Block and cancel PO
Hello,
Could you please explain the gifference between block (lock) and cancel (bin).
What is the difference in use?
Regards
Mark
hi
block is a short term solution to prevent any follow-on function like goods receipt and invoice receipt until the block is released.
the block may be set if the price is not yet finally negotiated, but order had to be placed.
a block will prevent the document from beeing closed. you will never be able to archive a document that has a block, as SAP allows only to archive closed business cases.
Deletion indicator is to tell the vendor that you do not want this item anymore (if you had already send the order) and as well to mark the item for a future archiving (e.g. to logically close the business case for this item).

Printing Blocks and Bands of Color
Two PC's (2000 & XP), an Officejet 7310 and a TV are connected to a wired ethernet router. Both PC's have been configured to use this printer as their default. It's the only printer connected right now.
This printer had no software disk when I found it. I got the latest drivers from the HP website in the form of "exe" files. The full featured driver failed to install properly on both PCs. I uninstalled that and installed the basic driver on the XP machine first, then on the 2000 PC. On the XP PC the installer failed to create a printer, and as I remember, never asked me any information about drivers or ports to use. I had to use the Add Printer Wizard to create a printer for it on the XP PC. The installer failed to create a printer on the 2000 PC also. The Add Printer Wizard could not find the printer until I marked the printer "shared" on the XP PC. Is that normal?
NOTE: When I tried to install the "full featured" driver software on the 2000 PC there was a warning that my hardware was below the minimum "recommended" level, but according to the HP website, I am well above the "recommended" level. (It is Compaq Deskpro, PentiumIII, 375MB RAM, 2GB free space) No such warning appeared when I installed the "Basic" driver software.
When I attempt to check ink levels with the HP Toolbox on both PC's I get the following error:
"The computer is unable to establish two-way communication with the device."
I uninstalled the printer on the Win2000 PC so that I could record my steps exactly, and I also marked it "Do not share" on the XP PC because this should work (on the 2000 PC) with the XP PC shut down.
Please verify I did this properly: Here's how I recreated the printer in Windows 2000:
Started "Add Printer Wizard" => Next => select "Network Printer" + Next => Next (to browse for a printer) => (none were found) Back => select "Connect to a printer on the Internet or on your Intranet" + enter URL "192.168.0.101" + Next => "Error: could not connect to the printer" + OK => Back => select "Local Printer" + Next => select "Create new port" + "Type: Local port" + Next => Enter port name: "Local TCP" + OK => Manufacturers: "HP" + Printers: "HP Officejet" + Next => (keep existing driver) Next => Printer name: "HP Officejet 7310 on Local TCPIP" + select "Yes" (default) + Next => (do not share) Next => (Yes - print test page) Next => Finish.
No test page is printed.
Then I opened the Properties for the new printer => select "Ports" tab => Add Port... => select "Standard TCP/IP Port" + New Port... => the "Add Standard TCP/IP Printer Port Wizard" opens => Next => enter IP address "192.168.0.101" + Port name: "Local TCPIP" + Next => (some info, eg. "Protocol: RAW, Port 9100", Adapter type: "Hewlett Packard Jet Direct" {somehow it knew this time}) Finish => Close (Printer Ports dialog) => (new port appears with box checked) Apply => (printer name appears beside new port) => select "General" tab => (features: Color: "No") select "Advanced" tab => Printing Defaults... (it's a very simplistic driver) => Advanced... => (no options to control color) Cancel => Cancel => (Driver: "HP Officejet") select "HP Officejet 7300 series" in driver drop-down list + Apply => Select "General" tab => (Features: Color: "Yes") Print Test Page => (the windows logo is printed in color, but the text below says "Color support: No") select "Advanced" tab => Printing Defaults... => (sophisticated driver appears) select "Color" tab => remove check from "Print in grayscale" + OK => select "General" tab => Print Test Page => (test page looks good, says I now have color support) OK.
But still I get color blocks and bands on some pages when printing from Word, and I think on all AutoCAD plots when plotting through the system printer (which will have to be setup again in the Plotter Manager).
I also still get the same error trying to check ink levels.
What am I doing wrong? Shouldn't the installer have created the printer with all parameters properly set?HPPSdr.exe says "Everything checks out okay with your product." The test page prints OK.
I also found the HP Hardware Diagnostic Utility 4.1, and it says "We're sorry, but the HP Officejet 7300 series is not currently supported by this utility."
The problem seems to be getting more prevalent and more extreme, sometimes printing solid black, off the edge of the page too, with some blocks of color mixed in. This is occuring from two computers (Compaq and Dell) with different operating systems (2000 and XP) and different versions of Microsoft Word (2000 and 2003).

