Black screen with white texts before Windows start in Boot Camp

I just bought my Macbook 13" and installed Windows Vista in Boot Camp. Everything went fine, Windows run seamlessly with the native speed that's said. My only problem is when I start Windows, it goes through a black screen first with a lot of white texts. One is the message "Unrecognized partition table drive 80. Please rebuild using Microsoft Fdisk Tool." Among others, this message repeats a number of times before Windows start. I don't have any problem after that, except that it delay the start up. I have tried to change a lot of settings that is associated with start up, so far nothing work. Can somebody out there help.

Highlight the phrase and add "Mac" to it, and do a look-up in Google.
"Unrecognized partition table drive 80. Please rebuild using Microsoft Fdisk Tool."
That error is listed on other threads and Microsoft, just easier to find and link thru Google than Apple forum search.
Hopefully that will help. But I would boot from Vista DVD and go through the automatic system repair too.

  • Black Screen with white text at startup (??)

    Hello All:
I have a 2010 15" MacBook Pro, just got it in June. Had to send it in for a logic board replacement and now have it back. Everything works great except now instead of having the standard Apple greyish startup screen, I have a black screen with white text that scrolls through all of the startup stuff. I figure they changed some line on a plist somewhere so they could watch the startup and make sure everything was OK, then forgot to change it back.
Although I know it is good to know what's going on under the hood, I would rather it started up the regular way. Anyone know how to switch it back? I would call Apple, but would rather not sit on the phone for a long time for what I believe is probably a very simple fix. I did a search but couldn't find my problem listed....
    Thanks everyone...

    Kappy:
Thanks for the reply. I looked at the plist, but the -v was not there. Here is a copy of the plist:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
    <plist version="1.0">
    <dict>
    <key>Kernel Flags</key>
    <string></string>
    </dict>
    </plist>
At least I know what it is called now - a "verbose startup".
Again, thanks for the help. Learn something new every day.

  • Macbook Pro boot shows black screen with white text cursor

    Hello,
I have a MacBook Pro 7,1 MC374xx/A running Mavericks.  My box has two internal hard drives in it.  One had the Mac OS installed to it, and the other has absolutely nothing on it.  I decided to give Boot Camp Assistant a try and chose the hard drive with nothing on it to install Windows on.  I also had an external USB DVD drive attached with the Windows 7 installation disc on it.
So, next thing ya know, my Mac reboots and loads a black screen that says "Memory Overload." I take out the external USB drive and restart.  Then it said, "No boot devices found."  Now for whatever reason, it's just a black screen with a white text cursor.
    What the heck happened?
I selected command R and confirmed that I installed Boot Camp on the right hard drive (the drive that did not contain my Mac OS).  Then, I completely erased everything from the drive with Boot Camp on it.  But still..black screen with white text cursor.
I have no Time Machine backups available so I'm forced to reinstall the OS.  Any idea why this happened?  It seems I must have attempted to install Boot Camp improperly.  Any ideas or instructions on what to do now or how to install Boot Camp successfully on the Macbook Pro I own?
    Earnestly,
    Speck

Boot Camp- Windows installation boots to black screen with blinking cursor.

  • Black screen with white text on boot

Hi, When I boot my mac I see the apple logo for a few seconds. after that I see a black screen with white text then the computer starts up. What is this and how do I fix it?
    Any help appreciated

    Hi
This is "verbose mode", which is a boot-up mode used mostly for troubleshooting the boot process. Sometimes your system can get into that mode accidentally. Try this: boot up holding down cmd-opt-O-F (to get into Open Firmware). Type:
    reset-nvram
    reset-all
Your computer should restart; reboot it once more to see if you are now booting normally.

  • When I boot up my iMac I get a black screen with white text?

Hey guys wondering if anyone can help me. I installed mountain lion on my iMac the other day (2.8ghz Intel Core 2 Duo, 24inch) and now when I turn it on I get this screen come up? Any one no of a way to fix it? It comes up black all this white text appears and at the end it says..
"If you wish to boot the system:
    exit
    :/ root #
You type exit and some more stuff comes up then the mac boots up, normal apple loading screen and your in?? I tried reinstalling mountain lion again and I had no luck. Still doing it? Its strange cause ML is running fine on my macbook air. If anyone has any suggestions I would be so grateful. Tell me this isnt the end of her?
Its not something silly like the keyboard and mouse aren't connecting? I leave them on all the time.
Heres a snap of the screen
    Thanks everyone

I did reset the PRAM, but don't think that worked.  I did find this on a blog on the web.  It worked for me
When I first read this post I did not realize that the Mac boots properly if you type "exit". It seems like perhaps your mac thinks you want to boot in "verbose" mode. Try this before doing a reinstall.
    http://www.ernieflores.net/osx-page-3/always-boot-mac-os-x-in-verbose-mode/
I got this info from here
    http://www.mac-forums.com/forums/os-x-operating-system/280859-black-screen-white -text-startup.html
note: after it starts with the white text and black screen just type exit then hit return key and the computer will startup.  open the terminal after that and follow the ernie flores blog tip.

  • Is there a way to set the iPhone to have a black screen with white text?

I found the "Invert Colors" option under Settings > General > Accessibility, and like it a lot. It provides enhanced readability.
The problem is that it inverts all colors, even for apps. So when I view a web page in Safari, all the colors are inverted for the images.
And when I view my photos in Photos, these are also inverted as well.
Is there a way to set up the iPhone to default to a black screen and white letters for the OS, but allow the apps and photos, etc. to
be viewed in their regular colors. For example, can I run Photos to view my photos on a black background but view the photos in their
    normal coloring?

