Best way to be advised of changes to a single cached Entry?

To be advised of all adds/modifies/deletes to a single entry in a cache based on one specific key, what's the best way? create a continuous query with a InKeySetFilter?
Thanks,
Andrew

I believe you can add a MapListener with a specific key, don't need a CQC for that.

  • Best way to back out data changes after a release

    Hi,
I'm trying to decide on the best way to backup some production data in case a release fails and we need to roll back the changes. This would be for data updates only, not schema changes. We have extremely limited access to production, and another team handles all the RMAN backups. The people who actually implement our releases are also pretty prone to mistakes.
I have thought of two options. The tables we want to backup are about 9 MB total in size (it's about 10 codes tables).
    1. Create a bu table for each of the tables before the release. So for JENNSTABLE, we would create a JENNSTABLE_BU using CTAS. If we need to revert, we can drop JENNSTABLE and rename the JENNSTABLE_BU accordingly. The bu table would remain in production until the next release, where it would be reused again. This would be really easy to script and therefore avoid any mistakes by the production support team who implements our instructions. We would also be able to determine what values changed by querying the bu table at any time (currently old values are not retained anywhere).
    2. Use datapump to export the 10 tables, then truncate the tables and import the previously created files to restore the original data. I'm hesitant to use this method because I've never used datapump before, and as we don't have access to the servers, creating file system files makes me a little nervous. If I used a bu table, I can logon to the database and at least tell if it exists.
Are there any preferred methods for doing this (besides restoring a table w/ RMAN)? Is there a best practice? Any advice is appreciated!

    Hi sb92075,
That's a good suggestion. FLASHBACK_ON is set to no on my database, but if I understand correctly, I can still do a FLASHBACK TABLE and the undo data would be used. Is that correct?
My concerns w/ using Flashback are ..
    1) The client might decide to rollback the changes a week after they've been executed. The undo data might not be available and the flashback would fail.
    2) If any of the following processes are part of the release, the flashback wouldn't work:
"The following DDL operations change the structure of a table, so that you cannot subsequently use the TO SCN or TO TIMESTAMP clause to flash the table back to a time preceding the operation: upgrading, moving, or truncating a table; adding a constraint to a table, adding a table to a cluster; modifying or dropping a column; adding, dropping, merging, splitting, coalescing, or truncating a partition or subpartition (with the exception of adding a range partition)."
Can you address those two issues? Thanks so much for taking the time to respond! This forum has helped me immensely with my work.

  • Best way to allow user to change text and image

    Hi,
A friend wants to change his product images and pricing etc.,
    on his static web pages.
At the moment each product is within a cell in a table and
the cell below is where the text for details and pricing is. This
is the only area he will need to be in. Each product and edtails in
each cell of a table on each page.
He does not know anything about web design, Dreamweaver etc.,
but wants to do update himself.
I would like to know the best way for me to go about this
using DW CS3. Maybe there is another script or program that will
    allow this.
    Thanks

  • Best way for LWAPs to learn changed WLC IP address?

    Hello!
I'm implementing subnets at a customer's network, and one of these changes is to give a unique subnet to the WLAN users.
Since the APs store the WLC's IP address in NVRAM, I'm wondering what the best way is to get them to know its changed IP addres.  (I see that I can give the APs themselves new static IPs to use from within the WLC, but I don't see a clear way to tell them a new IP to contact for their controller.  After a reboot, they still are trying to associate to the original IP address of the WLC.)
I know we can go onto the console of each one and change it that way, but since these are mounted high up, that is not a particularly desirable solution...  ;^)
Thanks for any suggestions on the best way to go about making this change!
    Deb

If you have two wlc in redundancy configuration, you could always change one wlc address and make changes to the mobility groups and then move AP's over to the new ip wlc. Then change the other one and modify the wlc address in the mobility group again.
If you have one wlc and you don't want to use option 43 or DNS, you can always set the AP's high availability primary wlc info reflecting the new IP address. Even though you haven't changed the wlc management up yet, the AP's are still joined and known of that ip. So when you change the wlc IP address, the APs will already know the new IP address. I have just done this about a month ago with around 300+ AP's with no issues. You can use WCS/NCS or Prime if you have it, I just script the commands and paste it I tot he wlc CLI to make all the changes.
    Just another option.

