Bluetooth issues with car with iOS 8.0.2 and iPhone 5

I am still experiencing issues with connection my phone to my brand new car, after updating to iOS8, and now iOS 8.0.2.
I can connect to the bluetooth, but this gives me a phantom call, my car keeps telling me that an incoming call is inbound. I cannot receive or make any phonecalls, I have only access to my contacts list.
I have tried to remove my car on my devices list, changed the name of the phone, changed the password. Did a reset of the phone.
Deleted all network connections on the phone, and reset the phone completely. And also restarted my car.
Still the same issues.
I did not have any issues with iOS7. And my car is a brand new Mazda 3 2014, with the latest firmware to the car. So i know for sure this is the iOS 8's fault.

after avoiding the hassle with the troubled IOS 8, IOS 8.0.1, i upgraded to 8.0.2. which I believed to be bugless, the iPhone 5 didn't function in my car (2014 model) anymore. It had worked flawless with IOS 7....
I'f got phantom calls, freezing the cars display and blocking the radio, in the second the bluetooth connection to the phone is established.
incoming calls go to the phone and at the cars system is nothing to hear.
Active calls from the car remain silent, even on the car display it looks like there is a connection, only the music is switched off.
Hopefully Apple staff is reading here and will change this situation soon.
Why is the possibility to officially downgrade to IOS 7.1.2 canceled by Apple ??
Is there still an unofficial possibility to downgrade a non-jailbreaked iPhone?
In the older iTunes backup?

  • Bluetooth issues with IOS 5.0 and Volkswagen

Ever since 5.0 came out my VW bluetooth connects ok in the car however when you leave the car ,the volume on the ringer stays at two bars and is almost inaudible. There are also playback issues at times of music when connected to VW bluetooth in that the volume stays at zero volume and i have to turn it up to hear the music. The ringer volume problem is the most annoying as it causes me to miss calls. Is anyone working on this?

Great news everyone!!!  I installed iOS 5.1 beta on my iPhone 4 and the volume Bluetooth problem is gone!!!
For most unless you are in the Apple iOS developer program you won't be able to install it yet but once it's released the problem should be fixed.
Something to note..  I did have to turn the volume up once after it connected to my 2012 VW GTI.  Since then it has stayed where I put it and I couldn't be happier.
Not happy with how long it took to get resolved but nonetheless happy it is resolved.  Let just hope it stays resolved when it goes public.

  • Issues with ios 8.3 update on iPhone 5

After updating my iPhone 5 to ios 8.3, I am unable to stream purchased music and videos from iTunes or any podcasts. I also can not stream videos on YouTube, Netflix, or Safari. Nothing works on both Wi-Fi and my normal data. If I could I would try to turn off the phone and restart but unfortunately my iPhone 5 is one of the ones that has the faulty lock button that needs to be repaired. But besides that, has anybody else been having issues with streaming music and videos?

i'm looking for people with problems on iphone 5 with 8.3 because i'm still on ios7 and considering to upgrade
but if you have problem with turning off the phone,
you can set up "assistive touch" from setting > general > accessibility > assistive touch (down the bottom)
you can also set this on the accessibility shortcut for the triple click on the home button to show/hide the assitive touch
you'll see a black circle floating on the screen somewhere. you can move this thing around if it blocks what you want to see/tap
now to turn off your phone you can tap the assistive touch button > device > tap and hold the 'lock screen' icon until the power off slider comes up.
so you don't really have to fix the lock button

  • Issues with IOS 8.0.2 on iPhone 6

Hello  Users and Apple What is going on with IOS 8 and IOS 8.0.2 my iPhone 6 with the latest update my device while I am using apps my iphone does not respond also battery dies quicker. I aready follow troubleshooting articles from Apple Support but no resolution. Please Apple respond I went thru a lot rush and big lines for me to get a get a device the does not work properly. I think you guys had enough time to realease a Perfect iPhone after all that waiting and crazy lines on apple store. Please respond!!!!!!

