BI Content 3.5.x to 7.0.x Newbie Question

What is the procedure to migrate BW3.5 installed (active) content to BW7.0 content? If I have installed BI Content for 3.x (example - Standard InfoCubes for HR), and plan on doing an upgrade to NW2004s, will I have to reinstall the HR standard cubes from 7.0.X content and merge the changes to make sure that my standard content is up to date?
Does any documentation (release notes/upgrade/migration) exist to explain the changes between 3.5.2/3.5.3 BI content and 7.0.2/7.0.3?

Another way is to use the BI Content screen in the workbench. When you select the cubes / Datastore (ODS) for installation the tool will show you any changed objects (ticked and marked with a calendar symbol) and any new components (only ticked). Then go to BI Content help text to find out what the new objects are.
Note: that if you wish to install the changes, do it in online mode to avoid removing any custom infoobjects that may have added. Installing in batch mode overwrites with the new version, while online it adds new objects, while retaining any existing ones, and gives you the option to accept changes.

Hi there everyone, first time in this forum.
Im creating a website for the first time in dreamweaver after using other programmes and have so far created a banner and nav bar across the left hand side. I am unsure on how i am meant to add any content into the actual centre of my page as there is no box there to write in or add pictures and when i create a image or div or table they all just hug the top of my page and refuse to go next to the navigation bar like i need to it! im sure it is simple but i am finding it so much harder to use than any other programme.
Im trying to do a list of pictures and descriptions for my mums business.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

Display contents of a loop in SCENE

Hi all,
Can i display the contents of a for loop one after another in a "Scene".
The code below displays the contents of "for" loop in OUTPUT window as well as in the "SCENE". But the problem is that the contents of "for" loop are displayed in the scene graph only after the for loop exits.
how can i rectify this code to generate the output similar to the OUTPUT window in SCENE graph.?

If you haven't understood my question,please execute this code and compare the output in the OUTPUT window with the SCENE output.

Since you haven't used the CODE button, the source code is messed up (star means bold here).
But the short answer is: don't use a loop with sleep()!

I have music on iPod touch that isn't listed in iTunes, can't seem to "manage" the content

Sheesh. I know it's supposed to be simple & intuitive, but I can't quite figure some things out. Now, I may have reloaded iTunes since I had to rebuild my PC. Fortunately, my library of music - mainly from CDs - was saved on a backup.
1. I have some music that isn't quite listed in iTunes
Creedence Clearwater Revival album Chronicle Volume 1 also shows up as Chronicle, Vol.1 on the iPod
but it shows up only as Chronicle, Vol. 1 in my Music Library. How did it duplicate itself and how do I get rid of the duplicates?
note that these duplicates do not appear in iTunes, so clicking on Display Duplicates does not find them.
2. I cannot remove the rogue versions of songs either directly from the iPod or from iTunes
3. I cannot adjust the columns or sort order when viewing my iPod's Music in iTunes
4. Sync is not checked for any of the categories in iTunes
if I check the Sync box for music, it states it will wipe out my music and replace it with my library. My whole library won't fit on my 8 GB iPod. How do I pick and choose what goes to the iPod. Do I really need to wipe out the contents of my iPod first?
5. Last question - Can I assign the album art that was ripped from my CDs to the albums/songs imported from My Music in Windows to iTunes?
So I'm a bit frustrated but very open to solutions. My iPod touch is maxed out and I want to adjust what content - pictures, apps, music & playlists only - gets loaded on the iPod.

- From your description you did something to iTunes on the computer such that the iPod sees ythe iTunes library as a new library. That is why you are getting the message about erasing when you try to sync. Yu can, as you are doing, managing music with the computer since you can do that among different conputer. See:

- If all music, apps, sysnced photos are on the computer you need to:
--- Make a backup of the iPod by connecting the iPod to the computer and right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and selecing Backup and then restore the iPod from that backup.

iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
- You can transfer non-iTunes purchaed music by using one of the third-party programs discussed here. Some of those may also do synced photos.

ArchiveLink and External Content Server

Newbie question.
Well, we are going to try to implement ArchiveLink HTTP interface 4.5 for a DMS to be able to use it as certified external content server. We are planning to user java/jsp. We can specify content server as 'http://mycontentserver:8080' and in script 'contentserver.jsp'. That part I understand. SAP is going to call contentserver.jsp and will append a request like 'getDoc' to it along with other parameters like docId, contRep, authId, expiration etc. The URL will look like http://mycontentserver:8080/contentserver.jsp?getDoc&contRep&authId&expiration. Is it correct that the contentserver.jsp will have to parse these parameters and create a getDocument request understandable for the DMS? Secondly, what if the DMS is not storing documents in components? Do we then have to modify the underlying DMS architecture to make it support SAP document structure (one document can have one or many components)?

How to edit the contents of spools generated by smartforms

Hi All,
I am developing a print form using print work bench & smartforms.
There is a requirement to generate both preprinted forms (contains only datas) and Non-preprinted forms (contains u2026 data + layout + colors + picturesu2026etc) using a single smartform.In which the non-preprinted part should only get converted into pdf & preprinted should only be get printed.
For this I am making a replica of the first two pages of non-preprinted into preprinted format in the same smartform(total 4 pages).
Here I am able to extract & save the non-preprinted part from the spool into PDF.
After the above process, I want to edit the spool content, & then sent to printer.
But clueless about editing the spool content...
( for eg:- delete the first two pages of content in the spool & print the rest)
So my question is u2026.
-Is it possible to edit the contents of spool generated by smartforms u2026 ?
(Is it possible to copy the content of existing spool ,edit, save it into new spool and delete the old one. )
Any solutions / suggestions u2026 ?

