http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/ab/9659400d9d1059e10000000a155106/frameset.htm
Sequence of Steps
We recommend that you execute the necessary steps in the following order:
       1.      Create an RFC destination in the J2EE-Engine in SAP EP 6.0
       2.      Create an RFC destination for SAP EP 6.0 in SAP BW
       3.      Maintain the portal server settings for SAP EP 6.0 in SAP BW
       4.      Maintain Single Sign-On in SAP BW
       5.      Export the BW certificate in SAP BW
       6.      Import the BW certificate in SAP EP 6.0
       7.      Create BW system in SAP EP 6.0
       8.      Configure user management in SAP EP 6.0
       9.      Export the portal certificate in SAP EP 6.0
   10.      Import the portal certificate in SAP BW
   11.      Set up repository manager for BW in SAP EP 6.0
   12.      Maintain user assignment in SAP EP 6.0
   13.      Import SAP Basis Plug-In in SAP BW
is it required to follow all these steps?
what are the prerequisites to integrate BW system in to Enterprise portal, i would like to work on all the scenarios mentioned in this link

  • BW Workbook as an iView in the Enterprise Portal

    I keeping getting a dialog box asking to select the appropriate program to open the workbook. When I select .xls it opens, and it shows the parameters I entered and not the workbook. The customer is on NW04 Stack 11.
    I followed ever step on help.sap.com site as listed below.
    BW workbooks are MS Excel workbooks with one or more embedded BW queries. You are able to display these workbooks in the Enterprise Portal as iViews.
    Features
    Workbooks are displayed in a separate MS Excel window. Opening workbooks within the Web browser window is not possible for technical reasons.
    BW workbooks require the BEx Analyzer, which requires a local installation of the SAP GUI for Windows with the BW front end.
    SAP recommends that you use BEx Web applications in the Enterprise Portal that run completely in the Web browser.
    You can use the function Export as Excel 2000 File from the BW Web application context menu as an alternative to using a local installation of the BW front end if you require Excel functions. See Context Menu Functions  and Exporting as a CSV File/Excel 2000 File.
    An iView with a workbook can be generated using the Portal Content Studio or Role Upload. For more information, see Generating Content from SAP BW for the Enterprise Portal.
    The iViews are of type SAP Transaction iView and have the code link com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap.Transaction.
    The most important properties are System, Transaction (TCODE) and ApplicationParameter.
    ·The System property contains the alias on the BW system (see Creating BW Systems in the  Portal).
    ·The transaction code for every workbook is RRMXP.
    ·The value WBID= is in the ApplicationParameter property.
    You can determine the workbook ID with the BEx Analyzer:
    a. Open the desired workbook.
    b. In the BEx toolbar, choose ® OLAP Functions for Active Cells ® Properties. The Information tab page contains the Workbook ID (Server).
    Note that with BW workbooks as an iView, the AutoStart property contains the value True (process first screen) and the GuiType property contains the value WinGui.
    Anyone have a solution for this to work?
    Thanks,
    -Eli

    Dear Rasmesh,
    Please try to do this suggestion:
    3. How can I use SAP Application Integrator to access SAP transactions?
    There are two different ways to use the SAP Application Integrator transaction iView. In both cases please use a URL like 'irj://com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap.Transaction' followed by your custom parameters like '?System=DEV&TCode=SE38&GuiType=WinGui &WinGui_Type=Shortcut&OkCode=SHOP'.
    The parameters are:
    System [mandatory]
    TCode [mandatory]
    GuiType (=WinGui / WebGui / JavaGui) [mandatory]
    WinGui_Type (=Shortcut ..if you want to launch the GUI in a new window)
    OkCode (The OkCode that you would like to be executed after the transcation is called by SAP GUI.)
    ApplicationParameter (Pass these values to your screen fields which needs to be be separated by
    AutoStart (true / false)
    UseSPO1 (true / false)
    For a complete list of parameters please consult http://help.sap.com.

