Block incoming calls

how to block incoming calls on iphone

They really need an App .. native or not to block calls. I have tried with my provider and they offer a blocking service .. but only if the caller is advertising thier number. Therfore I can not block unknown or blocked numbers from calling me! These are the ones I really need to block... My wifes phone is one digit off mine .. last night at 3:30am we get called by a blocked number at the same time and of course .. no one on the other end... robocallers should be illegal.
If your in Canada I would suggest filing a complaint to the CRTC on the abuse of unknown/blocked numbers and our inability to block or even report them. I can only file a report if I have a phone number displayed I sent in my complaint this morning to them after finding out Rogers had no way for me to prevent these phone calls.

i recently tried blocking incoming calls that are not in my phone book and the result was that my pin code has been blocked. does any one have an idea of how i should go about it?

That depends which phone he/she is using... this is in the phones section, not the smartphones, so I had assumed that software such as that would not be appropriate lol

  • Blocking incoming calls

Good Afternon. Would someone please explain the 10 phone number limit for blocking incoming calls? I have used Vonage [which has no limit] Optimum on line [100 limit] Time Warner [30 limit and it cleared the list every 90 days] Fios only offers me 10 ? Are you aware of the problem with telemarketers? I don't think so. I'd like Fios to be more proactive in allowing me to defend the peace and quiet of my home, by expanding this area. It's quite pitiful compared to other vendors I have used, and it is the Main reason that I am not renewing my contract with Fios when we are done. Thank you.

*60 (Call Block) is the easiest way to block an incoming caller, however to my understanding only local, landline numbers can be blocked with *60. To use it, simply dial *60 and follow the prompts. But call Verizon first to set up a monthly subscription or you will be charged per use charges which can really add up.
A really great option which I have on my landline phone is called Do Not Disturb. You can make a list of up to 15 phone numbers which are the only people who can get through to you when you have DND turned on. (You can turn it on and off anytime you want through an 800 number.) NO other calls, including telemarketers, "unavailable" numbers, etc. can get through. If you have home voice mail you can choose to send the blocked calls to your voice mail so they can leave a message. Otherwise they will get a recording saying "The party you are calling does not wish to be disturbed at this time." There are also two other rejection messages you can choose.
Also you can choose a 4 digit pin to give to people you want to be able to get through but I have never used that option; I just put them on the "allowed numbers" list.

Contact your carrier & see if they offer call blocking...some do, some don't. There is no other way to block calls on any cell phone.

  • Blocked incoming calls

Recently my wives incoming calls have come up as blocked calls. I can still answer the call no problem. No other phone numbers are coming up as blocked and her number doesn't come up as blocked to anyone else. Anyone know how to fix this?

The callers who are calling the iPhone probably have their numbers blocked so that they do not show on caller ID. I'm not sure if there is anything you can do.

  • Blocked Incoming Calls & Hotmail Issue

First of all, I would like to thank JCG02 for answering my questions; this is my first time to use Iphone and use this communities. Acturally JCG02 was completely right, I should mark it as correct; I thought helpful was more accurate because the answer helped me....thank you very much.
Right now I got some other questions:
    1. I found I got two missed blocked phone; but I did not block any incoming call, how did it happened and how I could remove the blocking function?
    2. I would like to check my emails on my phone, I had two email addresses in the phone, how I manage them, so far, I could not read any emails on my phone yet and how to check different mail box if you have more than two email addresses?
    Thank you very much

it just means someone has decided not to show his/her number when calling you. not much you can do about it. someone has done the same to me..although the number isn't blocked--they just don't say anything (started when I got my new number). contacted ATT and they said they can't block specific numbers so all you can do is answer it or ignore it really. hope an iphone update in the future will allow you to block certain numbers.

  • Silent switch blocks incoming call when toggled

    Hi,
Just got a call in a restaurant, phone rang with all bells and whistles and then quickly set the switch to SILENT on my iphone 6. That call got dropped/blocked whilst it was ringing. So i thought i was called and coincidentally the other end put down the phone. Later on it happened again, so my suspicion was raised there might be something going on with IOS 8.3.
Can someone try this as well? Let someone ring you, and while your phone is ringing. Toggle the SILENT/mute button to ON.

It sounds like you bogged the system down a bit, and saw some "lag."    How many cards did you have open and with each doing what (ie, were any of the sites you were at large pages, lots of graphics, lots of javascript embedded, etc, etc)
Can you re-produce this and if so, what are the exact circumstances?
    Thanks.

