Bluetooth freezing up when trying to pair with a bluetooth headset

I recently got a Plantronics Voyager 520 and whenever I try to connect it with my MBP it like freezes, not the whole computer though. Whenever I move the mouse into the top right corner (where the time and stuff is) it does the spinning thingy to show that its working. Also, system preferences stops working as well.
I have a brand new macbook pro model that I purchased in June. I was hoping to be able to use my headset with it but I have no idea why it isn't working.
Oh, and I paired the headset with computer fine. But whenever I try to connect them after that it doesn't work.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

If the error persists consider capturing a user mode dump of the crash to see if perhaps another, possibly third party, module may actually be causing the crash.
You can configure Windows to create user-mode dumps. Create a System Restore Point first.
If you copy and paste the following in Notepad and save as a .reg file (save with the .reg extension and give it any name such as explorerdump.reg) then right-click the .reg file and select "Merge" to add to the registry, a .dmp file at the time
explorer.exe crashes should be created in the C:\CrashDumps folder:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Error Reporting\LocalDumps\explorer.exe]
"DumpFolder"=hex(2):43,00,3a,00,5c,00,43,00,72,00,61,00,73,00,68,00,44,00,75,\
00,6d,00,70,00,73,00,00,00
After Explorer (explorer.exe) crashes, can you then make the .dmp file available (provide link) via a public folder on Windows Live SkyDrive or similar site.
Here's a couple of links on using OneDrive (SkyDrive):

    Hello:
An iPad will not connect (Bluetooth) to the KB.  As I understand the device, it should connect to your Bluetooth-capable Mac.

new user, phone will not pair says other device not supported

That's correct. You cannot pair with another phone - except other iPhones from within apps that support peer-to-peer connections such as multiplayer games.
Here are the Bluetooth profiles supported by iOS: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3647

It isn't supposed to pair with the MacBook.  You can use WiFi to connect but not Bluetooth.  You can setup a personal HotSpot on the iPhone and connect the MacBook, or setup the MacBook AirPort to create a network and attach the iPhone, and use the USB cable to connect the iPhone to the MacBook for syncing and backup purposes.
    The communications are rather limited.

  • I just downloaded the newest IOS software and now my iPhone5 won't pair with the Bluetooth in my car (the car system says it's paired when I try to re-pair it but then when n try to make a call it tells me it doesn't recognize the phone.

I just downloaded the IOS upgrade, 7.0.2, and now my iPhone 5 won't pair with my Bluetooth in my car, despite repeated attempts to re-pair the two and despite the fact it's been paired fine previously.  The car system tells me it's paired but then when I try to make a call I get another message that says there is no paired phone.

You can't override it no matter what you do. The device has to connect to the server to complete the iOS update. You could try rebooting the iPad and see if that lets you connect to the server after it starts up.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If that will not work, you can try connecting to iTunes on your computer and see if the activation will complete. Sometimes when thes activation issues arise, you end up having to restore the device again, but first things first. Reboot and see what happens.

  • 4.2 for Pearl 8100 for support of Bluetooth A2DP or AVRCP to pair with Motorola S9 headset

    Hey all,
As with most of you, I'm experiencing the same issues with both my mouse and keyboard not pairing after changing batteries. I spoke with my tech guy at work and he knows of the problem and told me how to fix it - which I tried but couldn't do it. So I brought them into work and gave then to my tech guy just to see if they would pair with another Mac G5. He was having the same problem but was able to get them to pair. This is what he did -
    1. Ran the BT set up.
    2. When he made it to the enter passkey and typed in the PK but it didn't work, he would hit the continue button, turn the keyboard off/on super fast and retype in the PK.
After a few times, it worked. He also suggested pulling the batteries out and placing them back in in the middle of the process. He doesn't know why this works other then saying "it's finicky".
Just one other note. He got my mouse to connect with no problem. I couldn't at home. I'm writing this at work and will try this solution tonight and let everyone know if it works for me.
    Hope this helps

  • MacBook Pro will not pair with any Bluetooth device

Last night my MacBook Pro stopped pairing with any bluetooth device (I've tried Apple Pro Wireless Keyboard, Wireless Mighty Mouse, Logitech MX900 mouse, Apple Aluminum Wireless Keyboard) and it simply won't pair with anything.
It sees each device but when it tries to pair it fails. With the keyboards, sometimes it'll give me the passkey to type on the keyboard but then it doesn't recognize that I've actually typed it and hit enter. Eventually I just end up with:
"The pairing attempt was unsuccessful. Make sure your keyboard is in range of this computer, turned on and "discoverable." When ready, click Continue to try again."
I've reinstalled 10.5.6 Combo update, tried to pair under a different user account, turned off/on bluetooth, and still nothing.
I did install VMWare Fusion last night and briefly shared the Bluetooth connection to that, so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it or not.
    Any suggestions?