  • Error while accessing a BI iView from the federated portal to the BI portal

    Hi,
    We got an issue when we execute BI report from our federated SAP Portal.
    The user can navigate into the portal, but when he executes an BI iView, sometime he gets the following error message:
    "500 Internal Server Error
    blabla...
    Root Cause
    The initial exception that caused the request to fail was:
    BEx Web application "xxxxx" does not exist. The application was either ended by a timeout or an error occurred, which was entered into the trace log. See SAP Notes 937697 and 948490"
    He can then refresh the page and execute the report again, and it will works.
    Here is our lanscape :
    Federated Portal EP6 SP18
    BI Portal SP20
    Iview are created on the Federated Portal and consume BI web template.
    I don't think about a timeout issue, since sometime we got the selection screen and once we click on a button (after some seconds) we got the error.
    Any ideas ?
    rgds,
    Sebastien

    Hello,
    Please could you remove the proxy setting and check whether it will give you same error or not.
    Even we have faced the similar similar issue and once we have removed the proxy setting and cross checked it , it worked fine and later we came to know that the problem is in network proxy setting application.Check with the net working team for the same.

    Hello,
    You can download these components from Service Market Place (service.sap.com/swdc) and:
    Download -> Support Packages and Patches -> Entry by Application Group -> "Support Packages and Patches" -> "SAP NetWeaver" -> "SAP NETWEAVER" -> "SAP NETWEAVER 2004S" -> "Entry by Component" -> "BI Java":
    BI BASE SERVICES 7.00
    BI WEB APPLICATIONS 7.00
    You have to download the SP that equals your APAP SP.
    Normally, these SCAs will be installed with installation of "BI Usage Type" of the J2EE engine.

  • Inclusion of BEx Web Applications as Single iView into a federated NW2004s

    Hi,
    GA limitation says "Inclusion of BEx Web Applications as Single iView into a federated NW2004s Portal". but at the same time, note 853505 says
    NetWeaver 2004s  BEx Web Applications Java in a NetWeaver 2004s Federated Portal Scenario
    NetWeaver 2004s  Ex Web Applications Java in a NetWeaver 2004s Federated Portal Scenario is not supported.
    This restriction is no longer valid.
    fixed with SP07
    ( Changed at 06.04.2006 )
    what does the sentence of GA limitation mean?
    Kind regards,
    Masaaki

    Hi Prakash,
    I have to implement federated portal and have to share the BW reports with BEA portal. In this scenario SAP EP 7.0-sp9 is the producer and BEA portal is consumer. I have created SAP bw iview in EP and want to share these iview with BEA. Doing so I will use the "WSRP based content sharing" feature of federated portal.
    I found the link for this configuartion in help site. If you have already implemented this and if you have step by step  guide to implement this, please pass it to me. It will be helpful to me. I will award the points.
    I did not get any document on how a BEA portal can register with SAP EP.
    Also, what WSDL path should I provide to BEA portal?
    Thanks in advance,

  • XCelsius + BICS + Publish to EP + BEx Web Application Designer

    Dear Friends,
    Any one have idea about how we can publish an XCelsius Dashboard (with BICS connectivity) to the SAP Enterprise portal using Bex Web Application Designer?
    I tried to publish the dashboard using the iView, by following the below link.
    http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOBJ/IntegrationofanXcelsiusdashboardinNetWeaverEnterprisePortal
    Since it can only support individual report, I can not use this option in my client.
    Appreciate your help to provide me the information how we can publish the dashboard using Bex Web Application Designer.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ajish George

