BEx Web Reports: Print only Results area??

Hi gurus,
I know that it is quite messy printing BEx Web reports with 3.5. ....
Is there the possibility to print only the results area of a BEx Web report, e.g. without the menus (e.g. Rows, Columns, Free Characteristics)??
Thanks a lot for your answers,
Sabine

  • BEx Map in Excel: Print only result area

    Hi experts,
    I am in BEx Map - Excel, and I am trying to print the result area ONLY, without key figures, legend and so on...
    Print Preview in Excel shows the key figures on the left, the legends on the right and a little version of the map (as if way too zoomed out) in the middle.
    I know there is a post dedicated to the "print only result area" but its solution is "web only"
    Thx,
    Olivier

    Arun,
    Attaching a map in BEx-Excel is different from attaching a chart. When attaching a map, you can't choose in which sheet/workbook the map will be displayed. A new sheet is automatically added to the workbook holding the BEx query, period.
    But thx anyway. I did try your thought

  • Launching a Bex web report in KM in a new window

    Hi All,
    I am trying to figure out how to configure KM so that it would launch a Bex web report in a new window
    instead of being displayed in the innerpage area.  The Bex web report is stored in a KM folder.
    Can someone point me in the right direction?
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Mel Calucin
    Bentley Portal Architect

    Hi Mel,
    If you have already assigned the Bex report to a role, then you can open the  bex iview and edit the property "Launch in New Window" to Display in separate portal window
    If the report is still not created and is existing in the KM you can create a KM navigation iview or KM document iview and specify the document path where the iview is exisiting OR you can open the bex report, capture the URL of it and create a URL iview for the same... you might want to refer to this thread for more details.
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/thread?threadID=1260067&tstart=0
    And when the iview is ready and the content is getting displayed accordingly, if you want to open the iview in a new window instead of the portal content area, you would have to follow the instructions given above ie to edit the property of iview "Launch in New Window" to Display in separate portal window

  • Sort variable values in selection box in BEx web report.

    Hello friends,
    In my BEx web report I have cal/month selection. When I do dropdown to select values it starts with 01/1960 and I have to click 10 times to get to 01/2006, 02/2006 and so forth.
    Is there a way to sort these values so I can get most current cal/month in first list?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    BJ

    I would consider changing the read mode for the dropdown box.  Are all of those dates actually relevant?  Check out the properties of the dropdown box in WAD.
    Thanks,

  • BEx web report selection screen entries retain when closing and opening the report again

    Hello all,
    please help me in the below query.
    Till last month the entries we made in BEx web report selection screen are retained in the selection screen even when we close the web report and open it again from portal without logging off. But recently this functionality is missing and the entries in selection screen are not remembered when we close and open the same report again. It is a good feature for the users. Have you come across this issue?

    No...I think i can reframe the question very clearly......For ex:  we are opening a Bex Web report...so initally we would be prompted by the variable selection screen...in which we have to give the entries(Values) for those variables like Cal month, Sales org, Company code, etc.....Later on the report will get open based on the values we have given......
    Now if we close the particular report without logging off then if i try to open the same report that selected values are missing.....earlier it used to remember the values we have given until we log off....But now that functionality is missing....It was very useful feature.....Can you please tel me what can be done to resolve this??
    I hope the explanation would be clear now.

  • BEx Web report returns 500 Internal Server Error

    Hi all,
    a user says that he can't run a BEx Web report (query BEx embedded in a WAD web template) because it returns the generic error "500 Internal Server Error". In the screenshot below some more informations about this issue:
    Some other informations:
    - says he can run others BEx Web report (which use the same WAD template on different queries)
    - says he can run the query via RSRT (so I guess there are no authorization problems)
    - says he can run this specific report with another user on his PC
    - says he can't run this specific report with his user on another PC
    - I copied his user and I can run this specific report.
    - browser used: internet explorer 8
    Any suggestions?

