    Hi
You can check SAP Marketplace and there follow the download link. You will require a SAP Marketplace login to download the Best Practices. Fortunately Best practices for ECC 5.00 and 6.00 are available there but they are country specific versions. I know HCM for US is available there.
    Reward points, if helpful.

-> Storage of Credit Card data (whether in ECC or CRM or none).
-> Authentication process (whether needed in both ECC as well as CRM).
    -> Payment process.

  • SAP RAR - Best Practice ECC,CRM and BW systems

    Hi All
i have the requirement to configure RAR for the systems ECC,CRM and BW systems . Each system has only one client . whats the best practice regarding using the rules against each system . i am assuming the rules will be the same irrespective of the system but when i see the names of the initial files , they are system specific . can anybody elloborate around this . thanks
    Regards
    Prasad

    Prasad,
To build on Chinmaya's explanation, make sure you use a logical system for CRM, BI, and ECC for the basis portion of the rule set (and only the basis portion).  This will keep you from duplicating your rules to meet your basis requirements.  The other rules should be attributed to the individual systems (or additional logical systems if including mult landscapes, ex. Dev, QA, and Prod ECC merged into one ECC logical system).

  • Best Practices v3.31 - SAP InfoSet Query connection

    Hi,
I have a problem with adapting a Crystal Report from Best Practices for Business Intelligence v3.31 to SAP system. The report "Cost Analysis Planned vs. Actual Order Costs.rpt" is using SAP InfoSet Query "CO_OM_OP_20_Q1". This InfoSet Query is working fine in SAP. My SAP-User has access to the following user groups:
    - /SREP/IS_UG
    - /KYK/IS_UG
    - ZBPBI131_USR
The Controlling Area in SAP is '1000'. Crystal Reports generates this error message:
    - Failed to retrieve data from the database.
    - Database Connector Error: "Controlling area does not exist"
    - Database Connector Error: 'RFC_CLOSED'
But InfoSet Query "CO_OM_CA_20_Q1" has no problem with Controlling Area '1000' in Crystal Reports and is working fine in SAP!
    Can somebody help?
    Thanks in advance.
    Peter

    Hello Peter,
I'm using Best Practices for BI v1.31 and this one also has this report you are talking about.
I face the same issue when trying to adapt it to my ERP, but if I run it in SAP GUI, it goes smoothly without any issue.
    Please advise,
    Thanks in advance,

  • Practical concept for  best practice documentation / overview SAP BW

    Hello everybody,
here our current situation. Our Business Warehouse (Version 3.5) is growing and growing. Month by month more and more requirements of subsidiaries and departments should be integrated to the data warehouse.
Our internal BW-Team and IT-Management want to get more <b>transparency</b> in the daily work:
Here some questions we are facing in our daily work:
    - How is the <b>typical data flow in a certain case</b>?:
For example source system then ODS (technical name) then for example data goes to 4 InfoCubes. Some InfoCubes are grouped to a multiprovider. We do queries only on MultiProviders.
Even the employees who work permanently wit BW have problems to get a good overview.
    - A lot of InfoAreas, InfoObjects, Interfaces and so on.
    - Structure of the whole Data Warehouse
    - <b>Process Chain</b> Mangement overview...
We don't like the standard tool integrated in BW. What we are thinking is that we need is to create a <b>matrix</b> (Microsoft Excel) and <b>Visualization</b> (Microsoft Powerpoint).
The Problem is to keep it actual in daily working. That is not confortable and a strict dicpline is needed.
Something for us (BW-Team) and our IT-Management to understand easily is the main goal. The transparency should increase and the administrative work to achieve that should be faisable. <b>Keep it small and simple.</b>
I think a discussion should start. What are best practices to handle this situtation?
Everybody faces the same situation I think. We can profit from each other...
Any good tools from third parties known and available?
Some good templates and so on...<b></b>
I hope to hear from you....
    Harry

    Hi Dag,
If you have access to the Service Marketplace (http://service.sap.com), select "Release & Upgrade Info" tab, click "Installation & Upgrades Guides" and then open "mySAP Business Suite Applications -> mySAP CRM -> SAP CRM 4.0 -> Mobile Client Installation Guides" section on the left navigator bar.

