Black line sketch renderings printing with teal or magenta

Aloha,
When I print architectural drawings with my DesignJet 110 I sometime place computer generated sketch renderings in with the architectural plans which are vector line drawings.  The architectural line drawings and the sketch renders are computer generated made with ArchiCAD.  The HP 110 DesignJet prints the rendering and only the rendering with teal or magenta or a fade of both even though the rendering is black lines. The architectural line drawings on the same page print beautifully in black.  There is nothing on the page that is using any color lines.
When I set the printer to "Only Use Black Ink" the renders come out in black but the quality of the rendering's lines is poorer than when it prints using the teal/magenta.
I would like to get the printer to print high quality renderings with just black ink.
What is causing the problem?
How can I fix the problem?
Mahalo,
John

  • Undefined black line vertically on printed page

A narrow undefined line appears about two inches from the left edge of a page (and not totally consistent in how dark it is.  Very faint if no print on the page.   The more text the more noticable it appears.
Additionally -- if there is heavy toner in that area it appears to remove the toner leaving a white but dirty narrow line.   But if it's just regular printed text it does *not* score thru a letter, it just appears as this dirty line in the background.
It's not the cartridge.     Can't see anything inside the printer that looks likely.

Hello sam_k, welcome to the forums
I understand you are noticing a black line. Please let me know some more information and I will certainly look into this for you!

    3. Do you noticed the black line when you print, scan, copy, or fax?
    4. How is your printer connected to your PC? Ethernet, wireless or USB?
In the meantime, try Resetting the Printer and plug the printer in directly to the wall outlet, avoiding power bars and surge protectors. This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.

  • Problem with "small black line in right margin" with Folio Builder / Adobe Viewer in Ipad. Id CC.

    Hi there,
When I create a Folio Builder and I check my Id project in the Adobe Viewer (It happens in the Ipad App and in the Desktop Viewer), I can see a black line in the right margin (maybe 4 px). And I can't adjust my background (It's an object with a colour) to use the "full resolution available for the app in the ipad", and yes, I'm using rules and I can see that my background object it's 1024 x 768. I have tryed several projects and upgraded the project to the "30 version".
But I'm a new user with ID/DPS. So, is this a reported bug? Or I'm doing sth wrong?
And for me, the most important question, will this problem be solved when I send my project to the applestore and DPS transform my Folio to the Store? Or what I see now it's what I will see?
    Thanks!

Sorry! I have found an answer here in the discussion:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/5835960#5835960
So, the problem will be solved in the final app, and it's just the scroll in the Viewer.
    Thanks!

  • I get fine black lines on my prints when i print my photos how do i get ride of them?

I get fine, black, grid lines on my photos when i print, how do i remove the black lines?

First run a print quality test. If that passes perfectly install the latest driver for the printer, even if you already have the latest driver installed.
If the print test results are not perfect run nozzle cleaning routines until results are perfect.
Sometimes an ink cartridge will fail, but before replacing an expensive cartridge run nozzle cleaning and print testing a dozen times.

  • The Best HP Black and White Laser Printer with e-print

Please could someone let me know the best HP Laser printer (Black cartridge only) to use in an office environment that has the e-print facility. It will be used frequently and will be printing multiple page PDF attachments from e-mails. Anyones guidance as to which e-print machine to buy will be most appreciated. Many thanks Simon

The only Black and White Laser Printer that supports e-print is the HP LaserJet Pro M1536 Series Multifunction Printer.  Here is a link to the support site:  http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?product=3974279&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&cc=us
Other color LaserJet products that support e-print are the HP LaserJet Pro CM1415 Series and the CP1525 Series.

  • Black & White PDF's print with reddish hue

I have been using Adobe products forever and just had to upgrade to this Creative Suite. Something is different with the Acrobat Pro settings after I convert an InDesign file to PDF.
A lot of our ads are black and white with just our logo in color. It used to be that I could print using AUTO print and the black and white was truly black and white and the logo showed in color perfectly.
Now, the black and white has a reddish hue to it when printed no matter what I do. (It looks fine on screen).
My co-worker who also upgraded to the Creative Suite is having the exact same issue.
We both have PC's. I think it may be ICC Profile related but don't know enough about that to know what to change.
    Thanks

I've moved your question to the Creating, Editing and Exporting PDFs forum.

