Blank screen with adobe acrobat x

Since I loaded acrobat x (reader 10.0), i get a blank screen when i try to view bank statements.  I am using windows XP and explorer 8.  I tried going into acrobat, edit, preferences, internet and deseleted "display PDF in browser".  Still doesn't work.  Any suggestions?

  • Blank screen on Adobe Acrobat Pro Startup 9.0

    **See screenshot below.
After installing our volume license here on campus, I'm getting this blank screen on startup. This is only happening with one machine. We all have the same systems and configurations, so not sure what it is. I have to use Task Manager to quit the program. Thought it was the graphic drivers for our NVidia card GeForce 5200, but I updated those and had the same problem. Also tried repair, removed, cleaned registry, then reinstall again. I still cannot get this to work. This is an older Dell Optiplex GX270, 1 gb of RAM.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    ~eva

Acrobat XI Pro does not work as well as previous versions. For example, using "Combine Files into PDF" function, Acrobat will not work if one or more of your WORD docs has a text layer (such as in a WORD template to produce a letterhead).  The text layer will not print to PDF, although this function works fine in previous versions.  It will convert your WORD docs to PDF, but if any WORD doc has a text layer, it will not be converted.  It will show up as a blank space.  I have a letterhead text layer that has my work credentials.  It does not show up on the converted PDF, using the bundle (Combine Files into PDF) function.  Tech Supports workaround for this is to first create a PDF from the WORD page that has a text layer by first clicking on Acrobat, at the top of the monitor page, then clicking on Create PDF.  Save the PDF, which will have the printed text layer.  Then go to Combine Files into PDF and include that already created PDF page in the bundle.  That will work, but it's another step you have to go through to create your bundle, i.e., your work flow is interrupted by having to accomplish the workaround (documented in Adobe Case No. 0185444461).  Acrobat Pro 9 extended did not need this workaround - nor did previous versions.  Tech Supports comment was that Adobe changed a lot of things - in this case, not for the good.

  • Reader X problem.  I get following error message:There is a problem with Adobe acrobat Reader If it

    I am recieving this message:
There is a problem with Adobe acrobat Reader, if it is running, please exit and try again (103:103).
I used to be able to open pdf files directly in Explorer now I just get a blank screen and Done.  Can anyone help me please?

http://www.essexinfo.net/queens-road-residents-association/assets/documents/village-voices is one example but a whole lot of the material which has been uploaded as pdf files over the last four years is now unviewable - if you click on the link you just get a black page.  The main site url is http://www.essexinfo.net and our site is the Queens Road Residents Association.  I have just gone through every link on the site and a number of links when clicked on will not bring up the material.  I tried going into Adobe 10 on my computer and disenabling protected mode as was suggested on your forum and at first when I went back into the essex info site it seemed to have worked when I clicked on a link that had only produced a black page.  However when I went back to test all the other links I found that the problem was still re-occuring.  This is really weird as the site and my connections to it which I sometimes make by directly accessing the site and sometime via a link from our QRRA blog have always worked perfectly with no problems up to now.  I downloaded adobe 10.1 on 8 March 2011.
I contacted essexinfo separately but they said everything seemed to be OK at their end working from within the system.
If you can help I would appreciate it.

  • Issue with Adobe Acrobat 9 and check writer

My user is having the following issue when running check writer.
I am having an issue when I try and print the Oracle checks. They run fine, but when I click on the view output which usually brings up a pdf screen of my check. Instead gives me 2 blank screens with a question mark icon.
I noticed that Adobe Acrobat 9 was installed the same day I started having the isssue.
Has anyone else had this problem or know if Oracle HRMS R12 is not compatible with Adobe Acrobat 9?
    Thanks!

