Blank sms ?

So, ive send text message to whatever carrier and they arrive with no content, or sometimes with alfanumeric characters, att has review everything, apple says maybe language programing in device etc, anyone has solved this issue? for me happens in US or sending international, this is with random numbers

I'm having this problem with empty messages with my iPhone 5, I know that they are genuine messages from example my GF, postal service, etc so they are not sent by some random source, my phone just won't handle them properly.
P.S. Please open your phone app, choose the keypad and dial the numbers that have letters U, N, K, N, O, W, N on them and see what comes up - there is no conspiracy there.

  • Blank conversation appearing in iMessage

Yesterday I deleted a phone number and the entire message thread from my iMessage. Tonight the contact reappeared in my iMessage, but there was no message with it. It just appears as an unsaved contact and an empty conversation. Any ideas?

This happened to me as well. I received an imessage with no text and no air bubble and just the contact name at the top/  Since there is no was to send/get a blank SMS, i believe this is an imessage issue. I believe that if you deleted a message thread from someone and then, providing that your iphone and the other persons iphone is able to imessage and has imessage turned on, you will get a blank imessage if that other person reopened the old message thread on their phone and/or was about to type you something but didn't.  I think it is because imessage sends your iphone a blank message window to reopen a 'potential' imessage conversation, even though one wasn't started and nothing was typed.  I tested this with a friend. After receiving a blank imessage from someone, I was curious, so I deleted a message thread with someone who i can send imessages with. I then had them reopen the conversation and start to type but not send something. I then received the same blank imessage window from them on my iphone, which confirms this explanation.

  • PC Suite Communications Manager Blank Messages

    Hi,
I am using Windows XP SP3 with PC Suite 7.1.30.8. I am connecting to my Nokia 5310 through Bluetooth.
When I use the communications manager in PC suite to check on the SMSes on my phone, I see 5 blank messages. No matter how I try to delete these messages thru PC Suite, they always show up again when I sync. However on my phone itself, these blank message do hot show up. Example: I see 10 regular SMS and 5 blank SMS in PC suite, but when I access SMS directly on my phone, I only see the 10 regular SMS but not the 5 blank SMS.
Any way I can delete these blank SMSes?
    Thanks

  • SMS not sent and appears when you reboot your phone

Hi Guys, it seems this is the only way you can get help. My problem is I tried to send a sms when I didn't have enough funds, so now I deleted that sms, now everytime I reboot or take the battery out a blank sms to that exact person appears in my sms folder, as much as I delete it every time I reboot it comes back, very irritating how do I get rid of it, I have a curve 9360 and running os 7.1, this happened when I was running OS 7 but they dissapeared when I upgraded the os to 7.1 but it happened again when I tried to send a sms and didn't realise I had no money on my phone, pls help

First of all, it sounds like you are indeed on Verizon prepaid service (pay as you go).  If you buy a refill card to add money to your account to pay Verizon, you have prepaid service.  If you had non-prepaid service, you would have gone through a credit check to set up your account and you would get a bill from Verizon each month.
With prepaid service you can get a month of unlimited talk, text, and web (500 MB) for $45 but you have to be signed up for the correct plan.  It sounds like you are on the wrong plan.
Go to My Verizon and look at your Plan.  You are probably on a Daily plan, either Prepaid Basic (25 cents a minute to talk, plus 10 cents for each text) or 99 cent Daily (99 daily access fee, plus 10 cents a minute talk, plus 10 cents for each text). Plus you pay 99 cents for one day of web access with either plan.  Those plans are OK for people who just talk a few minutes here and there, but if you are talking/texting a lot you could easily burn through $70 in just a few days!
In My Verizon, change your plan to a Monthly Plan.  You can select the plan $45 Basic Phone Monthly.  That plan has the features and price you expect.
Unfortunately because of your mistake, you will have to add more money into your account to pay for your first month, but the good news is that you CAN get unlimited talk/text/web 500MB for $45 a month once you switch from a daily plan to a monthly plan.
If you buy another $70 Verizon card, add it to your account, and switch to the $45 Basic Phone Monthly Plan, there will be $25 left in your account to apply toward next month's fee.

  • IPhone Receiving BLANK SMSs. They are dated 1 Jan 1970/9.