    Hi,
    Did creating the iView using the instructions in the link work for one Xcelsius report?  Can you explain what you requirement is or expand on your comment "Since it can only support individual report, I can not use this option in my client.".  One iView can only launch one object.  If you have multiple BW connected XC files to launch I think that you will have to create multiple iViews with the "DASHBOARD=" each XC file value in each iViews  BEx Web iView query string parameter  setting.
    If you only want one link off of your Portal then you could create a BW 7.0 Web application where you could use objects like buttons to launch each individual URL string for the seperate dashboards.  The challenge with this would be that your URLs would be static and if you are using a regular BW landscape, DEV / QAS / PRD, then you would need to employ logic find and  update the system part of the URL.  I am not sure how this would be done, but it would probably require JavaScript.  If you do report development in your PRD system this would not be an issue.
    From a support perspective I would suggest using a container iView to group your XC reports together and then create a seperate iView for each XC report.  This eliminates dealing with the system identifier as the Portal enviroment manages this as the objects are transported through the systems.  A container iView with the action iViews in it would look like a menu structure on your Portal.

  • Call a web template with default parameter in  BEx Web Application D

    In BEx Web Application Designer, As in traditional way. Assume that I have a query which have parameters. When I create a web template using this query and excute it. the first page is displayed and I should input the parameters at this page(for example: "Period/Fiscal"). after I input the data and press Enter key. the <b>reporting page</b> is displayed.
    And Now I hope I can run the template at another way: the template should <b>direct go to the reporting page</b> with the preset parameters (for example: "Period/Fiscal = 2005.006").
    thanks

    Hi,
    Alternatively you may use command URL, to enforce the variable value during calling up the web template. For example:
    http://yourAppServer:yourPort/SAP/BW/BEx?CMD=LDOC&template_id=yourTemplate&var_name_1=myParameterVariable&var_value_ext_1=4711
    In the implementation you may create a web template that redirect the URL to above reporting link, so the user will directly see your reporting page.
    For detail you may check in the WAD documentation.
    Hope this helps.

  • BEx Web Applications in BPS Web Interfaces

    Hi all,
    I need to make a BPS web interface which enables the business user to see data in the BW system while posting the budget items in BPS. This is to be done in the Web, and I have therefore tried to implement a solution for the customer following the instructions in the HowTo-paper: "How To.... Integrate BEx Web Applications into BPS Web Interfaces".
    The report is displayed when the interface is executed, but the variable which I have included in the code does NOT have any effect on the BW query (which is a surprise to me) but rather only on the BPS Web Interface (which is no surprise to me).
    The above results in two questions:
    - What part of this code needs to be changed for the variable to take effect on the BW query as well as the BPS Web Interface:
    <iframe
        id="BWReport01"
        name="BWQUERY"
        src="/sap/bw/BEx?
        cmd=ldoc&TEMPLATE_ID=ALLOK_CHECK2"
        width="1200"
        height="600">
        Frames are not supported
    </iframe>
    <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
        var frame  = document.getElementByld( 'BWReport03' );
        var url    = '/sap/bw/BEx?cmdldoc&TEMPLATEID=';
        var filter = '&FILTER_IOBJNM=0PROFIT_CTR&FILTER_COLLAPS=&FILTER_VALUE_EXT=';
        var '1000/'  = '';
        var appl   = 'ALLOK_CHECK2';
        var varvl  = '%=descr(VarvlSel1_pctr/value)%>';
        var convert = /\((.*)\)/;
        convert.exec(varvl);
        if ( RegExp.$1 != "") varvl = RegExp.$1;
        url = url + appl + filter + comp + varvl;
        url = url.replace(/ /,"");
        frame.src = url;
    </script>
    Particular areas where I am in doubt (in squared brackets):
    [  var '1000/'  = ''; ]
    [  var convert = /\((.*)\)/; ]
    - has anyone had any experience in using the Selector Package (SEL_PACKAGE) rather than the Selector Variable Value (SEL_VARVL)? In case you have, how is it implemented in the HTML-code?
    Looking forward to hearing from you guys soon.
    Best regards
    Rune Rygaard