My wife and I are also experiencing intermittent issues with our new iPhone 6s. We both recently upgraded, she had an iPhone 4S and I had an iPhone 5 both of which worked very well and reliably. So far, in the week that we’ve had the 6s, we’ve experienced more app crashes and issues with iPhone remaining connected to our home and work networks. The wifi issues are occurring on both of our phones even after updating to iOS 8.0.2 so those issues have not been fully resolved. The app crashes we experienced initially seem to have been fixed after updating but, it’s only been a day. I’ve only owned iPhones as my last three cell phones (3G, 4S and a 5) and the 6 so far has the most issues. iOS 8 is also the buggiest OS to date in my experience using iOS. Not a great sign for the direction Apple is going in. The reason I’ve always preferred an iPhone to other available phones is that they’ve always worked exactly as promised and whatever few issues may have existed either with the OS or the device, they were fixed quickly. Unless another iOS update is forthcoming that truly corrects the remaining OS issues, for the first time since first owning an iPhone, I’m going to really begin to lose a little faith in Apple products. Between my wife and I, five iPhones, two Apple TVs and two Macbook Pros. As an example of the wifi issue I’m talking about, last night my wife was watching a show on HBO GO on her iPhone while she was preparing dinner in the kitchen. Her iPhone was connected to our home network as usual and as it always was with our previous iPhones. While watching the show, she gets a message stating that using 3G to stream shows could affect her data bill. Meanwhile, the wifi symbol was still showing on the top of her phone as if it was still connected to our home network but apparently, the phone was actually using our cell network to stream HBO GO. That obviously shouldn’t be happening and is definitely going to affect our cell bill big time. Neither of us have ever experienced these issues on our old iPhones. Very disappointing.

  • Having issue with safari not starting when I open it.  I am having this issue with iOS 7 on both a iPhone 4S and 5.

Have successfully updated 2 items and Safari the last both are having issues.  Safari opens but then stalls.  I have reset and restored the iPhone and I am seeing the same issues.

I just tested this on my wife's phone and you are right. I tested it time and again, changing the vibrate to ON and OFF and it consistently reproduces the problem, in line with the vibrate being on or off. You are a genius lol.
I had this issue on my phone too, but it disappeared when I followed the advice of a Genius.
When I asked my local Genius, he said it was a software issue and that a Restore followed by Create a new iPhone would remove the faulty/corrupted file that is causing the issue. He specified not to restore from backup, as the problem might still be resident within the backup.
I did this, and it seemed to work on her phone. Then it reappeared, so I'm still not sure what's going on. But your discovery defnitely holds true for her phone. My one seems to be okay regardless of the vibrate on or off now, even though I did exactly the same restore procedure on mine.

  • Issues with WLC 7.0.116 and iPhone/iPads iOS devices

We are using a WLC 2106 running 7.0.116 and notice that when iPhones are streaming data (e.g. YouTube) during WPA re-auths we get the following log entry:
Max EAPOL-key M3 retransmissions exceeded for client xxxxx
And the iPhone prompts for the username/password  for EAP-PEAP.
This occurs on two different lab setups, one local auth, one MS IAS. Changing EAPOL timeout settings does not fix the problem.
Note that we rolled back to WLC 6.x software and the problem appears fixed. Is this a known issue in 7.0.116 that others have seen?
    thanks,
    Simon

