BLINKING LIGHT BUT NO TV

I have an apple tv box.  It has been sest up, but now it says it is not connected.  The light on the apple tv box is blinking, the apple logo is on the tv, but nothing is happening.

If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
    1.    Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
    2.    Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
    3.    Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
    4.    Open iTunes.
    5.    Select your Apple TV in the Source list, and then click Restore.

  • 3 blinking lights,but I changed ram

and my mac still wont boot up. It keeps giving me the three blinking lights (which supposedly means incompatable ram). My ram had been in there for a couple years at least. So I took them out and re-installed them in one pair increments. Still got the problem, so I bought new ram and it still has the problem. So it seems to think that the ram is bad. anyone else experience this? Oh, right before it happened, my fans ran light a jet plane.

    Same here
Added 2x 1GB ram and now the most inner slots are permanent void (with banks inserted)
AHT reports error post/0/2048 and NVRAM reset does not fix situation.
I've tried all possible permutations with or without new ram,
    with or without old ram,
with 2,4,6,8 strips per time (my fingers are boiled)
the config is (internal from external slots):
2x 512MB (original Apple present but not recognized)
    2x 512MB (S3+, 4 years works perfect)
    2x 1024MB (Kingston, 3 years works perfect)
    2x 1024MB (Kingston VR, new)
    Total of 5GB ram
Since I've moved the originals ones, the most inner slots are missed.
All banks of ram seems to be good in others positions.
I hope in a firmware error.
I don't want to think about slot damage.

  • 7970 Blinking lights, but that's all

Greetings. I work out of a Help Desk that supports about 40 VOIPs. I've just found five bad 7970 phones on a shelf. (I think the goal was for them to heal themselves.) (But they never got the memo.)
What's odd is that all five phones have the same symptoms:
    After plugging them in:
    • Speaker light at bottom right goes green.
    • Soon, top two buttons at upper right flash amber in sequence from top to bottom, then continue down in sequence, but change to green.
During above sequence, speaker light goes off and headset light turns green.
    • Lights at right continue to flash in sequence from top to bottom, always green.
    • The display never illuminates.
It seems unlikely that we have five phones afflicted by a similar manufacturing defect, so think the problem is caused by, and fixable through, software or configuration.
I've looked through all the forum posts going back to 2007, but found nothing.
Hope someone has some insight on this, and thanks for your interest.

No it's not fixable you want to sell the lot to me for $200 :)
Jokes apart, it'sfixable, connect the phones to a PC with TFTP32 installed, download the FW (any version) for 7970 from CCO and put in the TFTP32 directory. In TFTP32, set optiopn 150 to be same PC address.
As you run the SW you will see the phones DHCP, then FTFP for term70.default.loads etc ..

  • Blinking lights but not coming on

    Laptop, about a year old
Was working great, have not used it in over a week and was plugged in the
    entire time.
Went to turn it on last night and NOTHING
Two lights on panel are blinking faintly:  power and Battery.    What is
    most likely the problem?

Then the power control circuitry on the system board has likely failed.  Time to get it diagnosed/repaired by a Toshiba Authorized Service Provider (ASP).  Find one from the list at http://pcrepair.toshiba.com
If the system is not still under warranty, be sure to get an estimate for the repair, as it may be more than the cost of a new notebook.

  • Linksys Network Everywhere Model NH1005 - Network Cable Unplugged / Blinking Lights

I just replaced a computer on our network.  I connected the network cable to Port 2 on the hub, and it blinks.  I switched ports to make sure it wasn't a bad port, but continue to get the blinking lights.  On the computer, it's telling me the network cable is unplugged.
    Any ideas?

Make sure you are using a patch cable and not a crossover, the easiest way to tell is to compare the ends of the cable side by side and make sure the colors are in the same order.

  • Stop the sleep blinking light in lenovo g-470, whining sound from the power adapter , HEEEEEELP !!!