I used to have the 2G iPhone and I often received blank SMS dated 1 Jan 1970 or 31 Dec 1969.
Of course, like anyone else would, I naturally assumed this was a long gone family member trying to reach me from the other side.
Time went on and I upgraded with a new sim and a 3G iPhone.
To cut a long story short, I still receive BLANK SMSs.
I see one other post on this topic but that guy seems to know that his SMSs come from a different network. I do not have that issue.
Strange though that as it is, I constantly receive these, at least one a week and have done now for over a year.
Anyone know why this might be?

I'll check with them, but like Ive said this has been across two sim cards and two different iphones. And no one else I know has had this problem.
I sthere anyway for me to add a screen shot in here to show everyone?

  • Blank Imessage Conversation

I have an Iphone 4 and my friend has an Iphone 4S. I sent her a message, and then deleted the conversation. It later created a blank conversation between us, does this mean she read it or was typing to respond or did i not get her message for some reason?

This happened to me as well. I received an imessage with no text and no air bubble and just the contact name at the top/  Since there is no was to send/get a blank SMS, i believe this is an imessage issue. • IPhone SMS Flaw - Check logs

Yesterday, I received an SMS with a blank 'bubble' and took no notice of it, as the number did not appear to be a contact, I assumed someone had mis-sent it and deleted the SMS and the number it came from.
Today, I read about the SMS flaw that has been exposed with the iPhone and it has me a little concerned, considering I received a 'blank' SMS.
Can anyone tell me how to extract or view the logs on my iPhone so I can trace back & find the number that the SMS was initiated from?

Not knowing enough about the SMS flaw, it makes it difficult to diagnose whether or not the phone should remain off or not. But from what I have read I can guess at two things.
    1) If the TXT message is meant to act as a hook into the OS, then keeping it on your phone will allow the hack to work. So in this case deleting the offending TXT before the hijack can work seems like a first stage.
    2) If the TXT is just used to identify the phone as being an iPhone based on how it responds to the message, then keeping it off might be the only solution.
From the sound of the news report, it was mentioned that it would be possible to take over all the iPhones in the world, not sure if this is scare mongering or not, but it does not look good. If that's the case it means that this hack could be used to find the iPhones and log the response against the IMEI number. In either case, without further information all we are doing is working in the dark. I think that it was highly irresponsible to release this to the media, but then again, if Apple have known about this for a month, then I guess it is also highly irresponsible for Apple to have ignored it and hoped that it would just go away, till there next update.
What could also be far more scary, is that if a hacker gets access to the iPhone, it would not take too much to locate a person, using the various technologies in the phone, such as GPS. Link this to the IMEI number and address book in the phone, and you can start to see why I find this exploit far more scary than just hijacking for free internet surfing.
Worse case is not worth thinking about, but at best we might all need to turn them to Airline mode, till Apple sort it out. ie. turn our 'iPhones' into an 'iPod Touch'.

  • HTTP sender adapter's response

    Hi All,
I have configured a HTTP to Proxy Scenario, in which when a SMS is received by CAD application, the application extracts data from SMS and convert it into url and hit XI server using POST method.
When CAD team tries to hit XI server using the url, it is getting blank screen and the Acknowledgement sent back to user as SMS which is also blank.
Since this application is not able to send payload to XI server, we have used a ABAP module to convert plain text paramaters to XML payload following the link http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/13639. [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken]
Now Our requirment is that when CAD receives SMS as a request which is then sent to XI, a SMS should be sent back to user as Acknowlegment and not a blank SMS.
How can we configure response scenario for this.
    Regards,
    Sachi

    Hi Amair,
As Bhavesh suggested i also dont see a way you can do this unless by making the interface Synchronous. If you do so then it becomes so simple and u will not require any work arounds.

  • E71 - Problem with multiple recipients selection i...

I can see and mark all contacts on my contact list while in "To" when creating a new text message. However the "OK" button is missing on the left lower corner of the screen while "Back", on the right, is active. I can type in recipients, though this is tedious when I need to select multiple recipients.
Further probing brought up another problem - I can see all my contacts on my phone but cannot find the contact folder nor can I backup my contacts.
Please help ASAP. Thanks & Regards,
    Cocoabean

When I add contacts to a blank SMS on my E73, I see a list of people with tick boxes to the left, and OK and Back options at the bottom.  I don't need to select anything to make OK and Back selectable.  If OK is missing for you, then I'm afraid you found a firmware bug.   You could try fixing it with a hard reset or by reflashing the firmware.  As a workaround, you can probably shift-select multiple contacts within the Contacts app, then choose Options -> Create Message.