  • Black and white photo prints with purple cast

I used Photoshop to convert the digital photos to black and white before placing them in Indesign CS3. On the monitor the photo looks great, but when I print the newsletter, each photo has a purple tint. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

    Polly,
your black and white photos are probably 'Grayscales'.
The print has a tint because it is printed by rich black
CMYK instead of K-only, and the printer is not perfectly
calibrated or not calibrated at all.
a)It is a PostScript printer and it was chosen
    Output=CompositeRGB instead of CompositeCMYK or
CompositeGray (CompositeCMYK is necessary if the
doc contains Grayscales and color images).
Composite### doesn't mean the source but the printer.
PostScript toner printers and inkjets are CMYK devices.
Desktop printers are often considered as RGB devices.
b)The Grayscale was converted back to RGB (still gray though).
c)The Grayscale was converted to CMYK, which delivers in
Photoshop by default rich black CMYK.

  • I have a photosmart plus b210 e print and when I print with a black back ground I get lines

I have a photosmart plus b210 e print and when I print  with a black back ground I get lines.  What can I do to eliminate the
    lines in the photo
    Thank You

    Hey appollus,
Do you get these lines only when printing with ePrint? If not, it sounds like a printhead issue. Here are the steps to fix the issue.
    1. Go to the setup menu on the printers front screen.
    2. Go to tools.
    3. Go to clean printhead
You may need to do this a few times to completely remove the lines in the print.

If I have resolved your issue, feel free to provide Kudos and make sure you mark this thread as solution provided.

  • I have a HP Officejet Pro 8500A with black line problems

My HP Officejet Pro 8500A has a problem when documents are placed on the automatic feed.  The printed document comes out with a black line down the middle of the new printed document.  Today it has started putting black lines down my printed pictures that come from my computer.  The computer is less than one month old.  HELP!!!

This model has separate ink supplies and printheads.  Ink is required in all the colors to keep the printheads and plumbing from clogging.  See this page for information on how ink is used.

  • Printing from InDesign - black lines

    Good afternoon all,
I've started using InDesign CS6 at work to produce advertising catalogues. I've hit a bit of a wall when I print it and would like a bit of help to try and solve my issue(s).
I have a booklet set up to print 4 pages of A4 on to double-sided A3. I printed my latest proof from InDesign this morning (just to A4)and it looked OK. I then tested it using the glossy paper we have just got today and this is when I noticed some thin black lines on the A3 print.
To help give an idea of what I'm working with, it is a catalogue/brochure with 6 or 7 product images per page, each with a price point graphic (a circle with the price in a text frame within). The price point overlaps the product image by varying degrees.
I've just checked again and the thin black lines are all on the left-hand edge of objects - both product images and price point images. I acquired the images from the DLibrary and the price point graphics came from a previous designer.
The black lines do not appear on every product image, neither do they appear on every price point. They are not all the same size (height) as the frame that they are on, if that makes sense. For instance, I have an image of a pack of coffee, and the black line starts at the top of the left-hand side and finishes about halfway down. The price point for the coffee has a black line all the way down the left-hand edge.
I have printed the catalogue to A4, it was 100% fine. I print to A3 and these lines appear. I know I could export to pdf and print from there, but that then leaves the centre spread with a white stripe down the middle and I don't have the tools or the knowledge to get rid of the borders that appear in Adobe Reader.
I've looked in the settings and can't find anything that looks like it will help. Any advice gratefully received.

Thanks for the tip Mikey - however the same thing happens with the thin black lines when I print on 'normal' A3 paper too. On normal A4 paper it's fine, no lines, but when I print to A3 I get the lines - on both kinds of paper.
I've attached a couple of (awful-looking) scans to help illustrate my point.

  • Black Line Printed Down Side of Paper...

