Bing search is messing up my email

everytime i pull up a tab bing search appears and i cant check mu aol emails cause it appears

ok i desperately need to keep this thread alive. Exact same printer/os exact same problem. I can also add it seems to have started after a big HP update patch I allowed (foolishly?) to come through. I've used this printer without fail for 3 or 4 months solid. Then after the update i noticed my hour glass would come on and grind every 30 seconds. I finally figured out it was the printer appearing and disappearing over and over again in my directory tree. I finally uninstalled everything, and now I have these artifacts on every other reboot or so. The artifacts arent just visual, they slow down other pages and generally make my system crawl. when i get lucky and get a boot where there are no artifacts, my system runs like the day I bought it. My concern is i uninstalled everything (or so i thought) and even have the printer unplugged ( a very expensive paperweight now) - and I still get the artifacts.
with a gut feeling and about 6 hours of uninstalling apps trial and error and mucking about with my start up settings - i had a suspicion it was the HP - and this thread seems to confirm.

  • Problems reading email in AOLMAIL,Bing search box appears in the email

I can not read my email using aolmail. When I open my email the Bing search box appears and the content section for the mail. I can read the email using Internet Explorer, ATT.Net I only have the problem using firefox,

When combining AND with OR in the SQL where clause, you need to use parenthesis to explicitly say how you want logic to be combined.
In addition, if someone does not make a selection, or chooses 'Select All', then do not include that column in the where clause at all. You do this by dynamically building the where clause;  check the values from the submission and if they are not null, add them to the where clause, otherwise do not add them.

  • Opening aol mail causes popup of bing search page hide content of email

Just to day when I open AOL email on Firefox, the body of the message is covered over. You can actually search for something on Bing from your email but not open the email.
The problem doesn't happen on Internet Explorer,so I guess I will have to use it from now on.

I tried to uninstall bing and it's not listed as a program anywhere, I don't know what to do! Plus I use windows 7... help!

  • I open my email and the Bing search box appears, this does not happen when using Internet Explorer

When using the browser, when I go to aolmail and open my email account and click on my mail to open a message to read. The mail opens and content shows for a quick second and then goes blank. The Bing search box appears in the email content section. If I use internet explorer there is no problem. The email can be read. I am using firefox 3.6.15, home vista.

That problem can be caused by the Yahoo! Toolbar that extents too much downwards and covers the top part of the browser window and thus makes links in that part of the screen not clickable.

  • When I open Yahoo email and try to compose an email, the Bing search tool is in the body of the email field.

In IE I don't have the problem but in Firefox, when I open my yahoo mail and try to compose - that damn Bing search tool is right in the body of the email and I can't type an email. If I do type, my cursor size is the height and color of the Bing type which is large and light colored and you can't read the email. What a pain in the ass. Whoever is responsible for these pr0blems ought to be sent to a war zone. In their underwear.

Where did you get iDVD to put on your Mac?  The downloading themes are no longer available from Apple. If you copied it from a Mac that had all the themes look for the iDVD folder on that Mac which should be in the HD/Library/Applications Support folder or the Users/Home/Library/Applications Support folder.  Copy it to the HD/Library/Applications Support folder for Mt Lion.
If you have to purchase an iLife disc in order to obtain the iDVD application remember that the iLife 11 disc only provides  themes from iDVD 5-7.  The Software Update no longer installs the earlier themes when starting from the iLIfe 11 disk nor do any of the iDVD 7 updaters available from the Apple Downloads website contain them.
Currently the only sure fire way to get all themes is to start with the iLife 09 disc:
This shows the iDVD contents in the iLife 09 disc via Pacifist:
You then can upgrade from iDVD 7.0.3 to iDVD 7.1.2 via the updaters at the Apple Downloads webpage.

They are the same use your email address as your userid so it will know for instance whether it is MSN or HOTMAIL. I think that change was made a few years ago, yes when I went to Verizon DSL and then Verizon FiOs (Fiber).

  • AOL email, click on email to open, email text replaced by Bing Search box

I use Mozilla Firefox to open my AOL homepage...then when I click on AOL Mail email, the single email loads, appears on the screen for about 2 seconds, then the text of the email disappears and is replaced by a Bing Search box...I can actually type inside the search box, but of course I have not done that for fear of infecting my computer further...had a computer tech at my home to try to repair, but unsuccessful...on phone for 2 hrs each with both AOL and Microsoft, no luck...if I access the AOL page via Internet Explorer, the error does not occur...using Windows Vista.

Sorry that is the T-Mobile setup process for AOL, after investigating I realized that AOL and Verizons network dont play well the way I got it to work was either setup Google to retrieve AOL account or use the app from AOL located here.. http://mobile.aol.com/product/android/aol/
Also here is the setup processes for all AOL supported apps, it doesnt show Android but maybe you can play with some of the settings and get it to work through the app.... http://about.aol.com/faq/openmailaccess
UPDATE: Did some more reasearch and found this information at DroidForums by Drakkarr that may work...
How to set up my Droid email to send/receive Netscape, AOL or AIM emails?
Setting up access to the AOL or AIM Mail servers is simple, and the settings are similar for most email applications.
The basic information that you need to keep in mind to set up your email application using IMAP and POP3 is as follows:
Your email address is [email protected] or [email protected]
Be sure to include the @aol.com or @aim.com suffix.
The incoming mail (POP) server address is imap.aol.com and imap.aim.com for IMAP, and pop.aol.com or pop.aim.com for POP3.
Select the check box for leaving messages on the server.
The outgoing mail (SMTP) server address is smtp.aol.com or smtp.aim.com, port: 587.
Your user name is your AOL or AIM screen name.
Your password is your AOL or AIM password.

