900, so this is my first experience with the 10 operating system. I'm not sure what the different profiles mean. Perhaps I don't have something switched on. Anyway, it is aggravating.

  • Unable to customize notifications & wallpaper.

On My BB Z10, after going to System Settings and selecting Notifications, I am unable to customize notifications for contacts & applications. Also I'm not able to change wallpaper. On clicking the select wallpaper option (under Display Settings) , the list of other wallpapers does not come up and nothing happens.
The OS on the device is 10.2.1.3062
    Please Help.

Sounds like you have set up the Blackberry OK to use the wireless internet connection,
but you also need to set up the E-Mail aswell, as you will have a new E-Mail server from your new Internet service provider.
From the Main Menu click "Setup" then either the "Setup Wizard" followed by "E-Mail",
or go straight to "E-mail settings" and follow the on screen instructions.
If you found my answer ( or anyone else's ) to be helpful, don't forget to click the Kudos button !

  • IMAP Notifications broken after 1.3.5 for read messages

After updating my Sprint Palm Pre to 1.3.5, my email notifications do not automatically update their status after messages have been read elsewhere.
For example, prior to 1.3.5, if I recedived 2 new messages on my IMAP account, the Pre would show the notifications for those two messages at the bottom of the screen.  If I then went to a desktop email client and read the two messages on the desktop client, the message status would change to 'Read' on the IMAP server, and the Pre would get rid of the notification for each read message almost instantaneously.   Now, the Pre retains the notification until you actually go into the email app on the phone.
    Anyone else experience this?

Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Sprint)

There was really only one thing I was hoping that 1.4.0 would fix and it was this incredibly annoying bug that was introduced with 1.3.5. It is still present in 1.4.0! Now with LED notifications finally officially supported (which I'm really very thankful for btw) this issue has become more irritating than ever, the phone will continue blinking for emails that have long been read elsewhere.
When can we finally expect a fix for this?

  • Phone not ringing and voicemail notifications on SMS not occurring

Can someone help with this issue as it is beginning to drive me nuts !  Phone is not ringing and any voicemail message is not being notified by SMS.  This seems to have been happening since late 2013 but can't be sure of that.  Is this a SIM card issue, or a possible software issue.

    Could be either.
Are you using a Q10?  Your profile doesn't show a device or carrier.  it really helps us if you have that info added to your profile.  Since you're posting in the Q10 forum I'll assume you have a Q10.
I would do a security wipe on the device first:
To perform a Security Wipe please follow the instructions below. Be sure and use BB Link to make a full backup before proceeding with the wipe:
    http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB33591
Once the wipe is complete you can restore your backup. Keep in mind that data in the backup may be the source of the original problem and restoring it may restore the problem, as well. To alleviate this I recommend not restoring the Settings portion of the backup.

  • Calendar Notifications / Alerts / Reminders killing my battery

I haven't found any comments on this specifically....
I have noticed that if I leave a calendar notification/reminder on the screen, my battery dies very rapidly.  With the phone in airplane mode, a notification on the screen seems to kill the battery in 6-8 hours (maybe less).  If I disable notifications and leave the phone in airplane mode, the battery drops only ~ 5-10% in 6-8 hours.
It looks like pulseaudio, mediaserver, and LunaSysMgr are all pretty active while the notificaiton is on the screen.  (I left top running before a notification appeared so I could see what was going on.)
Has anyone else seen this?  Perhaps it is well-known and I am missing it in my searches.
Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Sprint)

I saw this before the most recent update.  I had noticed that my battery life was generally better on weekends than during the week.  It has always been that way.  One big difference is that I tend to have a lot of calendar appointments during the work day, and I don't always dismiss them.
In the process of looking at possible improvements (kernels, etc.), I happened to leave Govnah open and noticed that the CPU was running at the higher/max frequency all the time when I had the "on demand" governer enabled when I turned on my phone and there was a notification/reminder on the screen.  As soon as I dismissed it, the frequency went down.
So, I went back to the default config and left top running and noticed pulseaudio was running, etc..  With the "normal" / default kernel running, I see the same behavior -- my battery dies very quickly if I leave notifications on the screen (even with the phone in airplane mode).
To clarify... airplane mode is not required to see the issue.  I only enabled that as a debug step to eliminate differences due to being connected to a network, etc..  This issuce occurs in airplane mode or when connected to 3G, etc..