The actual contacts file(s) are stored somewhere in C:\Private and not meant to be accessed.  (Private is read-only and usually not viewable at all.)  How are you doing the backup?  There are several different ways.  I typically just use Ovi Suite.

  • E51 got possesed - a january 2010 story

In december 2008 I bought an E51. The old application for nokia phones permited the user to start calls from the computer. I needed that when my E51 gone crazy and i had to keep the kaypad blocked all the time. Why ? Because the phone got possesed or something, starting to call the 1st person in the phonebook or sending blank sms to that person. If I was called by someone, I could talk  few seconds only, because the calling got on hold and back every 1-2 seconds. The only way i could talk was during the 1st half hour after formating the phone using the tools on nokia website. After maximum 30-40 minutes, the phone acted crazy . And I forgot to tell you that the left side of the keypad got blocked  7-8 hours before starting to act crazy. Not a single key worked. And the only way I could make a call was using the old software from Nokia.
I took the phone back to orange dealer and they fixed it. But than i got another problem with it : the phone began to freeze when i was called and stayed like that till i removed the battery. Orange dealer couldn`t fix this. And several months later the phone died for good. Orange dealer said is the motherboard of the phone and they cannot fix it, neither change it with a new one. They never gave me the Nokia Guarantee when I first purchased the phone, so I had nothing else to do. Total loss for me.
Anybody else experienced such behavior with E51 or other phone ?

Dax, if you are in an EU or EEA country and bout the phone from Orange in one of those countries, then you'll have the European Limited warranty which lasts two years, so you still have a little time left to get to a Nokia service point and make a claim to have the phone fixed under the manufacturer's warranty.
Orange are not relevant here, most operators won't change a phone beyond about six months from the date of purchase (except in france where the seller of a product is legally responsible for maintaining it in working condition for 12 months). Don't confuse Orange with Nokia, Orange sold you the phone and their responsibility is according to their rôle as the retaile. Nokia as the manufacturer gives European customers a 2-year warranty which must be accessed via Nokia's service network, not Orange's.
Check the Nokia web site for your country, follow the Support link then look for advice in getting a phone repaired - and do it wuickly before your warranty expires next month. You are likely to need a proof of purchase to claim on the warranty, especially as it is so close to the end because many phoens sit on shelves in warehouses or shops for some time between leaving the factory and being sold the the customer; if you don't still have that ask Orange for a copy - the must have records of their sales.

  • IPhone opens applications without me touching anything...help

My iphone is less than 2 months old and has some serious issues
Mainly, when I switch it on it takes on a life of it's own
It is as though an invisible set of fingers is punching my screen as various applications open/close randomly...it even rings people on it's own, sends blank sms messages, opens the calendar and flicks through it
    Any clues?

    Sounds like it needs service.

  • Blank lines at the end of SMS - iOS 4

I've recently upgraded to the iPhone 4 from a 3G and messaging is so much faster, but for some reason occasionally when I send or receive an SMS there is a blank space at the bottom of the message, as if there's a carriage return there. This happens for both messages I send and receive, about every fifth message or so, and seems to be random.
Anyone else noticed this? I've not had this issue before iOS 4 and although it isn't causing any problems with actually sending and receiving messages, it's quite annoying!

String#trim() removes all whitespace from both ends of the String.
The requirement was to remove line breaks from the end of the String only.
String#replaceAll with a suitable regex would do the trick. Untested regex for this:text.replaceAll("[\\n\\r]+$", "")db

  • SMS from Yahoo & MSN Live arrive blank

The subject line about says it all. I was really hoping for Yahoo IM support for messaging, but until that gets fixed or I give up an buy an app, I was going to use Yahoo & MSN forwarding to SMS. It worked great on my MotoQ with Verizon...
SMS messages from both carriers arrive blank on my Palm Pixi Plus. Can anybody verify that as a bug for me and/or provide a workaround?
    Thanks.

No I can't. Please see my post here, as there is no option to add Yahoo available on either my wife's Pre or my Pixi (Version 1.3.5.1, Config Verizon 1.1) that we just acquired through Verizon. I've already tried the fixes that you specifically recommended to Sprint users on other threads. They have had no impact on my phone.
To clarify, both MSN Live and Yahoo IM have options to send all IM messages to a cell # when you log out on your PC. This worked great on my MotoQ. When an SMS arrives from either of those services on our Palm devices, there is only the 'sent from' number and no text in the body.
To test this yourself, both platforms have an option to send a message to an mobile number. I encourage you to test this or private message me to arrange a test. If you want pictures of phone displays I can provide those.
