Compare the roaming charges from the German carrier with services like those:

  • Q:Micro SD card for FRDM-K64

    Hello,
I am installing Java ME 8.1 on my FRDM-K64 board and according to the installation guide I need a Micro SD card of 4GB (using a SDHC card is not recommended). I am really struggling finding such a card, maybe someone knows where to buy one. I have searched RadioShack, BestBuy and Frys with no luck. Will it work with a bigger card?
    Thanks
    Andy

Yes, Andy, they're virtually impossible to find.
The non-HC design is an older technology.
Vague memory (and I'm not going to look it up beyond a generic Google search) is that the two cards have a different density structure.
I came across this same sort of issue a couple of years ago with a no-name MP3 player  --> SD worked while SDHC failed.
As I type this, Newegg's web site has three and only three available for sale.
Microcenter's web site and TigerDirect's web site each have a few available in the USA (your reference to Radio Shack suggests you are there).
Other people will need to respond to let you knoe whether a HC card will function.   I have no knowledge on that.

  • Activate micro simm card for Ipad in advance

    Greetings,
Does anyone know if you can activate an AT&T Micro sim card in one IPad and using it in a different one?  I have an executive traveling from India to visit our Houston, TX in August.  My boss wants me to activate a new micro simm card in one of our Ipad's, then take it and give it to our visitor from India to use in his Ipad while he is in the states.  Will this work or will I have to reactivate it in his Ipad?  I know that you can move your microsimm card from your old Ipad to your new Ipad but somehow I'm thinking this is a bit different.  Any advice or assistance would be most appreciated.  Thanks!

Not sure but I took the micro sim from my phone and put it in the ipad and got a message from the provider saying I would need to change my plan for things to work.  Why dont you try it and see if it works?

  • Recommend a (USA) micro SIM card for a factory-unlocked iPhone 4s?

Could be a simple question but I can't find the answer: I bought a factory-unlocked iPhone 4s (from Apple)  for use while traveling abroad (mainly China). I already have a Chinese SIM card to use while I'm China.  I just got the iPhone delivered to me in the US and I want to get it set up and tested before I travel back to China.
But I'm a little confused about where I can get a micro SIM card in the US  to pop into the phone for a couple of days just to get it set up and running (I don't need a lot of time on the card).
Can I just pop into any AT&T or T-mobile store and pick up a micro-SIM card that will work?

Hi, thanks for your answer. I just got off the phone trying to clarify this with AT&T. They tell me that they also have something called a "Go" card that I can get for my (factory-unlocked) iPhone that works without a plan. But, as you pointed out regarding the T-mobile card, it sounds as if I don't get full service on the iPhone. They told me that I won't be ablet to browse the web via the card, only when I'm connected via Wi Fi.
I am headed out to try to find a card today and will update this thread with any further discoveries.

  • 8GB memory cards for N95 - Nokia says 4GB max

OK... I have a N95 (bought late Nov 07). Bought an 8GB memory card... all seems to work great.
Thing is Nokia list 4GB as the max memory card on their web site here - http://www.forum.nokia.com/devices/N95
I assume 8GB is OK and reliable to use ??
Just checking - as I said, not seen any problems at all just curious as to the mismatch.
    cheers

I haven't seen a slowdown with lots of videos and music on a 2GB card in my N73, but I have seen a huge slowdown with a lot of MobiReader eBooks installed (around 100)- it takes four or five minutes sometimes to go from a book back to the library. It doesn't happen with only a few books installed (10 or so).
I haven't had much chance to check with my N95 that I was given for Xmas - it only came with a 1GB card and I only have a few songs plus DivX music videos and movies plus 20 books aboard so far, but so far I haven't seen any slowdown even with MobiReader.
I'm looking for an 8GB card for my N95 once one becomes available here and I can confirm it works reliably in my N95. Then the wife gets the N73 with the 2GB and my laptop gets the 1GB card. Guess I throw away the 256MB card currently in the laptop!

