Best iCloud setup when I have two apple ID's

Ok so I have two apple ID's---One is a yahoo email address, and that is what I began using forever ago with iTunes, so I have a bunch of purchased music and apps with that username. Since that is my ITUNES username, that is what my iphone has been setup with.
The OTHER apple ID is my original .mac ID, which is now my mobileme ID, which was syncing my calendars, notes, yada yada yada
Does anyone out there have suggestions on how I should go about setting up this iCloud. Can you give reasons why one ID would be more beneficial over the other. I am trying to simplify my life and workflow, but it seems Apple keeps effing things up with their new fangled technologies!!! ;o)
Emails and Calendars are using my .mac name while music is using my yahoo name, how can I simplify all this?!?!?!
Cheers

You will need to continue to use the Apple ID you are using for iTunes for iTunes, whether or not you use it for iCloud sync services or not is up to you, you can move your contacts etc to iCloud once you log in. On the other hand you could upgrade your MM account to iCloud and use that ID just for sync services.
Personally, I chose to use use my Apple ID for iTunes as my iCloud Apple ID, but I never really used my MM email address all that much.

  • How to Set up Family Plan when you have two Apple IDs?

I stopped short of setting up Family plan because my wife and I have two Apple IDs each: One for iTunes ad one for iCloud.  This was caused by migrating from long ago Apple "cloud" services.
The set up seems to assume you have a single ID for each person and there are no instructions to set it up using hyour current iTunesa and iCloud IDs.
Has anyone successfully set up Family Plan while they have two sets of Apple IDs?

finally I found someone else with my dilemma.
I have my iTunes/AppStore ID with all my purchases and my iCloud ID with everything else.
this is a major issue that needs to be addressed.
    thank you.

  • How do I sync Apps to the iPhone 5 when I have two Apple IDs

I received my iPhone 5 last night and followed Apple's instruction on backing up my iPhone 4 to the cloud and restoring it to the new iPhone. Here's the problem: some of my older apps (those purchased with a different Apple ID) didn't make it to the new phone. Is there a way to move those to the cloud and restore those to the new phone too?
    Thanks,
    Chris

How have you managed to get apps on your phone that are tied to a different and unknown AppleID?
If these apps were not purchased by you, having them is effectively software piracy and you should purchase them using your own AppleID if you want to keep hem.

  • PC, iPad, iPods - can iCloud help when we have two different itunes accounts?

We have one account associated with a PC/laptop and a few ipods then we have a iPad which has another iTunes account associted with it and a mpb that has no account association.  Can we integrate/merge our itunes accounts into one icloud account and share all the songs across all devices?

No, but you can authorize each device to play music from the other account.

You can't merge Apple IDs.  What you could do is set up your phone to use the same iCloud accout you are using on your Mac.  To do this, go to Settings>iCloud and turn all synced data (Contacts, Calendars, etc.) to Off.  When prompted, choose to keep the data on the phone.  When everything is off, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.  Now add the iCloud account you set up on your Mac (with the same Apple ID) and turn syncing back on for Calendars, Contacts, etc.  When prompted, you will probably want to choose merge, to merge the data on your phone with the existing data on this iCloud account.

These are user-to-user forums, you are not talking to Apple here and they don't monitor these forums - I've asked the hosts to remove yout account ids from your post.
In terms of combining accounts it's not currently possible to do so, nor to copy/transfer content from account to another.

I have two Apple accounts the one on my I phone and computer are the same the one on my mini i pad is different I have credit on my mini i pad however, when I purchase an App or movie I am charged on my credit card and the $40:00 worth of I Tune cards is by passed I have tried to change the mini i pad account details to be the same as my computer and original apple i.d.account however, it will not allow me to do I have tried to reset the mini  i pad but not all the way to factory otherwise I would loose all my data. I have visited a genuis bench at Fountain gate however, they tell me I need to ring apple support which I will do on the next working day.

You are going to need to change the email address you use with your old ID. Once you have got access to your old account you will then log into both accounts at the same time on your Mac and transfer your data to a single account. We can do this later, but need you to get access to your old account first.
    My Apple ID

  • Does anyone else have two Apple IDs? I can't get rid of one of them. It's associated with my iCloud account and I can't fix it. The password doesn't work.

So, apparently I have two Apple IDs associated with my iPhone. One is an old aol address that got hacked and was shut down. Even aol doesn't recognize the email address anymore, and the password doesn't work. It's associated with my iCloud account, so now I can't access that account. My other Apple ID is with everything associated with my iPhone and everything works just fine. But now I can't get to my iCloud stuff. Has this ever happened to anyone else. The guy at the Apple store says he's never heard of it.

Does the alert refer to "Local Items?"

Neither of those Apps allow you to (easily) add iWork documents created or edited on the device to your online storage, you need to be using a webDAV server to be able to do that. In fact pretty much all you can add from the iOS device is photos and video without resorting to convoluted workarounds, intermediate apps or emailing finished documents to yourself. You can on the other hand view most of the content of dropbox/sugarsync through those apps, which in a lot of circumstances is useful, but without it working in both directions these apps are far from an ideal solution.
    E.g from the sugarsync website
Yes, this may not be of too much interest to the OP, I was only trying to clarify the situation with iCloud.com/iWork for you.
However that being said, there may be areas of interest for Computer to Computer syncing, given the recent changes made to iCloud.com/iWork. I wouldn't suggest iCloud sharing for archived documents, but for perhaps up to a couple of dozen documents in progress, iCloud sharing is now quite viable. If there is any chance at all of these documents being accessed on an iOS device then iCloud would become a preferred option to dropbox or sugarsync.

  • How to delete one apple id account when you have two

How do I delete the apple id and password I use on my iPhone
and just use the one on my MacBook for both devices.
When I bought my iPhone I tried to set up my apple id on the phone using the same username and password as on my MacBook
but it didn't like my password on the iPhone.
The password was acceptable on the MacBook but the iPone required a more complicated password.
So, I set up a separate Apple id on my iPhone
and now I have two apple ids and I'd like to delete one and just use one for both devices.

There's no way to delete an Apple ID. Just don't use it.

  • I seem have two apple IDs - on for an icloud address and one for everything prior.

I seem have two apple IDs - one for my new icloud email address and one for ipad/purchases which has been active for 6 months.
Can I change this to simplify it, or should I follow instructions to ensure everything is matched?

I am logged into the same things on both my iPhone and my MacBook Pro, except for mail. I use a gmail IMAP account and everything there already works on both machines. The iCloud account on my iPhone uses one Apple ID and the one on the Mac uses the second Apple ID.

Do the songs play in iTunes on the computer?

  • I have two Apple IDs and when I got an Iphone 6, only the apps from one Apple ID are on the phone. How do I get my other apps on there?

I (stupidly) have two Apple IDs and when I got an Iphone 6, only the apps from one Apple ID are on the phone. How do I get my other apps (from my old Iphone 4) on my new Iphone? Thanks

You can use the same appleid that you purchased the apps with on the phone for the App store. Settings> iTunes & App Store and continue to use the other id for everything else allowing you to have access to your previously purchased apps. You can then either sync or download the apps without paying for them again.
It can be quite handy having two appleids - it can be quite useful if you can manage them correctly. One id for the store and one for imessage is good for privacy if you have the same id in use on another device.
