BI 7 WAD Script item

Hi,
I need to call a java script function which I created using the Script item and will be calling that function from the Link object command.Some how this is not triggering the java script function when I click the link.
Any thoughts and thanks in advance

Hi All,
We have a requirement of displaying some text for a key figure value in WAD.
Scenario:
We have one input enabled query lets say Q1, in that a KF1 can have either 10 or 0 value. If user input 10, then in other report lets say Q2(which is display report), status should display 'Yes' and if 0 status should display 'No'. Kindly note reports are built in WAD
Doubts:
1. Can we replace keyfigure value with text in WAD using Script?
2. If Yes can you please share a sample code for the same.

try using modification module for analysis item, try with value "string" instead of "image"

Acess BW queries using WAD Web Items

Hello Experts,
I have developed a Dashboard in WAD, but now the client wants to use the Analysis and Chart Web items of WAD to jump to another BW queries.
My idea was to associate hyperlinks to the Web Items, but i'm not being able to do that.
Is this interface possible?

You can write a Java script or XML to jump into the BEx query designer . If you wish not to use RRI functinoality and want a link or any item to jump to the BEx output result

WAD Analysis Item not displaying results

Hi
I have a very simple web template, containing a dropdown, an analysis item and the last refreshed date of my query.
The dropdown displays the characteristics properly but the analysis item only shows the query columns headers not the data and a line "overall results", it's displaying only these two lines.
I used WAD 3.x before and the table item displayed this query results properly.
Is there some setting that has to be changed to display the data?
Am I using the right item, the analysis item ?
Any help is appreciated.

You have mentioned being on NW 7 EhP1 with SP 6 and patch 10. The SAP note clearly states that the correction is only available as part of a higher SP or patch which is either upgrading to "Support Package 07 for SAP NW BI7.0 EhP 1 BI JAVA" OR "Importing BI JAVA Patch SP06 #20 (Support Package 06, Patch level 20) for SAP EHP1 for NetWeaver 7.0 (7.01) BI JAVA into your BI-System".

How to call the getSystemmessages in script item ?

i want to make a popup for system messages with getSystemMessages() in the WAD, but i don´t know the right java syntax and how to call it exactly.
It is shown in this thread Link: [;
but the right code has been deleted.
In this thread is only an example code for a simple popup left but not for the systemmessages.

Sorry, this is not the solution for me.
I know that it is possible to show generally the systemmessages in the MESSAGES_LIST_ITEM with checking the box in the web item.
But my question is how to show it as a POP UP

WAD-Analysis Item-Poor performance for new lines

Hi.
I use WAD7 for entering new records in IP.
According to our business requirements, in analysis item properties I have defined "Number of New Lines in Planning Queries" = 50.
After that I face before extremely poor performance - it takes about 1-2 minutes until the page has loaded (note that it is empty page - only new blank rows).
When I define new lines = 1 performance is very good (2-3 sec).
Does anybody know what could be the problem ?

the number of new lines configured in WAD is completely unknown in the ABAP backend and has no impact on backend performance; in fact, the front end gets information about one 'line' of template cells, this costs nothing.
Checks for characteristic relationships etc. only may have significant costs for cells of the result set, not for new lines.
Whether this problem comes from the ABAP backed or form the Java stack or from the browser rendering can be checked
with an RSTT trace. Is the run time of the trace different between 1 or 50 new lines, were different backend calls recorded?
If not, the problem comes from the Java stack or from the browser rendering. One can check the latter via task manager.
To check (partially) the run time in Java and/or ABAP stack add the parameter &PROFILING=X in the url, cf. note 1048691.

How to fix column / row as "header" in WAD (Web item Analysis) ?

Hi,
is there a possibility to fix a column or row as "header" in web item analysis? (like freeze panes in excel)
When scrolling down, the header should always be displayed.

We did a custom proof of concept on this back in 3.5 using CSS and/or javascript. At that time there was no BW solution for this.
Don't know if 2004s has this ability or not. Here's a link to an example that shows how it can be done using CSS:

The item changes can be tracked using the CDHDR (for header changes) and CDPOS (item changes)tables.
The object class OBJECTCLAS has to be passed as 'EINKBELEG' for Purchase orders. And the object id OBJECTID has to be the purchase order number.The TABNAME field has to contain the table name (EKKO in the case of purchase orders).