Hi, hope anyone can help me.
I own a lenovo b560 and a g470, the sleep light will blink when I go to sleeping mode, anyway the problem is not the light, the problem is the whining sound it produces the power adapter when the light start blinking, in both machines I hear that whining noise, but in the g470 is much louder, I don´t know if this is because I have a faulty adapter or something, the strange thing is that both adapters make the noise when I sleep the laptop, when I turn off or hibernate the whining sound disappear.
Also, I notice that the whining sound alternate in 2 types of sounds, one is high in pitch and the other lower, the high pitch is when the blinking light turn on when go to sleep and the lower pitch of the sound is when the light go off, and that is repeating until I resume the laptop, it´s very annoying, especially when I´m in a quiet room.
So my theory is that maybe somehow I can turn off the blinking light when the laptop goes to sleep and then maybe the whining sound will go away, but I don´t know, it´s only an a idea.
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks !

red blinking light as well as trailing black broken black line going on left side that goes in a square trail

Did you ever fix this? My daughters is the same. Treated with tender loving care, we reset to factory and it disappeared but was back again after 2 or 3 days. Still in warranty so going to take to the genius bar, however a bit concerned that because it belongs to an 11 year old they are going to assume she's damaged it.

  • Fast blinking light! What does it mean?

The other day I shut down my computer. (Intel iMac matte screen, 10.4.11) Later, when I pushed the restart button, I failed to get a bong & the sleep light started blinking rapidly & bright. For a number of times I held down the restart button to get it to shut down, & then pressed it again to restart...same blinking light. (I've never seen this behavior before) I managed to finally get it to restart by double clicking on the restart button, but I don't even know why I tried that.
    Anyone know what's up?
    Bob

    Hi Bob
That sounds like a ram problem!

Perhaps one of your modules has dislodged and need to be reseated, or is failing.
    1. Try reinstalling-reseating both modules, firmly pushing on each one with both thumbs then close the ejector clips.
    2. Then if it still acts funny, try installing one module at a time.

  • What is this code mean, ( 14 slow blinking lights and 5 fast blinking lights) mean

need to know what this means please, 14 slow blinking lights and 5 fast blinking lights) mean

thank you thank you for taking an interest. this is so frustrating.
i only have apple keyboard, mighty mouse, and 20 inch cinema display connected. this morning took out memory and tried to boot up with individual pairs in the first bank. first the (2)256, the (2) 1g, and then the other (2) 1g modules. everytime I get the weird fuzzy wheel under the logo after a while, black screen flashes, then grey apple logo fuzzy screen then black forever.
I ran tiger updates this morn. still will only boot to safe mode. then tried to run leopard disk to install it
will not boot from leopard disk.
tried safe boot, then doulble click install leopard, restart, then the saga repeats with the pixely red square around the wheel.
these are fresh drives with only what came on instll disk loaded.
thanks again for taking an interest.
i love this system(well at least i did). I want to install leopard on my powerbook too but am terrified to do so right now since it is working and I have work to do. Can't afford to have no computer to do my work on...self employment is great?!
This is making me crazy. I anxiously await your words of wisdom.

Hmm... I forwarded the information on the the webmaster and will forward it elsewhere as well.  In the meantime, a carriage slamming to the left would generally indicate an issue with the encoder strip, try cleaning it as shown here.  If the strip is broken or damaged it will need to be replaced.

  • Not being seen either - no blinking lights

My iPod Shuffle has worked flawlessly until yesterday unti I plugged it into my USB port and nothing happened. No blinking lights, and iTunes won't open. I have reset the shuffle and nothing happens. I plug it into other USB ports and still nothing happens. I cannot update or restore my software because despite my shuffle being plugged in, the iPod updater tells me to "Plug in an iPod to update it".
Unplugged from the computer, the Shuffle works fine although the battery is getting low which is why I plugged it in to my computer in the first place.
Nothing shows up on my desktop either. According to System Profiler it's there, plugged into the USB port. Nothing shows up on my desktop.
Would somebody please help me figure out how I can get my shuffle to work?? Thanks.

  • 13" MBP died. Only a black blank screen and blinking lights are visible. Any ideas??

My friends MBP died the other night.  He put it on sleep mode one night and the following morning, and when he went to turn it on the following morning it would't.  Only a black blank screen and blinking lights.  There is no sound or anything.  BTW it is a mid-2010 MBP, no added hardware, everything stock. It wasn't custom configured, and I believe he upgraded to Lion earlier this year.  I read somewhere that depending how quickly the lights are blinking could indicate a specific problem.  Is this true? He is planning on taking it an Apple store, but figured we would try here first since it is a bit of a drive, and the warranty has expired. Any help would be greatly appreciated.  We are just trying to get an idea of what we are dealing with. Thank you!

    Looks like hardware problem.
Apple can fix it. Take it to Apple as soon as possible.

What does the message say?  It might be something as simple as a notice that an update is available for  your device.