  • How do I get rid of BING? It blocks my mail in AOL so that I cannot read mail. IE works and so does AOL..I want BING Search off my computer - did not ask for it do not want it!!

I've answered all this crap before!! I just want BING to quit blocking my emails with a search page! Hate to dump FF for IE but am strongly considering it!

The Bing search engine has been added to the installed search engines in Firefox beta versions.<br />
You can click the search engine icon in the search bar and select Google or another search engine.<br />
If you do not see Google then open Manage Search Engines and click the "Restore Defaults" button.
If you mean the location bar then check the pref <b>keyword.URL</b> on the about:config page.

  • Getting the "Internet Search" box when opening an email in AOL. The AOL email blinks and then I get the "Internet Search".

Problem with reading AOL emails. When I try to read an AOL email (old or new) the AOL email appears for a split second and then I get an "Internet Search" box and cannot see the email.
I had read that some have seen a similar problem getting a Bing Search box and they were able to delete that add on to correct it, but I have no add ons at all.

  • When i type into the search bar on safari, it comes up with a yahoo or bing search instead of google like it normally would do

I've had my macbook pro for about 2 years and any time i would type into the search bar of safari it would always come up with a google search. recently it is coming up with a yahoo or bing search and not google. my settings for safari have it set to google as the default search engine so I'm not sure why this is happening. Can anyone help me fix this?

When you go to search something in your search bar , and you click in the search bar at the top , a drop down menu should appear when it gives you suggestions on smart search right ? , well within those list of suggestions in the search bar their should be a little magnifying glass icon in the corner , click on that and another drop down box will appear, then you can choose your search engine preference e.g. bing , google , yahoo etc. click on your preference and it will use that search engine when you search in your search bar. Hope this helped.

  • Spotlight & Mail Search Not Working After Deleting email Account's '.OfflineCache' File.  How Do I Get Back to Normal?

    Running OSX 10.7.4 and Mail.5.2.
One of 3 email accounts was constantly trying, but unable to synch.  The rotating splines were turning non-stop but not synching (other two email accounts worked just fine.)  After doing some searching on the internet, I found several articles about this.  Many included the symptom of the "Recovered Messages" constantly being recovered/generated.  I had noticed that I would get some recovered messages on occaision, but had never noticed it to be problematic.  These articles suggested that the ".OfflineCache" file for that email account had been corrupted or the root of my problem.  So, I deleted the .OfflineCach file as per this article...
Fix OSX Mail Creating Multiple 'Recovered Message
Well that got my mail working again.  However, I soon noticed that spotlight no longer works and when I try to search mail, it doesn't work.  It will only return a complete email address/contact; it doesn't search the contents of the email.
I tried to get spotlight to re-index the hard drive.  However, when I try to drag a folder or volume to it, I get the error:
Since spotlight and mail search have always worked flawlessly for 5 years, I'm confident this is related to having deleted " .OffflineCache" for that particular email account.  However, it seems strange that mail search won't work for the other email accounts.
Any other tips for getting spotlight back online?
How about the .OfflineCache file.  Will Mail restore it, replace it on it's own?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Also, looking back, not long before this problem started, I was trying to send a single email with numerous pictures ( around 50 or so.)  I forgot to select "medium" for the picture size and it started trying to upload them at full size.  I realized this after a minute or two and cancelled the upload, changed to 'medium' and sent the email with no problem.  I point this out because the "Multiple Recovered Messages" error seems to be related to or being induced by having an excessively large file in the particular mail account's .Offline.Cache file.

Well, a couple days later and it seems that the .offlinecache has been rebuilt.  Finder, Spotlight, & Mail search all seem to be working normally now!

  • I just installed Firefox 5. How can I remove the Bing search from the address bar? I don't want to see Bing at all.

I just installed Firefox 5. How can I remove the Bing search from the address bar. I don't want to see Bing at all. I tired the Firefox options, right-clicking on the search field and the toolbar selection drop-down but could not find a way to get rid of that unwanted search window.

*'''at the bottom of firefox''' there is a weird looking greenish circle with a lightning bolt in it*
    1. click it and hover over to '''PREFERENCES'''.
    2. click the second circle that say's '''BING.'''
    3. '''Un-check''' both boxes.
    4. you're done :)
Note: it's not going to show the google symbol encrypt when you open a new tab it's just going to automatically use google as a search engine.

  • Bing Search syntax - specify a single site in Default text?

I know that when doing a search using the web browser that I can use
site:wherever.com as part of the search string.
Is it possible to do this using Bing Search inside Project Siena ? If yes, some sample syntax for text, image, composite search would be much appreciated.

    Thanks.
What I'm trying to do is set a default String in the input box and at the very
    end change the visibility.
So, I'm not allowing user input.
So hypothetically I want to search (I wouldn't do this for real, this is just an
example) for images of Barack Obama at whitehouse.gov
So my input text1 field would have Barack O'Bama and I would change the default
from "Input" to "Barack O'Bama" and make it invisible.
without limiting the site scope I'd have
    BingSearch!Image(InputText1Text)!results
For my use case I just would add
    BingSearch!Image(InputText1Text& " site:whitehouse.gov")!results
with a space between & and "site....              Correct?
    (I'll go play around...)