  • Printing a Web Report Using Firefox Results in Lost Session Variables

    Post Author: AVXFlyer
    CA Forum: .NET
    I'm  having a problem with Firefox users printing a Crystal Report from a web site.
    The first page of the web site collects information to be used in the report generation, for example, start date, end date, type of report etc.  These are all various text boxes, drop down lists, radio buttons and check boxes.  When the user clicks to show the report, everything works fine and the first page of the report will display. The code behind this page takes care of saving al the session variables into hidden fields on the page so the settings will be accessible when the user clicks to view the next page of the report.
    On clicking to view the next page of the report, everything is still fine and the process works beautifully and I've had no problems.
    A new problem has surfaced during the printing of these reports.  Users who use IE6.0 or IE 7.0 do not have a problem, however, users who use Firefox do have a problem.
    It seems that the print dialog which appears as part of the the Crystal web control manages to 'lose" the variables which were present on the calling page.  It only does this with the Firefox browser.  Calls on postback to retrieve the variables from the hidden fields result in 0's or empty strings ("").
    Protected Sub Page_Init(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Init .... ....  If Me.IsPostBack = False Then ... ...        strDiscontinuedOnly = Request.Form.Item("ddlInvStatus")             If strDiscontinuedOnly = Nothing Then                 isDiscontinuedOnly = False             Else                 Select Case strDiscontinuedOnly                     Case 0 'All Inventory                         isDiscontinuedOnly = False                     Case 1 'Discontinued Inventory                         isDiscontinuedOnly = True                     Case 2 'Active Inventory                         isDiscontinuedOnly = False                 End Select             End If Else 'Postback is true             intRequestedReport = Request.Form.Item("fldReportID")             strDiscontinuedOnly = Request.Form.Item("fldInvDiscItemsOnly")             isDiscontinuedOnly = Request.Form.Item("fldInvDiscItemsOnly") ... ... end if

    Can't explain it, but here are a few tests;
    1) Try to print a saved data report
    2) Try to print a report that is not using parameters
    3) Try a different printer driver as "default"
    4) Enable the option "Dissociate Formatting Page Size and Printer Paper Size" on the report
    5) What format do you export to?

  • WebI reports in Enterprise Portal - Are they static??

    Hi All,
    We currently have Bex reports on our enterprise Portal. Users can actually go to the portal and view the reports and go to edit mode and drag and drop objects and change the view the way they like and save it as a new view.
    We are planning to shift from Bex Reporting to business Objects. If I create an iview for WebI report and have the WebI report on the Portal, can we do the same. Can we still edit the Report and save a different report of it or is it more like a static page with just the data.
    We need to give atleast 100 users the ability to get to these queries and make changes to them as they like and save their own views.
    Also what is Knowledge Management? Does that give us the ability to create webI reports in enterprise Portal. Please calrify..
    Thank you,
    Aparna

    Hi
    you can edit a report which is visible over a URL iView and save it in the BOBJ repository under a different name (assuming your user has been assigned the appropriate auhtorizations in the bobj repository). The problem is that the iView will always invoke the original report.
    I would recommend using KMC. It provides you with the ability to view and create WebI reports from within the EP. Another option is to add a URL iView, hich starts the InfoView (simplified: BOBJ Portal) from within the portal. But the look and feel over the KMC integration is more EP complient.
    Take a look at the Installation and Administration Guide for the BOBJ XI Integration for SAP solutions.

  • Fetch table value in BEX Web report using Javascripts, and assign condition

    Hi Gurus,
    I am currently using WAD 3.5. I need to change the web report to behave like below :-
    1. Default layout (Field A B C) with condition A & B activated.
    2. If the drilldown Field B and C is removed, leaving only field B alone in the report drilldown, deactivate condition A & B, Activate condition C & D.
    3. the above can be reversed where user drilldown field B & C into the layout, the condition A & B need to then be activated back.
    So I believe this can be done using Javascript. So my questions are below
    1.) How do i fetch table value for the navigationblock ? with navigationblock i am able to know what are the columns are in the drilldown (i will not display free characteristics, so ignore this part). how do i read the content of NAVIGATIONBLOCK_1 as shown in following code? using javascript.
    <P><object>
             <param name="OWNER" value="SAP_BW"/>
             <param name="CMD" value="GET_ITEM"/>
             <param name="NAME" value="NAVIGATIONBLOCK_1"/>
             <param name="ITEM_CLASS" value="CL_RSR_WWW_ITEM_NAV_BLOCK"/>
             <param name="DATA_PROVIDER" value="DATAPROVIDER_1"/>
             <param name="SHOW_FREE_CHARACTERISTICS" value=""/>
             <param name="SHOW_NAVIGATION_ICONS" value=""/>
             <param name="SHOW_FILTER_ICONS" value=""/>
             ITEM:            NAVIGATIONBLOCK_1
    </object></P>
    2.) After question 1.) is done, please advice how do i activate/deactivate the conditions? based on the fields found in above. Maybe I can use IF navigationblock_1 contain field A only, then set condition A & B , etc.
    <p><object>
             <param name="OWNER" value="SAP_BW"/>
             <param name="CMD" value="GET_ITEM"/>
             <param name="NAME" value="CONDITIONLIST_1"/>
             <param name="ITEM_CLASS" value="CL_RSR_WWW_ITEM_CONDITION"/>
             <param name="DATA_PROVIDER" value="DATAPROVIDER_1"/>
             ITEM:            CONDITIONLIST_1
    </object>
    I would appreciate if we can solve Question 1 first before proceed to 2.)
    Please advise. Thanks

