Blogging tool for HTMLDB

Can anyone recommend a blogging tool to create a blog in HTMLDB?
Thanks!
Robin

Thanks for the replies!
In response to Robert, I was looking for a tool similar to blogspot, but
one designed to work in an application type environment (from our server) - one that our security guys won't go ballistic over. I am very new to blogs, never even used one, so I barely know how they work.
Zvika, my original thought was to create one in HTMLDB, but since I quickly realized I don't have a clue where to begin, I went searching for one already built. I was hoping someone had already developed one for HTMLDB :o) If you have the time to help me create one, even if it's just to give me a starting point, that would be great! I'm not in a rush; there's no requirement for us to have one at this point,
just wanted to get a head start.

  • Using AE(htmldb 2.0)  as for reporting tool for other oracle databases.

Maybe I was mistaken, but when I first saw the HTMLDB demo's I saw this as a slick way to build a browser based reporting tool for the masses for quasi-ad-hoc reporting on some of our larger databases that currently have limited reporting capability, and also as a possible replacement for the many MSAccess applets we have.
I just got 2.0 installed and working on a 9i database and went through the basic tutorials, but I can't find much info on how to connect to other oracle databases.
    Are my options as follows?:
create dblinks from the local database that houses htmldb to all the other databases?
    or
install htmldb schemas on each database I want to access from htmldb?
    or
I'll keep looking, but if any of you have any pointers or know of a tutorial that explains the best way to do this it would be greatly appreciated!
    tia

As for question 1, yep, that's what I mean. Example:
In a schema in the App Express instance, create a user called "APP1_USER", and then
create view app1_user.people as select * from people@link_user@remotedb
As for the next question, using the built-in insert/update/delete processes will give you
ORA-01461: can bind a LONG value only for insert into a LONG column
among other errors. Apparently version 2.1 will fix this. See Cannot Update VARCHAR column in Remote DB
We address this problem by creating pl/sql APIs for DML, and then writing our own insert/update processes. Slows us down a little, but even with that, App Express remains a productive choice for us.
Another weird problem: auto-row fetch (built-in to HTML DB) doesn't work over db links when you have two columns for a primary key. Many ways around this, e.g. create sequence-populated primary key, create a view with single column that concatenates primary key column values (key1|key2)
    Hope this helps!

  • External Tables preprocessor in 11.2 as a tool for DBAs

I'm really really excited about new 11.2 external tables preprocessor feature. Oracle documentation show examples based on compressed files and how to load uncompress them on a fly and load them to oracle.
Although that is interesting use of external tables preprocessor, I think what is more interesting is the fact that it can be used outside normal ETL and can be great tool for DBAs who run scripts in unix, now they can execute the scripts from oracle environment (e.g. oracle apex) and read the results of the script very easy way using select * from ... (until now I was using JAVA for executing unix scripts from Oracle environment, this is easier way for sure)
I posted few very simple samples on my blog http://jiri.wordpress.com/2010/01/19/no-more-unix-scripts-in-11-2/

    Hi,
I agree the external tables preprocessor is a great feature.
BUT, I have a problem when I use it with Oracle APEX 4.1.
It gives ORA-29913: error in executing ODCIEXTTABLEFETCH callout
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

  • Suggestions about the best tool for quality check for an ADF application

    Hi All,
I need a few suggestions about the best tool for quality check in our ADF applicaiton.
ours is a small size WebCenter Portal application which neither uses any task flows nor consumes any portlets.
It has many jspx pages that use ADF components like table etc, consume web services using web service clients, and has some java classes.
We have come across below option to implement the code quality tools.
    1. Jdeveloper inbuilt Staus option in View tab
    2. PMD extension for Jdeveloper
    3. Red Samurai
Few more suggestions or best practices would be really helpful.
    Thanks,
    Usha

You can use JAudit as well as mentioned in the blog.

  • What are best free tools for a Oracle development DBA?

Hi, I have been production dba for years. I am familiar with full cycle of database installation, configure, backup recovery, etc.
Now my role is going to change to development dba soon. I have no problem to create instances. Then to the data modeling, data normalization, etc, what kind of tools I can use?
Any good suggestions or documents you can provide?
    Thanks in advance.

The only good tools for normalizing your database are you own intelligence, knowledge, and experience. A great place to feed your knowledge and borrow someone else's experience is in Ken Down's blog, The Database Programmer.
As for PL/SQL development tools, try SDDM's older sister, SQL Developer.

  • Wrapping Tool for Windows and Android Platform in Microsoft Intune

    Hi,
I know that there is wrapping tool for iOS.
Is there any similar tool for Windows and Android platform?
I hearad that the one tool "XapSignTool" for Windows. can we use this toll in intune?
    Regards,
    Venkatesh

First, the plist is a by product of the Apple development process just like the plist is, thus you need to get this from the developer.
Second, you don't have a choice. Getting ipas for Apple store apps is nearly impossible -- you can't just download them from the Apple store and use them. You can try to ask the developer for them but developers are very reluctant to do this. I can guarantee
you that you won't get the ipa for Outlook from Microsoft and nearly all other developers have the same reluctance. There is no reason for them to give them to you -- the store offers many, many advantages for developers/publishers of the apps that go away
completely if they give out the ipa.
Why don't you want to install apps from the store?
Regardless, as mentioned, you really don't have a choice.

