Blank screen while release working time

Hi,
One particular employee in Prod system (ESS Portal), is getting a blank screen while releasing his working time. (It is working fine for all other users)
I did following things
1. User has all the right master data (backend data)
2. Did a backend trace (ST01/ST05), and find that the RFC for releasing working time is not getting triggered for this user. (It is triggering and working as required for all other users)
3. In backend trace did not find any valid authorization failures.
Please suggest.

maybe he doesnt have enough portal authorizations. check by giving him the administrator portal role and try again.

The initial exception that caused the request to fail, was:

ESS portal: Hide additional info field in release working time screen

Hi,
I need to know how can i hide 'additional info' field in the release working time screen?
I know i would use personalization but don't know the way to do that.

it will be shown in header only in release application, let me explain
In the time recording application, when you enter a record and click
on review, the additional info columns shows the text. This works
because the data is entered by the user and the entered record is
mapped to additional info column.
In time release application, all the records from database are retrieved
and displayed. The user does not enter any data. Hence in this case it
is not possible to map the records to text in the additional info
column. The Error/Warning messages are displayed in the top of the list
with detailed information. We feel the information displayed is
sufficient for the user to take necessary action. Usually in the release
application, there would be lots of records. Displaying text in both
additional info column and also at the top of the list is not a feasible
solution.
Technically it would be difficult for us to change this behavior in the
standard application.
we have new application in EHP5.

Blank Screen while navigating from one screen to another in a web application.
While navigating through the screens of the web-based application, I get blank screen at times. The application menu bar is still visible and the header and footer jsps are also still available. The main processing frame alone goes blank. Once I get the blank screen, I am able to choose from the menu option and contine navigating through the screens.
The application has been deployed on WebSphere Application Server v6.0 and uses JDK 1.4.2. I have checked the application, server and systemerr logs. And there are no exceptions in any of the log files. There is no difference in the logs for a normal flow and the flow when the blank screen occurs.
The blank screen does not occur always. It occurs around 3 out of 10 times. If you consider a particular page, mostly it loads normally and very few times, the blank screen occurs.
Compression filter is being used and it gets invoked for every request. Size before and after compression also gets printed in the logs.
Could this be causing any issue in terms of memory handled or could any jsp timeout be happening, though there are no exceptions in the logs.

Well, since no one has any ideas, here is my two cents worth:
Can you turn off compression and see if the problem goes away? If not, I suggest creating a small separate project with the same functionality as that part of the program that causes problems and see if you can duplicate it. Use System.out.println() in the java code and out.write() in the JSP pages throughout the java and JSP code to write to the log file or console as each section is run to see what section is causing problems. You can also consider commenting out sections of code in your JSP page to see if you can isolate the problem.
I had a similar problem with the screen being blank and this is what I found:
My JSP page had an include tag in it that included another JSP page. The outer JSP page was drawn and waited for the included JSP page to be drawn. The logic took several minutes to run and something timed out. The inner JSP page was never drawn. No log entry occurred. It appears that it was not Apache or Tomcat that caused the problem, but some firewall or similiar such device. If you have a firewall or similar device, see if the person who maintains it can temporarily set its timeout to a very long time (15 minutes) to see if the problem goes away. Apache and Tomcat probably also have a timeout feature too. You will have to read up on their configuration settings on how to set them.
By the way, each of those devices probably has its own log file you can read to see if its reporting an error.

Sudden blank screen, now not working

My early 2011 MacBook Pro was working normally, I was reading an Ebook and getting ready to play an online poker game, when suddenly a blank screen (initially white, the whole screen). I restarted, and the first time it seemed like it would be OK, then I got an error message saying there was a graphics problem, and it would be reported. I tried to restart VMware Fusion (for the poker game), and it began to open, then the whole screen turned dark grey. Subsequent attempts to restart-- I get the Apple logo and the indicator line beneath, but the pixels look funny, like there is horizontal but not vertical response, and it reloads about a third of the way and shuts down-- repeatedly. I am using my older IMac right now, but there is a lot of data in the MacBook that I use daily-- need to fix it as soon as possible-- and this is happening at a moment when I don't have any money, and I need the computer to find or make some…….
Any useful feedback would be much appreciated.

yes... not at all.. blank screen doesn't work with certain video cards... a
lot of them are mentioned in the readme

Blank Screen while opening Access Request.

One of our role approvers is getting blank screen while opening an Access Request to approve and also getting blank screen doing search for the access request. See attached. Please advise. Thank you.

Cats release working time service

Dear Experts
We are using CATS in ESS. We are creating the cats time entry and releasing it from release working time service. The scenario is working fine in dev portal. But in Quality portal the once all the timesheets have been released if we click on the release working time link, it shows service is locked.
We have checked sm12, object locking in portal, session management but everything is fine. We also checked the services in ECC, it also seems fine.
Please help!

can you check this test for me first open record working time, record time and log off. Does it release the lock from SM12? Next test, check in CAT2. Dos it release the locks? Main issue is session should be released ? can you confirm above

CATS - error in workflow while releasing the time entry record

Dear Experts,
I have setup the configuration for CATS with approval along with workflow. I have maintained the Entry profile and also the Approval steps.
After entering the time sheet and while releasing the record, system is prompting to enter the user id, I have entered the user id and click OK button, system is producing the following error message:
An error occurred on starting the workflow
Message no. LR365
Diagnosis
For technical reasons, the system cannot start the SAP Business Workflow.
Procedure
Contact your system administrator.
I have activated the work flow customization using Trnx SWU3.
Can some one please help me out in solving this problem.

I got the solution, we have to maintain the task TS31000004 as general task in the transaction PFTC - 31000004 -> Additional Data -> Agent Assignment -> Maintain, in the next screen GOTO -> Attributes (F8), then Change the task type to General task.
Also we have to create variant by name WORKFLOW for the program RCATSB01.
The above has solved my problem.

Getting blank screen while taking F1 help in SAP.

Hi all,
When I take F1 help for any text in SAP, I'm getting a blank screen instead of the Documentation/ explanation.
Also at times, I'm getting blank windows for some of the standard errors & for some standard program's documentation.
Heard it is a problem due to some missing patch...while installing SAP.
How to install this missing patch?
Any advise to rectify this problem would be of great help.

if you had any recent IE (internet explorer) updated revert it back, some times that will fix this as well.... or have a latest version 7.0 of GUI.

Getting blank screen while accessing EBS

Most of the times I get a blank screen when I try to access EBS URL. To make it work I need to restart HTTP Apache service. Please let me know what is the issue with my environment

Blank screen while pressing "Cancel" or "Back" button in Portal

Hi Experts,
We have a peculiar problem.
The user is trying to access time levelling report (which is a
iView) in MSS.
The user is getting the output of the report. When the user tries to press "back button" from the output screen (which is a SAP Transaction iView) the user is getting blank screen insted of report input screen.
Please suggest me some hints to resolve this.

I was calling details screen( screen called from ALV) using call screen in double click event. I changed this to SET SCREEN 110.LEAVE SCREEN. Now my back button in ALV screen started working as expected.

Clicking "Get started" when trying to Sign in to Sync on Portable FF, I get a blank screen. It works on installed FF. What can I do to get it to work portably?

Portable Firefox:
1. I click on the "hamburger icon" in the top right
2. I click "Sign in to Sync"
3. I click "Get started"
4. I get a blank screen with no option to create new or log in to existing account.
Installer Firefox or Firefox Mobile:
1-3: Same as above
4. I get the form to sign up and enter my credentials
5. I don't get an activation e-mail

I've fixed the first problem, seeing a blank screen. This was due to Third party cookies. Apparently those has to be accepted.
But I still don't get any e-mail links to verify my account. I've tried to resend a couple of times from the Android app and from the portably installed version on Windows. I've also created a second account without any luck to be able to verify.

Blank screen while using a ati radeon x1300 pro graphics card

i'm getting a blank screen at start up while using my radeon x1300 pro... dont really know whats wrong with it. the agp slot is good, i'm getting power to the card, my board is set to boot agp/pci for the video so thats good. only problem is is that i'm not sure what the model of my motherboard is to check with compatiblity. got the mb and processor from a buddy of mine. he got the mb and processor from a friends grandpa... so to make long storys short. i have no idea what my computer is made of but from what i hear ati products dont seem to get along well with msi. is there any logical reason? and if so is there anything that i have overlooked here? common problems and such. i've updated everything i could update but still no signs of life comming from my video card " and yes the card was pushed in all the way". any feed back would be appreciated.

The camera app on my iPad gives me a blank screen so I can't take pics or videos. It worked earlier today.

Close the Camera app in the Task Bar and re-launch.
Double-click the Home button to reveal Task Bar. Hold Camera app down for a second or two; tap the minus sign to close app.
If it still doesn't work, try a reset.
Hold the Sleep and Home button down (together) for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the red slider.

Blank screen while making calls

hi! im getting blank screen when im making a call,i have checked if its a problem with the proximity sensor but its not.
the screen just goes blank when i hit the call button and i can do nothing for example to end the call or etc.. all i can do to get the screen activated is by pressing the power button but by the time the call is disconnected..hmm ..anyone with the same problem????

This really bad if you can't put the iPhone 3G in a case. What was Apple thinking? They need to explain what the impact is that these sensors have on use of the iPhone so that users can actually use the device to make a phone call.
