Hi,
Try using Recovery Manager to reinstall the IDT High Definition Audio driver ( this will also re-install the Beats Audio interface ) - details on using Recovery Manager to reinstall software and drivers can be found on the link below.
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01868333&tmp_task=solveCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&lc...
After the re-installation has completed, restart the PC.

I have tried the windows recovery step without any luck and downloading the drivers and beats software with the same results. there is no sound coming out from my speakers either, when i try to test to sound it says "failed to play the testtone" ( my own translation from swedish). but the test is succesfull when testing the earplugs.
    thanks in advance

    Hi,
    Try the following.
Download the IDT Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.
    http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp55001-55500/sp55094.exe
When done, open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Sound, Video and Game Controllers.  Right click the IDT device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall.
When complete, download and reinstall the Chipset drivers on the following link.
    http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp55001-55500/sp55095.exe
Whn the Chipset driver reinstallation has completed, shutdown the notebook.
Then unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery.  Hold down the Power button for 30 seconds.  Re-insert the battery and plug in the AC Adapter.
Tap away at the esc key as you start the notebook to launch the Start-up Menu and then select f10 to enter the bios menu.  Press f9 to load the defaults ( this is sometimes f5, but the menu at the bottom will show the correct key ), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.  Press f10 to save the setting and again use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.
Let Windows fully load - it may well automatically load an audio driver, but just let this complete.  Then open your Downloads folder, right click on the IDT installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation.  When this has completed, right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select Playback Devices.  Left click 'Speakers and Headphones' once to highlight it and then click the Set Default button - check if you now have audio.

    Hi,
No it won't effect any of your files etc.  Recovery Manager can be used to reinstall the operating system, but the process described in the link on my previous post is just for reinstalling specific software or drivers.
If your at all concerned about using Recovery Manager for this, you could instead try downloading and installing the IDT Audio codec from the link below.  Either method is fine.

  • Startup error: ldaprealm.properties (The system cannot find the file specified)

    Hello,
I'm starting WebLogic from JBuilder 3.5; before using the LDAP realm
    everything worked fine.
After adding the following entry to the weblogic.properties file
    weblogic.security.realmClass=weblogic.security.ldaprealm.LDAPRealm
the WLS states following error message:
    java.io.FileNotFoundException: ldaprealm.properties (The system cannot
    find the file specified)
The ldaprealm.properties file is located in the WL_HOME dir (same location
    as weblogic.properties)
I've start WLS with -Duser.dir=c:\weblogic, but it didn't affect my problem.
When starting WLS with startWebLogic.cmd, everything works fine but no
    practicalbe for me,
because I've to start in form JBuilder in order to enable remote debugging.
Thanx for your help in advance,
    Michael

    http://www.bea.com/support/askbea/wls/S-06632.shtml
ldaprealm.properties has to be in %WinDir%\System32 to be picked up by a WLS 5.1 server run as a service and LDAPRealm enabled.
Still getting interesting LDAP errors, but the file is being picked up on startup.

  • 7-Zip 'system cannot find the file specified' not letting me download?

I'm about to throw my laptop to the other side of the room, run up to it and beat it with a baseball bat.
I had to reset my system because I got a virus earlier[completely annoying] and I tried re-downloading Firefox through IE.
First off, IE is complete cr*p.
Second, I've gone to a lot of forums and pages trying to solve this issue.
I keep getting this when I try to download. It hits a point and then:
"7-zip: The system cannot find the file specified"
and then "Your download was interrupted"
I'm running Windows 8 on an Asus laptop.
Please help me solve this or I'm going to do something drastic.
I can't live with Internet Explorer as my main browser. I just can't.
    Thank you.

I wonder if you've tried downloading from Mozilla's server.
    *ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/29.0.1/win32/
Simply select your locale (en-US is default English) and download the "Firefox Setup 29.0.1.exe". Errors like this are generally solved by downloading from a different place. I don't have a Windows PC to test out if the files are okay.

  • I use Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010, when clicking a link in Outlook I always get a General Failure box stating 'The system cannot find the file specified' yet it still goes to the specified page. Any ideas on how to resolve this

I use Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010, when clicking a link in Outlook I always get a box stating
General Failure. The URL was "http:// etc etc".The system cannot find the file specified.
Yet it still goes to the specified page. Any ideas on how to resolve this

I am having the exact same problem with Windows 7 Professional. Out of the blue, this issue just started a few months ago when running my monthly Windows Backup where I have used a USB drive for the last 3 years, and never ever had this issue before. Most
of the solutions listed on the Microsoft websites and answers deal with
    "Restore" functions, not the
"Backup" itself. I have 3 folders being skipped during the backup.
So I went and changed the Backup from "let Microsoft choose files, directories, etc" to "Let me choose". I included the files and folders that were being skipped, and ran the "Backup" again, and got the same error message,
but the files that were skipped the first time were "Backed up" finally. This issue is somehow related to my "Libraries"?
    The 3 backup problems are:
Backup encountered a problem while backing up file C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\My Audio Books\Audio Book Recordings. Error:(The system cannot find the path specified. (0x80070003))
Backup encountered a problem while backing up file C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\My Audio Books\Audio Book CD Label-Cover Art. Error:(The system cannot find the path specified. (0x80070003))
Backup encountered a problem while backing up file C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\My Audio Books\Audio Book MP3 Tag Art. Error:(The system cannot find the path specified. (0x80070003))
Did a "checkdisk" - no problems. Ran a program to fix registry - no problems. All updates up to date. I guess I could eliminate these folders from the Backup folders in the
Library, and just choose them under the "Users" locations, and be done with it. But I really want to understand this, and fix it. This is within Windows 7 and may be related to Windows Media Player or
    some recent Windows update.  Thanks.

  • Error: ldaprealm.properties (The system cannot find the file specified)

    Hi,
I'm getting the following error message when starting up WLS
    java.io.FileNotFoundException: ldaprealm.properties
(The system cannot find the file specified)
This seems to me as if ldaprealm.properties isn't in the
    proper place/dir.
The docu tells me to put it to WL_HOME - and there
    it resides.
I cannot start WLS with the startWebLogic.cmd file (which
alway works fine), because I'm forced to do it via JBuilder.
Maybe someone can tell me a property to change the
    startup dir (-Duser.dir=c:\weblogic doesn't work)
    thanx in advance,

This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Please take this step regardless of the results of Step 1.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.

If your Mac is new-ish and has one of the Lions as its OS, the drives, cards, USB sticks no longer show up, even though they're there. Go to Finder's Preferences and tick the corresponding items in the General and Sidebar tabs.

    CA Forum: Crystal Reports
    Hi,
I am currently developing an ASP.NET website using Visual Studio.NET 2005. I am using the .NET 2.0 framework, VB.NET as my programming language and I connect successfully to a SQL Server 2005 database.  I can select, insert, update and delete data from the database elsewhere in my project, so I know basic connectivity isn't an issue.  The problem seems to be with Crystal Reports.
I created a folder called 'Reports' in my project and added a Crystal Report file (OpenFiles.rpt) to it.  I designed the report and initally used a hard-coded SQL query as its datasource so I could quickly get the database fields onto the report and preview them.  All worked fine.
To make the report accessible to the rest of the website, I created an .xsd dataset file containing the three tables (and their corresponding tableadapters) that the report requires and then redeveloped the report using the dataset as the datasource for the report.  After doing this, the preview no longer worked.
Next, I added a page to the website and dragged a Crystal Report Viewer Control onto it.  In the code behind the page I wrote:
    Option Strict On
    Imports System.Data
    Imports CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine
    Imports CrystalDecisions.Shared
    Partial Class Reports
         Inherits System.Web.UI.Page

         Dim strStaffId As String
         Dim strReportId As String
         Private Sub ConfigureCrystalReports()
Dim reportPath As String = Server.MapPath("OpenFiles.rpt")
              Dim rptopenfiles As New ReportDocument
rptOpenFiles.Load(reportPath)  <== I checked this during execution and the value correctly points to the OpenFiles.rpt file in the Reports     folder of my project
Dim ConnectionInfo As ConnectionInfo = New ConnectionInfo()
              ConnectionInfo.DatabaseName = my database
ConnectionInfo.UserID = login id of user
              ConnectionInfo.Password = user's password
              SetDBLogonForReport(ConnectionInfo, rptopenfiles)
              CrystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = rptopenfiles
         End Sub
Protected Sub Page_Init(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Init
             ConfigureCrystalReports()
         End Sub
Private Sub SetDBLogonForReport(ByVal ConnectionInfo As ConnectionInfo, ByVal myReportDocument As ReportDocument)

Dim myTableLogonInfo As TableLogOnInfo = myTable.LogOnInfo
                   myTableLogonInfo.ConnectionInfo = ConnectionInfo
                   myTable.ApplyLogOnInfo(myTableLogonInfo)
              Next
         End Sub
    End Class
I added a hyperlink to one of the existing pages on the website to navigate to this page with the report viewer on it.  When I run the website in Visual Studio and click on the hyperlink I get the following:

Also, assuming I can get past this error, I will need to figure out how to fill the tables in the .xsd dataset file.  I have written a class for the dataset that includes functions that populate the tables in the dataset from the database by executing SQL queries.  But how do I call these functions at the time the report is run?
This is my first Crystal report written in .NET and I've been struggling with it for days now.  Any help would be most appreciated!
    Thanks very much!

hello, the error message is obviously coming from one of the installed mcafee extensions. please directly contact mcafee technical support - they can likely give you more detailed guidance and are the only ones who can fix bugs or make necessary adjustments in the addon.

    You can't do that.
And before you decide to store any music that you own on a computer at work, talk to your IT department. Many organizations do not permit it for legal reasons. Standard policies are that anything stored on company owned computers is the property of the company. It could not be legally stored on their machines unless you transfer the licenses and all copies, physical and digital, to the company, meaning you no longer own the music. If they were to be audited and could not prove that they own the music, they would be subject to copyright violation penalties. Just use your iPod when you're at the office if you want to listen to music.

  • App-v 4.6: cannot find the file specified

    Hi,
    Please see my previous
    post.
In short: an application needs Internet Explorer activex, then a plugin for Excel. My App-v package is working (Internet Explorer opening), but the Excel plugin does not work. It says "cannot find the file specified".
I copied the excel shortcut from start menu to q:\packagename.
    Please advise.
    J.
    Jan Hoedt
In .osd file of Excel plugin, there is the following:
        <CODEBASE HREF="RTSP://%SFT_SOFTGRIDSERVER%:554/WindowsX64/Application/1.0/excelplugin.sft" GUID="9FA88591-089E-4E57-89D5-C23239E83238" PARAMETERS="" FILENAME="%CSIDL_PROGRAM_FILES%\Microsoft Office\Office12\EXCEL.EXE"
    SYSGUARDFILE="applic.001\osguard.cp" SIZE="305879730"/>
            <WORKINGDIR>%CSIDL_PROGRAM_FILES%\Microsoft Office\Office12</WORKINGDIR>
The CSIDL_PROGRAM_FILES%, is that correct? If not, can I change it and how? Should I then reimport the package?
I might have found a solution but please advise:
    http://blog.gridmetric.com/2011/09/26/possible-caveats-in-mixing-32-bit-and-64-bit-app-v-packages-and-environments/
Office is x86, so I probably should change the %CSIDL_Programfiles% to %programfiles(x86)%?

Changing CSIDL_PROGRAM_FILES to  %programfiles(x86)% is worth a try.
A common reason for that 'cannot find the file..' error message also often can be resolved by removing the Workingdir entry (<WORKINGDIR></WORKINGDIR>  or just <WORKINGDIR/>.
The way to apply the change depends on your deployment scenario. With an App-V Management Server (and for a test packae) you could modify (a copy of) the original .OSD file in the content share. Make sure you save with 'save as' and then 'Unicode'. Then
re-initiate a Server Refresh from the client, that should download the new OSD.
You also could - if it is permitted - create a copy of the client-local copy of the OSD file (you can figure that out with the Client Management Console). Double-Clicking that modified copy could do the trick.
If you use another deployment method (SCCM, MSI) you would need to moify the OSD file using the App-V Sequencer.
Whatever method you use during troubleshooting: For the 'final' pacage you should open the original package on the Sequencer ('Edit'), make the changes there and re-save + re-deploy the package. This makes sure that all information is consitent across the
    various App-V files

    Well done ;-)
