Black title with clip audio

Hi!
I started using iMovie 11 and I'm having a small issue with it.
I want to finish my project by fading to a black screen and having then text appearing on the screen, but keeping the audio of the clip.
I've tried to drop a title AFTER a clip but it does then cut the audio. I've also dropped a title ON a clip but then it doesn't have a fade to black background.
What I did until now is cut my clip in 2 parts, put a fade to black transition and tried to change the video options of the second clip to make it appear black. The result is not that good as I can't make the background full black (there's still some blue somewhere).
Any chance there's an easy and proper way to do that that I've missed?
Very simple, fade to black title with audio clip.
Thanks!

  • Why is an mov file showing up as a black screen with only audio?

I am importing a mov file into elements 11 and it is only showing up as a black screen with audio.  The clip will play in other programs on my computer but is not importing into elements 11.  The file was created on my panisonic camera.  I am pretty new to video editting and am quite frusterated.  I'm assuming it is some sort of codec issue but don't know how to proceed.  Thanks for any help.

  • Black Screen with only audio

    Hey Follow FCP users.
I'm importing a mini-dv tape thats in SP mode with 12bit audio and when I import into final cut, it gives me this error message:

  • Trouble With Clip Audio Tracks

I am importing DVCProHD24P footage from an external drive where each clip has 4 audio tracks, but once its imported only one audio track shows up, both in the tracks column of the browser as well as in the clip's item properties.
I thought something must have gone wrong when I copied the footage from the drive I got it from (originally imported from Pcards), but when I took my drive back and imported the same clips off my drive onto their system all four channels were there!
They have FCP5, I have FCP4HD, but all our audio settings seem to be identical. This is the first time I've worked with HD footage on my system, could that possibly be the problem? I'm sure I'm missing a setting somewhere but I'm stumped! Thanks for any help/troubleshooting ideas...

FCP HD won't support the P2 files you have. You need at least FCP 5, and if it were me I'd totally take advange of the crossgrade Apple has right now. If you only have FCP HD, you can upgrade to the Universal version of the entire studio for 199 bucks... link here: http://www.apple.com/universal/crossgrade/ You'll need Tiger to run it on too.

  • Inserting Black Slide With No Music

Using iWork08, I opened a PowerPoint (PP) presentation and saved it in Keynote 08 (KN).
When running presentation in PP it is possible to have the first slide BLACK with no music, make a few comments, and when I want to proceed just hit the return key and the presentation continues with music.
In KN the presentation plays music with the first BLACK slide. If I turn music off, it turns it off for the remainder of the presentation. Is there a way to insert a BLACK slide at the beginning of KN with no music and have music commence with the second slide forward?
    jzach52

Given the way that the current version of Keynote deals with audio tracks, what you are trying to do is not possible - directly. There are a couple of workarounds I could suggest, but both are rather cumbersome:
    1) Determine how much time you need for your opening comments under the black slide and when Recording the Soundtrack, include that much silence at the head of the audio track before the music starts; have the first "real" slide begin with the music.
    2) Create a silent, black slideshow: one single black slide with no audio. Then Hyperlink the end of this to the first slide in your regular presentation. This will allow you to have as much time as you need for the introductory comments.
CAVEAT: The slideshow will NOT retain any of your Recorded Synchronization when played back via a hyperlink. You will need to advance all of your Builds and Transitions manually. Thus, this is not likely a solution to your problem if you want your slideshow to playback fully automatically.

  • How do I have the audio of a clip play underneath a black title page?

I have a project where I am asking a couple the same question seperately. I have a black title page that writes out the interviewer's question for 2 seconds, but while the title page is displayed, I would like to hear interviewer asking the question (without seeing the footage). How do I place a black title page in front of a clip so only the audio plays while the title page is running?
    THANK YOU!

The simplest way would be to
    0) In iMovie/Preferences make sure that the Advanced Tools are enabled.
    1) Add your tite to the movie.
    2) Find the event clip that contains the audio and select the portion that you need. Drag it to the project and drop it on the Title. A pop-up menu should appear. Choose "Audio Only".
There are other ways as well if this does not work for you.

  • Titles-Clips-Audio

I have a movie clip with audio. I then paste at playhead a still photo clip of 11:20 length. I do and everything is fine. NOW I want to add a Scrolling Title. I type in my block of words the clip photo is rendered and it now becomes 20:01 in length and the audio now has a pause before it picks up in the next clip. The added length of the clip actually has no scrolling as the scrolling was about 11:20 in length.
Sure would appreciate some help BTW can someone tell me how to do math and figure out exactly where and when a clip can be inserted?

Hi froggi - Do I understand you correctly? You have used Advanced>Paste Over at Playhead to insert a still with an 11:20 duration. You have then applied an 11:20 duration Scrolling Title to the still. This still for some reason has now increased to over 20 secs. This extra length (which is not displaying any title) has no audio. Audio starts again with the remainder of the video clip.
I do not know why the extended still duration has happened. It sounds almost as though you have mistakenly pasted another copy of the still. Anyway, it should be possible to trim it so that only the part with audio remains.
It may actually be better to do the Scrolling title BEFORE pasting it over.
tell me how to do math and figure out exactly where and when a clip can be inserted?
Do you mean where and when a 'paste over at playhead' can be inserted? If so, the answer is - anywhere. Usually it will be inserted into a single clip, so that clip would have to be longer than the paste-over.
    Does that help?

