Blank screen on load - how to set a custom thumbnail

I work at an academic library where we create a lot of tutorials, which we put on our website and on YouTube and Vimeo. With previous versions of Captivate (before Captivate 6), before you hit play, you would see the initial slide. Now, the screen is just blank until you hit play. On YouTube and Vimeo you can set a custom thumbnail that shows before you hit play; is there a way to do this within Captivate (we're now on version 8).
I'm not talking about the preloader image. I tried adding an image of the first slide as a preloader image, but it shows only while the video is loading, and once it's loaded, the screen goes blank again.

I will be happy to help you; however I can't help but wonder, is this a prank?
I noticed you posted on April 1st, coincidentally April Fools.
In any case, HP does not have any printer's that support printing on toilet paper.
As for your second inquiry, I would suggest the Officejet 8600, the XL cartridge will print approximately 2300 pages.
It supports many media types, but not toilet paper.

How to set a custom column in a workflow task.

Hello,
I'm looking for some assistance a bit with how to set a custom column in a Workflow Task.
I have a List Workflow that starts when an item is created in a list. The workflow, platform type SharePoint 2013, starts a new task, Task1, with Content Type 1. This Content Type has a custom column called Age. Once the Task1 is completed a new task, Task2,
with Content Type 2, starts and has the same column Age, as Task1.
How can I populate the Age column in Task2 with the content of the Age column in Task1?
Since I start the task by running "Assign a task to ..." Action I was thinking to copy the Age column from the Task1 to the list item that started Task1, which has a column Age as well, and then in Task2 to start another workflow - which is associated
with the Content Type 2, that would try to read the Age column from the list item that started Task2, which was set once Task1 was competed - I know it's complex but this is how I was thinking.
The problem with this approach is that I can't get a reference to the list item that started Task2 to read the Age from the list item.
Is there a better approach? I use SharePoint Designer 2013 to design all this.
Any assistance is appreciated.

you can get the Age column from Task 1 and then update the Task 2 Age column with that value. I am not sure why you want to run another workflow on Task 2.
You can perform below steps to set Age column from Task 1 to Task 2.
1. Create Task 1 using Assign a task , wait till the task is completed.
2. Get the Age column value based on Task 1 once the task is completed.
3.Create Task 2 using Assign a task , uncheck wait till the task is completed option.
4. Update the Task 2 with Age column in Task1.
5. Use Wait for the field to equal value , check for Task Status is completed or not.

you can get the related item from task list item to get the main list item.
Other option is, Use Javascript and CSOM in task edit form to get the Age column from Task1 and prepoluate the Age value when Task2 is opened.

I have a pretty major issue, I just finished a rough cut of a feature film and I decided to change my hard drive drive letters so they were more organized. Now premiere pro 2014 (up to date version) will not open the project properly.
The file loads then it says looking for media then that goes away and it sits at a blank screen forever.

Blank screen after loading Creative Cloud?

When I try to run the file, 'Launching creative Cloud does not finish installing and a blank screen appears. (Windows 7) I have tried uninstall/reinstall, I have tried removing the OOBE file step by step, neither of which have helped. Suggestions? I've now lost a day of my 'free trial.'

I have Windows 7 Premium, but maybe this will help with your Windows 8.
I've tried all the following solutions in many posts to no avail, except for creating new windows account. New account was the only way for it to work and I did not want that.
I finally figured out the root of all evil. The ampersand in Windows user folder name (not the Windows displayed user name).
If you have ampersand (&) or other non-alphabet characters in windows user folder name (Example: C:\Users\Bob & Mary), then Flash Builder will fail to install (happened to me), Creative Cloud will display white screen, and/or other miscellaneous problems.
I confirmed this to be true and works:
1) I had blank Creative Cloud window as shown in the first post.
2) I renamed the display username and window user folder name by doing the instructions here:

(Example: Change from "Bob & Mary" to "Bob n Mary" - without the quotes)
3) After logging back in my newly renamed account, I opened Creative Cloud and login interface shows up! :-)

How to set one custom SQL to blank

I would like to manage the update of the objects of a given descriptor in the code of an "about to update" method (toplink event).
At the same time I would like the default update statement does not occur any more. I was thinking about setting the update sql query in my descriptor, using workbench (custom sql section). But what should I write down here.

