Beginning of Month Inventory

Hi all,
I am on BW 3.5.  I have an inventory cube which uses the BX,BF and UM extractor to populate.  It is working fine (or as well as those extractors ever work).  However, when I run a report by month, it shows me inventory totals for the end of the month.  What I want is beginning of them month.  For example:
Current
Material    Month                     Inv Qty
6001        01/2009                  50
6001        02/2009                  75
6001        03/2009                  90
What I want is:
Material   Month                     Inv Qty
6001       02/2009                  50
6001       03/2009                  75
6001       04/2009                  90
Same data - just the calmonth has been incremented.  Is there anyway to do this?
Thanks.
Dave

Hi,
Use 2LIS_03_BX, 2LIS_03_BF, 2LIS_03_UM to 0IC_C03 Cube and design the report.
Use :
0VALSTCKVAL   " for Value
0VALSTCKQTY   " for Qty
0CALMONTH        " for Month
Use the above combinations in New Selections in columns and go it.
For Qty Opening:
New Selection bad drag abd drop following things
0VALSTCKQTY   " for Qty
0CALMONTH        " for Month and restrict with less then or equalto option variable (single value, user input)  and set the offeset
value = -1 bcoz if user will give 12.2009 , so it will display 11.2009 closing stock, this is opening for 12.2009.
For Qty Closing:
New Selection bad drag abd drop following things
0VALSTCKQTY   " for Qty
0CALMONTH        " for Month and restrict with less then or equalto option variable (single value, user input) .
In the same way build for Value and other Keyfigures on 0IC_C03.
And
Drag & drop
0MATERAIL
0PLANT  " Give some Input Variable.
See the steps.
Treatment of historical full loads with Inventory cube
Setting up material movement/inventory with limit locking time
If it is BI 7 then for BX in in DTP in Extraction Tab you need to select Extacrion mode = NON-Cumulative option.
Thanks

  • Inventory Management: Month beginning and ending inventory levels

    Hello,
I need to have beginning and end of month inventory levels. I havent been given any functional specs . The only favor I would like from you is to know what standard chars and key figs you are using in your rows and column. And how are you using the objects in the forumla Naveen A suggested in the thread [SAP Business Explorer (SAP BEx);.
Specially where he mentions formula, I would like to know what key figures does it consist of and are they restricted to the current or prior month.
Let the end inventory be the same way and the begin inventory be as end inventory - ( total receipts current month - total issues current month).
    Thanks

    Anyone...Naveen A ....Arun????
    This is a simple one...

  • Inventory Management 0IC_C03: Beginning and ending inventory

    Hi Gurus
My report is based on Inventory Management cube and I have a requirement where in I need to show Begining Inventory and Ending Inventory for Plant per Period.
There is no KF for Beginning Invin SAP standard model in inventory management cube (0IC_C03 cube), so I thought to restricting total quantity by Fiscal period and Offset by minus one to get begining inventory.
    Here is my report layout:
I have got : Period , Plant in rows and Beginning and ending inventory in Columns.
    Desired Output:
Fiscal Period | Plant |  |  Begining Inventory | Ending Inventory.
    03/2009        |  1001 |    100                       |  50
    Actual Report output
Fiscal Period | Plant |  |  Begining Inventory | Ending Inventory.
    02/2009        |  1001 |                 100          |
    03/2009        |  1001 |                                |  50
So basically report is being split on two lines for current and previous (due to restriction in begining period : Offset =-1 on period).
Question is how to achieve both begining and ending inventory for a period in same line.
Thanks in avdance for help and time
    SA

    HI Naveen
Thanks for the reply. Non *** KF are already being used and Standard SAP model is being followed. Problem is not with back end but with frontend. Data coming on the report is fine but problem is how to show them on same line. Remember Beginning inventory for current open is ending inventory for previous month and  in SAP content there is no KF called as begining inventory. Basically data from two consecutive periods (current and previous one) needs to be on same row of report, but they are coming on different rows if we have period in drilldown by period. this makes sense but how to overcome this.
This, We have all the correct data but facing issue while displaying that on frontend.
    Thanks

  • Why my Illustrator CC is now very slow for opening a 2MB AI file (about 5 minutes), at the beginning (1 month ago) it was very fast (10 seconds).