I've been noticing for a while that my Epson 3880 "keeps printing" after the image has been printed.  And I just figured out why.  I loaded some paper that is a little wider than 11x14 (12x14) but I print on it as if it's 11x14.  I printed an image (only 8x10 on the page) and now that a wider paper is in the tray I see that a black line is being printed down the side of the page.  It's a line that is actually being printed down the entire sheet.  When the paper isn't wider than what I've specified the print head just goes past the paper and "thinks" it's printing on the paper.
I've looked through all the print settings and can't find anything that would cause this (i.e. it's not a crop mark or a guide).  Why is this happening?
The printer is an Epson 3880 with current drivers and I'm using the current version of Photoshop CS5.

Anything?  It's only happening in Photoshop, other apps print fine.

  • Printer problem - black lines

I have purchased Photoshop Elements 6.0 for Mac
I am printing photos on a epson artisan 700 using Photoshop Elements 6.0. I am getting black vertical lines separated by 1 inch across the photo. If I switch from portrait to landscape the photo rotates but not the lines. Cleaning the nozzles made the lines more pronounced. I do not get the lines when I print directly from the printer via the scanner. I also do not get lines when I print with Iphoto (came with my computer) or Canon Imagebrowser (came with camera) or printing documents from Word or Excel. Is Phototshop the problem? I am using Epson ink and paper. I also get the problem with GIMP. Epson tells me they do not support GIMP and that IPhoto uses Epson software.
I had the same problem with Elements 4.0.
Others have had this issue but never posted a solution on a forum. Thoughts?
Operating System: Mac OS X (v10.5.7) on a MacMini 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    Printer model / driver version: artisan 700 / 6.36
    Scanner / driver version: artisan 700 / 3.45A

I do not have the answer but I do have the same issue with PSE 6.  I have a Canon i9100 and have changed out the print head twice because it will not print in color from PSE 6.
The information I really want to share is we changed the paper type and it will now print in color but we have lines just like you stated evenly spaced across the photo.  After much though we determined the lines might be caused by the way the printer roller pulled the paper through.  We had photo paper in and we had to lie to the printer and tell it we were using plain paper to get it to print in color.
Fortunately, I have several printers, but the Canon does large format and great color.  Check your paper type settings on the printer and software on the wild chance maybe that could help.  I will post more if we can ever figure out how to fix it.  D

  • Officejet Pro 8500A is not printing with Yellow cartridge. Full cartridge and good health ...

I have an OfficeJet Pro 8500 which is not printing with the Yellow cartridge.  Printing with the Cyan, Magenta, and Black cartridges is fine.  Diagnostics show all cartridges properly installed and having adequate ink supplies.I replaced the Yellow cartridge with a brand new XL cart, but to no avail.  I cleaned the orifice with Isopropyl alcohol and a cotton swab, thinking perhaps there was some dried ink or an impurity there.  The problem still exists. There are no error messages, either via software or at the printer itself.  The printer is out of warranty (imagine that!).I have used HP products for well over 15 years, partly because HP support has been historically excellent.  After reading some of the posts on these forums, it seems that HP has allowed their support quality to diminish - significantly.  I hope that is not the case in real life.Any ideas out there?

I am having same problem. OfficeJet Pro 8500A Premium.  Not printing with Yellow. First replaced Yellow cartridge with new, then spoke with HP Support yesterday and was told that the Black and Yellow Printhead must need to be replaced, at a cost of $49.  New Printhead arrived today, inserted and still having same issue with YELLOW! So, for the cost of a new Multi-Pack of print cartridges (which had the Yellow I used to replace the low ink), and the new Printhead, I could have purchased a NEW CANNON PRINTER.  I have used HP Products for over 20 years - both professionally (HP Plotters) and at home (always HP Printers, Scanners, Multi-devices, etc.  I am VERY frustrated!

What is the resolution of the picture that you are trying to print?
Go to Image>resize>image size, read the resolution in px/in, then report back, please.
Also, are you in a position to try printing with another printer in an attempt to narrow this down?
