Best practise, do you store your files in the Filesystem, too?

I hope you can answer my question? For three weeks we have all the objects in the Repository | | and on the filesystem. We have mapped the repository to the filesystem.
Does that makes sense? Or should we delete all the data from the filesystem so that we haven't stored it redundant?
What would you prefer?
AND: Is it possible to start a script e.g. for creating a table out of the script which lies in the repository?
Or for DBA things would it be better to store the scripts outside again?
Thank you very much
Henrik

You should use the local file system only when you need to edit the files. However, the Repository will warn you if the file system and the repository stored files become out of synch.
Store all the scripts in the Repository.
You could associate a .sql file with sqlplus. Thus on opening the file from the Repository sqlplus would be started and ask for a username/password.

If you enter your password on the ipad too many times and your sim card locks, is there a way of recovery without replacing the sim card?

That doesn't lock the SIM card, it just locks you out of the device.
If you forgot (or don't know) your passcode, restore the device from backup on the last computer it was synced with when the passcode was turned on... this will remove the passcode. If you do not have access to the last computer it was synced with, you will have to force it into recovery mode & restore as a new device.

  • Does Photoshop CC store your files in the cloud?

Hi, I want to buy Photoshop CS6 (but not all other creative apps).  Whilst there are some versions of Photoshop CS6 available from some web suppliers such as Amazon and Apple Store, it seems that the only way to keep the software up to date is to get Photoshop CC.  Is that right?
If so, does Photoshop CC mean that you have to store all your files on the Cloud, or can I keep all my files on my desk top?  My preference is to not have anything stored on the cloud as I'm not sure who else can access it.
Sorry if these are basic / silly questions but from reading all information so far, I'm pretty confused.  Thanks in advance!
    Matt

Support for CS6 will eventually be dropped, yes... and you won't be seeing any snazzy new features in CS6 either.
You don't need to store any files in the Cloud if you don't want to. It works a bit like Dropbox, if you know how that works. So you can keep all your files locally!

  • Can you export your files with the Trial Version??

I've been into the help section, and it says to go to Share and then export ect ect, but when I clicked share, I can't click any of the options (theyre that light grey). I REALLY need to be able to export with this trial version I have, and soon. Please help!!

Click in the timeline window to make sure it is the active windqw. The most common cause for grayed out share menu options is if you have the browser as the active window.

  • How Do You Store Your Movie Masters?

    Hi all,
I'm curious, how do you store your Movie Masters? Let's say you filmed an important Family event from a camcorder with a hard drive. You imported the footage into you mac and edited it in iMovie or Final Cut Pro or other app.
    Then what?
    Do you make a DVD?
Do you save a DVD image file on the computer?
Do you export a .mov or other format file?
Do you delete the DV original files because they are so massive?
Do you save/delete the iMovie or FCP master original footage?
When do you delete the camcorder hard drive original (when you need the space)?
What other approaches do you do?
    Which is the Master?
How do you back up your movie?
Thanks in advance for your opinions.

Great question. I think the issue of backup is a important one, and one I always worry about since I have a lot of video footage that is irreplaceable.
For back-up, it is helpful to define the risk you are trying to protect from.
    For example,
    1) risk of corruption in iMovie --> I might use Time Machine (but I do not because I have not had the issue)
    2) risk of hard drive failure --> I use SuperDuper! nightly
    3) Risk of theft or fire --> offsite backup
    Here is what I do...
    1) I back up my boot disk with SuperDuper automatically to alternate external partitions every other night so I always have two bootable systems. One is less than one day old, and one is less than two days old.
    2) I back up my original video files. For my Motion JPEG, VHS-->AIC, DV, and 8MM to DV, the EVENT is the copy I back up. For my AVCHD high def video, I back up the archive of the AVCHD, but I am not currently backing up the Event files, because I would need from 4 to 8 TB to back up these events depending on whether I made one copy or two.
    3) I use CrashPlan for my offsite backup. It costs less than $4 per month, and I seeded the initial backup to an external drive to minimize having to transfer video files over the Internet. I currently have 1.2TB of data backed up to CrashPlan, which includes my entire boot drive, and the files described in #2.
    4) All of the above is automated, so I don't have to think about it too much. If I have to manually do stuff, I tend to get behind.
You have to consider the value of total multiple redundancy vs. the likelihood that 2 or three unlikely events would all happen at once. For example, CrashPlan could lose my data. My hard disk could fail. I could lose everything in a fire. But it is unlikely that they would all happen at once, except in nuclear war, in which case, who cares?
I am considering adding Time Machine backup and some off-site backup of the Event files into the mix, but for now I am satisfied.

  • HT4014 when you update to 10.6.3 will you loose your files and pictures?

when you update to 10.6.3 will you loose your files and pictures?

No.   But you probably need to go further than 10.6.3.   If you have already bought the retail disc you should read the link below (just to double check).
Minimum specs for Snow Leopard.        Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard -Read the Technical Specifications
Once you have bought and upgraded you will need to apply the Combo updater for Snow Leopard.          Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1
And follow that by software update to pick up any iTunes or security updates that have since become available.

There are two ways to upload your files.
To use the file syncing part of the Creative Cloud app sign up at the Early Access page here https://creative.adobe.com/earlyaccess.
You can also upload files using a browser from the Files page at https://creative.adobe.com/files.

  • HT1386 How do you sync your itunes from the Iphone to the macbook pro?

How do you sync your itunes from the iphone to the macbook pro?
Let's say, I have an Iphone 3GS and it was synced to my older pc (I know...) and it crashed and I can't retrieve my files on there.  I want everything that I have on my 3Gs: photos, videos, music, notes, voice recordings, etc...  Now, I recently upgraded to 4Gs.  I can sync almost everything via icloud but there are files like photos, videos, other music that I cannot sync or for some weird reason it won't work over the cloud.  So I want to move all of those information to my macbook pro (upgraded from pc... yes!).  How do I move everything in my iphone backed up to my itunes in my mac book so that I can sync it to my new 4Gs?

I have a 3GS IPhone and have not been able to find Cloud on it anywhere (I was instructed to go to Settings, General, etc). I have also been told I should download update from I Tunes and have not been successful doing that either. I know my I Pad has the Cloud and I am wanting to sync the calendar from the phone to the pad. Any suggestions?

  • Can you copy/paste files from the Finder to Mail in Lion, or drag them onto the Mail icon in the Dock to create a new message and attach the files to it?

Message title says it: Can you copy/paste files from the Finder to Mail in Lion, or drag them onto the Mail icon in the Dock to create a new message and attach the files to it?
I can't find anything in the Knowledge Base that says these two options no longer work or still do.
I do not have a system capable of running Lion, but I need to know the answer nonetheless.

Gee, I don't know: "paste attachments mail Lion"? ;-)
One further question, if I may: in Panther (which is where I've aggregated nearly 7 years of mail), if you copy more than one file in the Finder, switch to Mail, and paste the files into a new message, only the file names paste in. If you copy one file and paste it into a Mail message, you get the file, not just the name. Is that still true, or has that (IMHO) bug been fixed since 10.3.9?

Where can you check your location on the iPad?

I'm not sure what your asking but, I use a app called magic piano and when it shares my performance it states that my location is in Australia instead of United States ..
When I updated my iPad my profile pic and location no longer is correct.
So I'm trying to fix that and unsure how or why but would like to correct it..
    Thnx. ;)