    Me too. sigh
All was well until this afternoon, when I swapped out the batteries on my trusty old Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer for Bluetooth, which has worked flawlessly for me for a few years now. After I put new batteries in, my MBP wouldn't recognize it. I went through the Bluetooth Setup Assistant, and it "saw" the mouse and properly listed it as "Microsoft Mouse". I hit "continue", of course, and the Assistant said "Pairing with your Bluetooth mouse". It got as far as "Connection established" (and I saw the mouse appear in the Bluetooth preference pane", but then I got the dreaded red words: "The pairing attempt was unsuccessful. Make sure your mouse is in range of this computer, turned on and "discoverable." Etc., etc. I made sure of all of those things and tried again, many times, with the same failure every time. I tried different batteries, rebooted the Mac, and so on. No luck.
Figuring my mouse was dead, I went out and bought a Kensington Slimblade Bluetooth Presenter Mouse, brand new, never been paired with anything. Same problem!
Also, I can no longer get my Palm Treo 650 to sync via Bluetooth. It used to be a little flaky (often complained that the port was in use by another application), but rebooting the Treo always solved that. Now, it doesn't.
One trusty old mouse suddenly stops pairing, one brand-new one refuses to pair, smartphone won't sync any more. I haven't installed any system updates or anything else since the Microsoft mouse worked. The only weird thing going on is that I'm having massive network connectivity issues with my broadband connection (probably a flaky cable modem), and a couple of days ago I bought a new Airport Extreme a/b/g/n wireless router, which is at the other end of the house from my computer and now-defunct mice.
Very bizarre. Can the Bluetooth chip or antenna in a MacBook Pro burn out or otherwise fail?
    Puzzled and frustrated,
    :ian

  • I have an Apple Wireless Keyboard trying to pair with two computers

    I have two Mac Mini's:
    Mac Mini #1
    Core 2 Duo T7200
    2GB DDR2 5300
    120GB Sandisk SSD
    OS X Lion 10.7.4
    Apple Wireless Keyboard
    Apple Magic Trackpad
    Mac Mini #2
    Core 2 Duo T5600
    2GB DDR2 5300
    120GB OCZ SSD
    OS X Lion 10.7.4
    Generic USB Keyboard (Mac Compatible)
    Apple Magic Mouse
Both are running OS X LION.  When I turn off the Mini with the wireless keyboard, the other Mini tries to pair up with the keyboard, each and every time.  I've deleted the com.apple.bluetooth.plist and com.apple.bluetooth.lockfile and reset PRAM on both machines.
I've also removed the batteries from the keyboard and held the power button down for 30 seconds in hope of clearing any lingering juice.
As soon as the computers are powered back up, it tries to pair with the other computer first, rather than the one it paied with.  This keyboard is NOT listed as a paired device on Mini #2; never has.
    Any ideas?

Yeah, I'm afraid Apple's initial wireless keyboard simply isn't compatible with iOS. Only the newer flat-keyed models are.

  • IPad 2 does not find or pair with Apple bluetooth keyboard - waiting -

When I turn bluetooth on on the iPad 2 it keeps searching with the words 'Searching' and 'Now Discoverable' as it searches. the A1314 keyboard is on and is the same keyboard I use for my MacBook Pro, which it pairs perfectly with. The iPad simply never stops searching and never connects or offers connection. The keyboard is turned on and batteries are good and also it works every day with the MacBook Pro.
    Any ideas for a solution?
    TIA,
    Ken

According to the keyboards user guide, the keyboard is discoverable when the indicator light is flashing. Are you trying to pair the two while both are discoverable?
Try resetting the iPad before trying to pair with the BT keyboard. Press and hold simultaneously the Home and Power buttons for 10+ seconds, ignoring the power off slider, until the Apple logo appears.
    Dah•veed
I did all of that but not sure that any of it did as much as simply turning off the computer to make sure that the keyboard was not being used by it. I now find that I could have turned off the bluetooth on the computer or made the keyboard 'unselected' by bluetooth to allow the keyboard to be free to be selected and paired by the iPad.
Thanks for you help on this.

  • Bluetooth in MacBook Pro won't pair with anything

Hello all.  I have two MacBook Pros, each about 6 months old.  They are both running the latest version of Lion.  Neither one will pair with any bluetooth device.  I always get an error message saying "this device does not have the necessary services".  What does this mean, and how can I fix it?
I have a Canon printer that won't pair, and I thougth it was just a compatibility issue until I tried to pair a Jawbone Jambox (which used to pair), and a brand new Bose portable speaker.  I get the same message every time.
Bluetooth on the computer finds the device,  but can't go through with the pairing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Jadrb

I just got a Creative D100 bluetooth speaker and am having the exact same problem you had. Speaker pairs just fine with my ipad, but won't work with MacBook giving me same "This device does not have the necessary services" error message. Have you found a solution yet?

Edge has very clear restrictions, one being that you must have 6 months of clean payment history which you don't. Either wait until April 14, or good luck at Sprint.
I am unsure how it can be determined the payment mix up was the fault of CS, but regardless, the mix up was done. There can be any number of reasons why a payment could be missed without any fault on your part, however you are still the responsible party for the account and must live with the repercussions.
