BIG BLACK LINE IN MIDDLE OF PAGE AFTER CONVERSION

I just subscribed; converted a pdf to docx.
The circles on the original came out as half-circles and arcs.
There is a large thick black line in the middle of the page.
This is a form I purchased from Natural Forms.
Any suggestions?
Thank you

  • Vertical black lines down middle of page

    Hi folks,
I have an LaserJet 4250n that's putting vertical light black smudges/lines down the center of my pages. It's all the way down, but it gets lighter at certain points and picks back up again. I've tried replacing the toner cartridge and cleaning the rollers, to no avail.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

    Hi James,
I am a printer technician for HP in Australia and a full time employee. I look after many printers including this one.
Lines down the page can be caused by a few things - depending on what the line looks like.
If it is a smudged dirty streaky mark continously down the page, you migh have a dirty fuser - it may have been picking up toner and it has built up and then put it back down on the paper.
A thin defined black line might be a scratched drum or developer - the laser might be refracting and drawing the defect onto the drum.
Blank or white lines could be something stopping the toner from getting to the paper - transfer roller under the toner might have something stuck on it.
A repeated mark or defect could also be a dirty fuser - glue or wax from envelopes and labels could do this.
Try swapping the toner with another to test - borrow one if you can.
Run 3 or 4 cleaning pages - in the menu, configure device, print quality menu, create/process cleaning page.
Remove the fuser - back door comes off, little blue clips, pull it. out - rotate using the green knob and you might be able to gently remove something stuck in it.
If you can get to another 4250 or 4350 you could borrow the fuser and find out.
For this machine, I find worn out fusers and dirty printers are most commonly showing these symptoms.  Next common is low quality after market cartridges.
Hope I can help you here

  • My ipod screen is white with small vertical lines with one big black line in the middle

My ipod's screen turned white and had a few thin vertical lines and 1 thick black line in the center. the ipod can still play music but i have to randomly press the icons by memory to play music since I cannot figure out where the icons are. It all started after downloading a free app. I was browsing my ipod when the screen turned white. I already restored it to its original settings. I don't remember dropping my ipod. Help!

Since restoring the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod did not solve the problem it appears that you have a hardware problem.  I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • Black line down middle of copies from Auto Document Feeder. Canon mx922.

When printing copies through te Auto Document Feeder (the feeder on top) of my Canon mx922, a black line appears down the middle of the page. How do I clean the ADF/ fix this problem? Thank you.

    Hi ChrisCanon,
The lines on copies that you are experiencing is a result of the scan glass being dirty or scratched.  The scan glass that the printer uses when scanning from the ADF is located to the left of the larger glass area (platen) when you open the cover.  It is the smaller glass strip on the left hand side of the unit.
Spray some glass cleaner on a paper towel and then clean the smaller glass area.  Once cleaned, try scanning from the ADF again.

  • Thin horizontal black line at BOTTOM of page when scan on HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus

I owned an HP Officejet Pro 8500 and scanning was perfect.  I recently purchased an HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus.
When I scan from the HP 8600 auto document feeder, I get a thin (several pixel wide) black line along the bottom edge of the resulting scan.  This line will sometimes be slighly crooked or only appear across half the page, in which case it tends to get thicker toward the edge of the page).  I believe this line is an artifact from scanning the very bottom edge of the oroginal document.  I think it is showing where the bottom edge of the page was when scanned.  If the document is a little skewed, then the black line at the bottom will be a little crooked, probably following the edge of the page.  This problem is consistent, and repeatable.  It happens in both "Scan To E-mail" mode and "Scan To Network Folder" mode.
When I scan from the flat bed, I get a very narrow black line along the very top edge of the resulting scan, but the bottom appears fine (although I've not tested this extensively).
These thin black lines did not occur when scanning from the HP 8500.
I am wondering if there is a setting to adjust this, or if it is a firmware difference between printers that needs debugging.

I find it interesting that the issue happens across both printers.  This is what leads me to believe this is something with the software/connection with the PC.  One thing I will note is that you mentioned above using Adobe Reader 10.1.6.  The latest version of Adobe Reader is 11.0.02.  I would advise removing your current version of Adobe Reader and install the latest version.
I am not sure if this will fix the issue as you mentioned the line comes across in jpeg and other scanning styles.  Do you possibly have another PC you could try setting up a connection with quickly and attempting a scan?  This would be another way to ensure if the issue is coming from the printer or a connection/software issue.
I would like to make sure the issue is coming from the scanners on these printers before returning the printers as I would hate for you to get another model printer and the issue remain with this printer as well.  However, I will note that the Laserjet Pro 200 is a nice series printer from my experience.  I have used the Laserjet Pro 200 black and white only edition, the MFP, and the TopShot edition where I am located.

  • How do I remove the black line of the original artboard after increasing the size?

I increased my document from 8.5"x11" to 22"x34" and a black line of the original document remains.  Can anyone tell me how to get rid of it?  It is not selectable - the word "x page" appears when my cursor hovers on it.  I'm working in C6. Thanks for your help!

    You are welcome, Posterongarth.
Are you sure you have not created two Artboards?
I believe someone with CS6 will have to give further answers.
    Someone?