  • Procedure/Best Practices - For providing SAP BASIS SUPPORT

    Hi All,
I need information on SAP BEST PRACTICES on providing BASIS SUPPORT for SAP4.7.
If you can give me any link or document regarding this that would be of great help to me.
    Expecting the replies...
    Thanks
    Cheenu

    Hi Cheenu,
I'm not quite sure what do you mean by "providing SAP BASIS SUPPORT".
Run SAP roadmaps describe the recommended methodology for End-to-end operations of SAP solution, including technical operations (basis). You can check them at service.sap.com/roadmaps (go to "Run SAP Roadmap"). If you need a list of tasks you should perform in a scope of solution operations you'll find it there as well.
SAP solution management is based on ITIL methodology. You can find more about ITIL at www.best-management-practice.com/IT-Service-Management-ITIL/.
    Hope this helps.

  • Best practice to change SAP BW login parameters after Universe migration

    Hello All,
I am working with SAP BW and BOBJ XI 3.1.
And we are using "Use specified username and password" Authentication mode when we are establishing the connection to SAP BW. At present after migrating the Universe let's say from Dev to Test, We are logging in to the Universe in the Test environment and modifying the connection parameters to point the Universe to Test BW system.
By default when we migrate the Universe it's still pointingg to BW Dev system.
My question is when we use "Use specified username and password" Authentication mode, what's the best way to change the connection parameters.
I would greatly appreciate your input.
    Thanks
    Padma

    Ingo,
Thanks a lot for your response.
At present we are using the standard import wizard.
You think the LifeCycle Management has the option to change the login information during the migration??
Very soon we will be evaluating the tool.
    Thanks
    Padma

  • Abap ECC SAP Console guide

    Hi,
I am looking for an abap best practice guide for SAP Console on ECC6.
    Anyone know a link?
Is there a big difference from developing RF screens in 4.6?
    Thanks,
    Kroc.

    Hi,
thanks for that. Maybe 'Best Practice' is the wrong term to use, seeing as SAP use it for their own purposes.
I am looking for a developers guide for creating SAP Console Screen's in ECC 6.0.
    And RF = Radio Frequncy.
Previously SAP suggested copying SAPLLMOB and modify your screens from there. Just wondering if that i still the same.
    Thanks.

  • ECATT: SAP's Best Practice For eCATT

    Hello All,
If multiple projects are handled on same server, then the master data keep on changing due to which the screen sequences of transactions may change and hence causing the failure of earlier automated eCATT scripts.
What is the best practice recommended by SAP for such situation both in long term as well as short term considering project deadlines?
    Thanks & Regards.

    Hi SAP Developer,
as far as I know there are no best practice guides for that from SAP.
But from common experience in automating testing one can propose:
    For long term:
    - organize your processes to be tested aligned as a number of szenarios; do a test case design also incorporating test data to be used; on that base derive (master) data that can be used in common by all szenarios; all other data should be used from single szenarios exclusively;
    - use scripts also for creation of (master) data;
    - try to use internal number assignment or create numbers in your eCATT script, so that every process run uses new new data accroding it's needs
    - try to check customizing using CHETAB or BC Sets, stop the process if important settings are not there
The target of all this is to ensure, that neither customizing nor master data properties can raise different screen sequences.
Another option is to make your scripts more flexible regarding 'small' sequence changes like upcomming popups etc. when using SAPGUI command. This can be achieved by setting the 'Active' option of 'ProcessedScreen' elements.
If you use 'O' like optional, eCATT will only process the ProcessedScreen branch if the programm and dynpro number are matching the screen currently shown by SAP Gui.
Hope I could help a bit.
    Best regards
    Jens

    [ASAP methodology|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/home/asap%2bfocus%]
ASAP methodology is one methodlogy used in implementing SAP .
The ASAP methodology adheres to a specific road map that addresses the following five general Phases:
    Project Preparation, in which the project team is identified and mobilized, the project Standards are defined, and the project work environment is set up;
    Blueprint, in which the business processes are defined and the business blueprint document is designed;
    Realization, in which the system is configured, knowledge transfer occurs, extensive unit testing is completed, and data mappings and data requirements for migration are defined;
Final Preparation, in which final integration testing, stress testing, and conversion testing are conducted, and all end users are trained; and
Go-Live and Support, in which the data is migrated from the legacy systems, the new system are activated, and post-implementation support is provided.
ASAP incorporates standard design templates and accelerators covering every functional area within the system, as well as supporting all implementation processes. Complementing the ASAP accelerators, the project manager can create a comprehensive project plan, covering the overall project, project staffing plan, and each sub-process such as system testing, communication and data migration. Milestones are set for every work path, and progress is carefully tracked by the project management team.
    Hope it will help you.