I'm afraid that is not possible, maybe this could bee a step in that direction if you use the mentioned Zoom function:
    Invert Colors and Grayscale
Sometimes, inverting the colors or changing to grayscale on the iPhone screen makes it easier to read.
Invert the screen colors. Go to Settings > General > Accessibility, then turn on Invert Colors.
See the screen in grayscale. Go to Settings > General > Accessibility, then turn on Grayscale.
Turn on both effects to see inverted grayscale. You can also apply these effects to just the contents of the zoom window—see Zoom on page 150.

I installed Mountain Lion in my IMac and now, some times, when I start up my mac it looks with a black screen and white text. I'm really worry about it, can somebody help me?

Don't worry, this is probably just Verbose Mode. It's perfectly harmless.  If you're not specifically invoking it, than it's probably down to an unwanted setting in NVRAM.  See this article on resetting NVRAM if it continues to bother you.

  • Black screen with white writing on boot - then nothing...

    Ok, this is a long story, but here's the abridged version;
I have a mac mini - the old PPC version. It has just come back from being repaired - replacement logic board. However, repaired it is not. Every time i try to start it up, I get a brief white screen with grey apple logo as normal, and then a black screen with white writing on. The writing is exactly the same text as you can see in the console system log. It gets about a page-full through this, and then goes completely black. No video at all.
However, the machine is still working in there - I know this because I'm typing on it now via VNC. It is perfectly happy and all. It just does this weirdness start up and then no video.
    My question is twofold:
    1. The company that repaired it claims that it booted fine before they gave it back to me; however, it hasn't since I've had it back. Could the boot behaviour be some kind of diagnostic thing they left on my machine, or a mode they left it in. If so, how do I get rid of it?
    2. Failing this, does it sound like my vidoe card packed up maybe?
    Thoughts, solutions, etc., most welcome!

    Have you
tried to simply do a clean install of Mac OS X and
your other software? I normally find that this fixes
90%+ of all unexplained software related issues.
I could, but (a) I'm not convinced it's not related to the replacement logic board and thus a hardware issue, and (b) I can't see to do a clean install because it has no video signal

  • After installing Yosemite my fax is sending black pages with white text

I used to send faxes with my Panasonic KX-MB2020 using Prewiew program. With Mavericks faxes were good. After installing Yosemite, my recepients started to tell that they get "negatives" - black pages with white text. Fax machine is ok - if I print a documet and then send it to the same recepient without my notebook, it goes well.
    Please check this bug.

Furthermore, before now, my Panasonic easily scanned documents directly, with pressing "Scan" button on the machine. Now this operation is impossible - I have to launch Printer properties on my Mac, and from this window I have to start scanning.

  • I don't know what's wrong with my 3GS. It only shows the black screen with white apple. Turning it on then off doesn't help.

I don't know what's wrong with my 3GS. It only shows the black screen with white apple. Home button and turning the phone off then on doesn't seem to do anything.

    Thanks Lucas,
I've tried doing that with no results. Same screen keeps showing. Maybe it'd be more helpful if I told you a bit more info.  My phone was randomly playing music, and the voice control would also suddenly start without me touching the phone.  Then I let the battery die and started to recharge when on the screen it indicated to plug into my computer/iTunes, I tried to restore but was getting an error message (can't remember what it said now). Battery died and now my current issue of the black screen with white apple.  I'd love to be able to restore my phone but now its not showing as a device on my iTunes. HELP! Any other suggestions?

  • Black screen with white apple logo won't go away! Help please.

Last night I turned theipod completeley off and restarted it. The black screen with the white apple logo came on and hasn't went of since.
I've tried everything I could find in the forums and on the support page.
iTunes will not recognize my ipod which has continously tried to start up again every 5 minutes.
I don't know what more to do, ANY help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Dana

I did try that. When I do that the red slider bar to turn the ipod off doesn't come up.
Its still trying to reset itself but won't go any farther than the black screen with white apple.
    Thanks

Hi there did you end up getting this resolved?  I have the same exact same issue with my Ipad 4 when updating to 8.1.3....frozen on the apple logo.  Tried resetting as advised by other users but just goes back to the same logo.  Tried connecting to iTunes but device is not picked up at all.  Left it over night to run flat hoping charging might kick start something....but when I put on the charger it shows the battery charge icon but won't actually charge it.  It's really doin my head in trying to find a fix - cheers Morgan

  • Frozen screen, black, screen with white whirly circle

my ipad seems frozen, black screen with white whirly circle, before this happened, kept going to the apple logo on the black screen

It might be time to restore your iPad. Recovery mode might be needed as well.
iPad: Unable to update or restore
Before you try recovery mode, connect the iPad to your computer and launch iTunes. Click on the iPad on the left side under devices. Then click on the summary tab. See if that works and if it does, click on Restore and try that way first.
iTunes: Backing up, updating and restoring iOS software
If that doesn't work, then you will probably have to resort to using recovery mode.

  • Black screen with white boxes?

I restarted my macbook about an hour ago, and it started up, then all I saw was a black screen with white boxes everywhere. I managed to login, but I can't see anything. Attached is what I see on my screen.

    Hi maxh231,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If you are not seeing video on your MacBook display, try these troubleshooting steps first:
    Reset the system
You can reset the Mac's parameter RAM and SMC.
    Reset the resolution
Start by resetting the Mac's parameter RAM. If the display does not come up, was previously set to an unsupported resolution, and still results in no video:
    Start up in Safe Mode.
From the Apple () menu, choose System Preferences.
Choose Displays from the View menu to open the preferences pane.
Select any resolution and refresh rate that your display supports.
    Restart your computer.
You can find the steps above and more information here:
