BEFW11s4 version four router configuration issues

Our wireless router quits sending out the wireless signal once a day. I called linksys and they had me get the new firmware, which solved the problem for about two weeks, but now the router is up to all the old tricks of not working. We have At&T (formerlly SBC) DSL internet. All the lights are lit up on the DSL box, and when I connect the router, the power, the wireless-b, the ethernet, and the internet lights all light up the way they should. Yet on the computers that hook up through the wireless connection it is limited or no connectivity. I keep trying to run the set up CD that came with the router, but every time it gets to the stage of configuring the router it stalls at 99% and then says it can not configure the router (despite that all the lights are on and working). I have tried numerous times to unplug it and holding the reset button and none of this is working.
I have also tried setting a static IP in network connections instead of having it find it automatically and this did not work either. I am really at a loss.
I searched the easy answers tips and can not find anything to help me. If anyone can help I would really appreciate it.

  • Router configuration issue

    Dear friends,
I am using windows 2000 server and linksys WRH54G router in my network. Ip of my server is 192.168.121.1 and Ip of my router is 192.168.121.5. I have set router provided by my ISP onbridge mode and have configured the wireless router with static IP address and have enabled DHCP for the LAN from linksys wireless router. But the problem i am facing now is that the machine in network takes IP from the router as DHCP is enabled but the default gateway they take is also the router's ip which is 192.168.121.5 and the dns address is taken of my ISP which i have mentioned in the router. My problem is that when any machine with this type of configuration tries to access other machines in LAN they are not able to do so. Every time they try to access LAN machine the machine will ask them password. Internet will work fine. But then when i assign the machine static IP with default gateway as 192.168.121.1 then those machines will able to access other LAN machines without any problem. And then after that even if I change the default gateway to 192.168.121.5 there won't be any problem. But if they restart the machine again they will face same problem and again i have to make changes in their default gateway.I guess I have made some mistake while configuring my router. Guys please help me out. For tech gurus in here these will be piece of cake. Thanks in advance. Hope to hear from you soon.

    Hi peanuts,
I disabled DHCP server and client services on windows server 2000 and enabled DHCP on router but then nobody was able to access the network. Everybody was only able to access internet. I need to enale DHCP service on windows 2000 but then if I use the default gateway as 192.168.121.1 and DNS as 192.168.121.1 for couple of minutes and when i change both back to 192.168.121.5 then both internet and LAN will work fine (until the next restart) but for that i need to change the gateway and DNS manually. So please guide me on how to configure it so that i don't have to change it again and again. Thanks.

  • Linksys BEFW11S4 version 3.2 need help finding software setup

Hey i have a wireless access point router its older and i lost the software disk and the support page on here only has firmware ugrades it had a setup wizard but everytime i download it and launch it it brings up a firmware upgrader      the router is the linksys BEFW11S4    version 3.2     if any1 knows where i can find the software to install it to my computer please help me find thanks

Don't worry if you have lost the disk, you can configure your router manually...You can set-up your router manually by entering it's default ip address, 192.168.1.1, no username and default password is admin...

  • Router setup issue, another linksys in close proximity

Hi, I'm having trouble setting up an older BEFW11S4 Wireless-B router. I used to have it working intermittently, it would always randomly drop out and sometimes take forever to reconnect. Tonight I couldn't even see the network anymore so I decided to reset the router and start over. The problem is that I live in a condo with numerous other networks, one is an unsecured default linksys network. When I go on line to make changes, it connects to the 'other' network. How do I connecto to my own router?
    Thanks...

    Firmware Version: 1.52.02, Apr 7 2005
    MAC Address: 00-0F-66-DF-80-70
    Internet
    Configuration Type
    Login Type: DHCP
    Internet IP Address: 0.0.0.0
    Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
    Default Gateway: 0.0.0.0
    DNS 1: 0.0.0.0
    DNS 2: 0.0.0.0
    DNS 3: 0.0.0.0
    MTU: 1500
Doesn't look good? I don't know anything about this stuff really, but I'd assume that means it isn't transmitting as it should be. My computer tells me that it is connected with excellent signal strength, but obviously won't connect to the internet???? I appreciate the feedback

  • LAG configuration issue on Cisco SG300 52 Switch

    Hi everybody,
I am having an issue with LAG configuration on a Cisco SG300 52 switch. I have connected four Ge ports on the switch to the four NICs of a Dell R710 Server on which I installed Windows Server 2008 R2. Without LAG configured, these ports would forward traffic to and from the Dell server fine. However, if I configure LAG on the ports with LACP enabled, then they would not forward any network traffic. Debugging shows that the ports are up but their forwarding status show N/A. Am I missing any configuration? Can I configure LAG on edgeports? Or is there any compatibility issue?
Any help  from you guys will be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.
    Vishal

    Hi Dave,
Thank you for your quick response and sorry to have looked at it late. Well, I already resolved the issue and like you pointed out, it was the configuration of the Dell NICs. I had to configure NIC teaming and there was a bug with the Broadcom NIC management software. I had to download this piece of software again and I was then able to configure NIC teaming on it. I initially thought that it was already configured because we got the Dell server "pre-installed with pretty much everything".
Anyway thank you for your assistance. Oh I have a question though if you don't mind clearing my doubt. We have bought 7 of these SG300 Switches and I would like to use all of them
in a hierarchical design as core, distribution and access layer switches because I believe this switch has got all the qualities to be used at all the three layers. We have about 100 users in our company at the moment but expecting growth of about 10-20 employees per year. Would you think a hierarchical network design for a 100 users is a bit of an overkill? Would you think these SG300 switches can handle network traffic at the distribution and core layers? I worked out the average daily traffic is only about 4 Mbps.
Thank you for your valuable guidance.
    Kind regards,
    Vishal

    Hi Chundunsing,
Thank you for the purchase of my switch.
Chundunsing, I love the way you worded your question ; "I am having an issue with LAG configuration on a Cisco SG300 52 switch." ,but seriously you are having a problem with interfacing the dell with my switch.
You have LAG working to the Dell R710 teamed NICs and god knows what NICs or drivers you are using to acheive this.
Now LAG is providing , load balancing between the LAG ports.
Now LAG is providing , link redundancy for connectibity to the Dell R710.
If there is a configuration issue , it sure seems the way you have it configured without LACP is still working. But you have the option when you create a LAP group to enable LACP. You can see this as a tick box in the LAG group.
But might i also install, recently firmware version 1.1.1.8, just came out.
    Please be sure to;
Step 1. update the firmware on the switch and
Step 2. select it as the 'active image.'
Step 3 rebbot the switch to utilize this active image.
If you are having any trouble doing this the admin guide references how to achieve this. for your concenience I have atteched the guide to this posting.
    regards Dave

All my certificates on the Exchange 2013 and Lync 2013 servers are from my local CA.
I use APP with the public certificates as my reverse proxy for people connecting from outside the network.
In Lync, the OAuthTokenIssuer certificate created through the Lync deployment wizard is issued to domainname.local (my primary sip domain) and the Subject Alternative names include domainname.co.uk
I then exported this certificate to the Exchange Server and use the Set-AuthConfig to use this certificate for OAuth.
from what I read this was what I was supposed to do.
    is this correct?
I have tried so many things I don't know what do to next.
Should the OAuth certificate in exchange be the one exported from Lync?
In Lync, should the OAuthTokenIssuer certificate include the servername or lyncserver.domainname.local or just be domainname.local like it is at the moment?

    Thomas,
thanks for giving this the time. I have run the Configure-EnterpriseApplication.ps1 script following by remove-PartnerApplication so many times that I was wondering if there are other setting that
Configure-EnterpriseApplication.ps1 creates that aer not removed when you run
    remove-PartnerApplication.
is there a way to completely remove everything that is confirmed when you run
Configure-EnterpriseApplication.ps1 so I can run Configure-EnterpriseApplication.ps1 without there being any configurations left from when I previously run that command?
    thanks

  • [svn] 3420: Fix for Runtime Configuration issues.

    Author: [email protected]
    Date: 2008-09-30 11:13:54 -0700 (Tue, 30 Sep 2008)
    Log Message:
Fix for Runtime Configuration issues. If the destination is initialized, then you'll want to initialize the instance when it is created. Otherwise, you want to wait until the destination is initialized. Typically, when using runtime configuration, the destination is not initialized and the instance is not initialized, instead the properties on the instance are set.

Hi JBKL, and a warm welcome to the forums!
For the Ethernet Location... Is that Interface dragged to the top of Network>Show:>Network Port Configurations?
It may be that the Router needs a Firmware update to keep up with the OS Updates... check online, don't trust any automatic checking feature in the Router.
    Where are we now?

  • DNS Server does not resolve new generic Top Level Domain names- CNR configuration issue?

    Hi all,
I am not sure if this is the correct community to post this question, but I will give it a try. I noticed that the users of my network cannot resolve web sites using new top level domain names, like ".education", ".international", etc. I have an internal DNS server made by Infoblox and a Cisco CNR v6.3.3.1 as an external DNS server. Infoblox uses CNR as its forwarder and CNR uses the root DNS servers for queries.
I would think that CNR was the problem because it is an obsolete product but after speaking with a fellow engineer at another organization where they still use an older version of CNR than mine, they have no problems at all. So now I am thinking it is a setting either on Infoblox, or on CNR I need to change. I can see Infoblox is forwarding the requests to CNR but that's about it. I am not sure if CNR is discarding the request. When I do an nslookup from a PC in my network it does not matter if I set my DNS server to be the Infoblox or the CNR. Neither resolves the URL.
Then again, no matter what I lookup using the CNR as my DNS, I only get a response with the root DNS names and IPs!
    Any help is appreciated!

    Hi Constantinos,
Have you taken a look at the infoblox community site?  We've just reposted your question there and alerted some internal SMEs that should provide a solution soon.

  • Cisco Router View issue

    Dear All,
I have configured ZFS 6.5 on Netware
I have a Cisco 2500 Router, configured SNMP like -
    snmp-server community public RW
    snmp-server enable traps snmp
    snmp-server enable traps isdn call-information
    snmp-server enable traps isdn layer-2
    snmp-server enable traps hsrp
    snmp-server enable traps config
    snmp-server enable traps entity
    snmp-server enable traps bgp
    snmp-server enable traps rsvp
    snmp-server enable traps frame-relay
    snmp-server enable traps rtr
    snmp-server host 192.168.10.2 public
My ZFS server's ip is 192.168.10.2, i have given Router's Lan ip to
NetExplorer's Router Seed also now my Router is been discovered via ZFS and
it is shown in Atlas View also, I have tried to double click on it, then it
shows Services within Services i can see Switch/Bridge, but by Double
Clicking it a "Unified Port Traffic View" Dialog Box Appears which says,
"Discovery could not retrieve the complete property of this node".

  • Lost internet connection BEFW11S4 version 4

I need help. I have just upgraded the firmware on the linksys. Since I have done that I haven't been able to get internet connection on my two laptops. Only on my desktop I was receiving the connection. Someone told me to restore to the factory settings and reboot the linksys system. I tried to do that and now I don't have internet connection on my desktop either. I went through all the steps to set it up and it says that the rounter is working properly, but I just don't have internet connection. I don't know what else to do. Please help.
My router is BEFW11S4 version 4

    Hi,
Follow the steps to make your router work
    Launch an Internet browser.
    b) On the Address bar, type 192.168.1.1, then hit Enter.
    c) A login screen will appear.
    d) Type "admin" for the password and leave the username blank or empty then hit Enter.
Go to "Mac address Clone" a subtab of setup tab, click on clone your PC's Mac, then save the Settings.
After that remove the power from the router and the cable modem, and then after 10 sec replug the power 1st into the modem and then into the Linksys router.
You will be up n running !

  • WRV200 Configuration Issues

I just bought my WRV200 the other day and today updated its firm ware to v.1.0.32.2 and have had issues with the router restarting several (sometimes up to 5 or 6 times) in a row after I try to save some changes to the router configuration. Namely, I have been trying to disable HTTPS remote access. To add insult to injury, after it has restarted several times, I check the configuration only to find out nothing has changed.
I have kept track of some of the logs while all of this was happening. The first sign of trouble I saw began with the line that said:
"klogd: cfi_cmdset_0002: Disabling fast programming due to code brokenness."
After that point the router began its restarting spree. I've attempted to reconfigure it twice after the initial time, only disabling the "Use HTTPS" in the remote access segment of Administration/Management.
Does anybody out there have any solutions that I might try? I'm certainly open to whatever you might suggest.
    Thank you in advance,
    ~Seth

Firmware 1.0.33 works better than 1.0.32.2. You could get it from
    http://www.linksysinfo.org/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=57
To get the best mileage, be sure to reset the rotuer to factory default and configure it from scratch - according to the release note.

  • I just restored my 13" MBP i5 at the apple store to the newest version of Lion after issues with a previous Time Machine backup from Snow Leopard- this time I created a new account and just ported files and folders, and now MS Office doesn't work. Help?

I just restored my 13" MBP i5 at the apple store to the newest version of Lion after issues with a previous Time Machine backup from Snow Leopard- this time I created a new account and just ported files and folders, and now MS Office doesn't work.
^^ that's the main problem. Here's the full history.
I bought a new 13" i5 MBP, early 2011 edition. I had an old white Macbook 2.14 ghz core2duo on Snow Leopard. I attempted to port over my time machine backup, but encountered problems in that my User was inaccessible from the new computer after the import finished, and I had to go in and change the root password, etc, and for some reason or another, I couldn't install any programs at all from that administrator's account. By "couldn't" I mean I could install them, but upon installation they would never boot. So, I took it to the apple store and did a clean install from the most up to date Lion OSX. Then, I created a brand new admin account, instead of trying to import the old one, and things seemed great. Then, I just imported my old files from the TM backup, but not any system settings, permissions, or user data. Just my Docs, pics, vids, apps, and itunes stuff.
Here's where things get weird again. I imported this stuff under the name "old", but all of these folders have a red negative sign on them, marking them as restricted. So, from my main admin account, I cannot even peruse these folders. Since I didn't import user data, I can't sign in to the "old" account to change permissions. I already tried to change the permissions from system preferences, but that didn't change anything. And now, for whatever reason, of all the apps that were imported then, MS Office is the only set of apps that does not work. When I click on it, it just says there was a problem and asks if I'd like to send a report to apple. I tried reinstalling it to no avail. I'm an English student, so i really need access to Word. Can anyone help? The Apple store is a major detour for me and would like to fix this issue myself.

Most likely you have Office 2004 which are PPC-only applications and will not work in Lion. Upgrade to Office 2011. Other alternatives are:
Apple's iWork suite (Pages, Numbers, and Keynote.)
Open Office (Office 2007-like suite compatible with OS X.)
    NeoOffice (similar to Open Office.)
LibreOffice (a new direction for the Open Office suite.)
