Bluetooth audio sink no longer available in PulseAudio after systemd

I've done a long overdue and mostly smooth update to systemd, but I can't get PA to use my Bluetooth speakers anymore. I followed the instructions on https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Systemd and removed myself from all groups other than users.
Bluetooth itself seems to be working fine, I was able to re-pair and connect to the audio sink, but it doesn't show up as an output in pavucontrol. The device name does show up in the Configuration tab of pavucontrol, with the option to switch between A2DP and Off profiles, but fiddling with that doesn't do anything either. What did I break?
Edit: nothing shows up for the bluetooth device in /dev/snd either.

Try shutting down your Mac and then unplugging it (completely) for about 30 seconds. Then plug it in and power it back up.
This does what's called an "SMC reset" and will often resolve issues around AirPort and Bluetooth hardware of this nature.

I did not have success trying to get my MacBook to pair with a Typhoon Bluetooth Audio Receiver Set (http://www.typhoon.de/en/art.php?p=1523&pv=3 ).
The Typhoon device claims to be a A2DP-SNK (stereo audio sink) .
My MacBook (10.4.8 up to date, with a Bluetooth-MightyMouse) Bluetooth-Assistant finds it in "Search-all"-Mode and labels it as "BT Receiver", and also finds it if I search for Headsets alone.
But after that, it just sits there and "collects additional information.", which "should take only seconds".
There is no timeout on this, no error message is given either.
Actually, with this Audio-Receiver came an Audio-Transmitter (a USB-BT-Dongle). Connecting this with a MacBook USB-Port does not result in any reaction of the machine.
The BT-Dongle should be able to do most BT-profiles, including GAP,SPP,HSP,HID and A2DP.
The System.log does not show anything, except for a "kernel[0]: (3795: ps)tfp: failed on 0:" happening every 3 seconds continually.
I'm hoping for any ideas... Or should I dump this device?
Did anyone of you get an audio-sink (with Line-Out) working with OSX?

DB Home no longer available on XE after upgrade to apex 4.1.1

I've installed XE 11R2 with Apex 4.0 included.
The upgrade to apex 4.1.1 succeded, the url (http://localhost:8080/apex/f?p=4550:1) is still the same.
But the DB Home (http://localhost:8080/apex/f?p=4950:1) is no longer available, an error displays :
Error ERR-1014 Application not found.
application=4950 workspace=10 It's seems the workspace and the db home application has been deleted. Does an other way to access the DB Home exist ?

It appears that on XE, apex 4.0 can't be upgraded for now. This is annoying in my case because I need apex other languages, not included in the xe version...
Maybe can I use the standart apex folders ?

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
No data is lost due to a reset.

HT1689 audio files no longer available to sync to my iphone 4

I had upgraded my iphone 4s operating system to IOS7, and have lost the capability to sync my audio lectures to my phone to listen to them. They are on my macbook, and i was easily able to check them on itunes and load them to my phone. Now all the audio lecutures are still on the computer available to check to sync to my phone, but they do not load. When i go to the cloud on my iphone, to try to download them directly to my phone they do not show up at all. I am wondering if the new operating system is not allowing a person to listen to files not purchased from itunes? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Windows 7 Bootcamp is no longer available in startup after updating to Yosemite 10.10

I updated my MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013) and then after updating I could no longer see my Windows 7 bootcamp when starting up. I followed this tutorial to try to get it too work again without losing any information: Windows 7 Removed after update Yosemite. I got to the part where we rebuild the MBR, but I got to part 8 and then it said that partition 4 is either too big or does not exist.
I do not know what to do from here and was wondering if I had done something wrong and/or what I can do to fix it?

