Blank value added to dropdown list in Adobe Interactive forms

Hi,
I see blank value being added to the value list by default to dropdown lists in adobe interactive forms. The real issue is it's being added sometimes as the first value or last value in the drop down list of values which is inconsistent and resulting in Errors sometimes.
Is there a way by which we can control the position of the blank value added by default(SAP or Adobe) to the drop down lists in adobe interactive forms .? Secondly , Is this a SAP or Adobe upgrade issue since we observed this issue only after recent upgrades ...?
I am using HCM processes and forms and I am not adding blank value (space) explicitly in my coding of dropdown list values .

Hi Sankeerth,
The Web Dynpro framework generates a blank entry to the value set of the dropdown listbox if the Context attribute bound to the dropdown listbox is "nullable" (see properties of the Context attribute).
The dropdown listboxes of interactive forms will be populated with exactly the same data (value sets) as the "native" Web Dynpro dropdown lisboxes.
For SAP NetWeaver 7 EhP2, there's a Web Dynpro test application (WDR_TEST_ADOBE_ZCI) available, which demonstrates this: Start it and see the dropdown listboxes labeled "Datatype" and "Datatype (nullable)": Both are bound to Context attributes which are of type DATATYPE_D. The only difference is that one of the attributes is "nullable". The dropdown listbox bound to the nullable attribute contains the additional blank entry.
Watch the native Web Dynpro dropdown listboxes below the interactive form: They are bound to the same Context attributes and contain the same value sets as the dropdown listboxes of the interactive form!

For the form buttons to work on-line in your WebDynpro app, you need to change the PDF form to be Dynamic:

In this code segment, "InteractiveForm" is the UI id.
I was able to get that far, but I although I add subforms dynamically via javascript, the mapped WebDynpro context node doesn't pick up any new elements.
ie: if I start with two WD context elements (0..n) cardinality, then add a third via the form JavaScipt button, I see changes only in the two context elements when I submit. A third context element isn't created or populated.

Issue with Blank Value selection in Dropdown List

Hello Experts,
                    I am facing one strange issue in Adobe Forms Drop Down(DD) list. Foll. is the list data which contains a several item data & blank value. After item data selection user must be able to select blank value in case he doesn't want to set the value to Order Unit as shown in screen shot below.
                              Now my issue is after any of the item values selection (for ex. BAG - BAG) user is not able to set the blank value again at my client system. However its working fine in mine. When checked client is using Adobe Reader 8.0 which is same as mine.

               Thanks for the reply. We have a blank value in the DD as a list item, where key & description is empty space. As i posted above user must be able to select that blank item if doesn't want any value for Order Unit. This selection is working fine in my sytem, but my client facing the issue where he can not select the blank value from DD.

Populating values in a dropdown field on the interactive form using WD ABAP

Hi All,
I want to populate values in a dropdown field( of cardinality 0:n ) on interactive form,The values which i want to populate is from a 'z' table which i have created.I used a select query to fetch the entries but on my interactive form the values are flowing in many rows and not in the drop down.I want all the values to be in the dropdown.The dropdown is not showin even one value under it.I am using webdynpro abap and controls from webdynpro native.Can anyone guide me on this with a step by step procedure.

You mean in PFR of controller , ie after user selects a record from LOV window and after its populated back into to the textItem on the main entry form ??
The value is displayed correctly in the intended textItem which has viewInstance and viewValue attached to it .
so this is what setup looks like
Entry form
Customer Name - lov
Customer Number(d) - Display Only - Populated by Lovmappings from LOV - mapped to Customer Number attribute on LOV window. It also has viewInstance and ViewAttrib assigned to it .
Save Action
At this point of time , i am assuming i already have value in Customer Number(d)since its displayed on the screen,rite ??
or Do i have to take the value in formValue and then explicitly do a setAttribute to set that value to view object /Customer Number(d)

Are you using LiveCycle Designer or Acrobat to create the form? This forum is for forms created with Acrobat, and dropdowns in Acrobat do not behave the way you want.

