  • "The BlackBerry Desktop Software cannot connect with this device." after repair

I download the Desktop Software for BlackBerry onto my Mac Book Pro for the first time.
After installing I connected my PlayBook. I get the message "The BlackBerry® Desktop Software cannot connect with this device."
The program suggested I repair the device software, so I did. After that I set it up and ran the updates.
When I plug it back in I get the exact same message.
    What should I do next?

I also cannot connect to my two playbooks using desktop manager on mac.
One of the two playbooks is now shipped back to rim for repair (see here http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-PlayBook/5MP-Playbook-Camera-Blackscreen-Errors-Ha... The issue of desktop manager not being able to connect to the playbook started with this playbook when the repair I was prompted to to stopped 1/4 way into it. Multiple retries did not make any difference.
Since then, I have tried connecting my other (functioning) playbook to the same mac but when I plug in usb cable I get the same "cannot connect" errmsg and prompted to "repair". I am definitely NOT going to "repair" this one. So I uninstalled the desktop manager and reinstalled it to see if it makes a difference. Unfortunately it did not and I get the same "cannot connect" errmsg.
If anyone has any suggestion how this issue can be resolved that would be great. I think something is stuck on the mac and is not getting wiped out when desktop manager is uninstalled. Thanks.

  • Photoshop Elements 6 compatibility with Mac OS X 10.7 Lion

Has anyone tested PSE 6's compatibility with Mac OS X Lion?
    Thanks in advance.

It's Intel based so it should work.

  • Blackberry Desktop Software only synchronizes with folder Outlook in Microsoft Outlook

Blackberry Desktop Software only synchronizes with folder Outlook in Microsoft Outlook.  But, folders (.PST files) may be renamed and there may be multiple such folders open in Outlook at any time.  I have six, none of which is named Outlook.  Two of those are archival and four are associated and named for email addresses. The Desktop software should list the pst files checkboxes to indicate whether synchronization should be performed with them.

Well I believe I have figured out the answer to my own question, I ended up having to do a repair installation for Office 2010 and I was able to sync from outlook to the Blackberry.

  • Are ntfs files compatable with mac os lion

are ntfs files compatable with mac os lion

Files aren't ntfs or hfs or ufs or zfs.
Those are file systems that is the basis for how the OS stores the files on the computer. Files are store inside a file system, but the file system doesn't normally affect the file itself.
Mac OS X can natively read nt file systems. If you want to write, then you'll need something like Siddharth Khanna pointed out. I've also used Tuxera's product. You can use a combination of MacFuse and NTFS-3G for free, but if you need normal everyday access, that's going to fall short, I think.
On the other hand, Windows can't natively handle HFS+ at all. If you need to format an external drive to work with both, I'd suggest using exFAT. Mac OS X from 10.6.6 on can read and write it, and Windows back to some version of XP can read/write it. As the name implies, it is much like FAT, but on steroids. It can handle very large file sizes and disk sizes.

I am strictly an Elements Windows user but try to find common ground between Premiere Elements Windows and Mac to give a viable response to Premiere Elements Mac questions.
On this one, I suspect that the bottom line is going to be "try it" and see what happens in your specific computer environment.
Please review the discussion in the following thread
Re: Premiere Elements 10 crashes on disc templates
Also, you are in for major display problems with Premiere Elements 10 on a computer that uses a NVIDIA GeForce video card/graphics card.
There the fix is to roll back the driver version to May 2013 in order to get Premiere Elements 10 to function properly.
Please review, consider, and then let us know the outcome when your schedule permits.
    Thank you.

That's a pretty old version, significantly predating Mac OS X 10.6, so I doubt it will be compatible. I'd suggest you contact the developer of PowerCADD and ask them:

  • BB Desktop Manager no longer works with Mac Maverick - Need Help Urgently

I have been a loyal Blackberry user since the Government of Canada officially began using these cell phones. I feel, however, abandoned by Blackberry (they obviously don't believe that it is easier to retain an existing customer than acquire a new one). I'm using a Blackberry Bold (9900) with a Macbook Pro. Everything was fine until I upgraded my Mac operating system to Maverick; my Blackberry Desktop Manager no longer works, so I cannot sync the content (contacts, calendar) of my phone with my Mac, but that's not the worst of it.
I recently had a momentary lapse and exceeded the 10 password attempts to access my phone... this accidentally wiped my phone clean... and because Desktop Manager does not work with Mac, I do not have a way to recover my data. Rogers was of no help and had Blackberry updated its desktop software months ago, as it should have, this issue would have been moot. I do not know how or why, but I was able to recover most of my data, but I'm not sure just how up-to-date tha data is and am still going through it, but I'm having issues with some functionality.
I'm in the US for several months and have suspended my Canadian services. Prior to the wipe, I was able to use wifi on my phone to send and receive emails with no problem.  After the wipe, I can't send emails or bbms.  I checked my blackberry internet service and all email accounts are good to go. BBMs are another issue.  I need help.  Suggestions please.

Apple has ceased synchronization with Mavericks. The issue lies with Apple, not with the desktop software. To mitigate the lack of sync capabilities in Mavericks you can sync your contacts and calender on your Mac with the usual suspects (Yahoo, Google). Create a backup (archive) for Contacts and Calender on your Mac first, then create one of those email accouonts that allow syncing. On your 9900 and with BlackBerry provisioning enabled create the new or existing email account. See which email accounts can sync with BB, I know Yahoo is working fine. For Yahoo, get the Yahoo Calender sync (a few bucks one-off payment required), Contacts sync works off the shelf within BB. If you reset the 9900 you should be able to restore all data with BB DTM. Please note that emails you received during the 9900 reset and the date of restore will not be available on the device. You will still not be able to sync contacts/calender over BB DTM. I hope that helps.

  • Have just wiped blackberry contacts by incorrectly syncing with mac. Can this be reversed?

    Hello,
I have just accidentally replaced all the contacts from my blackberry with my mac's address book contacts and did not want this to happen. Using the blackberry desktop manager I chose the option to sync contacts then overwrote the contacts with the macs ones, rather than merged the contacts. I realise that I pressed the wrong button, but is there any way to reverse this overwrite? Stupidly I have not backed it up before, I don't think. All my fault, I know!
Any help would be greatly appreciated as this means I'm going to have to send out a lot of embarrasing emails and facebook messages asking for phone numbers.
    Thanks.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Well, only if you have a backup somewhere do you have the opportunity to fall back. If you used the Desktop Software to ever take a backup, then you can restore to that state. If you used the FREE BB Protect app, then you should have a backup in the cloud from whenever you last used it to backup (which can be automated, btw). If you did not avail yourself of either of those FREE protection methodologies, then you have migrated from the latter to the former of this old saying:
"There are two kinds of computing device users -- those who have lost data, and those who will."

  • Blackberry curve 8330 smartphone compatibility with windows 7

Hi, Could anyone please provide me information whether Blackberry curve 8330 smartphone compatible with both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 7 operating system?

Hi and Welcome to the forums!
Compatibility is a function of the RIM Desktop Software more so than the device itself. See here:
