BI under nw7.3

Hello
I would like to install an BI system based on NW7.3
After starting sapinst from..51041560/DATA_UNITS/NW730_IM_HPUX_IA64_ORA I get options..
Application server ABAP
Process integration
Application server java
Standalone engines
Additional SAP System instances
I wnder what is the right way to install an BI system(first Application server ABAP
then Application server java or?)
I started this way but did not yet encountered usage tyes etc like under nw7.0.
Maybe it is somewhere described

Hello,
Since 7.01 it is recommended to install separate ABAP and Java instances, not Dual Stack.
So for ABAP, you start with AS ABAP and later you will have to apply BI_CONT component on top of this NW 7.3 ABAP system to make it a BW system.

Sapinst under RAC 11.2 using ACFS and ASM

Hi all,
we are actually doing some installationtests (BankingService-Netweaver 7.02) ) on a 2Node-RAC-Cluster with the actual sapinst based on OEL 5.5, Oragrid 11.2.0.2 and OracleBin 11.2.0.2.
We doing a HA-Installation and we put all "DB-related" files in ASM.
We put all failovercritical Filesystems on ACFS.
We are no ASM-mirroring (but SAN-based)
Of course we know that this combination is not (yet) SAP-certified - but it works fine.
We are using different Oracle-Users" as grid-ower (oragrid) and "DB-owner" (standard: ora<sid>).
We faced some privilege-problems regarding the cluster-ressources for ora<sid> -> apart from that the installations run without any issues.
As sapinst asked for the sapdata-directories, we answered with the ASM-structure.
So sapinst creates the +ASM-dierectories (if he what to...) and puts the coresponding create_sql-commands towards the DB, which where corectly interpreted against ASM.
So here some questions:
does anybody know, when there will be a sapinst with complete ASM-support?
should we use just one oracle-user?
is there a naming-standard for the RAC-instances?
are there brtools availbale with complete ASM-support?

Deploying the WAR file in Netweaver 7.1 server

Hi,
I am new to SAP NW 7.1. I have a J2ee application which is build in non-netweaver technology.
In Netweaver 7.0 server using Visual Administrator Tool (<Drive>:\usr\sap\<SAPSID>\<Instance_Name>\j2ee\admin\go.bat)
we can use the services for the deployment of any J2EE application as EAR.
But in Netweaver 7.1 server, I am not finding the Visual Administrator Tool.
Please do let me know, How do I deploy my application EAR file in the Netweaver 7.1 server.

We do not have a NWDS and the deployment of the ear file by unsing JSPM failes even after renaming it into a .sca and .sda file.
The solution in our case was to deploy the ear file by using telnet. (sounds unbelivable - but it works)
telnet localhost 5<sys#>008
user/PW
Detaild help by using the man command
DEPLOY....
It took us half a day to figure out how it works.....

SAP netweaver 7.4 abap on fiori

Hi Experts ,
We're planning to build fiori system before starting I think we need to install the SAP NETWEAVER 7.4 ABAP ?
Also gateway 2.0 is also a prerequisite what I want to know is which s/w component do i need to select for installation of SAP netweaver ABAP 7.4 .
Is Component 51045590 SAP NWAsABAP suite under NW7.4 in SMP is enough or shal i need to install any other components as well gateway comes by default in nw7.4

Servlet Action not found , deploying the war file in Tomcat5.0.28

I face the error servletAction ot found , when deplying the war on my system.I am using win98. when I run the struts-blank.war file is working fine .
So please help me.
I have also another probelm in Netbean 4.1
I fixed the error of out of space by incresing the Dos memory
Now the server is Started but it is not. able to deploy the war . This problem is happening using Netbean4.1 in windows98 system.

Deploy Dc that compiles under jdk1.5 in NW7.0

Hi
In my project a need a library that can be compiled only under jdk1.5. The library is POI 3.6.
My server however is NW7.0 and runs under JDK 1.4.
Is it possible to create a DC for the classes I need (POI 3.8) , compile it under jdk1.5 and treat it as a used DC in my main DC that runs under JDK 1.4?
I hope someone understand me...