  • Blocked incoming call

Hi, I recieved new Iphone 3gs 32mb but having issue in recieving calls. I set the ringtone to any of the ones availble but on recieving a call the screen dispalys " Blocke call" and no ring tone is heard only vibrate is activated. Testing the ring is Ok. Anyone have the same issue.

make sure your silence switch is not turned on... also turn the ringer volume up (while on the springboard just tap the volume up key)
    be well

  • Is there an app to block incoming calls?

like a black list app? Thanks!

No, there is not. You can create a silent ringtone and assign it to numbers you don't want to receive.

  • Need help Creating a translation pattern that adds dial out digits to incoming calls

I came across an article yesterday and it showed the steps how to fix Missed Call/Received Call numbers so that you can dial them from the menu correctly (auto-add a 9, etc.)?
I tried it this morning and came up with this translation pattern:
    voice translation-rule 6
    rule 1 /^201\(.*\)/ /8\1/
    rule 2 /\(..........\)/ /81\1/
    voice translation-profile filter_Incoming
    translate calling 6
This translation pattern rule 1 adds the dial out character 8 and strips 201 for local calls. Rule 2 adds dial out character 8 and adds 1 for long distance.  The purpose of this translation rule is when the ephone receives the phone call the characters 8 and 1 are added so when you quickly need to redial you do not have to edit the number and add 8 for each call.
    I tested the translation-rule:
    ROUTER-2911#test voice translation-rule 6 9082121231
    Matched with rule 2
Original number: 9082121231     Translated number: 819082121231
Original number type: none      Translated number type: none
Original number plan: none      Translated number plan: none
    ROUTER-2911#test voice translation-rule 6 2019121231
    Matched with rule 1
Original number: 2019121231     Translated number: 89121231
Original number type: none      Translated number type: none
Original number plan: none      Translated number plan: none
    ROUTER-2911#
Issue is I am not sure with my inbound call leg if it can even work. We dial out through the SIP Trunk and the incoming is translated to the AutoAttendant on Cisco Unity Express.
    voice translation-rule 1
    rule 1 /2015552100/ /2003/
    voice translation-profile CUE_Voicemail/AutoAttendant
     translate called 1
    dial-peer voice 9 voip
description **Incoming Call from SIP Trunk**
     translation-profile incoming CUE_Voicemail/AutoAttendant
     call-block translation-profile incoming BLOCKED-INCOMING
     call-block disconnect-cause incoming call-reject
     session protocol sipv2
     session target dns:nd01-04.fs.SIPPROVIDER.net
     incoming called-number .%
     voice-class codec 1
     voice-class sip dtmf-relay force rtp-nte
     dtmf-relay rtp-nte
     no vad
Can what I am trying to do be done with my current setup?

    Hi patldmart012,
The dial-peer 9 that you have attached will not be affected by following config
    voice translation-rule 6
    rule 1 /^201\(.*\)/ /8\1/
    rule 2 /\(..........\)/ /81\1/
    voice translation-profile filter_Incoming
    translate calling 6
Because you have not applied the translation profile "filter_incoming" on the dial-peer.
Could you please provide the exact call flow?
Along with that, If you are facing issue with calls on SIP Trunk, please collect following debugs in a logging buffer and attach the file. I will analyse it and will get back to you.
    debug voip ccapi inout
    debug ccsip message
    debug voice translation
    Debug h225 asn1 (If H323 involved)
    Debug h245 asn1 (If H323 involved)
Debug MGCP Packets (If MGCP involved)
Also provide the running config of the GW.
These are verbose debugs, so please collect them in the following manner:
    Router(config)# service sequence
Router(config)# service timestamps debug datetime msec
    Router(config)# logging buffered 30000000 7
    Router(config)# no logging con
    Router(config)# no logging mon
    Router# Clear log
    Router# term no mon
<Enable debugs, then wait for issue to occur.>
    Router# term len 0
<Enable session capture to txt file in terminal program.>
    Router# Undebug all
    Router# sh log
Once i have the logs, i will analyse it and will get back to you.

  • Blocking skype calls from certain parts of the wor...

Hi, i was wondering if it's possible to configure my router or something to block incoming calls from people in the US calling me in europe while still being able to call people from europe to europe?

    Hello,
That's not possible - nor necessary. Just adjust your "privacy" parameters
TIME ZONE - US EASTERN. LOCATION - PHILADELPHIA, PA, USA.
I recommend that you always run the latest Skype version: Windows & Mac
If my advice helped to fix your issue please mark it as a solution to help others.

  • How do get in contact with a specialist on the *67 ( 999-999-9999 ) incoming calls?

I have already blocked the *67 (999-999-9999 calls on the line and they still continue to come thru.  I s there a way to actually block these or not.  I even paid the $4.99 fee for usage controls and they still came thru.  Is there a way to transfer these calls to another line?