Its speculation at this point stating its tied to CPU processing. If you obtain a capture of both low CPU and high CPU you could then state its CPU bound.
Specific to the session timeout, Increasing or disabling it makes sense. The only purpose of the session timeout is to regen the MSK keys which then seed the PMK,GMK. Cisco recommends to disable session timeout on voice because of its known problems with voice reliability.
In addition, client idle timeout impacts Apple "i" deivces more than any other divice. Do a lab and capture the traffic coming out of a iPad for exmaple. These devices dont chatter on the network like other devices.
Its not uncommon for iPads to drop off the network with default settngs on the WLC (but this doesnt explain your 7 vs 6 code). In fact we lab this where iPads client records get deleted after 300 seconds (default timer) and have to reauth becuase of this very issue. An adjustment of the timers aided this situation.
Call TAC see what they tell you ... I suspect they will review these same items and the EAP timeout, that you mentioned already.
I just checked and we have 768 ipads on our network at this very moment  including mine.
I just moved my auth time to 5 minutes and I am pulling youtube and watched 3 auths and there is no problems.
You need to do a L2 capture and see what the iPad is doing. If the ipad sends its EAP creds and the WLC doesnt respond then you know its the WLC.

  • WiFi problem with iOS 7.0.3 and iPhone 5

My iPhone 5 has been working flawlessly with iOS6. After updating it to iOS 7 I have an irritating problem with the WiFi connection at work. Everything is OK for some time, then the WiFi connection just stops working. There is a WiFi icon max signal strength icon but there's just no connection. There are usually no error messages. Safari would just spin the connectivity icon forever with nothing showing on the screen. Facebook won't load anything, etc. Unfortunately the phone won't fallback to cellular. I have to either reset it, or restart it. Sometimes just diabling-enabling WiFi works, sometimes not.
I've read a lot about this problem, it seems to be very common on 4S, however it seems I am alone to have it on 5. I've tried all the suggested solution - reset my network settings, I have even reinstalled my iPhone as a new one and not from my iOS6 backup. It doesn't help.
Note that the problem is not in our WiFi network since my iPad 3 works perfectly and has connectivity at the same time.
Having in mind this is very widespread issue on iPhone 4S which is still not fixed even in version 7.0.3, I am kind of exhausted. I've been a loyal Apple fan but if this doesn't get fix in the next iOS 7 update, I'll probably look other brands finally. It's really such a shame!

You are not alone i am having same issue on my i5 ios7.0.3  but apple is still not responding on the issue several sites and even apple discussion forum is filled with this issue no major fix or trick works as what apple says in its help. waiting for apple to respond on this isuue

  • IPhone 6 BlueTooth issues with iOS8

    Ok here is my findings:
Tried 2 iPhone 5 units before iOS8 and no issues with Bluetooth (1 I had for 2 years and no issues in my car). Once updating to iOS8 the bluetooth didn't work well at all for phone calls but music connects fine. Strange issues with the unit automatically start dialling but not able to cancel call until you disconnected bluetooth.
Also incoming calls ring but unable to answer and seem to lock up so you have to disconnect bluetooth to hang up.
I tried everything listed in the forums here and what the Apple reps told me. It works for a short while until the phone gets turned off or synced with iTunes. Now I have a new iPhone 6 with iOS 8 and it worked initially before I started setting things up.
I did not restore from a back up, I started as a new phone. Once I installed all my apps (Not in iTunes, rather manually over the air) and changed settings on the phone (not sure if it because of changing settings or turning the phone off) it would not connect to bluetooth in my car anymore, well it does just for music. I have tried my wife's iPhone 5c and it seems to work fine with my bluetooth so it definitely has nothing to do with my vehicle.
Apple there is a definite issue here. Stop telling me and other people to contact my car manufacturer to fix the issue. It all worked fine before iOS 8. Something needs to be done ASAP or I will be returning my phone and jumping ship to an Android or Windows phone as much as that may pain me. I have been a loyal Apple customer for the last 7 years. If this is how you are going to treat me and other loyal customers, you will not keep us for long.
I am hoping someone from Apple is reading this. If so I am expecting to be contacted. We expect a resolution fast!