NW7.0 install under linux - Rapid Installer

Hello,
I tried to install NW7.0 SR3 (SPS14) under OpenSUSE Linux 11 with a Rapid Installer package.
The installation routine started and the first screen was shown (installation type). I marked the rapid installation of NW7.0 and clicked next. A few seconds later a message was shown with the information:
"This computer's hostname is 'linuxportal.mydomain.de'. but a reverse lookup returned 'linuxportal.mydomain.de'......SOLUTION: Insert a line: '10.20.30.40 linuxportal.mydomain.de' into the host file '/etc/hosts' and then continue with the installation."
I added this line to the file, restart the server and the same messagebox was shown in the same installation step.
A nslookup command on teh console gave the correct mapping of the hostname to the ip-address. a o´ping on the ip-address and on the hostname was successful.
What can I do th solve this installtion problem? Any ideas?

ok, I think, I have solved the problem. It is necessary to add two lines in the /etc/hosts file, one with the real ip-adress and the hostname and one with the ip-address 127.0.0.2 and the hostname - like this
10.20.20.40 linuxportal.mydomain.de
127.0.0.2 linuxportal.mydomain.de

SAP JAVA Export alone NW7.3

Hi All,
We are using NW7.3 for SAP BPM Application.
We are planning for Source system java export alone in NW 7.3. But we don't find the option for central instance export under based on AS java in SAPINST. only database instance export option only exist. I know there is no central instance concept from NW7.3. We are trying to refresh the CATE system using Production system. we are already performed database refresh in CATE system and trying to export java profile in source system and import into CATE system.
Please tell us the procedure for central instance export in NW7.3.

there is no option to export CI in NW 7.3. SAP has moved all java related data to Database.

Changes in htmlb rendering in NW7 ?

Hello everybody,
I've noticed following changes in my htmlb GUI after we migrated our EP6 Developer Portal to NW7:
- radioButtons:
radioButton and the radioButton-Text are vertically not middled
- TabStrips
before migrated I could set width and length per tabStripItem.
After migration ALL tabStripItems have the same width an length !!!
Any idea how i could solve this issues ?

FYI, in order to keep the file as perfect 256 steps, I'm not doing an conversions, just pasting channels and assigning profiles, and res'ing nearest neighbor. The file has been assigned Colormatch. If I reassign AbobeRGB and change my working space to Adobe in CS and CC, again, the composite color draws differently, while the channels draw perfectly (no stepping) and identically. Strangely, if I add an alpha, mulitchannel, assign CMYK, they draw the same. If I screen shoot on my secondary monitor, also running off the Radeon, on the file in Colormatch, again the RGB color composite is rendered differently in CS and CC.
There are tons of tests I could run on this, but I lost a day already thinking my monitor was messed. Under all circumstances on my machine (BW/RGB/Lab/4C), the single channels draw fine with a 1.8 gamma setting on the NEC (but not on 20%, etc).
It is hard to come to any conclusion other than Adobe has decided to render gamma/color differently in RGB via OpenGL/CL above the basic setting.

SSO to partner application running under IIS

Hi,
We have a complete set-up for 9iAS Release2 where some applications are running. In parallell we have an application running under IIS, and would now like to enable the IIS application as a partner application to 9iAS letting the 9iAS SSO server handle the authentication.
In the documentation of Oracle Proxy Plug-in I read that this proxy plug-in can be used to proxy requests from IIS to Oracle http server (OHS) and also in this way enable SSO.
My question is if this can be done only for applications running under 9iAS but having IIS as web server, or if it is also possible like in our case to enable SSO via the proxy plug-in to applications runnind under IIS?
If this is not supported is the only available solution to use the SSO SDK in my IIS application?

If the software is in the HD>Applications folder it's available to everyone. If for some reason you put software into User>Applications folder it will be available only to that user.

Application working under NetBeans but not as a *.jar file

Hello,
recently I found a little problem. I wrote application that shows all available ports in my computer. When I am running this applications under NetBeans it works with no problem - finds all available ports. Then I am building it to the *.jar file. Application is working with no problem but command:
Enumeration PortIds = CommPortIdentifier.getPortIdentifiers();
is not returning any identifiers - PortIds is empty.
Anyone knows a solution for this type of problems? Thanks

1. What is your JDeveloper version? (Always better to post your JDev version along with the question, which would help us to help you better).
2. Did you try adding webserviceclient.jar to the classpath? (Search in your JDev installation directory for the location of this jar file).

Application stuck under menu toolbar

An application I'm running (Filezilla FTP client) is stuck under the mac menu toolbar. I can't grab the toolbar of the application to move it or access what I need to access. I've researched this issue and other people have had the same problem, but none of their solutions have worked for me. I've tried changing the resolution of my screen, disconnecting my dual monitor, "zoom" is not available in the program I'm working with, and I've tried a multitude of expose/spaces/random key commands to no avail. Any other ideas?

I can't see from your screenshot if there available screen space around the window. You could try dragging the window down from one of the bottom edge - making it smaller first if necessary (when the cursor is near the edge it has double arrow that indicates changing the window size), then make sure that your mouse is enough inside the window that the cursor is a normal one-arrow and drag it down. Repeat if necessary until the title bar reappears.