WAD: Missing Items in 0ADHOC Web Template

In the Web Application Designer, when I open the 0ADHOC Web Template, it comes up with several missing items. Specifically, SAP_BW_TEXT_!llD_119, SAP_BW_TEXT_!llD_129, SAP_BW_TEXT_!llD_132.
Also, for some Web Items the image is missing. The web items are the Query View Selection, Broadcaster, Data Provider. There is a little red 'x' mark in the left hand side and the words "Image is missing"
Has anyone encountered this? If so could you pelase help me.

I have just made a test:
I have copied 0adhoc to zadhoc and then deleted SAP_BW_TEXT_!llD_129
then I executed template in IE and text "BEx Ad-hoc Analysis" is missing from the top of report
so those texts are exist as well
Only question is: does those texts numbers same for all systems?

WAD Web Item : Custom Extension

Hi,,
I have created a class for basically exporting data to excel sheet. i have created a web item custom extension and mapped the class to it through the parameters DP:included data provider details, variable details, navigation access and result set access.
and ultimately mapped to Button.
now when i am executing the Button doesnt work, so i have created a break point in the methods initialize and execute inside the class, but it doesnt seem to work. please suggest, if i have missed something while creating class/webitem/button.
I am basicaly trying to Export data to excel through class.

Automatic category gap to WAD chart item

Hi all,
I can't find the option I want for my Web Application Designer Chart Item.
I want.
I want to make the category gap dependant of the number of categories, as I only can find a constant number for category gaps.
For instance :
My chart has 0CALDAY as category values, and the chart timeframe is selectable by the user.
If the user chooses a 2 weeks timeframe, I can display each categories values which makes 15 days, but if the user chooses a one year timeframe, displaying all the days would become unreadable, so it would be better to display only one category each month.
Nevertheless, if you have any documentation for chart edition options, it will be helpfull.

the chart does not provide such an option. You have to use the static value for gaps.

can anyone send me an example for following problem:

I want to open a hyperlink (http://www.sap.com) in a frame (iframe1).
Therefor i need a function, that i can call later with a button.
2)
Is it possible to open a web Template with the "standard command" also in an iframe?

Anyway, you're JS code should look like

Need Calendar Year as a Variable in the Caption of an Analysis Item WAD 7

I am using Web Application Designer 7.X for the first time.
I am modifying a template that has the following Analysis Item in it:

The Caption of the table is currently set to "Employee Information". I need the Caption of the table to say "2007 Employee Information" where the year is the previous year. In other words, if the web application is executed in 2008, the title would say "2007 Employee Information". If the web application is executed in 2009, the tilte would say "2008 Employee Information".
I am very new to BW and WAD so a detailed explanation would be greatly appreciated.

I am trying to change the caption of the Analysis Item using Javascript, but the caption is showing up blank. This is my first attempt at writing Javascript so a detailed answer would be greatly appreciated.
I would like the caption to read "HR Data 2007" if the function is called in 2008. I would like the caption to read "HR Data 2008" if the function is called in 2009. So always use the previous year in the caption.
I took the following steps:
1. In Web Application Designer, I created a Script item in my Web template.
2. I created the function executeJS_SET_ITEM_PARAMTERS_R using the Script Editing Wizard.
3. I made modifications to the function to add the year into the caption.
4. I modified the XHTML by adding the function to the body onload. I am not sure if I need to do this part or if my syntax is correct here. I can't post how I formatted the body onload because this causes 500 errors when I try to post the message.
Here is the part of the function that I modified using the Script Editing Wizard.

Script Web item in Web Template not working

Hi Gurus
I m working with BI 7.0 , WAD 7.0 i have requirement of remove a characteristics from Drilldown from the Query output in web template
i have tried using SCRIPT_ITEM and from command wizard i have choosen the REMOVE DRILLDOWN command for that characteristics
but wen executing the web template this is SCRIPT is not working that is that characteristics is not removed form drilldown.
Am i missing sum other setting , do i need to call the script on sum event ?

I will show it for you from the beginning:
1. Action Before First Rendering -> Command (left mouse click on button) -> Choose Command -> OK
2. Action Before First Rendering -> Command (left mouse click on button) -> next -> next command -> here you choose other command.
You can do the same with script item and javascript too.