Why my Illustrator CC is now very slow for opening a 2MB AI file (about 5 minutes), at the beginning (1 month ago) it was very fast (10 seconds).

Assuming that you system meets minimal requirements for CC, make sure you have enough space on your hard drive. By saying enough, I try not to cross 3/4 of its capacity but trivially saying, the more free space the better and the faster the drive the better (I've been considering an SSD drive but still running a regular HDD).
If you are on Windows, clean up the %TEMP% folder regularly and keep the disk neat using the defragmentation tool.
Click Start>Run>enter %temp% , wait for the files to load and select all, hit Shift+DEL to remove them permanently.
For the defrag tool, you can use either the defrag /? command from the command line or right-click the drive, click Properties > Tools > Defragmentation>Defragment Now
Other than that it requires deeper analysis to find performance bottleneck.

  • (We are using Dreamweaver CS6 on a Mac) We have been able to update our monthly magazine website with no problems through October 2014, but we suddenly could not "put" updated pages online beginning last month. I get an error message: "An FTP error occurr

When I saw this, I clicked on “Check Browser Capability” and I got this result, showing several identical red flags: “• 47 Extra Whitespace in List Links Bug (If a link with display: block and no explicit dimensions is inside a list item, any spaces or linebreaks that follow the list item in the code will cause extra whitespace to appear in the browser. Affects: Internet Explorer 6.0. Likelihood: Very Likely.”
I should add that no adjustments were made to the site before it stopped working. Is there a bad code that might have gone in during an automatic update?

It's pretty unlikely that a code issue (what that check compatibility is looking at) would cause your FTP to stop functioning. That compatibility tester is essentially outdated junk anyway. The 6 people left on the planet that still use IE6 won't mind if your site doesn't look right, nothing does to them.
It's not unusual for certain hosting companies, GoDaddy is a good example, to simply lose your FTP credentials after a server update, which would cause the FTP error you are seeing.
Check with your hosting company and verify your FTP settings are correct.

  • OTB ( Open to Buy ) settings for SD

    Hi,
Could anyone provide information on how to set up OTB in SD module.
    Regards
    Rasheed

    Hi Rasheed
Good inventory control is critical to ensuring an adequate level of stock is on hand for the amount of sales being generated. Having too much inventory (or the wrong type) during certain periods can slow your cash flow and reduce profits with too many markdowns. On the other hand, if you under buy and miss sales opportunities then you are not making your potential profit. A retailer can be sure to stock the right amount of the right products at the right time by using an Open-To-Buy (OTB) plan.
Open-To-Buy can be calculated in either units or dollars. OTB is essentially the difference between how much inventory is needed and how much is actually available. This includes inventory on hand, in transit and any outstanding orders.
In order to take advantage of special buys or to add new products, some of the OTB dollars should be held back. This also allows the retailer to react to fast-selling items and quickly restock shelves.
Consider maintaining an OTB plan for your business as a whole, but also plan for each category of merchandise you stock. The plan can be maintained on paper, in a spreadsheet or by purchasing one of the several retail software packages available that contain Open-To-Buy programs.
    The Open-To-Buy Formula
    Planned Sales
    + Planned Markdowns
+ Planned End of Month Inventory
    - Planned Beginning of Month Inventory
    = Open-To-Buy (retail)
For example, a retailer has an inventory level of $150,000 on July 1st and planned $152,000 End of Month inventory for July 31st. The planned sales for the store are $48,000 with $750 in planned markdowns. Therefore, the retailer has $50,750 Open-To-Buy at retail.
Note: Multiply that number by the initial markup to reach the OTB at cost. If our markup is 40%, then our Open-To-Buy at cost is $20,300.
Before placing your Open-to-Buy plan into operation, ask yourself if each number is realistic. Does it make sense for the way you do business? Keep in mind that many of the figures on your inventory plan are only guidelines. A good rule of thumb is if your actual ending inventory is within five percent of your plan, you are doing very well.
    Sample 6 Month Plan
6-Month OTB Plan June July August September October November
    Beginning Of Month Inventory $ 155,000 150,000 152,000 157,000 157,000 165,000
    Sales 47,000 48,000 50,000 50,000 52,000 48,000
    Markdowns 1,000 750 750 1000 1500 1000
    Open-To-Buy 43,000 50,750 55,750 51,000 61,500 37,000
    End of Month Inventory $ 150,000 152,000 157,000 157,000 165,000 153,000