  • HT1657 Why do my movie downloads recently playback with no audio/visual?  I just get a black screen.  It's happened to 3 movies I have downloaded in the past week or two.  I never had this problem before.  Why do I now?

Why do I have download issues all of a sudden:  black scrren, no video, audio, visual, just a black screen.  It's happened 3 times in the past two weeks!  After two downloads, it was still an issue.  At least iTunes gave me a refund, but this is frustrating because I like to download and watch films and tv shows!  Thanks for any helpful feedback.  iTunes reps don't tell me why there is a problem.  They just issue a refund and send me on my way!

I noticd the problem after I downloaded the new update to MacKeeper. I had no issues with the last version of MacKeeper. I don't know if that is the problem or something else.
It is easy enough to try. Drag the MacKeeper.app to the trash. It should pop-up a message asking if you really want to delete. You do. If the problem goes away then MacKeeper was the cause and your problem is solved. You don't need any antivirus or cleanup software. They only cause problems on Macs.
Keeping Flash up-to-date is always a good idea. Download it only from Adobe. The best add-on for Flash is the ClickToFlash Safari Extension that keeps flash turned off until you run it.
Go to the Youtube HTML5 page to make Youtube give you HTML5 videos instead of Flash. Your videos will be higher quality and will make your machine run cooler.

  • Playlists don't work with separate audio clips

I have a timeline with 8 different clips and chapter playlists set up to play each clip individually and to play them in pairs.  This works fine.
But when I add audio to the timeline it goes wrong. I have 8 different audio clips that match up with the video clips.  If I view the timeline itself, everything is OK.  If I view the first clip's playlist (with the first audio clip) it also works OK.  But if I view any of the other playlists, the DVD (and previewer) return me back to the menu as soon as the audio track starts (this is the end action). If I delete any of the audio tracks, the playlists for those videos work fine again.
I also see similar behaviour on another timeline where a second audio clip starts midway: the chapter immediately before the new audio track is skipped in a playlist and the DVD plays the subsequent chapter (there are many chapters on that timeline).
The only solution I've come up with is to burn a DVD with no audio, rip the video, line up the audio tracks I want to use with the video, export them all in one big file and then add that single clip into Encore.  It's not really something I want to do, to be honest.
Is there any explanation for this strange behaviour, or is it another bug?
Thanks for any help or pointers towards sorting this out.

I'm with Neil on the 8 separate Timelines. There are pitfalls to grouping multiple Clips onto one Timeline, and even an Audio Unit's difference in Duration can cause issues.
If you do go with the discrete Timelines workflow, you'll just do Playlists, and not Chapter Playlists instead.
    Good luck,

  • Does version 12 support producing video clip with AMR audio codec?

From some documents i used as reference to proceude some videos for my phone Premiere Elements 8 can produce video clips with AMR audio codec. I bought today the Premiere elements 12 but I can not find a way to set AMR audio codec for my video clip. Only AAC audio codec seems available.   Is it possible to add AMR codec to 12 version?

    Neurona17
Adobe typically supports only current version, and, if you purchased from it, is strict on "within 30 days of purchase": for money back on that current version purchase. I do not believe such a thing as a "change the license for other earlier release such as 8 or 9" exists at Adobe. But, you could ask. If you wish to purchase one of those earlier versions that supports AMR export, you might still find some online.
Is the before import conversion of AMR to WAV a viable alternative?

Unfortunately so far I have not been able to generate any useful video clip for my system with this 12 version.
Is this in regard to the AMR requirement or to any video without the AMR audio?
Online I have seen that there is a download for the AMR audio codec. Does your system now show that you have such a codec installed on your computer. If not, I am not sure if download of this codec would place it in the Premiere Elements Publish+Share export settings choices, similar to import of some .avi video codecs. (Sometimes 3rd party codecs can create problem, so proceed with caution if you pursue that AMR audio codec idea.
Please update us on your progress when you get a chance.

  • Working with clips after audio has been extracted

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to trim clips once the audio has already been extracted? I have tried to do this, but the trimming only applies to the video strand, leaving the audio full length (an out of sync).
Or does any trimming have to be done before audio extraction?
    Thanks.

Go into the "timeline" mode (as opposed to the "clips" mode). Place the playhead at the point you want to make the cut. Click on the video clip, and you will be able to "split" the video clip. Leave the playhead alone, then click on the corresponding extracted audio clip below the video clip. You will be able to "split" the audio clip. You may then want to "lock" the audio clip to the video clip at the playhead, so that it stays in sync.
If you already split the video clip and moved it, you may be able to re-sync it with the audio by dragging the audio clip in the timeline mode. In addition, if you set the preference to snap to the beginnings of clips, you should be able to accurately re-sync.