You seem to have found the correct partition. The following table has your values. (ASC thinks I have invalid characters in my table, so this is a screen shot of the MS Excel spreadsheet).
Leave your Testdisk display and start a new Terminal Window. You need to use the following steps. If you see any error messages during the following steps, please stop and post back here with the error message. The following steps have values from your Testdisk output (and you can verify) in Steps 7 and 8.
Rebuild GPT4 using start/end offsets
Sudo gdisk /dev/rdisk0
P (print the full list of parts)
D (delete)
4 (part 4)
N (new part)
4   (part 4)
589682688 - Start offset in bytes (start point for Bootcamp part)
+387422201 - (Size offset as opposed to End offset)
0700     (Windows part type)
P           (print list of all parts just to see what changes will be made)
W         (Write the new GPT)

This will delete and re-write the GPT partition info for /dev/disk0s4.
Rebuild MBR to match the new GPT information thus resetting the Hybrid MBR. Use defaults for other questions (like partition codes). The only values that need modifications are the Boot flags and step 6. Accept all other defaults that Gdisk offers.

How can I sync my Outlook 2010 calendar with Gmail Calendar now that Google Sync is no longer available

My iPhone 3 had been syncing fine with Outlook 2003 via Google Sync. I recently had to reload my PC, wiped it and installed Outlook 2010 as part of the reload; when I tried to install Google Sync I learned it was no longer available for download after December 14th.....I did have it on another PC, moved it over but got an error message. So I am no longer able to make calendar changes on my iPhone and have them sync to Outlook or vise versa. In addition my Google calendar is now empty....

no you can not do that. You can sync any web calendar that supports web dav to lightning, but Microsoft have chosen to not use the open standard and instead only offer a Microsoft Proprietary interface. Nothing new here though. They only offered a Microsoft Proprietary interface to download mail for many years. They call it innovation. I call it vendor lock in.
Interestingly enough you can sync office 365 calendar via OWA but not outlook.com

I have this same issue, but opposite. My audio in my bluetooth headphones sounds great, but when they are connected my bluetooth mouse (microsoft 5000) is all over the place.
What's the deal. I didn't know my $2000 mac would be so inferior to my $800 pc in this regards (otherwise very happy with switch to mac)

Pulseaudio / Bluetooth audio skipping

Greetings.
I recently bought a pair of bluetooth headphones, August EP650. They work perfectly on Windows 7, no skipping, great quality. However, in Arch they play ok for a few seconds and then start to skip badly and lag behind (for example, if I pause whatever I'm hearing, I only hear it pausing a few moments later).
I googled hard all day yesterday to try and find a solution but no luck so far.

Yeah, I suspect that's it. My bluetooth adapter is embedded on the wifi adapter, so they're both from Broadcom (BCM4313) and god knows the problems I had with wifi already. Broadcom doesn't seem to have good support for linux.

Bluetooth is no longer available?

I have both an Apple wireless keyboard A1016 and a wireless mightymouse A1197 and when I booted up this morning they were no longer available. I verified that the batteries were good and zapped the pram twice to no avail.
When I type in bluetooth in the search window for the settings panel it says that the bluetooth tab is hidden because I don't have a bluetooth module installed or attached. Huh? It has been working just fine for the past couple of weeks. My system is completely updated up to 10.5.3.
When I click on bluetooth in the system profiler it says: No information found.
When I click on USB and then on USB IR receiver I get the following info (in case it's helpful): IR Receiver:

I have had the same problem for weeks now. I have read all the threads and lots of different machines have the same problem - In my case a first generation MacBookPro running 10.5.3
I have tried pretty much everything suggested: a simple restart will not typically work. It requires a PRAM reset, sometimes twice. I have also noticed that it fluctuates: sometimes it will drop by itself (with no action or BT device connected) and it will restore itself on occasion too.
A sure way to bring it down is to try to connect an Apple mouse or keyboard (both first generation): they will connect on a clean restart, but after a few seconds or minutes the BT not available 'zigzag' will come back.
A collateral problem is that once the zigzag is 'active' it seem to screw up the PRAM: the machine no longer sleeps properly, wakes up by itself, drains the battery all the way to shutdown, etc.
Like many people on this board I have tried everything: disk utility/permission repair, disk warrior, hardware tests, etc. I now have to set my PRAM several times a day and I am at the end of my tether!
This reminds me the case when Apple denied problems with wifi under 10.5 and then magically cured it with the next OS update...
Any ideas, Apple?