  • Beginning Inventory calc in ASO

I'm just trying to put a simple calculation to link the beginning inventory balance to the prior period ending inventory.
Here is what I put on the member formula:
For Apri (April as the first month of the fiscal year)
    Beg Balance =
    (PrevMember(Year.CurrentMember,Level),[Mar],[Ending Inventory])
    For May-March:
    Beg Balance =
    (PrevMember(Period.CurrentMember,Level),[Ending Inventory])
However, I keep getting the error below for retrieve (no problem for saving the outline)
Error executing formula for "Beginning Inventory": Recursion limit [31] reached.
I think it's because the formula confuses itself with the April and March balances kinda of referring to themselves....But it's for different years and it should just roll forward. I had no problem with BSO calc scrip or business rules.
Any trick I can learn to make it work in MDX ? Really appreciate your help! Thanks.

OK but you still will have to load every years begining inventory
Besides you did not use that very begining inventory number in any of the formulas I saw. Nevertheless if the only beginnning inventory amount is more than 31 months back from any month you are in trouble.
ANYTHING other than preloading BoY inventory will be slower -
The only possible alternate solution is to write a formula for BoY inventory that says it = sum of the previous years ending inventory WITHOUT including BoY
1 change your Ending Inventory formula to recurse ONLY to BoY - and not explicitly jump to prior years.
Add a BoY formula with a lower solve order that sums(Purchases - sales) for all prior years + the special beginning of cube inventory value
Assuming you built the following into your year dimension:
    YearsMultiple hierarchies enabled
    FYs label only
    fy12
    fy11
    fy10
    FY09
    Internal Calc Usage label only
    PreFY12
    FY11
    PreFY11
    FY10
    PreFY10
    FY09
    PreFY09
Then the formula for your BoY member could be just ( StrToMbr( Concat( "Pre", [Years].CurrentMember_Name ) , Purchases ) - ( StrToMbr( Concat( "Pre", [Years].CurrentMember_Name ) , Sales ) + ([Special BofCube Beg Inv Account], [First Year], [Whatever month you loaded it to] )

  • Calc Execution Order for Rolling Beginning Balances

I am trying to do a calculation where i need my current month's beginning inventory to be equal to prior month's ending inventory and then current month's ending inventory to be equal to current months beginning inventory. The calc is fixed on periods Feb to Dec and there is already a value for Jan's ending inventory. So I expect the calc to go in a loop and calculate in the following example:
    Jan endinv = 100
    Feb beginv = 100
    Feb endinv = 100
    mar beginv = 100
    mar endinv = 100
    dec endinv =100
what its actually doing is only calculating the value for Feb beginning and Ending inventory. I thought it would do it for each month at a time but it seems to be calculating beginning inventory for all months first and then calculation ending inventory for all months. Therefore I only get a value in the Feb month for Beginv and endinv and so i have to keep running the calc 10 more times for the rest of the months to calculate properly.
This is what my calc looks like:
    FIX("testscenario")
    FIX("FY11","FEB":"DEC")
    "BEGINV" = @PRIOR("ENDINV");
    "ENDINV" = "BEGINV";
    ENDFIX;
    ENDFIX;
Can someone tell me how i can fix my calc to calculate properly.
    Thanks,
    Jinal