  • "there is a problem with adobe acrobat/reader. if it is running please exit and try again. (523.523)

We are getting the following error "there is a problem with adobe acrobat/reader. if it is running please exit and try again. (523.523)" and a gray screen appears (Image not viewable) with multiple users. We are using Adobe Reader XI (11.0.05) and (11.0.06). The current workaround is to log off the website and log back in. Once the user logs back in, the pdf will appear. However it occurs anywhere from 2-8 times in a day. Anyone else having this issue or know of another workaround? Any suggestion with how to fix? Please help!!

    Hi Valerie,
Please let me know the version of Adobe Acrobat/Reader & operating system installed on your computer?
    Also, try this:-
    Launch Adobe Reader/Acrobat.
From the menu, choose Edit -> preferences -> General
Uncheck the option for "Enable Protected Mode at startup"
Restart the Adobe Reader and web browser.

  • HT5678 Difficulty with Adobe Acrobat Professional in Safari 6.0.4

I am unable to open pdf files.  The screen goes black and the message, "There is a problem with Adobe Acrobat/Reader. If it is running, please exit and try again. (4:9)" pops up.  OS10.8.3   Safari 6.0.4

    Hi,
Third party unsupported Safari add ons are causing Safari to crash.
    /Library/InputManagers/Ecamm/Ecamm Plugin Loader.bundle/Contents/MacOS/Ecamm Plugin Loader
    /Library/InputManagers/Ecamm/Plugins/iGlasses.plugin/Contents/MacOS/iGlasses
    /Library/ScriptingAdditions/SIMBL.osax/Contents/MacOS/SIMBL
    /Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins/Keywurl.bundle/Contents/MacOS/Keywurl
Open a Finder window. Select MacintoshHD in the Sidebar on the left. Now open the LIbrary folder then the Input Managers folder.
Move these files to the Trash: Ecamm/Ecamm Plugin Loader.bundle/Contents/MacOS/Ecamm Plugin Loader
    and these: Ecamm/Plugins/iGlasses.plugin/Contents/MacOS/iGlasses
From that same Library folder open the Scripting Additions folder. Move these files to the Trash:
    SIMBL.osax/Contents/MacOS/SIMBL
Same Library folder open the Application Support folder. Move these files to the Trash: SIMBL/Plugins/Keywurl.bundle/Contents/MacOS/Keywurl
    Restart Safari.
Apparently iGlasses can only run if you start Safari in 32 bit mode according to the information here.
    http://www.ecamm.com/mac/iglasses/faq.html
You would have to restart in 64 bit when not using the plug in. Probably not worth the hassle. I hope you only have the trial version installed.
    OS Version: Mac OS X 10.6.5 (10H574)
You also need to update to v10.6.6. You can do this by clicking your Apple menu (top left in your screen) then click Software Update.

  • Why does Captivate pdf of lesson open to a blank screen with no content?

Saved and published Captivate elearning as a pdf.  When I opened it on my work computer or sent to others at work work for review, it opened as a full interactive eLearning.  I saved the pdf to a flash drive and copied the pdf to my home computer.  The file shows as the same MB size but opens to a blank screen with no content.  Do I need another version of Acrobat?  I don't have Captivate on my home computer.  I am looking for another job and need to show the learning as a sample of my work.  Help!

I have Acrobat 8 on my Mac Computer and it still doesn't open with content.  I tried installing the Flash player to my computer and still no go.  I sent the pdf to a recruiter with windows and they also didn't open.  I am very frustrated about what to do.

  • New Install - startx results in blank screen with mouse cursor

I installed Arch on my desktop last week with no issues, so I wanted to install it on an old THinkpad R31. Everything with the installation went smooth, but when I try to 'startx' all I get is a blank screen with a mouse cursor that I can move around. I've installed xorg-xinit, xorg-twm, xorg-xclock, and xterm.
I'm not getting any significant errors in the logs, or even the terminal I issue 'startx' in.
I'm not sure what the problem could be...
Here is my output from 'startx'

To run twm, you need to install xorg-twm from [extra] (I am not sure if it installs by default). Do you have xterm installed?
According to his first post he has both xorg-twm and xterm installed.
    I do indeed.
I went ahead and installed LXDE anyways, just to see what would happen. Exact same thing, it looks like everything is about to load but only the mouse cursor shows up. My Xorg.0.log is the same, so I won't post it again.
I do get an error in the console about the openbox menu.xml file missing but I doubt that's related.

