I am looking to expand my protection from daily tape based backups to storing data in the cloud to speed up any disaster recovery process.
I am planning on backing up 3 of my most important machines using site recovery. This would bring my DC, SQL server and Exchange back online pretty much straight away.
For the rest of my servers etc and data I want to be able to back them up in azure vault. Then restore them from a DPM server I have in Azure.
I have created a server in azure with DPM and linked it to my azure vault, however I cant see any data being uploaded to the vault by my on premises DPM server - I'm guessing this is by design and there is no way around that?
Once my 3 main servers are back online. I want to be able to restore vhdx's straight from the vault and mount them in Azure - again I am unsure if this is possible?
From what I can gather, I would have to kind of have to restore the DPM database from my on premises server, over the DPM database from my azure server? Which should be easy enough as my on premises server sql server which holds the DPM database should
be back online in site recovery. This way it should be able to see the data in the vault?
Sorry if I haven't explained very well and thanks in advance for any help getting my head around the best way to do this.

Don't use snap-on cases or "skins" as these impede the heat dissipation necessary to keep your MacBook cool. They also tend to trap grit and dirt that will scratch the case anyway, except you won't know until you remove the case.

Hard cases protect the finish of your macbook, but they trap in heat, ....many here have spoken on same.
A major part of a macbook pro, especially a RETINA PRO is dissipating heat from the alloy case, which this case prevents from happening.
Yes, youre stopping all the scratch,.....and likewise keeping the Macbook from dissipating a lot of heat.

Congratulations on your MBPR! I had the exact same question when I bought mine. I ended up using a hard case and a sleeve. For the case I went with the Kuzy Hard Case and an Incase Deluxe Sleeve. Using a sleeve and case is great and I feel like my Macbook is very well protected and I am no longer scared of breaking it with this setup! Best of luck!

I also had my iPad stolen, and thats when other troubles started! I received an email on my PC stating that my iTunes password had been reset. The thief had done this! So I rang the Apple help line to ask what to do. they said just reset the password, and as the thief couldnt access my emails it would be okay,,the Apple emails also suggested this.   But that was the issue that stupid me hadnt realised!!! As the iPad was receiving my emails the the thief could easily reset the iTunes password , and download muic and videos on my credit card on iTunes!!         As happened to me.
Apple does not warn you of this possibility, even when i spoke to their Help line. And searched their website for advice
       So, my advice is, Do Not store your email password on your iPad, and maybe, do not leave your credit card details with iTunes? An irritation I know! If you have not done these things, then if your iPad is stolen then immediately change your email password, and stop your iTunes credit card.
     Probably iTunes need a safer way to change passwords, like an sms code to allow password changes, as relying on emails is not safe, as the thief will frequently be receiving those emails too!!!

Obfuscation helps but is not a complete solution.
Here is an idea to consider. Take the binaries(*.class) of the files you wish to protect and encrypt them. This would require you to write a small utility...not too hard. When you want to use these classes you decrypt them and dynamically load them. You could make a custom classloader to handle the details if you want to get fancy. The security of your classes would rest on the quality of the encryption you choose. A scheme such as this would be tough to reverse engineer using available tools.

I am an author embarking on the long process of reinventing myself--changing from a crime writer to a "literary writer"--for reasons that are too boring and stupid to explain. The nature of publishing these days is such that I will have to create a pseudonym, and submit my work as if I'm a total unknown--even at the agent level because, trust me, if a publisher asks an agent for my real identity the agent will give it. Therefore, it's crucial to me that no tech savvy assistant can simply check my IP address and go--"Hey, it's old so-and-so!" I don't want to use a "front." I could go through a lawyer, but that would be cumbersome and expensive.
I will be getting a separate "burner" phone for this venture, and of course use a P.O. Box rather than my home address. I still have to figure out the best way of getting a separate tax ID that won't be automatically linked to me--whether by a DBA or a corporate subsid.
I'm not worried about security of my actual computer.
My initial questions are:
Will I be able to send emails from my home network and still remain pseudonymous?
Will I have to use an entirely separate computer for Mr. Pseudonym?

The new plastics really don't have the discoloration problem, so you don't actually need palm rest protection. Any dirt can be taken care of with a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. I use only a silicone keyboard cover by Carapace to protect my macbook. I type so much that the letters often wear off my keys, and this will prevent that, as well as dust entering through the keyboard or, God forbid, any spilled liquid. The macbook heat vents are in the back, so my macbook does not overheat with the keyboard cover in place.

i use a silicon skin from the above manufacturer, and have done for just over a year. the back is a bit scratched, but not terribly, and i'm not too bothered about that.
i messed up putting on the screen protecter, so just gave up on it, and my screen is fine.

Please forgive my ignorance on this ubject but I have had a question raised from a colleague who has asked how we are going to protect our systems against malware? The type we are thinking about are SOAP attachments? We are currenlty looking to secure our SOA Services using a OWSM gateway with signed digital certificate verification. We will also have the obvious firewall security but how can I satisfy this question?

Good question!! In today's world you cann't be sure about anything but security experts advice to use secure communication (like HTTPS) till your gateway. Gateway (may be a switch) should have two way SSL-authentication (client and server authentication,both) turned on. It will ensure that only truted connections can enter your network.
Additionally, you can have Digital Signing to make sure the non-repudiation and integrity of data(as sign has the message digest as well). For highest level of security you can have encryption as well. For all these processes you will require only two certificates -
1. Server certificate -- identity of your server (switch), will be used in Server Authentication
2. Client certificate -- For signing and encryption and for client authentication