  • Micro SD Card for Nokia Lumia 1020

I work in a photo printing lab and over the years technology has changed in many different ways. Customers have moved from the old film cameras to digital cameras. But now they are moving from digital cameras to phone cameras. This move is because of the improved image quality.
I was very excited to hear of Nokias new release the Lumia1020. The image quality of the 1020 has far surpassed anything else on the market. This was the phone that I've been waiting for.
But as I work in a photo lab and deal with many customers with many different types of camera phones. I see the difficulties most of them have with printing a few pictures. Bluetooth is very slow. Using a cable works only 5% of the time. infrared doesn't work anymore on most of the new machines.
But 50% of the phones use SD CARDS. Its simple, fast and the most efficient way of printing your images.
The phone that I've been waiting for, the Nokia Lumia1020, does Not use SD CARD. I hope I've received the wrong information about this phone. For me it is essential to actually print the photographs that i take. And without the use of an SD CARD i would find it difficult to do this.
If the Nokia lumia 1020 specifications are correct. Then I'll have to wait a little bit longer to upgrade my phone. If anything happens to my Nokia N8. I'll have some serious decisions to make.
Can anyone prove me wrong on the Nokia lumia 1020 specifications?

"Not strange at all that lower end support sd .Built in memory vs sd card is all cost."
I still would say that a more expensive line should be worth the cost since as customers we are paying a premium for it. So although it is "all cost" customers deserve more since we are paying more.

"Most memory cards are mounted internally which requires removing the back cover and in most instances the battery."
If Nokia would put their minds to it Im confident that their clever engineers would be able to provide a hot swapable solution somewhere externally at the same time make it look good and not interfere with usage ie needing to take battery out. Woulnt this just showcase another of Nokia's engineering prowess?
"I can upload my pictures to skydrive..."
If you were to take many hidef pix, movies etc, how long would it take to upload to skydrive as compared to transfering an sd card onto your pc? Or even putting in a blank memory card a making immediately available huge numbers of GB?
"Removing a memory card to transger data is old school"
I have to go the other direction. Adding memory card support only adds more fuctionality to the phone. Adds more room to install apps, add more room to store music, vids that you can keep with you. Adds the ability to add virtually unlimited storage to your phone. And dont forget the cost of data from your network provider when your away from your wifi.
Scenario I like to have my phone stocked with the apps I like. Now this uses some space. I have pics and vids of nice memeories I like to keep with me on the phone and I like to keep a lot with me thus reducing the fixed storage of the phone. If Im outside taking pictures/vids, the more I take the less my avaliable storage becomes. Isnt it a very practicle thing to do that I whip out a memory card and viola 64GB of storage without needing to shut off the phone.
Now isnt that a big plus? If more space does not equal a plus then why would MS charge you more for more skydrive space? Its because its a premium. You might say "how on earth are you gona use all that space on the phone and on skydrive?" Years ago people also thought 200GB was massive for a HDD. You will find a way to use it. And if you cant use that space others will.

  • 4GB sandisk micro SDHC card for 6110

I have purchased the 4gb Sandisk card believing it is compatible.
I have copied old (512mb) card memory & 'phone memory to computer, removed old card, installed & formatted new card & restored info.
My problem is that even though the 'phone is showing 3.8gb of memory when I try & load maps of Europe (1.8gb) the message is "not enough memory" & even though the 'phone says "maps loaded" (when referring to the old Australia map) when I try & search an address it says "no search results. Please check your search string" & "streets not digitised" when looking at map outline.
It would seem the new card is not being recognised?
    Help!
    Stuart

When you copied the stuff off the old card did you enable the display of hidden and system files? If not, there's your answer.

  • Recommend micro sd card for z3 compact

You can go for a Samsung card,we do not know about compatibility though.

    Thanks for your response.
Yeah I looked into Sandisk but after googling I saw people say that the memory had become corrupt while in their handset (not just sony handsets, most brands.) or would eventually become 'not recognised.' Also over time when videos, music and photos started to build up they'd find a delay while flicking through pics while the devise accesses the card.
I suppose things differ from person to person and on different devices. Thanks again

  • E65 and 4gb Micro SDHC card

    Hi out there
I bought a 4gb Kingston Micro SDHC card for my new E65, but the phone don't regognize the card.
Can the card be used with the phone, and if so - how.
My phone has softwareversion 3.0633.69.00 from 06-02-08
    Thanks in advance

The card cannot be used with the E65.
The E65 only supports the micro SD standard so it's maximum is 2GB. 4GB cards are the newer SDHC standard and cannot be made to work on older hardware.

  • 3109c rebooting with micro-SD card inserted?

Hope someone can help me. I've a 3109c, which works fine with just it's SIM card in, but if I put in my micro-SD card as well (used to store music and some wallpaper pics on, about 500MB or so at the moment) it starts-up, but within 10 seconds or so sometimes either switches itself off and on again (reboots if you will) or just shuts down completely.
I think it's maybe something to do with the music player application (and the M4A tracks on the micro-SD), sometimes helped if I can dive in and get it to update the music library (and having a track stored in the phone memory seems to help too) it can be coaxed to work properly. It's then stable until it either gets powered off or the battery runs out of juice, at which point I've got to spend a while coaxing it back to life again...
It's a 2GB Sandisk Micro-SD card, which is currently reformatted down to 1GB in trying to help this issue (my WinXP PC for some reason won't format it to 2GB, although at the moment 1GB is enough space). I've tried updating the software via PC Suite, but it says I'm up to date.
Any clue would be appreciated, as it's driving me nuts trying to keep the thing perpetually powered and the battery alive Message Edited by darrenhill on 26-Nov-200706:49 PM

I am new to this discussion group and have more or less same problem.I have also formatted the memory card and it works fine with an adaptor in the laptop PC.
My Nokia 3109c has mp3 and I have inserted 2gb micro SD card. For some weeks I was able to listen to the songs. Now I am unable to access the memory card and play the player. When I connect the phone to the PC the USB does not recognise data storage. I have music files in the micro SD memory card but whn I play the player it syas 'No music files found'.
    Can some one help?

  • Can the Droid Charge read/write 64GB micro-SDXC cards?

Can the Droid Charge read/write 64GB micro-SDXC cards?
(or any micro-SDXC card, for that matter)
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi SandraW,
Thanks WCMack for your posting. I have been able to verify that the Samsung Charge has an onboard memory of 2GBs and a capacity to carry a 32GB memory card. It cannot old a 64GB card. I hope this helps.
Thanks and have a great day!

  • Micro SDHC card 16gb for X-Fi2?

I'm interested in buying another micro SD card for my X-Fi2. I plan to use it to store movies, so obviously I'd like it to be a decent size.
From the list of supported SD cards it looks like the SDHC cards from Sandisk are only supported up to 8gb. Ie, that the 6gb size is only supported in SD, not in SDHC.
I find this rather strange as micro cards that size aren't readily available in anything other than HC these days, as far as I can tell.
My question is this: has anyone had any experience using the 6gb Sandisk SDHC micro cards with the X-Fi2, and if so, does it work? I'm not too eager to spend the money on it and then find out it's no good. :-)
Thank you to anyone who can help!! :-)

    Hi,
SD cards that are not listed are not tested by Creative, it may or may not work. You might want to bring along the X-Fi2 for testing if you are planning to make a shopping trip.

  • M4 Aqua Micro Sd Card speed Specification

Hi,  I just bought a new M4 aqua phone. Now I am looking to buy a new Micro SD Card for my phone.I saw online that their are many speed specifications availaible for micro Sd cards, i.e. class 10, UHS 1, UHS 3 etc.... with Read/Write speeds ranging from 30Mb/sec to 95 Mb/Sec. I wanted to know what is the maximum possible Micro SD Card speed supported by M4 Aqua? I know that the maximum memory it supports is 128 Gb But what is the maximum possible speed SD Card that I can instalkl in M4 Aqua. RegardsYuri

Thank you all for your valuable inputs... They all were quite useful in making an informed decision.... I received the following official response from sony...Hopefully will be helpful to someone else also.....
    Dear Yuri,
Thank you for contacting the Sony Xperia support centre.
In regards of the Xperia M4 Aqua and the class of Micro SD card.
We would advise the device can use up to a 128GB, class 10 SD card.
Please avoid a UHS SD card as these are not compatible with the M4 Aqua.
Other then that you should face no issues with Micro SD cards.
    We hope this helps.