  • Config Lab tool for Oracle CC&B Package

    Hi,
Is there any configlab tool for Oracle CC&B package for confifuration management accross different environments. we can use VSS as version management for java codes and cobol codes in CC&B. But i am unable to identify any config lab tool for configuration management.
Guys please help me out in this.
    Thanks and Regards
    sayantan

    Sayantan,
There is (unfortunately) no silver bullet for your requirement.
Here is a good blog article on the different options available.
    https://blogs.oracle.com/theshortenspot/entry/configlab_versus_bundling_vers
Implementations use variations and combinations of the 3 tools that are available, coupled with 3rd party migration tools (like vss). The strategy for an implementation's development-to-production life cycle will vary based on a multitude of factors. Skill set of the IT shop, what tools they are used to, internal audit procedures, etc.
Hope the article provides some food for thought!

  • Need Extended Version of JCO Pool Viewer Tool for SSO Expiration Problem

    Hi, SDN Fellow.
When we are running some of our Web Dynpro application, it ran into this error". Cannot create JCOClientConnection for Logical System XXXXX_WD_MODELDATA_DEST - Model class xxxxx. The SSO ticket needed for authentication to  XXXXX_WD_MODELDATA_DEST has expired. Close all applications and lofon anew!"
We have researched on this error, and find that the optimal fix is to upgrade to SP12, then use the Assertion Ticket. But we are currently not ready to apply SP12 from SP11 yet.
I have read about SAP Note 1130191 - JCO Pool Viewer Tool for SSO Expiration Problem.
For workaround fix, we decided to try out Extended Version of JCO Pool Viewer Tool to clear the cache when this error occurs.
The note did not mention where can I get the tool. I remembered I read a blog on this tool too, but could not recall the blog link. Can anyone guide me where can I get this tool?
    Thanks,
    Kent

    Hi Cui,
Navigate to Content Admin-> Web Dynpro-> SAP.COM space in left navigation area.
There you can find the EAR/WAR file for this tool, open it and click on run.
Now it will show you list of threads which are faulty, you can remove the faulty thread from this list.
So no server restart is needed in case of one thread failure.
If you are not able to get this tool, I will mail it to your ID.

  • Testing Tools for SAP & SAP BIW

    Hi Forum ,
will any body pls let me know what are available testing tools for SAP and SAP BIW? Which tool is popular and mostly used? Does any one provide training for this tools?
    Regards
    Suhel

    Hi,
For SAP R/3 we use CATT and ECATT tools.
Both are very useful tools and generally used for automated functional testing.Reduces a large amount of cost and human effort.
Even you can convert or call external tool scripts like mercury QTP etc from ECATT and run from ECATT itself. Also you can use these tools with solution manager to get awesome effortless testing and test plan management.
    Check my weblogs.
Part-1:Shows how to create a Parameterize CATT script.

Part-2:Shows how to migrate CATT to ECATT script.

    1./people/community.user/blog/2007/01/02/integrating-ecatt-mercury-qtp-part-1
This one shows the minimum configuration required for QTP and ECATT integration on client and server side.
    2./people/community.user/blog/2007/01/15/integrating-ecatt-mercury-qtp-part-2
This one shows the standalone mode.e.g.mercury script is created and uploaded to ecatt and then executed from ecatt itself. Also,It is now possible to call this script from Solution manager.
    3./people/community.user/blog/2007/01/22/integrating-ecatt-mercury-qtp-part-3
This one shows the integration mode which is most powerful as we can run QTP scripts from ECATT,Upload & download modify existing etc.
    Please reward points.

  • Does CS5 have tools for creating websites for mobile devices?

Does DW CS5 have any built in tools for creating web pages for mobile devices, iPads, iPhones, etc?
    Thanks.

This will go back to your other post about the CSS tables, it depends on how much you know.  CSS3 is a style language and while support is growing in Dreamweaver and within browsers it is taking some time so the more you understand the code the better off you will be.  With regards to HTML5 animations, you will find that no tool out there can do this easily outside of some Apple developer tools and if you are serious about programming to work with the iPhone/iPad you will want to sign up (registration is free) and download their developer tools.  Adobe has mentioned making some strides and trying to use their existing tools (ie: Flash) to help transition to HTML5 animations from Flash and Illustrator has also gained some HTML5 vector tools to help out.
To find out more about what Adobe is doing for HTML5 there was a post made on John Nack's blog not too long ago that you might want to read over (and follow the links).
    http://blogs.adobe.com/jnack/2010/11/so-what-has-adobe-actually-done-for-html5-lately.html
Dreamweaver is not going to hand you everything though.  To get the most out of it you have to put something into it.  It is easily the most advanced tool in the PHP and ColdFusion realms (ASP/.NET goes to Visual Studio).  But in order to do more and customize things to your needs, understanding the code is a must in the world of web design.