Closing a Enumerated DropDown List in Adobe form

I have an adobe form where we used Enumerated Drop down Lists for search helps. The problem is right now we dont have option to close the Enumerated DropDown List. It closes when we select a value or sometimes if we try "ESC" key. But we want to have a "Close"/"X" button like in normal search help.
Letme know if there is any solution or an Alternate way to close the Enumerated Drop Down List from Adobe Form by just hitting a close/X button. Each value help has over 500 values, so we cannot use normal dropdowns, letme know if any other suggestions.

Read values from Adobe Interactive Form inside the webdynpro

I have problems to read the values of the fields inside de adobe. I read an article on saptechincal that told:
You can see the Adobe form that we have designed, enter the data as shown below and press the submit button. (As I said earlier an activex control will be installed on to the client machine, you can see the activex control in the internet explore go to the menu: ToolsàInternet optionsàgo to the programs tab àPress button Manage add-ons.
You can see an activex control named u2018SAP ACFu2019, if you donu2019t have this control you will not see this page: Note you need to have adobe acrobat reader 7.1 installed, I have used version 9, the activex control was not working properly so down graded my adobe reader to 7.1)
This is true ??? I have the Acrobat reader 9.3 and i saw that also have the SAP ACF installed.
The value of the property displaytype on adobe interactive form on webdynpro is activeX or native.

I change the value of the attribute but again i can read anything from the adobe form. So let me explain what i'm doing.

Objective: I have to create one webdynpro with an adobe interactive form for create new clients on r/3 system.

1. I create de the view with 2 elements an interactive form and one submit button.

2. Create the context of the view with the following tree:

> context (node)

 > ADOBE_DATA (node)

 > Clients (from KNA1 table) (node)

 > KUNNR

 > LAND1

 > NAME1

 > ORTO1

 > TELF1

>PDF_SOURCE

3. Complementing the properties of the interactive form:
datasource = clients node of the context
displaytype = native
pdf_source = pdf_source attribute of the context
templatesource = name of the form

4. Create the form, and add the data source to the interface of the form

5. On the form bulider i add and subform on the hierarchy tab and the all the fields of the interface to the form and
automatically the value of the fields are binding.

6.Add a submit button from web dynpro native and add the event click to the button. Then i change the value of the layout type and save e activate the form and the interface

7. The next step is create an action for the button submit for the event "onSubmit". So i create the function and start coding this code:

DATA: adobe_node TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_node,

 client_node TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_node,

 client_element TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_element,

 client TYPE if_create_client=>element_clients.

*Get reference to the adobe_data node from the context

adobe_node = wd_context->get_child_node( name = wd_this->wdctx_adobe_data ).

*Get reference to the clients node from the context

client_node = adobe_node->get_child_node( name = wd_this->wdctx_clients ).

*Get element node

client_element = client_node->get_element( ).

*Get the values from the form

client_element->get_static_attributes(

 IMPORTING

 static_attributes = client ).

8. Then for finalize i add the view to the window and crate a web dynpro application and put one break point on the submit function event.

9. Activate and test the application and when the program try to add a reference to the element node always returning a null reference and the application dumped.

So please help with this situation i can't understand what is the mistake.

PS: Now i have installed the acrobat reader 7.0.8

Events Definition in Adobe Interactive Form

I have a requirement to define a Button and handle the appropiate action in my BADI.
I found out the appropiate BADI's method(SCENARIO_PROCESS_USER_COMMAND).I can include my coding here based on the USER COMMAND value.
Now, I would like the define the Function code Value(User Command Value) for my button in my Adobe Interactive Form.
Can anyone let us know how this can be done?

I Created context like ROOT(cardinality 1:1)->DATANODE cardinality 0:n. This context is for drop down and in wddoinit i did like this.

My requirement, is to use dynamic drop down in dynamic table. I am using webdynpro abap.
i populated the value in drop down.
Its working fine but the problem is how to fill the default value in drop down. because i want to bind the default value which im getting specify value from the table.because each row
im getting different values, like first row
CAR
, that CAR want to fill as a default value in drop down and second row as
BIKE
that BIKE want to fill as default value in drop down ( example drop down contain car , bike , cycle).
In adobe form i binded like this
$record.DATANODE.DATA[*].DNA_RATING
i dont know whether this one is correct or wrong .
im getting default value as empty.
please give me some solution how to do this.its very urgent