  • WAD - Best way to layout master data fields for a single record

I am creating an employee profile which will be fed from various InfoProviders in BI. I am going to lay it out so that there is a master data section at the top and then below there will be various histories (salary, job, etc) and everything will be populated by the value of a single variable.
The question I have is what is the best way to lay out about 20 master data fields in the top section and have it look nice? My guess (and I am not fond of the tedium) is to create a bound text for each of them and bind it to the appropriate characteristic. Then just have the variable setting affect all of them.
    Anyone have any other ideas?

    Hello,
you can use the interface command:
    storm-control unicast level 10.00
    or
    storm-control unicast bps 10000000
The first command will limit bandwidth to 10% of what is available, the second will limit bandwidth to 10Mbps, effectively achieving the same thing.
Check this link to the relevant configuration reference:

  • Best way to get the customer changes - CDHDR or IDOC

    Hi All,
We have a new requirement to get the changes done for a customer/Material on everyday. We would like to know which way is better.
Is it better to get the changes documents from CDHDR and CDPOS or generate IDOC's through change pointers and get the data from IDOC's. We want to know which one has a better performance ?
    Regards,
    Phanindra

    Hi,
If you just want to extract the information for reporting, extract the data from CDHDR and CDPOS.  You can use function modules CHANGEDOCUMENT_READ/CHANGEDOCUMENT_READ_HEADERS/CHANGEDOCUMENT_READ_POSITIONS.  If you want to transfer the information to some other systems use IDOCs (with change pointer concept).

  • What is the best way to make a temporary change to my home page?

I plan to make a change to my home page that will last about a month. I will include information about a current exhibition I am having. Then I will revert back to my current page. My planned approach is to copy and save my current "domain" file, make changes to the copy, publish, then in a month revert backed to the saved original.
Does this sound like a good approach? Anyone see any problems in doing it this way or better ideas?
    Thanks, David http://web.mac.com/phelpssculpture/iWeb/

That's should be fine. Making a copy of your "Domain" files will backup your actual site that could be used to publish it again later on.

  • What is the best way to have several opt depends for a single feature

    Hello,
I'm the current maintainer of the shutter-bzr PKGBUILD: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=30671 In the current version I added several opt depends that are all needed for a single feature: Dropbox upload. Currently all the opt depends are listed separately, each of them stating "Dropbox upload support" as the additional feature they are needed for. Is there a way to merge opt depends to a single entry in such a case? What is the preferred way to manage such a case (I couldn't find anything like this in the PKGBUILD creation guidelines)?
    Thanks,
    PhotonX

If you have a form on the detail view of the web app and you populate the fields, lets say  "Product name" with the actual tag of the name as the value of the input. Then that will auto populate.
Since the user does not need to edit it you can even hide the field because its auto populated.

  • What is the best way to load 2 seperate tables to a single matrix

    Hi!
i suppose you sould create for example UNION query:
SELECT docdate, cardname, 'purch', docnum FROM OPCH
    UNION
SELECT docdate, cardname, 'order', docnum FROM OPOR
    ORDER BY 1
Then execute oRS.DoQuery and populate your matrix inside a loop...

  • Best way to load initial TimesTen database

I have a customer that wants to use TimesTen as a pure in-memory database. This IMDB has about 65 tables some having data upwards of 6 million rows. What is the best way to load this data? There is no cache-connect option being used. I am thinking insert is the only option here. Are there any other options?
    thansk

You can also use the TimesTen ttbulkcp command line utility, this tool is similar to SQL*Loader except it handles both import and export of data.
For example, the following command loads the rows listed in file foo.dump into a table called foo in database mydb, placing any error messages into the file foo.err.
    ttbulkcp -i -e foo.err dsn=mydb foo foo.dump
For more information on the ttbulkcp utility you can refer to the Oracle TimesTen API Reference Guide.

  • Best way to set up a scratch disc for a shared project?

I am currently working on a project with 4 seperate computers and users working from a shared external 10TB drive. What is the best way to set up the scratch disc and media cache folders?
Each worker is editing a sequence and then posting back to the 10TB drive.

Use the identical path (including drive letter) for Media Cache,
Preview Files and source media files on all machines.
Premiere will look to absolute, not relative paths for these files.

  • Best way to change from Oracle 11gR2 Standard Edition to Standard one..?

    Hi,
I have installed Oracle 11gR2 Standard edition+ installed database and additional software (which looks into the Oracle 11g database) in around 20 PCs (company)
But now the management says that they got license only for 11g Standard one edition (Standard one is significantly cheaper than standard edition)
So I have to change the Oracle edition from Standard to Standard one now..We only need standard one edition features in the PCs.
Can somebody please advise what would be the best way to do this? Do I have to uninstall all database and reinstall standard one edition again?
I will be grateful if somebody says some kind of upgrade is possible(in this case degrade!)..
Pls ..waiting for a reply..its very urgent!
    Thanks&regards..

Yes I agree there was standard and standard one options and I selected standard.
    But how to confirm?
    SQL> select banner from v$version;
    BANNER
    Oracle Database 11g Release 11.2.0.1.0 - Production
    PL/SQL Release 11.2.0.1.0 - Production
    CORE 11.2.0.1.0 Production
TNS for 32-bit Windows: Version 11.2.0.1.0 - Production
    NLSRTL Version 11.2.0.1.0 - Production
It doesnt say anything..where else will I check?
Also as said in the previous post,
    1) SE max. 4 sockets , SE1 2 sockets <======== hardware restriction
    2) No RAC on SE1
    3) No Automatic Workload Management (a RAC feature) on SE1
    These apply to us.
So can we get a SE1 license, since we are not on RAC and satisfy all criteria for standard one.
    Thanks&Regards

  • Best way to change Matrices/Articulations in VSL...

    Hi...
I've been using VSL for quite a while now, but with things getting more complicated I was hoping to streamline how I change matrices/articulations.
Firstly, I'm not a fan of keyswitching. I think it's messy and an odd way of doing things. It interferes with scores and isn't displayed clearly in the event list.
So my usual technique is to assign them to a controller (usually #73) and write the data in the hyper editor. That works to an extent, but when you have more than 3 articulations, it becomes difficult to work out which articulation you are selecting (either physically or as data). I have further issues though...
1/ When this data is written to (say) controller #73, it doesn't appear in the Hyper Editor (like vol/mod etc). So every time I have to select 'Create Hyper Set for Current Events' to see it which is a pain. How can I get this to always display in Hyper Editor?
2/ Is it right that VSL won't change articulation in time if it receives the matrix change and the note at the same time: on the beat. Currently I always have to write the matrix change just before the note change otherwise its not picked up in time.
3/ How do you guys do it?!
Thanks as always - Barack Obama

Well I think keyswitching in VSL combined with velocity/cell crossfading techniques is the best way to go. If you don't want to see your keyswitches in the score editor just set the note range of your Staff style so it doesn't display them. So if you have keyswitches from e.g. C1-F#1 set the note range in the staff from C2-G8 and you´ll be fine.
Also I susally use a combination of the piano roll and in the "view" tab click->Hyper Editor->Other->a little menue opens with Controller numbers, choose the Controller number (e.g.#73)->your controller data gets displayed below the piano roll-> save that as a screenset, so you can always switch screensets to see that combination of the Piano Roll and the selected Corntroller.

  • Best way to track changes

I have a table that has some project info in it. what is the best way to track when changes are made ?
    Here is an example.
    create table testing1 (
    projectid varchar2(50),
    value1 varchar2(50),
    value_date date
    insert into testing1 (projectid,value1)values ('1a2a3','12345');
    insert into testing1 (projectid,value1)values ('1a2a4','12645');
    insert into testing1 (projectid,value1)values ('1a2a5','17345');
--select * from testing1every day this table is dropped and recreated via a stored procedure I have running.
I would like to create a new table and procedure that does the below.
If there is a change in value1 i would like a new insert to be done with the projectid, the new value1, and the sysdate in the date column. if there is no change, there is no insert.
    any help is appreciated.
im not looking for someone to write everything for me (although that would be amazing), just looking for some ideas on the best way to do it.thanks again.
