BIOS fix for Color killed my Yoga 2

I found the solution on the discussion board to fix the color issue on the Lenovo Yoga 2.
I clicked to install the BIOS update, and it went to the screen where I showed it installing.
After that it went to a blank screen showing some brightness, and the keyboard light was on.
The instructions had said to not unplug the laptop. So I left it overnight to see what would happen, and this morning it looked exactly the same.
I tried the power button, and it doesn't change anything.
It won't turn on, or off, or even show the white light for power.
HELP.... What can I do to fix my brand new Lenovo Yoga 2 ??????

how long did you keep the power button depressed? Please hold it pressed for at least 5 seconds; the system should shut down as described in the following knowledgebase article;

Fix for "color shift" bug

I have discovered the fix for the iPhoto color shift bug (at least with OS X 10.3.9). For those who tried the solution of renaming the Generic RGB Profile, this idea was heading down the right track, but ultimately is not the answer (nor did it even work for me).
When you import photos into iPhoto 5, it does not assign a color profile to the pictures. Then when you edit one using the internal editor and go to save it, iPhoto sees there is no embedded color profile and thus it automatically embeds the Generic RGB Profile, and if that is not the color profile you are using for your screen (and it most likely is not), you will then notice that the colors of your original image have been altered.
Before I tell you the simple solution to this, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you create a custom color profile for your Mac. You can use the included OS X one under System Preferences | Displays | Color | Calibrate, but I personally find this one difficult to use and it doesnt offer very good end results for me. The color profile creation program that works the best for me is SuperCal. This program is a little gem and after you use it, it will seem like someone gave you a brand new display. The program is free to download, but after seeing how well it works, I hope some of you will pay the $19 registration fee. On a side note, when creating your color profile, I suggest you use a gamma setting of 2.2 (not the default Mac setting of 1.8). This will make your screen match most scanners, digital cameras, printers, web images, photo labs, etc. (which are all based on sRGB which has a gamma setting of 2.2).

Okay, now youve created your calibrated color profile (lets call it SuperCal) so pictures will now be accurate on your screen. So now heres the fix for the color shift bug its really so simple. Go into Applications | Utilities | ColorSync Utility. Under the Preferences icon, change the RGB Default from Generic RGB Profile to your new SuperCal one. Voila! Thats all there is to it. Now when iPhoto saves an edited picture, it will embed your custom color profile. So what was once a hated annoyance now actually becomes a feature so that all of your saved pictures will perfectly match your screen.
Since the Mac is supposed to be the easiest to use computer around, Apple should fix this so that when you change the color profile for your display, OS X also changes it for file embedding, but as it stands it 10.3.9, you must change this in both places manually.

I appreciate the tip to use gamma 2.2. I'd been wondering about that.
However, as others have mentioned, tagging your photos with a monitor profile is not the way to go.
The othe thing is that under Tiger, ColorSync Utility does not have a preferences section. It only has a devices section.
It is as if iPhoto doesn't know about any profile attached to any picture, whether it's from a camera, scanner, or PhotoShop, and there seems to be no way to tell it which profile to use.
And even after replacing the Generic RGB profile with the same one the images are tagged (by renaming the other profile Generic RGB), iPhoto still displays the images with more saturation and somewhat darker.
This is on an Apple Studio 17" CRT very carefully calibrated with SuperCal.
So I have to come to the conclusion that others have in other threads -- if you're concerned about good color accuracy, don't edit the color balance of your images in iPhoto. Leave that to PhotoShop.

Looking For A Bios Fix

I upgraded my system from a K7T266 to the K7N2 Delta-ILSR.
I was running into the D-LED "Initializing Floppy Controller" where it would go no further.
I tried 3 power supplies (including antec true 550) , and swapped RAM from one of 7 other K7N2-L that we are setting up as BSD boxen. Still no love.
After reading the posts, I noticed that others who had WD Caviar drives had the same issue. I tried all the jumper settings. No dice.
I can boot up fine sans the drive and I can put in an old maxtor that had Red Hat 7.2 and it boots right up.
Anyone know the deal with WD Caviar drives and if there is a bios fix for it?

If the WD is a single drive, master, remove all jumpers and place at end of cable. Do a fresh install of your OS.

Multiplier fix for K8N-Plat.

Hello all.
Is there a BIOS fix for the multiplier problem on the K8N ? Everytime i select a different MP than the original 11 he reboots and works. But once i restart a second time the computer hangs and i need to clear the CMOS. It is definetly not CPU or RAM related. What BIOS should i use for the K8N ?

Actually you can change the multiplier . You can decrease it all day long . You just can't increase it above the lock .
I didn't know that about the Insert key.... Wow, that sure beats popping the hood and foolin with the jumper . But I wonder, does it really work if you're system's not even posting? Can anyone confirm this? I'm not talking about a dead BIOS that has to be RMA'd. What I'm talking about is let's say computer won't start but you can get it back by reseting the jumper. In that situation, would this insert key thing work instead?

*Solved* MSI P43 Neo-F DPC Latency Issue - Latest BIOS Fix

Hi, I'd like to avail of the latest BIOS fix for the DPC latency problem on my MSI P43 Neo-F (MS-7519) 1.0.
I'm currently using BIOS 1.9, I haven't flashed to 1.A yet. Does 1.A include a fix or is there another BIOS that's as up-to-date as 1.9 or 1.A that would have the fix, with any links to download? I'm thinking along the lines of the A7519ICI.1xx series, whatever is the latest.

