Belle Software Upgrade wiped loads of my games!!

Belle upgrade on my Nokia N8 has just removed loads of my game sinlcuding Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons and Angry Birds Rio....Aaarrrgghh...how do i get these back?

Did you back up your phone before you did the update.
if you log in to the nokia store you should be able to down load the games from the store in your downloads section without having to pay again. Just make sure that the version you get is suitable for Belle

  • N73 Software Upgrade Erased Ring Tones And Game

Hi. I have updated my software a couple of times over the last 12 months with no problems. A couple of days ago I updated the software again and found that, not only could I not detect anything different or new but some of my existing data had disappeared. I did the do the back up to the memory card and I did restore it. However, despite this, my bog standard "ring ring" tone and Snakes 2, both of which came supplied with the phone, have disappeared.
How can I get them back?
    Thanks.

The newer firmwares for N73 indeed removes Snakes...I dont know why though.

  • Activated new phone. How long to load OTA software upgrade?

I activated a brand new phone this morning that I purchased on E-bay (Verizon, Boulder C-711, made by Casio).  I followed the steps on the Verizonwireless web site and dialed *228.  I was told that Phone was successfully activated.  However, I was advised that the phone was going to receive a OTA software update. The phone immediately went into some type of download mode and the screen on the phone shows the VerizonWireless logo.
I have been waiting over an hour for the phone to do something.  The screen still shows the VerizonWireless logo and all keys (including the "END") do not respond.  This is to say that I tried to depress the "END" key to shut the phone off and it would not shut off.  I did this thinking the phone may have locked-up and I was trying to turn it off in an attempt to re-boot it.
Question 1 -  How long shoud it take for the OTA software upgrade to load into my phone (1 hour, 2 hours, more, less)?
Question 2 - If phone is in fact locked up, where do I go from here?
Any help would be sincerely appreciated.
    Thanks,     Bill.

Please disregard my question.  My son, who is very impatient, came home and learned that I had been waiting over hour and a half for phone to do something.  He called VerizonWireless support and got a very helpful service Rep. on the line.  She told hime to remove the battery then re-install the battery and turn the phone back on.  The phone re-booted and the necessary software downloaded (it only took one minute for the software to download).  The phone then re-booted again and everything seems fine.  I have been able to make and receive calls now.
Hope this helps anyone else with similar problem.
    Thanks.  Bill.

  • Down-loading software upgrades is being limited by "server timed out"

My broadband connection is of modest speed as I live many miles from the Telephone Exchange. When I attempt to download Apple software upgrades, say of 50 mb, I get cut off after about 12 mb with a message" sever timed out code -1001". When I make a second attempt, I have to start again "at the beginning" rather than continue at the point where the last attempt failed.
Grateful for any advice (apart from being told to move house nearer the Telephone Exchange!) I am only just computer literate.
    regards

    Hi,
Make sure that the software while upgrading and downgrading was from your service providers official site. If not, go to the following link :
    http://in.blackberry.com/support/apps-and-software/desktop-and-device-download-sites.html
Now, if you have already upgraded and downgraded the software, and tried battery pulls. The only problem that i can think of for browser time out's could be with the service books.
Open the link and follow the instructions:

  • My aps won't open.  Installed software upgrade last night and now my apps (3G S) won't open

Last night I did a software upgrade and now when I try to open my aps they blink and do not open.  What's the fix?

I have a brand new 4G, just got a request to update to OS5.0. so I did that.  I can't download a single game, all of which are free.  After I get the ridiculous message about "Terms and Conditions" having changed, I accept it but it never does anything, just says "Loading" and never gets the app, it doesn't show up in my download history, and no icons on the screen.  Other apps just say "Waiting" and never do anything either.  I have an awesome connection and signal to my router, and all other features of the phone work.

  • Phone not working after the software upgrade

I performed the software upgrade as indicated by the phone in the notifications.
One the phone rebooted, I proceeded to enter my email accounts and it froze on a white screen with a spinning wheel.
I rebooted and it continued to freeze.
I took the battery out, rebooted, still can't add email accounts.  It freezes in the setting section.  I actually can't change any settings.
If I reply to a text, the screen freezes black.
If I try to reply to an email, the screen says, "Could not display this message"
I have wiped it three times, powered off a billion times and still keeps freezing.  The update has been nothing but grief.
    Any advice??

  • IPod Touch skips, stutters, glitches through songs since software upgrade!

    Hi everyone,
*Since I upgraded my iPod Touch* to the latest available software update +(for the 1st Gen is 3.1.3)+, it has become *unable to properly play any music encoded above 128kbps*. Before the upgrade, my iPod could play music encoded in any higher bitrates like a champ! All the way to 320kbps, variable, even Apple Lossless format used to play flawlessly.
Suddenly after the last *firmware update*, most of the songs in my iPod Touch would *skip, glitch and garble, making electronic glitches and annoying noises* for no apparent reason. On occasion, the iPod would even *add several second of silence in the middle of random songs*. It's bizarre!
It definitely took me a while to figure it out, and spent weeks testing and researching what could be the problem. It was truly driving me nuts! The result of all these tests was clear: the *iPod Touch now CHOKES on any music file encoded higher than 128 kbps ACC*. Truly pathetic for such an expensive little jukebox. Even the early MP3 players I owned 10 years ago were able to play variable rate MP3 files without a glitch. *_This is a major bug that needs to be solved_*.
For those interested, I did the following tests through my weeks of research to find out the culprit to this problem:
    - - - Reinstalled the device software
    - - - Reformatted the device, then updated the software
    - - - Uninstalled all apps, reinstalled and tested my music after reinstalling each app
    - - - Disabled Wi-Fi (no difference)
    - - - Copied over my music library from scratch, several times (it was painful)
    - - - Reformatted a few albums in different bitrates, from 96kbps, all the way to 320kbps, both in constant and variable rates, and tested them one by one. This took days.
In the end, there is one thing that was consistently clear: *any songs encoded over 128kbps would skip, glitch and sound corrupted. Time after time*. All those music files I had encoded at higher rates +(192 kbps, variable 240 kbps and beyond)+ would make the iPod choke.
There is one temporary solution to this mess, but it involves reducing the quality of your music files: The only way I can now play my music collection in my iPod Touch without skips and glitches is by downconverting my files to the now *obsolete 128kbps*. Only when I converted my music to 128kbps, the annoying skips and glitches stopped. For an audiophile like myself, this was an absolutely painful decision, as I can tell the *obvious loss in quality and nuance in my music files since i had to downconvert them*.
Funny: this skipping problem *also affects any files purchased from iTunes* +(encoded at 240 kbps variable rate)+. Should I ask for my money back, Apple?
I find this irritating and painful, since *the ONE THING the iPod is supposed to do well* (aside from apps, games, and web browsing) *is to PLAY AUDIO AND MUSIC FILES*.
I spent a lot of money on this machine, and until recently it worked like magic; I just wished it played music again like it's supposed to. It's what the iPod was built to do. *Apple: Please fix the software!*
I wonder if there's a forum where I could post my detailed findings, so Apple engineers can take note of this *MAJOR BUG*.
PS: I have recently learned this is a very common bug, and tons of people are reaching out telling me they are experiencing the same annoying problems. Furthermore, *this seems to affect not just the 1st Gen, but ALL generations of the iPod Touch*. It's a *widespread software issue* that was not properly addressed in the latest software upgrade. I'm starting to worry about Apple's quality assurance process.

Hi everyone. Thanks to a tip in another forum, I think I had a breakthrough regarding this problem. I have the strong suspicion it's not the software for the iPod Touch, but instead, the problem comes from *iTunes and how it handles USB 2.0 transfers*.
To make a long story short, all your *music that's encoded above 128 kbps gets corrupted when you transfer it to your Touch from iTunes through your USB 2.0 connection*. That's where the problem is!
    I performed this simple test:
    *PART 1 - WIFI*
    - I connected my iPod Touch via Wi-Fi to the iTunes Store. Bought an album encoded at a very high bitrate (Coldplay's "Viva la Vida", encoded at 256KBPS).
    - Downloaded the Coldplay album directly to my iPod Touch via Wi-Fi.
    - Tested every song in the album, and they all played flawlessly.
    *PART 2 - USB 2.0*
    - Now, I erased the Coldplay album from my iPod Touch.
    - Connected my iPod Touch to my computer, and downloaded the album again via iTunes. I copied the very same album to my iPod Touch, this time using the USB 2.0 connection.
    - I tested every song in the album. Guess what: most of them are corrupted, skipping, glitching, making garbled noises.
I think a reached a minor "eureka" moment. *It's not the iPod Touch software: It's iTunes, and how iTunes deals with your USB 2.0 connection*.
Now, I'm not an engineer, and I don't know how to fix this problem. I wonder if there's anyone out there there that knows why high bitrate files get corrupted during the file transfer. Hope anyone can shed some additional light on this issue, so we can find a solution.

  • IPad software upgrade too big to download

I hooked my iPad up to my PC to synch with iTunes. iTunes said the iPad needed a software upgrade. It was 565 MGs. After 2 hours, I had 200 Mgs loaded, and 5 hours to go. My satellite server let me run for another hour and then cut me off as I had exceeded fair use bandwidth. Where can I get this large file downloaded? Can I go to the local computer store and use their DSL, without taking my own PC with me?

We took the iPad to the library with my husband's laptop, since we knew it had iTunes. the iPad would not speak to his iTunes. I guess it rather fancies its home base iTunes on my desktop PC. So end of the line for getting this update, unless I can go to the physical Apple store and get them to upload for me.