How can I resolve this file problem?
I spent a couple of hours recording a narration as a STAP file that was about 30 minutes long. After the recording (the second action after "Empty File") I added several actions to delete unwanted portions (errors, repeats, etc.). To finalize the project I added a couple of actions (noise gate and limiter).
Everuthing appeared and played normally... but when I opened the file this morning I noticed that there was no audio in the project... scrolling up revealed that the "Recording" was unchecked... I checked it and got the following error message:
The action "Recording" has been disabled because some audio data is no longer available. You can replace this action with a similar action.<</div>
Replace? Does that mean repeating the work entirely?
Well, the file appears to be 591.8 MB in size... so it should have the audio in it.
Is there a way to recover the original audio from this file?
BTW, I should have exported it before closing it up... Unfortunately, not trusting your software is what I used to do with my PCs...

I think the easiest way to do this is to have the EyeTV app running in one user account and sent via HDMI to the TV, and use a separate user account for Screen Sharing. Both logins can be active at the same time and with Lion you can connect via screen sharing to which ever login you need.
With regards to the Mac video resolution changing, when it is not the current input on your AV receiver. This is 'normal', if the Mac sees no signal it drops down the a lower level. What you need is to buy a HDMI Detective Plus which tricks the Mac in to always seeing a signal and hence it will not drop down the resolution. See http://www.gefen.com/kvm/dproduct.jsp?prod_id=8005
The Mac mini does have an IR receiver. This can be used with the EyeTV app, iTunes, and similar. Yes I believe EyeTV would run for prolonged periods quite happily, it is has been around for a long time and had most of the rough edges polished off. However one issue you will have to deal with is that it does not automatically update its program guide data. For this you might have to write or modify an AppleScript. Elgato support or their user forums will be a lot of help.
You can set EyeTV to convert recordings to an iTunes (Apple TV) compatible format and then delete them from EyeTV.
The HDMI Detective should solve your handshaking problems.

Blackberry Q10 - Bluetooth Audio gone / Contacts not shown in HUB

I have some questions regarding my Blackberry Q10, that I use since not even a year.
1. If I buy a mobile phone from a company that wants to be the star in the business world, why do I have to solve any issues with the help from other users? That the company that produces the product is not able to fix it themselves may be part of the problems...
2. After my last recovery action the phone does not show the name for some specific contacts in the Hub, though caller ID and contacts entry is ok. Still, the Hub only shows only the number.
3. After an OS software update the phone occassionally failed to contact to my car via bluetooth to play audio files - The hands-free speakerphone always worked and works! But I used to play the MP3 files stored on my phone via bluetooth on the cars stereo system. Similar problem like this.
Sometimes it works, sometimes the option Bluetooth Audio was not available in the cars built-in stereo.
After finding no solution in the internet I decided to re-install the phone software. After recovering the phone (and loosing half of the contacts that magically got lost during the backup process, and picking up problem no.2) it worked ok - until it started again, getting worse day by day. Sometimes the music started, but on the phone, not on the car speaker.
Then came the new software update to 10.2.1.2977.
Instead of the anticipated fix this update did something unexpected. Now, the Bluetooth Audio function does not work at all, never. I already deleted the bluetooth connection with the car, and reinitiated it, but no change. Phone works, Audio doesn't.
Which basically means that I do not use the audio function anymore. Which I consider a cool statement, such as driving a Mercedes S-Class, but you can't give the three blondes on the curbside a lift, because at the last inspection the Mercedes workshop accidently removed the rear bench - and then asked you to ask other Mercedes drivers to install it back in.
Bluetooth Audio connection to bluetooth speakers works, though.
Anybody a good idea? I'm reluctant to re-install the phone again, since it damaged as much as it fixed last time. And didn't last long.
How about a software update that, for a change, fixes the problem, instead of creating it?

I'm having the same issues.
My NEW Q10 will work fine for phone connection in my Hyundai Elantra GT(2013). It will connect via bluetooth to similarly enable speakers(Altec theJacket - not the XL) but NO AUDIO through the connected speakers!!! This is quite frustrating. The manual says it supports about a dozen 'profiles'. The Q10 supports APT-X technology, but not many speaker manufacturers support this. The Altec XL-Jacket is twice the price of theJacket.
When will BB fix the audio streaming problem? This is a major nuiscence!