In a regular business case, ending inventory is closed once the reporting month got closed and switch to a new month. Begining Inventory is carry forward from the Ending Inventory of the last month. Calculation of the begining inventory is differant.
Script in this case will be:
    FIX("testscenario")
    FIX("FY11", &CurrMth)
    "BEGINV" = @PRIOR("ENDINV");
    ENDFIX
    ENDFIX
    But you are expecting as:
I am trying to do a calculation where i need my current month's beginning inventory to be equal to prior month's ending inventory and then current month's ending inventory to be equal to >>current months beginning inventory. The calc is fixed on periods Feb to Dec and there is already a value for Jan's ending inventory. So I expect the calc to go in a loop ....In a multidimensional technology like Essbase, there is always a differance b/w expected behaviour (the calc to go in a loop) and the original behaviour (Calc all at once).
We should understand that and need to write the code to achieve the desired results.
Any how what you want is it should take all values from Jan Ending Inventory. That is what happen if it will calculate as you expected.
We will tell the Essbase to do so straight as below.
    FIX("testscenario")
    FIX("FY11","FEB":"DEC")
    "BEGINV" = "Jan"->"ENDINV";
    "ENDINV" = "BEGINV";
    ENDFIX
    ENDFIX
    Good Luck...

  • Ending Inventory Per Item

I am preparing the Inventory Turnover Report.  I need data on the beginning and ending inventory values per item per month.  I looked at the Inventory Audit Report and it does show the data I need which are cumulative Qty and cumulative Value columns.   These data however appears to be transient computed data and not table fields.
Does anyone know the table and fields(s) I should use to access the beginning and ending inventory values per item per month?  I already looked at these tables: OITM, INV1,OINV,OINM,MRV1,MRV2,OMRV.  I could find the what I am looking for.
The fields I am referring to is the same one being used by the system to calculate the COGS and/or Gross Profit per line item in the invoice.
Tips or suggestion is greatly appreciated
    Thanks.

  • Please help - Can I start my use of Adobe Muse when I choose? I have purchased a month by month

Hi, I have purchased a month by month subscription to creative cloud to use Adobe Muse.  I only want to use it for a month though.  I have not used it yet but I need to know when my 'month' actually starts - I assumed it would start when I initiated the program and was ready to use it!?
I have downloaded the program (Adobe Muse) and left it - assuming it would only begin my 'month use' when I started up the program (as in a 30day trial)
My account is due to automatically renew my subscription soon (which I didn't realise either - I figured I paid once for a month use!) and I will be charged for another months use now - however, as you can understand by now, I want it to start when I want to use it! - not as soon as I have purchased a month by month subscription (hope that makes sense)
What are peoples thoughts on this and is there anything I can do allowing me to activate 1 months use for one months paid for subscription?
My fear is that I will have paid for one month that is neraly over and I havn't even used the program yet!?
    Please advise!

    Hi munzafeedback,
I have checked your order registered under your email ID posted here, it has a muse single App CC purchased on September 23rd 2013,
You have not yet activated it, the billing date is 23rd of each month(you will be charged on this date irrespective of the fcat that you are using it or not).
Incase you do not want to use it now, please get it cancelled as it is within 30 days of purchase.
If you plan to cancel it after 3o days of purchase, the subscription will attract cancellation fee .
Please go through the cancelation detail at :

  • TS4069 all of a sudden i can't get incoming mail.  I can send just fine.  I deleted my account and then reintalled it; now it only shows emails going back one month and still not receiving new ones.

I cannot receive incoming mail all of a sudden on my I-Pone 4.  I deleted my comcast account and then set it up again as suggested.  Now it only loaded messages beginning one month ago; and still not receiving any new.  Any ideas?

There are only two things that I can suggest.
The first is to try the Mail Setup Assistant.
The other is giving Mozilla's Thunderbird a shot - setup the account and see if it will work with this free email app. I don't like Mail at all - and it gives some people fits around here (I don't know how many times people have posted about problems with outgoing servers using Mail).
Try both methods - I don't use Mail - I use MS's Outlook (and, before that, Entourage). If the Setup Assistant offers no relief, just try Thunderbird and see if it works with it.
    Good luck,
    Clinton