Yes, I got your point... I even tried this option also.
First of all the user want both(preprinted-hardcopy & non-preprinted pdf) form in a single process, so that data integrity is maintained both in hardcopy & soft copy.
Even if I negotiate tha above requirement....
The problem is , I am using Print WorkBench , not an user-defined driver program.Inside printworkbench , the smartform is mentioned.
The process is as follows...
ea40/ea60(isu billing transaction) -> Printworkbench ->smartforms -> spool -> printer(preprint part) / pdf(non - preprint).
Hope u understand my limitations....

Can I define more than one table in one External Content Type

Hello,
I am new to the BCS development using SharePoint Designer 2010. I tried to create multiple SQL tables by referring to the same External Content Type with no success. Since the External Content Type shows all my SQL tables in the same database,
I though it would allow me to create a different list on another table from the same database. Is this possible?
When I tried to use the same External Content Type for the second table, it refers back to the first table identifier unless I create another External Content Type refer to the same database but point to the different table.

As far as I know you can only use one table per external content type.

Using Views to access XML Content

I was wondering if anyone can help me in these questions.
I created a view to access XML Content in the database for reports. My first question is I have 18 properties in the xml document but when I created the view I only retrieve one property information. What dO I need to change in my XPath query to get all the properties see script below

I have access to all the documents (JavaScript via Mozilla, Adobe JavaScript API, XFA API etc etc) but none are specific enough to cater for this issue. I will work this out before too long but it would be very useful if someone who had done this already could shortcut my journey!

Retrieving content via CM tags

This is a newbie question, but I could not find the answer in any documentation, and I've been stuck on this for a while!
In retrieving content using content management tags (WL8.1 SP5), do my JSPs have to be in the same WL application as the Portal app? Same managed server?
If the answer is yes, this seems like a big limitation since I have to deploy all jsps accessing the repository on the same instance.

Create content modell, logical/physical document class, TA CT04/cl02/dc10

Dear experts,
Im about to get to know the SAP DMS. Content Server is already running working as well as the content repositories. I now wanna set up a content modell for testing with knowledge provider.
Im a bit confused about the different ways of doing that. What is actually the difference between creating a CHAR in TA ct04, creating a class in Cl02 with type 017 and the alternative of creating a content model with TA SRMCMCREATE or directly in the document modelling workbench.
Once ive hopefully understood the difference how can i start actually creating / uploading real (physical documents) cause in dont understand what TAs cvn01n/02n/03n are for.
There is a large number of function modules for kpro. Fo example when testing SDOK_LOIOS_CREATE i have to enter an RFC destination. What do i have to type in as RFC destination intending to store in content repositories of content server?
I know thats more than one question at a time but i would be very pleased some of these get answered.

I would like to start providing you information with CT04 question. Here the CHAR value is used for maintaining the type of classification characteristics. The CHAR entry stands for 'Character' type which
means you can add alphabetical and numerical values to this classification characteristic. Transaction CT04 is normally used for creating classification characteristics. In CL02 you can create a class for
classification and then add the characteristics to it. In the standard class type 017 is used for classifying document info records.
Transaction CV01N/CV02N/CV03N are used in standard for document managment functionalities. Here you can create/edit/display your document info records. These document info records are like a frame for your original files which could be added to an info record and then checked into your Content Server.
During this check in function the KPRO function modules are used too.
For further information I would recommend you to see the SAP online documentation under http://help.sap.com.

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to check if the content type is used by older versions of the documents.
You can check the usage of the content type using PowerShell like below:
$ct = $web.ContentTypes[$contentType]
$ctusage = [Microsoft.SharePoint.SPContentTypeUsage]::GetUsages($ct)

How to use an own plugin to add 3d-content

Hi,
I have started to develop a plugin for Acrobat 8.0 that will add some kind of 3d-content to an existing model. I tried somewhat, but I face the problem that I can't find out how to use the plugin in Acrobat with Javascript. I added the .api file in the folder Acrobat/Plugins and the plugin is loaded.
But I can't find out how to use the methods of the plugin. I always get the error: 'can't found [methodname]'. Do you need to use some kind of prefix, or whatever. Perhaps this is a newbie question, but I can't find out it in the documentation.
Any help will be fine!

That's right. You can't.

You cannot use the methods of a plug-in. They are for its own internal
use.
A plug-in registers for call backs. Most obviously menu selections,
but also selecting a tool, clicking on a button, opening a document,
changing page etc. Also it can register an "idle" procedure to be run
when Acrobat is not busy, at intervals. Your plug-in code is run, by
Acrobat, at these moments.

Newbie: managing content types with metadata - inheritance

Hello all,
a newbie-question:
Is it possible to set up new contenttypes with a hierarchical structure ?
For instance: every contenttype should have a meta-datafield called TEST123.
Can we make a 'superclass' contenttype with above mentioned meta-datafield and every contenttype created 'under' the superclass should inherit this meta-datafield.
Is this possible ? Or should we create every new contenttype with metadata TEST123 seperately ?

In fact if you create a metadatafield TEST123, that field is available for every content type.
I think you need to look at profiling. A profile is a set of metadatafields. For example you create a set called Document. That set holds field like:
TEST123
Type
Title
Author
You could then create severall profiles using that set, including other sets. In fact you could see a profile as a composite of different sets. In ECM these sets are called rules.