BT Infinity Change of Address Order Blocked and Lo...
I have just moved house, and I placed an order to move my services, including BT Infinity, to the new address about a week before.
A couple of days later, BT called me and said that the engineer could not attend on the 8th August, but would attend on the 12th August, and I was happy with that.
However on 12th August, the engineer did not show up. When I called BT, they said the order was blocked in "pending" status, and had not been processed. I called BT several more times and was on the phone for at least an hour each time, passed from pillar to post and back again, and/or to vaguely fictional sounding escalation departments or other teams.
One person told me my order was blocked and needed to be cancelled. Another person told me my order had already been cancelled but not correctly.
The last information I was given was that they had to email my problem to yet another special department who would get back to me "within a few days".
I would wait a few more days, but I remember getting stuck in this exact same loop with a house move about 6 or 7 years ago, and it took weeks and many more phone calls before I got any broadband. My experience with BT is that if everything works smoothly and goes through first time, it is all very good. However, as soon as there is any small problem with an order, it turns into a big disaster and you can't find anyone who can fix it.
Can anyone give any advice about how I can get through to the right people who can sort this out? Also, I've heard that writing a letter to the Managing Director of BT sometimes helps - does anyone have the correct address?
(If I've posted this to the wrong section, please advise which section it should go in).
cheers and thanks in advance for any help.
Patrick Warner. All, just to give a happy ending to this story, the BT enginner has turned up today and has got the Infininty working for me, so at least on the 3rd attempt I have now got a good service.
In fact the engineer who turned up did a great job and was able to get the modem working where I wanted it to be, even though the internal wiring seemed to be messed up and he had to spend over an hour trying to figure out how to get it working. It was a new house that I had just moved into and was not familiar with the setup of sockets, or which one was wired as master, and it appeared that a previous owner had been messing with things and using non standard approach.
Unfortunately I fear that because of that, someone else may miss their appointment later, as he was here for over 2 hours in total. I guess that's why sometimes they don't show up, if a previous job took longer than expected.
The only issue I have now is that the phone socket in the room where Sky needs to be installed does not work, but it may be that it never worked in the first place. BT guy told me that we would need to wire it to orange pair to get it to work, assuming the cable is not compromised. I have posted a separate message under "Phones" asking for advice on that.
thanks

Release Invoice Price Block and Quantity Block
Hi,
How can I release the Invoice Price and Quantity block at the same time? I need to create a Step in a work flow to release all blocks of a two-way match block invoice.
I've already tried to have a BDC for transaction MRBR but it is not working.
Can anyone help?Hi Simi,
This type of behaviour is documented in SAP note 394370:
"A document generated with MIRO was blocked for payment. You cancel the
payment block from the vendor line item in the FI follow-up
document.Transaction MRBR then displays the invoice document
nevertheless. Why?
The invoice document itself cannot be changed by changes to the
follow-up documents; this is not programmed.Transaction MRBR therefore
continues to display the document as blocked. If this document is
released from an MM point of view, the FI follow-up document remains
released. Thus the damage caused is restricted to unnecessary work by the
user.
SAP recommends that you only use the release transactions for releasing
invoices."
MRBR generates its list of blocked invoices from table RBKP_BLOCKED and is the
only transaction which deletes entries from this table thats why when your report
calls FB02 to remove the payent block MRBR will still show the invoice as blocked.
You could code in a pop up message in your report that prevents the user from
deleting the payment block and to advise using MRBR instead to delete the block.
Hope this helps,
Adam. -
Blocking and non-blocking workflows
How to specify a workflow to be blocking and non-blocking?
Regards,
MiguelWhen registering the custom workflow from Application Server Control (Enterprise Manager Web Site), you will see an option to specify whether the workflow is blocking:

Both blocking and non-blocking io
I'm wondering if this scenario is possible with the new nio classes:
I have a caching server. Clients connect to the server and occasionally send requests for objects. I'd like to use the nio non-blocking APIs to detect that there is a read pending on a socket. However, once I detect this, I'd like to go into a blocking loop to process the request. After this done, I'd like to go back into non-blocking mode and wait for another request.
It seems like this should be possible but the (woefully lacking) documentation isn't clear. Neither is the source code, apparently.
I've got a test case working but I was hoping someone could validate for me that this is support behavior. It's done by waiting for the isReadable() key then calling socket.keyFor(selector).cancel(); and then socket.configureBlocking(true); The reads are then done in blocking mode until the request is done and then the socket is registered with the selector again.
Thanks for any help on this.I have to ask why you would want to mix blocking and non-blocking I/O.
The only reason you would (IMHO) want to use non-blocking I/O is in a highly concurrent system, to increase the maximum load a system can handle.
The main reason you would want to use blocking I/O rather than non-blocking I/O would be to minimise the latency for a single request.
Unfortunately, the two don't seem to mix together very well... by switching a thread to blocking, you decrease the latency for a single request, but increase latency for the other requests due to reduced resources available. Similarly, by switching to blocking, you are requiring a dedicated thread for that request, so limiting the number of concurrent requests that can be serviced.
That is, it seems to me that using both blocking and non-blocking I/O introduces the weaknesses of both into the system, without gaining much of the benefits of either.
The above aside, the method you gave looks like it would work as you expect, depending on what you are doing with thread creation/delegation. Did your test case work as expected? -
I keep putting in my passcode but my iPad won't show the numbers in the blocks and consequently it won't open for me. I have tried double tapping in the numbers and then it shows the numbers in the blocks correctly but then it responds with a wrong code in red and then locks me out.
Typing in the code takes a long time which might indicate a full HD.iOS: Device disabled after entering wrong passcode

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.
Cheers, Tom -
Open and cancelled Quote Report
Hi,
Can anyone give me the information for getting open and cancelled Quote Report?I hope you are using reason for rejection for cancelling quotations. If that is the case, you can use transaction VA25 to view the list of quotations. Here you can filter on two columns status and reason for rejection to view the report as per your requirement.

Hello All,
What is the difference between void and cancelled checks?
Thanks,
DekiA voided cheque is one where the cheque number is marked as void but the payment document still exists. For example if a cheque was torn and you want to assign the payment to a different cheque.
A cancelled cheque is when you did not intend to make that payment so you void the cheque and reversed the payment. -
Code::Blocks and gdb's Debug Attach to process; crash
Hello!
I've just started using Code::Blocks and very happy with it, but there is one problem: say I have a binary file with debugging symbols, then I try to attach to it using Code::Blocks (Debug>Attach to process); when I enter the PID and press "OK" button - IDE crashes.
Here is the stacktrace of codeblocks itself from gdb:

I've just wrote a simple helloworld in C, added getchar() to wait, compiled it with "-g" flag and tried to attach to it with this IDE. Tried on 2 machines, different binaries: same result - IDE crashes. Am I doing something wrong, or this is a problem with WxWidgets/Code::Blocks?
My packages are: wxgtk 2.8.12.1-3, codeblocks 10.05-2 and gdb 7.4-1.
Last edited by dontbugme (2012-04-24 02:19:16)Are you running on an x86_64 architecture? If so I have a pacman Code::Blocks package which is the current SVN I could upload somewhere for you..
If not, check: Here to download and make the latest SVN version. There is a patch you have to apply on that page and also you need to make the build using the makepkg "-fpermissive" option.
Why do you want this SVN version (version 7932)? Well, it's current as of April 14 this month. The C::B 10.05 version is 2010, 5th month. So way out of date. There have been no official builds since then so you want to be using SVN until there is.
I don't know if using the SVN version would fix your issue but even if not: it has a host of other enhancements and fixes. -
Customer invoice doument and cancelled document are showing under openitems
Dear All,
I have created customer invoice in VF01 and cancelled the invoice in VF11.
1.System is showing Invoice document and cancelled document under open items list in FBL5N customer line items.
A. Is this correct?
or
B. When we cancelled the invoice document it should automatically go to cleared items list?
Kindly provide me what is the correct?
Thanks & Regards,
Saisri.Hello,
Once you cancelled the invoice document then you have to clear manually those items in tC: F-32. If you are not cleared then system will show you as open item. After cleared in F-32 then status will change from Open to Close.
Thanks

Infotype needed for firm booking and canceling at PV12 transaction.
Dear All,
I am workflow consultant.I am not well aware of infotype details for the following scenario.
I am now involved in workflow development for SAP HCM training and event management.
When firm booking or cancel booking is done at PV12 transaction, workflow should trigger.
Should workflow trigger on booking or canceling it, I have to maintain infotype details in HR master tables.
So, please state about what is the infotype for firm booking and cancel booking for which I'll be grateful.
Thanks and regards,
S.SureshDear all,
Any one one know where to check for the infotype which is getting affected when firm booking or cancel is made in PV12 transaction?
Please suggest for which I'll be grateful.
Thanks and regards,