This is fairly advanced; you could do it a few different ways:
1 - Set the custom update SQL to some no-op operation, i.e. "Delete from Dual where 1 = 2".
2 - Use a redirect UpdateObjectQuery for the descriptor's update operation.
3 - Use a custom query subclass for the descriptor's update operation.
i.e. something similar to,
descriptor.getQueryManager().setUpdateQuery(new UpdateObjectQuery() {
public void executeCommit() {
// custom update code here.
public void executeCommitWithChangeSet() {
executeCommit();
4 - Use a custom call on a descriptor's update operation.

Is there a way to set a customized search results template for all users? If it's impossible, is there a way to modify the Headline view? I'm not able to find the resource or template where this view is.

I wasn't able to understand what was meant by this post. Therefore, I modified the standard template HeadLine View.
Columns for this template are defined in the include slim_search_result_table_header_setup (in std_page.htm).
Here is the modification of the code:

SQL*Loader - How to set numeric seperator in Controlfile for float external

I need to use "FLOAT EXTERNAL" instead of "to_number" and I want ensure that the correct numeric separator is set.
At "to_number it look like:

But how should I set the numeric separator at this case, without changing datatype FLOAT EXTERNAL?

Sure I could set it at environment, but I write a program which generate controlfiles for the datafiles, because this I want ensure that the datafiles can be correct imported independed of the environment settings.

Property Loader - How to set it up for all sequences?

I made an attempt to use the property loader for the first time. (TS3.5).
I set it up in the setup section of the SequenceFileLoad and specified few parameters of the FileGlobals.
What happened was a proper operation for the SequenceFileLoad sequence, but as soon as the procedure stepped into the MainSequence, the values return to the original values. I repeated the process with and without import to Run-time sequence only' and it behaved the same.
Is there a way to set it up so ti will apply to all sequences within my sequence file and also to the external sequence files called from the main sequence. In short to replace the parameters of the FileGlobals for the duration fo the test.

The behavior you are seeing with the SequenceFileLoad engine callback is expected. The SequenceFileLoad callback occurs before the Sequence File is actually loaded. In your case, you are setting the FileGlobals then loading the SequenceFile. When the Sequence File is loaded by the engine, the FileGlobals are also loaded in with the file. So the FileGlobals are reset to their default values. If you want to set the FileGlobals from the property loader, put the Property Loader step in the Setup group of the MainSequence. In this case, you are setting the values of the FileGlobals after the Sequence File is already loaded.
FileGlobals only have a scope that covers a SequenceFile. You will not
be able to load FileGlobals that are accessible to sequences in
external sequence files. You have a few options for getting the data into the external sequences:
(1) Add parameter variables to the Parameters section of each external sequence. When the sequence is then invoked, you can pass the data which will be used by the sequence. This provides the proper data dependency between sequences and avoids confusion on when the data is being initialized.
(2) For each Sequence File or each Sequence, create a separate property file. When each sequence is called, then use the Property Loader step to load in the data.
(3) Use StationGlobals instead of FileGlobals. StationGlobals have a scope that covers all SequenceFiles on a test station. However, this is not a recommended method, because the data is accessible to all sequences. For large applications, it is easy to mistake points in the sequences where data is being initialized and used. In these cases, you may expect the data to be a certain value that it isn't because another Sequence has already changed the data values. That is why it is better to use smaller scoped data variables.

Blank screens while loading .swf videos

I have several .swf movies on a website I am designing. The
smaller movies load fairly quickly but the larger movies just pop
up a white screen until the movie loads and it can take up to 7
seconds. I would like something like a bar or an animated
"Loading..." to pop up until the movie loads. Anyone have any ideas
on the best way to go about this? Thanks!

13" MacBook Pro - Retina, Late 2013 (A1502) Blank screen on startup, how do I fix?

The model experienced a minor water spill via the rear vents (from left to right). After "drying" the model, the system turned on with the display, everything worked great for over 6 hours. After adjusting the display brightness up via the F2 key, the display went black shortly thereafter..
Attempted all of the on/off tricks, including clearing the startup ram, so now it voices to hit the return key to run the setup in English (annoying).
External Sony TV and Samsung LCD display were blank. The TV stated that no signal was detected.
Plugged in iPhone 5S on both left and right USB ports, received buzz on startup for both, yet no charging indication.