    Hi Rune,
    Here's what I found - I'm not sure it will solve your problem, but maybe it can give you some hints:
    <b><iframe
    id="BWReport01"
    name="BWQUERY"
    src="/sap/bw/BEx?
    cmd=ldoc&TEMPLATE_ID=ALLOK_CHECK2"
    width="1200"
    height="600">
    Frames are not supported
    </iframe></b>
    I think the section above in bold has to be deleted and replaced by the one specified in section 3.3 of the how to paper: <iframe id=BWReport03" name="BWQUERY" src="/sap/bw/mime/....</iframe>. The reason is the your defintion will display the report, but will not take any variables into consideration.
    Furthermore you're missing a '=' in your code (cmd=ldoc) - I marked it in bold below. What you could also do was to add an alert to display the URL generated by the javascript. I added that in bold as well. That can give you an idea of whats missing.
    Hope this helps,
    Jacob Lund - DK :o)
    <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
    var frame = document.getElementByld( 'BWReport03' );
    var url = '/sap/bw/BEx?<b>cmd=ldoc</b>&TEMPLATEID=';
    var filter = '&FILTER_IOBJNM=0PROFIT_CTR&FILTER_COLLAPS=&FILTER_VALUE_EXT=';
    var '1000/' = '';
    var appl = 'ALLOK_CHECK2';
    var varvl = '%=descr(VarvlSel1_pctr/value)%>';
    var convert = /\((.*)\)/;
    convert.exec(varvl);
    if ( RegExp.$1 != "") varvl = RegExp.$1;
    url = url + appl + filter + comp + varvl;
    url = url.replace(/ /,"");
    <b>alert (url);</b>
    frame.src = url;

  • Bex Web Application designer 3.x  windows 7

    Good Morning,
    Im trying to use Bex Web Application Designer SAP BW 3.x doenst working at windows 7.
    its ask one version above ie 5.
    Im using ie 8, i cant install the ie 7.
    there is anyway i solve this problem?
    i patched of last support package, even it not working
    thank u
    regards,
    Amit

    Dear Amit,
    unfortunately I get the same error here when I try to run the WAD 3.5 under Windows 7. I only can hope that there will be a work around, as SAP will officially support Win7 only with SAPGui 7.20 which will be released in Q1 next year. I did not get any information that BW 3.5 will still be included in Gui 7.20, but probably someone who is reading the forum from SAP can provide an answer...
    Another strange thing which I discovered in Win7 is, that when I execute a query and the variable screen is displayed, most of my variable descriptions are missing. When I toggle back and forth some windows everything appears correctly. So I guess that (hopefully) the display device driver needs only another update...

  • Different bar colors (BEx Web Application Designer)

    Hi SAP experts,
    I searched a while for my problem, but haven't found something. So I decided to post a new thread.
    I've a chart in BEx Web Application and like to set the color in subject to there values.
    For example: 12 bars for month 1 to 12, if the value is more than 100 set color bar red and if it's less than 100 set bar color to green.
    Any ideas.
    Thanks for your help.
    Best regards

    Thanks for help,
    I solved the problem.
    First I thought I have to do something in the WAD, but it's enough to create the exception in the query and the rest goes it's own way.
    Jiieeeaaahhh.
    Thanks. Sometimes it's so simple ;o)

  • Bex Web application designer

    Hi all,
    I have to customize a report that has been generated by the Bex Web application designer. The report is available on our portal under "Business Intelligence" > "Business explorer" > "Bex Portfolio".
    I need to understand the technical context. The generated report, is it a BSP? If yes, where can I find it in BW (which name)? I already know that in transaction RSRT I can retrieve the name of an ABAP program that has been generated by Bex, but I don't manage to figure out what it's used for.
    Thanks in advance,
    Jeroen

    Hi,
    Thanks for your reply.
    I want to add a contextmenu item 'do sth'. When the user rightclicks on a cell in the BW report & chooses 'do sth', an existing iView should be opened with some parameters that are dependent on where the user clicked in the report. Can all this be achieved in the WAD?
    Edit: I've been reading the WAD help and it seems to be possible using javascript. I'll open a new thread for more info on retrieving the parameter values.
    Thanks,
    Jeroen