  • Has anyone actually gotten the 2.2 Software Upgrade to work?

I know there are numerous threads about the 2.2 Software Upgrade and how it's not working.
Has anyone actually gotten it to work??
If you have, please reply with what you did to make it work, how long it took you, etc..
    Thanks in advance!

Thank you, Thank you Henry1---I hit update, unplugged my iPod-touch,and whala!! the update downloaded to my itunes account. I did have to pay when I had first bought it thru itunes- I tried updating, and syncing several times in the past week or two without success. While my ipod was unplugged I also reset my network settings on the ipod under the settings, general, reset menus before I plugged it back in. When I plugged it back in I had to hit update again to download it to the ipod and then sync to get any applications/games to go on to the ipod. Thanks again Henry1--we were racking our brains trying to figure out if we had the "right network settings" on the computer and/or the computer.

Hi all. I have a trouble with AIR-CAP3502I-R-K9 AP and I want to ask help.
I tried to upgrade IOS software in ap because it was connecting  and disconnecting to controller too often. I already upgraded one of two  access point and it working stable at this time, but the second one  not.
I tried to make software upgrade:
    ap: set IP_ADDR 192.168.100.100

    ap: flash_init
    ap: tar -xtract tftp://192.168.100.101/ap3g1-k9w8-xx.152-2.JB.tar flash:
After that software was donwloaded to ap and self-extracted.
And when I'm trying to boot ap after upgrade I see such messages:

  • Failed Software Upgrade

Have a customer that reports a 4402 controller that has no console access after a software upgrade from 4.2.99 to 4.2.176.
They report they thought 4.2.176 went in ok but failed to read the configuration.
    So they loaded 4.2.112.0 ER.aes.
The controller powers up but no console access. Service port interface lights up but does not lease an address in DHCP.
From the look of the hyperterm log (before console was lost) both the primary and secondary were loaded with the same image version. But this failed it also appears the tftp load failed.
Is the controller bricked at this point?

are you using tftpd32 or similar as your tftp server - the newer wlc software revs are greater than 32MB. had a similar problem to you until i started using tftpd32 as my tftp server - see url:

  • Apps worked fine before software upgrade to 4.2.3, now my apps won't launch.

I made a few apps/games prior to the software upgrade, using Corona SDK and they worked fine, When I do a build now for any of them, they quit back to the iconscreen after 2 seconds.
They install nicely via iTunes and the icon appears as normal on the iphone, but upon launching, I see my logo, the orientation of the screen changes to landscape as it should and the status bar also shows as it should. Then after 1-2 seconds it just quits back to the iphone iconscreen.
I am not using the beta of Xcode and the Corona SDK version should be 100% compatible with the current Xcode version, all I can think of is the new software upgrade for my iphone.
I've also tried resetting it to factory settings, no use. What do I do to fix this?

I could not find an appropriate category to post it in there.

  • Decrease battery life since Maxx software upgrade

My Droid Maxx HD had excellent battery life prior to my recent software upgrade that occurred earlier this week. Now come 5pm my battery that use to last till 9pm is dead! What can I do to extend the life of the battery so it does what I bought it for?

Sorry for the battery issues, but let's narrow down what could be doing it.  I'm gonna provide some information that will help you this.  Some of the information will have a question before it, and the information will clarify why the question is important.
How are your charging your device on a normal basis?  If you are charging it in the car more often than the wall, that will not give you a quality charge and you will see the charge drain faster than charging it from an outlet.
How do you close your apps?  Most game apps are intensive on your battery if they remain open, even if you are not actively using the app.  Simply pressing the home button doesn't allow your device to "sleep" so you're going to have a degredation in battery life.
Have you updated the apps since your device software updated?  If the app version you currently have isn't what is most current, it would cause issues  with overall performance.
What charger are you using?  If it's not the charger that came with the device, or an approved charger you would have issues getting a quality charge.
Do you recall any app you downloaded right before you began having issues?  Some apps are "high risk" and interfere with your device and it's functioning.  If you have installed an app right before this started you can try uninstalling them in reverse order from their installation.
Well, I'm done taking up your time and I hope this information helps.  If you find out it is an app you recently downloaded, but you want the app I would suggest either posting some feedback to the app developers.  An alternative solution would be to purchase a charging case/portable charger.  Good luck with your battery issues.

  • Device Software Upgrade

I upgraded the device software over the weekend, and can't see any difference. None of the apps I was expecting are there. Tried re-downloading, but get a message that latest software is already loaded. New version no. does NOT show up in About. Just tried synching for the first time since the "upgrade" and I get a "sync failed" error. How can I uninstall and go back to the original? Or fix the new version? I tried rebooting and that did nothing. Help!

what apps were you expecting to see that didn't show up?