YouTube will not work on safari for me on the ipad. Is there anyway to fix this? I can go anywhere else on the internet fine and it works on google chrome, but on safari it shows a blank screen with the bar on top after it loads, if it's even loading at all.
I do not know if it's relevant or not, but I got a message on my ipad while on safari saying that my iPhone has a virus. I looked it up and it seems it might have just been an ad from the website I was on, but it happened around the same time YouTube stopped working.

You will find that using the YouTube app will provide a better viewing experience for YouTube videos.

If there is no loading bar, it's usually a problem with a third party kext file in OS X itself.
You can press the power button down to force a hardware shutdown, then reboot holding the shift key down on a wired or built in keyboard, this will disable them and you go around and update your third party software.
Gray, Blue or White screen at boot, w/spinner/progress bar
Also take this time to backup your users files off the machine if possible.

Sometime that won't work and you need to do more

3 If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    4  Try on another computer
5  If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

    Hi
I've a big problem with adobe acrobat reader XI pro and I hope you can help me.
The problem is; when I past copied text from some pdf books (not all of them) it past symbols only! wherever I past it! and even if I coped that text from another pdf reader (adobe pdf reader, internet browsers, ...etc.).
This problem started to happen since yesterday when I installed adobe acrobat reader XI pro to try it before I buy it, and before that when I was using the free adobe pdf reader I was totally able to copy any text from any pdf and past it anywhere with nothing wrong.
    What can I do?
    thank you a lot.

There is no product called Adobe Acrobat Reader Pro. There is
    - Adobe Acrobat Pro ($$)
    - Adobe Reader (free)
Which do you have? And are you a programmer?

  • HELP with Satellite Series - P305-S8837; displaying blank screen with cursor

Help! I have a the P305-S8837 laptop in the Toshiba Satellite Series. I have had the laptop for several months now and it's been working fine until now. I was using it this morning (on the internet) and it started freezing up and so I hit Crtl + Alt + delete and selected the option to restart. It restarted and asked which mode I wanted to start it up in (safe mode, safe mode w/networking, etc.) and I selected the normal option. It started out fine - little windows logo came on with the sound and then went into the Welcome Windows Home Vista premium page (that's like bluish greenish) and then afterwards the screen just goes blank with the exception of the mouse cursor. I let it sit for about an hour and there was no change. I have tried pressing the Crtl + Alt + delete and that has had NO affect. So i manually turned it off and then back on using the power button and tried starting it up in Safe mode w/networking and then just safe mode - both are able to get to the welcome screen but after that it's just a blank screen with cursor and it says safe mode and stuff on the border. Crtl + Alt + delete does not work in the safe mode w/networking but in just the regular safe mode it will go to that same screen that is the welcome and ask if I want to lock the computer, change users, start task manager or restart / shut down. I have selected the restart option and nothing happens and then the Crtl + Alt + delete option no longer works. I have tried manually starting the laptop with the battery unattached and just using the AC Adapter and that has had no impact. I have tried just using the laptop's battery only with no AC Adapter and that has had no impact.
As you can see, I am in desperate need of some assistance! Please tell me what to do!
    Thanks

Turn the computer on and immediately press and hold the F8 key.
On the Advanced Boot Options menu, choose Repair Your Computer.
When you reach the System Recovery Options menu, choose Startup Repair.
If that doesn't do the trick, go back to the System Recovery Options menu and do a System Restore.
If that doesn't fix things either, go back to the System Recovery Options menu, choose Command Prompt, and follow the directions here