I had same Bluetooth issues with iOS 8 on my iPhone 6; no phone/no music streaming although showing as "connected" with my 2 vehicles (VW and Audi).
Apple telephone technical support team solved issue with both cars as follows:
    1. Delete the phone from handsfree memory in the Bluetooth car settings.
    2. "Forget" the handsfree device (car) in the iPhone Bluetooth settings.
    3. Reset ALL settings in iPhone (not just network settings)!!
(note: I had to reset ALL settings twice in a row for this to work.)
It worked in both cars! (Hope it stays working.....?)
You will have to reset wallpaper, and most other settings, as well.  Certainly worth the trouble to get car Bluetooth up and running properly.
    Good luck.

  • IPhone 6 (with iOS 8.0.2 Bluetooth Issue (with BlueAnt PUMP HD Sportbuds)

Well, I've got an iPhone 6 with iOS 8.0.2 and I can't pair my BlueAnt Pump HD buds to the phone.... Bluetooth is turned on on both devices but the iPhone doesn't seem to recognize my earbuds, it keeps searching, any help would be appreciated, thanks....

    Hey EraVulgaris,
Thanks for the question, and congratulations on your new iPhone 6! It is my understanding that you are experiencing issues using a third-party bluetooth device with your iPhone - The following resources should help troubleshoot any issues you are experiencing:

  • When will these issues with iOS 8.0.2 be fixed?

Admittedly, this problem has been going on since Apple released the core iOS 8 software, but it's glaring (worse) here. Let's go to the beginning.
I own an iPhone 4S 8gb and upon release of the core iOS 8 software, I installed it like a fool and I didn't know that a lot of problems came with it, so the next morning, my iPhone's internet (connected to a WiFi network) was shotty as sin and I really needed it at the time because of a Transit thing I was doing until recently. The features that came with the iOS 8 is impressive, but I also was shocked when I couldn't even listen to my music for a whole day (I fixed that when I hooked up and synced in iTunes), despite my library having the same number of songs before the update on the iPhone. Now, I've heard of these problems from a friend who apparently works for the Apple tech department days after I discovered them myself, so I waited for the next update in hopes that it'd fix all of the core iOS 8's problems, but... short and to the point, this update is even worse than the core software. Problems include, but not limited to:
Safari lags like crazy at times, especially when you're trying to type something. Also, Safari seems to not direct you to Google unless you searched for the topic again; I don't like doing that. I like typing in a research topic in Google's engine only once.
Siri is much worse than the 7.1.2 software; the assistant can't tell what you're saying 69% of the time. I'm also not pleased with holding the home button to speak to the assistant and continue holding it until you finish speaking to her/him.
Apps freeze and become unresponsive and in common cases, they crash in the middle of the night (a perfect example would be YouTube) while I'm sleeping (not 100% sure who's to blame for this, Apple or the app developers themselves).
(refer to the lagging Safari bullet) The keyboard lags on you badly and I'm not just talking about Safari, this problem is every where you need the keyboard in, including basic texting in iMessage.
The Music app apparently can't judge your selection at times, like, when you select a song from your library, it takes 3 hard pushes on the touchscreen to select it and sometimes, it randomly selects the next song under the one you want to listen to.
Did I mention the constant lag?
I'll probably find more problems as I scan though the iPhone tonight, but above are the main problems that I have with 8.0.2, not 8. I know what you're probably saying: "Why not just downgrade back to 7.1.2 where you didn't have barely any problems at all with your iPhone?" Well, apparently, Apple stopped signing the software when I tried to restore the iPhone in iTunes to that firmware, so I find it completely pointless to try to downgrade. My core question is "When will these issues with iOS 8.0.2 be fixed?" I know the iPhone 4S can work with the newest iOS, because, if it wasn't, iTunes wouldn't have notified me of the update. I was thinking of getting an iPhone 6 or 6 Plus June or July of next year, but if the software is still buggy at the time, I'll stick to my 4S until my contract ends at the end of 2015

Also, I've noticed that the 4S' battery life is horrible even if there's just music going on in the background. Common battery life for the iPhone is 3 hours (just having music and data active) and most of the time, I'd have to carry my USB charging cable with wall socket so I don't have to worry about it shutting down on the go and I know it's the software that's the problem because it wasn't like this prior to iOS 8.0.2 or even the core iOS 8. Common battery life for the iPhone on iOS 7.1.2 was atleast 7-9 hours on the same conditions as listed above.

  • Anyone else had issues with phone network being unavailable on iPhone 4 since updating to iOS 5.0.1? My iPhone 4 is continually searching for a network and does not find my provider. I swapped SIMs with another iPhone 4 on ios 4 to confirm device problem.

Has anyone else had issues with phone network being unavailable on iPhone 4 since updating to iOS 5.0.1? My iPhone 4 is continually searching for a network and does not find AT&T, my provider. I swapped SIM cards with another iPhone 4 running ios 4 and established this is a device problem, not a SIM card problem.

Does the device get any signal?
Sounds like the device may have had a hardware failure.  If it is out of warranty, the only option is the Out of Warranty replacement.
AppleCare is only an option if it is still under the original warranty.

  • Is there an issue with iOS 8.2?

It seems like there are a lot of people that are experiencing issues with iOS 8.2.  I guess it was just a coincidence that this happened to me when I unknowingly updated my iTouch out of the box.
Missing songs and playlists after update
Nothing has worked to fix this.  Is there an Certified Apple representative on this board that can address this with all of us?  If so, what is the timeframe for fixing these issues?

Does the iOS device connect to other networks? If yes that tends to indicate a problem with your network.
Does the iOS device see the network?
    Any error messages?
    Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Has anyone had app update issues with iOS 8.1?

I'm running iOS 8.1 on a iPhone 6+.  If I try to update an app from the app store without being logged in, it will hang the process and the update will fail.
Previously, with my iPhone 4 and iOS 7.1.2 the app store would ask me to log in when an app update was attempted without being logged in.
The work around until apple fixes this bug is to ensure you are logged in BEFORE attempting an app update.  An honest techie at the local apple store admitted this is a bug (one of many) in iOS 8.1.  Has anyone else had this issue with iOS 8.1

Nope, I'm able to update an app in iOS 8.1, even if I'm not first logged into the iTunes & App Store in Settings.  It prompts me to update the app, then I sign in with my password.
Do you have Touch ID enabled for App Store or not?

    Hi Eslam El-Gammal,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that after resetting your iPhone, you are being prompted for Apple ID information that is not yours. This can happen if an iPhone is restored without turning off the Find My Phone feature. For more information on this, please refer to the attached article.

  • Issues with IOS and WPA2 Enterprise

    Hi,
Done a lot of searching on this, but can't find anything useful!
I've got a network running WPA2 Enterprise using AES and PEAP/EAP-MSCHAP-V2
For some reason, all our apple IOS devices connect to the network fine and are able to accept the server certificate, but can't seem to access anything over the network such as the internet once connected. I'm currently testing an iPad mini with IOS 7.0.4
I have other devices such as laptops and a Windows Phone 8 devices, and everything works fine.
Am I missing something here? What could be causing the IOS devices to stop accessing the network?
    Cheers,
    Carl.

I just found this on the frontline support site, I believe my question has been answered:
    Important Notice

This can cause issues with iOS devices being able to connect to the Afaria server as the current database field size is not adequate to facilitate the variable length of this value.

There is an Apple issue that we have found in our testing that occurs when iOS devices are enrolled. This issue fails a check when the enrollment payload is inspected and the signing cannot be read. SAP believes Apple will fix this issue prior to iOS 7.1 being released but we are working on a patch that will address this issue shortly in case the fix does not make the iOS 7.1 GA release.
Afaria will be providing a patch to address this issue that increases the size of the database column from 2K to 6K to accommodate this change.
This issue is resolved in Service Pack 3 Hot Fix 39 and Service Pack 4 Hot Fix 3. Available now.