  • Undefined black line vertically on printed page

A narrow undefined line appears about two inches from the left edge of a page (and not totally consistent in how dark it is.  Very faint if no print on the page.   The more text the more noticable it appears.
Additionally -- if there is heavy toner in that area it appears to remove the toner leaving a white but dirty narrow line.   But if it's just regular printed text it does *not* score thru a letter, it just appears as this dirty line in the background.
It's not the cartridge.     Can't see anything inside the printer that looks likely.

Hello sam_k, welcome to the forums
I understand you are noticing a black line. Please let me know some more information and I will certainly look into this for you!
    1. Which Operating System you are running:
Which Windows Operating System am I running?
Mac OS X: How Do I Find Which Mac OS X Version Is on My Computer?
    2. What is your printers Model Number:
How Do I Find My Model Number?
    3. Do you noticed the black line when you print, scan, copy, or fax?
    4. How is your printer connected to your PC? Ethernet, wireless or USB?
In the meantime, try Resetting the Printer and plug the printer in directly to the wall outlet, avoiding power bars and surge protectors. This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.

  • Black line down middle of copies

  • How to have a line down middle of page betw 2 columns but...

for some graphics, the graphics flow over the two columns. In setting up a template, how to make that line be flexible so that when there is a graphic that takes up more space, the graphic has an amount of white space around it..(would that be an object style). Ok, would you put the line on the master page?

If you are referring to text wrap when you say outset, then it will push the text in the main frame out of the way, but it won't push the rule or leave a gap next to it. The only way to do that is to adjust the rule or hide it with something (like the [Paper] stroke).
If the caption frame is going to be below the image, this gets more complicated, especially if the image isn't always at the top of the page. About the best you can do for that is to apply the same stroke to both the image and caption frame, and have them overlap or touch, which means you can have spacing between the two from the width of the stroke to twice the width, but not more. You'll also need to fill the caption frame with paper to knock out the rule.
If the image group will always completely cover one end or the other of the rule you can pay with different width strokes for the two frames.
It might be best to put a grouped image/caption frame in a library, already styled, or leave one on the pasteboard somewhere.

  • Big black line

Whenever I watch TV through my vision box there is a thick black line at the top of the screen which I can't remove.  On the left hand side it says AV2 (RGB)  any ideas on how I can get rid of it?

Check also your tv may be set to just scan, in which case sometimes the picture isn't fully filled (black bars or not).
Though this won't crop the picture, many opt for a 16:9 setting on both the tv and the box to correct this (but then the downside is sometimes you can lose a little off the native picture).

  • Vertical Black Lines on L & R edge after 4:3 PAL - 4:3 NTSC conversion

I used Hanumang's brilliant PAL to NTSC formula as follows:
"Load your DV PAL movie into Compressor 2, then choose Advanced Format Conversions > DV NTSC from the settings. Then, under the Frame Controls tab, alter your settings to:
    Frame Controls: Custom
    Resize Filter: Better (Linear Filter)
    Output Fields: Bottom First
    Deinterlace: Better Motion Adaptive
    Adaptive Details: checked
    Rate Conversion: Better (Motion Compensated)"
So does anyone have any idea why I'm getting a narrow black line on both vertical edges of the frame . . ? And more importantly - how I can get rid of them!
I know they won't show on a 4:3 TV but they may well show up on a wider screen if the background's not black.
I should add - for anyone who wants to use this method, it takes hours and hours - but it's well worth it - the quality's excellent. (I just wish I could get rid of the lines)!

    Excellent!
    > anyway, you used his settings exactly, correct?
    To the letter.

    issue, correct?
    None whatever.
    >what are your video resolutions? what are
you previewing this video on (as in applicartion)?

Blanking is there in the Viewer and Canvas.
    Item Properties - Format - NTSC CCIR 601 720x480
    > also, you can get rid of the vertical blanking by
cropping your video and then rescaling the video to
have the full frame of picture
Yes, I know that but it would be a very last resort - I want the best quality I can get.
    > on a widescreen TV, assuming that the end user is using a
4x3 LB mode, you will still have letterbox pillars,
so it wont matter, as in, they will still have the
black mattes on the vertical lines
Not all TVs have a black background do they?
I just can't understand it . . . both formats are 720 wide - what could be causing this blanking?
    (It's so annoying)!

  • My phone has been turning its self off lately, and when it turned its self back on there was a big black line down the middle. What do I do?

    PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.
If the above does not resolve, take the device to Apple for evaluation.

  • Division line in middle of page?

trying to figure out why there's a thin grey division line on one of my pages.
more specifically, trying to figure out how to make it go away.
although it appears to be part of layout markings, it does show through when exported as PDF.
    any ideas?
    thanks,
    Pages '09 4.3 (1048)

    Fruhulda,
Thanks for looking at the document.
    I think you're right, it's corrupted.
In any case, I pulled up thumbnails view and deleted that page, plus the pages before and after, then copy/pasted prose back in and it's clean now.
One complication is that it's difficult (impossible as far as I can tell) to select only one page using thumbnails. I'm not sure why this is.
Anyway, problem solved. Thanks again for your help.