Split Values in a dropdown list

Hi friends
i am stuck with a problem for which i need your help.i will list it out as below.
i am having a dropdown in my jsp page a ComboBox. The values in the dropdown are in the form
After 10 minutes
After 20 minutes
After 30 minutes
Before 5 minutes
Now when the user selects a value in the dropdown list ex. After 10 minutes. This value needs to be fetched and i have to retrive 10 & minutes seperately from the string "After 10 minutes" and the values should go into two different colums of 2 tables in the database.
I cannot use a DTO to set these values since the values will be combination pair of value & timetype.
What should be my approach here.
should i use a Hashmap or a Hashtable or some list so that i can send these values from the Action class to the Session Bean method.
please let me know what needs to be done in this case.waiting for a positive reply from your side.

Create your own object which can store the different values and override the toString() method to display "After 10 Minutes" etc.
i.e.
private class MyClass {

      return "After " + unit + " " + measurement;
}Then you can create a custom ComboBoxModel that contains your list of custom objects. Then it's a simple case of adding an ActionListener to the ComboBox to see which object the User has selected so you can then use the getter methods to pull the info you need and populate your table.

Passing values to the dropdown in Adobe Interactive form

Can you please provide some inputs for the below mentioned points.
I have created a webdynpro application and placed an interactive form.
1. I have 2 dropdown fields in the interactive form..say Country and State. How can i show the all countries available in SAP system in the Country dropdown.(like standard dropdown)
2. How can i dynamically show the States of selected country in the dropdown of State.
3. I need to validate the mandatory fields on the form on click of Submit button kept on the form. But, giving Value Type "User entered...required" is not working. how to validate in another way. Should we write validation script for all individual fields.
4. How to place a web link on the interactive form. When user clicks on this link, we should navigate to that particular link.

I'll try to answer your questions one by one. Any comments and feedback are welcome.
1.- I assume that you have created a Model, a Service Controller and binded the data to your view.
At this point, you need to bind the property datasource of your interactive form to a node in your context hierarchy.
This data will be available at the form Data View Palette.
Then you have to edit your form, drag a Drop Down List to the form and in the Fields Tab of the Object Palette you need
to bind the List Items property. Just click the link and in the "Dynamic Properties" window, choose the table root node for Items, and the Text and Value atributes for Text and value properties respectively.
After that, in the binding tab, you will have to do the "default binding", and bind the values clicking on "Specify Item Values".

Where is this example spreadsheet? Without seeing it I can only guess at what you are asking.
To make a drop-down list (a pop-up menu in Numbers-speak), format the cell as a pop-up then edit and add to the list of items.
If the example spreadsheet is pulling in a dollar value based on what car you chose in the pop-up, it is probably using LOOKUP or one of the other lookup functions, getting the information from another table (a lookup table). If, instead, these dollar values are what you are choosing in the pop-up, then you need to create a pop-up with these values in it.
The Help menu includes a link to a page where you can download the Numbers Users Manual. It also has a link to the Formulas and Functions guide. Both are useful to new users.

How to read the selected value of a dropdown list box

I have 2 custom fields which are of type dropdown list on Accounts(CRMM_ACCOUNT) PCUI application details tab.I need to read the selected value of first dropdown list item,based on that second dropdown list will be populated.
I know where to populate the dropdown list box,it is in FILL_DROPDOWN_LISTBOX.
I dont know how to trap the selection made on dropdown list.
PLease guide me on how to trap the dropdown list field selection value.

Hello,
Check what is done in standard for the fielf REGION which is inked to the country.
Otherwise, you can do the following :
- in field group customizing, for field 1, flag the 'send request' flag. So, when you change the value in this field via the dropdown, the MAC methods are immediately called.
- Put the new value in a global variable (GV).
- in the fill_dropdown_listbox method, get the value from this GV and based on it, filter the values for the dropdown of field 2.

I would like to create a dropdown list in a pdf form without entering each value manually.

The data is huge and contains a a lot of product code numbers. It is extracted from our SAP system and I would like to either use an xml or excel file to create the dropdown list in the pdf form. I use Adobe Acrobat X.

This can be done with a script. XML files are more complex but Excel files, converted to a plain-text format, can be imported and then used to set the items list of a drop-down using the setItems() method.