OK, so here's the story. I couldn't relax with those voltages showing up as they were, so I flashed my BIOS to A7519IMS.1A0 (1.A), which is the latest public release for the P43 Neo-F. I was previously on A7519IMS.190 (1.9) before today.
When I flashed to A7519ICI.104, I noticed the version number was actually 1.10B4 (which I'm guessing can actually be expressed as 1.AB4 - a beta version for the latest public release, 1.A). The flash to A7519ICI.104 solved the DPC Latency issue, as when I used A7519IMS.190 (1.9) it was spiking.
There is a happy ending. The flash to A7519IMS.1A0 (1.A) has also shown no spikes in the DPC Latency test. It seems the fix must be present in the latest public release BIOS for the P43 Neo-F after-all!

Perhaps let's first try updating your Apple Software Update.
Launch Apple Software Update ("Start > All Programs > Apple Software Update"). Does it launch and offer you a newer version of Apple Software Update? If so, choose to install just that update to Apple Software Update. (Deselect any other software offered at the same time.)
If the ASU update goes through okay, try another iTunes install. Does it go through without the errors this time?

Fixing legend color for charts

Is it possible to fix legend color in charts ? For e.g. I want
lengend A to have "COLOR1"
legend B to have "color2" etc
It looks like CR chooses color in random order. I need to fix the color displayed for consistency. Please help me.

In BIOS press F9 for default values (get 128 MB for graphics instead of 64 MB)
and set @ config page values SATA to [AHCI] & the BEEP [disabled] & Quickstart to your values [diabled or enabled]
& @ BOOT page via Fn - F7 key (set Numlock on & so plus (+ -) minus will work ! ! without extra USB - Keyboard
set DVD/CD @ 1.th position USB Device @ 2.nd position and HDD @ third position ...
and save with F10 and exit ...

Why do not Apple send a fix for all fail´s / slow mac`s afther upgrade to Yosemite

I have upgrade 2 of my Macbook air 11" models. Both have major slow functionality in allmost every programs. slow mail, safari, pages. Allmost nothing of the funksjonalitys can being uses in numbers. Slow functionality when jumping between programs. Allover i have BIG problems with mac for my first time. And why do not Apple send a fix for all fails there is after upgrading to Yosemite. When thousand of users have the same problem with major slow mac`s.

Screen color changing random - yoga 3 pro

hi guys
had a problem for a few days now, sometimes, out of nothing, the screen color turns yellowish....like a warm color....i right click in the home screen, personalize, display, calibrate color, the template for color calibration appears, i enter next...and voilá, it comes back to the cold white color....it just happened as i turn from tent mode to laptop mode to wright this thread
do you guys know any other way of disabeling this change? its getting on my nervs!

The Yoga 3 Pro has a "paper display" setting.It's meant to help you read stuff (reducing eye strain) giving the display a yellowish,book page like tint.
You can turn it on or off by pressing "Fn"+"Esc".

Is there a fix for modal dialogs open behind palettes in
Photoshop cs6 13.0 (createive cloud update) + OSX 10.6.8 Snow Leopard on MacBook Pro?
( I am using 2 monitors where the second monitor is set to be the menu display. cs4 does not exhibit this bug. )
Toggling the Application Frame off improves the hiding 'feature' but this does not include the desired continuous floating in front of palettes in all circumstances.
An example is Blending Options, then chose Stroke, then chose the Color Picker. After clicking OK, the Blending Options dialog now sits behind the palettes. One trick is to click on another app, then back to cs6 to force a window redraw.
It sure would help me if this could be solved. I am preparing educational videos and this display bug makes things very troublesome.

The setting for the graphics check box Does Not make a difference. If I have a new document window open, then add a layer, then open the blending options > drop shadow > edit the color > the chooser dialog opens, and immediately both dialog windows drop behind the palettes AND any document windows.
The same behavior for the Preferences dialog > guides > color.
The quick workaround is to click another app, then back to CS6. A real pain, of course.
It is only a factor when opening a second (child) dialog box.
Other CS6 apps do work correctly (eg. FW AE)
I have yet to get a handle on this. Mac OSX 10.6.8 CS6 13.0 x64

Itunes artwork display issue and a fix for 'unknown error occured (-50)'

This is a thorough fix for art work and the -50 error.
If you see artwork in itunes, first verify that the artwork is in the mp3 tag using a program like "tag and rename" http://www.softdepia.com/tagrename_download1291.html
If the artwork shows up in tag and rename, then you added it correctly.
If the artwork isn't displaying on ipod, delete the song and retransfer to the ipod. Next make sure the "view artwork" check box is checked. To do this connect your iPod to iTunes and there will be a checkbox that should be checked to see if you want artwork to show up on your iPod.
If you get this message -
The ipod cannot be updated. An unknown error occured (-50).
And have no artwork at all in you IPOD , dont fret. I am getting there..
NO you DO NOT NEED to FORMAT YOUR IPOD YET as commonly posted. I have tested and retested the following fix-
Eject IPOD. Kill ITUNES.
Backup the following files
iTunes Library.itl
iTunes Music Library.xml
& anything in the Previous Itunes library folder

Dont worry, its much easier to recreate the database than to wipe your IPOD.
Next Start up ITUNES. Plug in IPOD. You now should have a empty database.
At this time, uncheck copy ARTWORK to IPOD, and when it's done deleting artwork, CHECK Copy ARTWORK to IPOD.
It now should sucessfully display ARTWORK and not get the -50 error!!
Now, goto you ITUNES Music folder and drag to the library and it will add you music back in, including your PODCASTS.
All you need to do is click the RESUBSCRIBE button and you are back in business!

But you probably wont need it if you follow all these steps.

Just as an fyi, to shorten this procedure instead of deleting the files i found out you and open the .itl files and delete all the lines in it so its an empty file.
Then open itunes, and it will rebuild the database with the files from the .xml file.
This saves you from having to rescan the songs..