Pammeysue, with Usage Controls, you do have the ability to block incoming calls from numbers listed as private, restricted, or unavailable. If you are still receiving private, restricted, or unavailable calls, I recommend to remove the settings and add them back and save. Then try again.
Click this link for additional information: http://support.vzw.com/faqs/Features%20and%20Optional%20Services/usage_controls.html
Additionally, some devices are restricted to have this feature such as the Kin and 4G devices (Thunderbolt).
    Thank you,

  • Block incoming numbers (phone

This is the 21st Century and the iPhone is 1,000,000 times more powerful than computers of 40 years ago.
WHY can I not block incoming calls, ignore them etc? WHY can I not block incoming spam text messages?
I can do this on email and other services. The hardware of the iPhone is totally capable of keeping and obeying a Black List of numbers I enter.
Is there a Reason that Apple refuse to give us this feature? Are they intent on forcing us to accept spam? This makes Apple look really bad.
Are there ANY 3rd party Apps (or Hacks even!) which can do this?
email me if you can't post answers here

Even if you employ a blacklist, the phone would still ring/vibrate once and you'd still have the numbers in your recent calls list.  Blacklisting on the device itself just uses the caller id information to check against the blacklist before dropping the call, so it has to allow the call to initially connect to get the caller id information.
The only way to get a call to not even connect at all is for the carrier to block it at their switches.  AT&T offers this in the USA, for a fee (their parental controls package), and I'm sure any carrier could offer it through a web interface on your account web page, but none seem to be willing to set it up or incur the expense to support it.
You can globally disable not only the ring sound, but also vibrate, but then you will never know when you get a call at all (I have my ring/silent switch set up like that for meetings, so I am not interrupted at all).  The silent ring tone idea (just google for one, there are several hits to download from) in a contact list of those numbers you don't want to answer works too.
If you want the option to dump those numbers directly to voice mail, you can suggest it to Apple - http://www.apple.com/feedback/ and maybe they'll include it in a future iOS release.

  • My iphone has lost it´s tunes and does only vibrate.By incoming calls it shows "blocked"

By incoming calls my iphone dos only vibrate (no tune) and it shows "blocked".How can I get back the tunes?

    Greetings Nefertiti72,
It seems you are experiencing an issue with contact syncing and management. It seems you've removed an email account which contained a number of contacts that are not associated with your iCloud account. I have linked to a knowledge base article which provides more information about iCloud contacts syncing:
Get help using iCloud Contacts - Apple Support
Learn what to do if you’re having issues using iCloud Contacts. For example, you might make changes to Contacts that don't update across all of your devices.
You may want to consider importing the contacts from the email account you removed. You can do it easily by following the steps in this article:
    iCloud: Import a vCard
You can import an electronic business card, also called a vCard, into iCloud Contacts. If the vCard contains contact information for more than one person, each contact becomes a separate entry.
In iCloud Contacts, choose Import vCard from the Action pop-up menu , which appears at the bottom of the All Contacts list or a list of group contacts
    Select a vCard to import.
The contacts from the vCard are added to the All Contacts group in Contacts. You can add the contacts to any other group by dragging them to the desired group.
Thank you for contributing to Apple Support Communities.
    Best,

  • PAP2T: Incoming calls being blocked by Router.

    Hi,
I am trying to use an unlocked PAP2T Adapter with Telus home network in Canada and am not able to receive calls. I can make outgoing calls to any number in the world, but whenever I get a call back, the phone doesn't ring & later I find it in Firewall log as being blocked under "Low Risk Attack". While trying to find a resolution with the VOIP provider I had at times picked up the phone randomly & found the caller on the line. So apparently the calls have no prblem reaching my PAP2T Adapater, it is just that (1) there is no ring when they do & (2) the incoming calls get blocked by Firewall & dropped.
I have tried port forwarding (UDP & TCP) as well DMZ mode for the Adapter, no luck. Later i tried disabling almost all of the internet provider's 2wire modem/router firewall features (UDP ports scan, packets , etc.) still didnt work. I have run out of ideas & hoping that someone can help me find a way out of this problem ? Appreciate your help & time. Thanks.

I changed to the following settings that did the trick for making the phone ring,
    Click Regional on the top:
Under Ring and Call Waiting Tone Spec
    Change Ring Waveform to Sinusoid
    Change Ring Voltage: 90
    Change Ring Frequency: 20
However, when I pick up the ringing phone, there is no voice going through the line. Also, as per my VOIP provider instructions, when I dial a local number followed by # sing & hang up in 5 seconds, I don't get any callback either. I have even updated the PAP2T to the latest firmware 5.1.6. Any thing else I can change to get the voice across & get the call back ? thanks for your help again.