    Hi JTi,
    what i have understood from your requirement is that you want to access the web item table_1 in javascript, you can get that as below:
    Add
    <span>
    tag before your web item and set its id to table.
    <span id = "table">
    <param name="OWNER" value="SAP_BW"/>
    <param name="CMD" value="GET_ITEM"/>
    <param name="NAME" value="TABLE_1"/>
    <param name="ITEM_CLASS" value="CL_RSR_WWW_ITEM_GRID"/>
    <param name="DATA_PROVIDER" value="DATAPROVIDER_1"/>
    <param name="GENERATE_CAPTION" value=""/>
    <param name="CAPTION" value="jezel"/>
    <param name="ONLY_HIERARCHY_NAVIGATION" value="X"/>
    <param name="BLOCK_SIZE" value="0"/>
    <param name="SHOW_PAGING_AREA_BOTTOM" value=""/>
    ITEM: TABLE_1
    </span>
    In javascript access it as :
    var mytable = document.getElementsById("table");
    Hope this helps
    Thanks

  • How to Get List of Webi Reports in CMS which are scheduled?

    Dear Experts,
    I want to generate list of Web Intelligence Report which are scheduled.
    In addition to above, if I get destinations and in case BO Inbox of mail recipients, list of recipients we be an added advantage for me.
    is there any way, I can achieve this using SDK or sum of that matter?
    Any Clue / Suggestions will be a great help for me.
    Thanks you,
    Regards,
    Sachin Dalal

    You can use the following query:
    Select * from ci_infoobjects where si_name='<webi report name>' and si_instance=1
    This will return all scheduled instances in their default location for specified webi report.
    For each object you can retrieve:
    ((IProperties)((IProperties)oInfoObject.getSchedulingInfo().properties().getProperty("SI_DESTINATIONS").getValue()).getProperty("1").getValue()).getProperty("SI_PROGID).getValue().toString : returns managed for instances scheduled to enterprise user's inbox.
    ((IProperties)((IProperties)((IProperties)((IProperties)oInfoObject.getSchedulingInfo().properties().getProperty("SI_DESTINATIONS").getValue()).getProperty("1").getValue()).getProperty("SI_DESTSCHEDULEOPTIONS").getValue()).getProperty("SI_OUTPUT_FILES").getValue()).getProperty("1").getValue() -> returns the integer value of the SI_ID of the user where the report is scheduled in the user's inbox.
    Query for the instance in the query builder and you can see the structure for SI_DESTINATIONS property bag.
    Hope this help.

  • Make report print its result in one page twice

    Post Author: zecox
    CA Forum: Crystal Reports
                                                      I
    have a report, it generates result and I can print it out normally.
    The result takes up half of the page. What I want to do is to make the
    result repeat itself in empty bottom section. Does anybody have a clue
    how can this be accomplished. Thank you for your reply in advance.

    Create a blank report but don’t connect it to a datasource.
    Insert your existing report as a subreport in the detail section of blank report.
    Insert another detail section and insert your subreport again.
    In the blank report create the parameters that you will need to pass to the subreport.
    Map the parameters from the blank report to your subreports.

  • Insert comment or documentation into bex /web report

    Hi gurus, Can anyone guide me  how to allow users to insert comments or maybe documents into BEx report and Web report.
    Your help highly appreciated and will assign point accordingly
    Thank you

    Hi Andrey,
    yes, you're right - there is a standard-functionallity.
    But at least for the BEx Analyzer (and for the Web-Analyzer as well, which is the reason why the SAP published an How-To document "Building a Fast and Flexible Comment Solution for Bex Web Applications") this function has some disadvantages which raises the very common request to enter comment into Excel-Cells directly.
    But you're right - this "advanced commenting" feature was not really the point of this thread.
