Blurry Logos/Text

Finishing up a project and messed up on some chapter markers (entered them in the clips). Corrected that, but now our text and logos come in blurry. We even went to another project and cut and pasted the "Clear" Logo+type, but in the new project it looks horrible. Also, when we imported the logo, it came in Extra large and we had to scale it down. Why is it doing this? Probably a simple fix, but can't seem to figure it out!

What version are you using? The current version has a user preference that defaults to scaling anything put in a sequence to fit that sequence. So if you put a small logo in the sequence it scales it up. You can switch this off in the prefs Editing panel. Then the image will go into the sequence at whatever size it is.

  • Probleme with AE/Element 3D Shattered Glass - Mirror Logo Text Reveal

    Hi,
Hope you will understand me, i'm french so it's a little bit complicated to speak in english.
My problem is not very hard i think, but i don't find any answer and i'm a beginner in AE & Elements 3D.
I paid 3D Shattered Glass - Mirror Logo Text Reveal and i substitute the logo instead of my logo.
In the original video as you can see, there is not a glass behind the logo. and when i subsitute with my new logo, there is a glass...
I just want to do like the video, have my logo wich set up my logo in the form of glass , not my logo inside a glass...
Hope you understand me and have an answer.
    Sincerly

Thanks to you for the answer.
I have scaled my screenshot because there is a size to respect for put it here.
I do what you said to me, open the logo in the folder, and do the same for mine logo.
But there is the same result, i don't know why... I don't know where i can see a solution. I have this template at the beginning. I have done that to modify the logo :
    - Open project first
    - then go inside of "logo here" com. Remove envato logo and drop your logo or text here.
    - Your logo must have an alpha channel for proper work of project. place your logo proportional to center of comp
    - After placing logo go inside of "packshot" com. select the layer named "auto traced logo heere" and remove this layer
    - select layer comp named 'logo here' and go to the upper menu ''layer/auto trace..". the hit ok. This will create a new auto traced layer
    - Select layer named element and bring custom layers/custom text masks. from path layer 1's drop down menu select your newly created "auto traced logo here" layer.
    - after these processes please go to the any frame in 8th, 9th second, select layer named "logo overlay" and adjust scale and position of layer to fit front surface of 3D extruded element logo (this stape i've don't understand)
    Thanks for helping me..

Please don't scale your screenshot. Try again and maybe there is something we can do to help.
Please select your logo in the Project panel so we can see the image details.
Here's where I would start. Open the template. Open all folders inside the project panel until you find the original logo that came with the project. Right click on that logo and find it in your folder. Open the original logo and check the size and format. Go back to the After Effects Project Panel and right click on the original logo again and select replace footage. Browse to your original logo. All Done....

  • ITunes 10.6 store blurry/fuzzy text?

I am using Windows 7 X64 SP1 with the latest updates from Microsoft.
I am currently using a Nvidia GTX 460 graphics card, with the latest Nvidia drivers.
I have tried repeatedly to reset iTunes store cache, emptied Windows temp files, does repair options on both iTunes as well as Quicktime.
I have also tried resetting both ClearType (including trying it turned off completely), and reset video card driver settings.
I have tried to re-install both iTunes and Quicktime. I even uninstalled iCloud, and Safari. Still no effective change or improvement in any of those cases.
Yet, the problem still remains. Many times when I try to browse the iTunes store, the text is very blurry and fuzzy and difficult to read. Sometimes the text becomes completely unreadable.
    Anyone else have similar experiences?
Anyone know of a workaround, or should I just delete both iTunes and quicktime, and go back to iTunes 10.5 until their is a fix? It all started with the latest iTunes update that supposedly changes how it displays artwork and things. I can't tell any real difference between 10.5 and 10.6 in the case of artwork, but the display of text is getting very frustrating.

Ha! Issue solved. The track not showing the arrows was a PDF in iTunes. All is well.

  • I have blurry, faded text in Firefox 4 (but not FF 3 or Chrome)

    [http://img405.imageshack.us/i/firefox4text.png/ http://img405.imageshack.us/i/firefox4text.png/]
Here is an example from Youtube. Ever since I upgraded from Firefox 3.6 to 4, my text is blurry and thin and hard to read, it looks terrible. This also happens in IE ever since I upgraded to IE9, but I don't care since I rarely ever use IE.
Out of desparation I installed Chrome just so I could browse without struggling to read text, and the text is clear and perfect there.
Can someone please help me get a usable installation of Firefox again? I love the addons and features of Firefox, but not if I can't READ when I'm using it...

    Try to disable hardware acceleration.
    * Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
If disabling hardware acceleration works then check if there is an update available for your graphics display driver.

  • Windows 8 Blurry/Fuzzy Text

    Hi everyone,
I recently installed Windows 8 and i noticed that the screen puts a lot of strain on my eyes compared to Windows 7. It seems like the screen/text is blurry/fuzzy a bit putting strain on my eyes. It is not as crisp as it was in Windows 7. Almost too powerful?
    Anyone else experiencing this issue?

I bought an Asus laptop with a 1920 x 1080 resolution 15.6" screen and windows 8 and I find the screen is tiring. The laptop has an i7-4700HQ cpu with onboard gpu and a separate nVidia gpu for higher demand games and applications.
There is some Eye strain with this laptop. I have suspected:
    1) the small text as I am entering presbyopia world at 44 this year, or;
    2) perhaps it is the pwm way that led backlights are controlled in lcd screens.
    3) I've heard windows 8 and newer text is problematic.
I do change the scaling of the text in windows on the laptop, and in apps like Google Chrome and IE, but that does not worsen anything. Scaling isn't worse, it only makes things bigger and easier to read, which seems to help, but I still get tired looking at
the laptop screen. I have Clear Type on and without it, things look worse. I have tried various brightness levels. The text on the laptop seemed to look nice at first. I thought it looked "smooth", perhaps because of the high resolution of the screen
(it is non-reflective matte). I suppose that is because of the higher resolution. In reality though, I find I am straining to focus on it. It seems oddly soft.
What I don't understand, is why is it when I connect my older 17" lcd monitor to the laptop and use that as the only display, the text in windows 8 on that monitor is also blurry, and worse than it was when I used the 17" lcd display with my AMD64 desktop with
    XP Pro.
Is it the display card or windows 8? Not sure what to do.

    Hello
I have been having issues booting up an iMac computer, it doesn't get past the apple logo before prodcuing text and a greyed out screen that refers to 'Panics', 'double Panics', kernal traps, deBuggers?
Not sure where to even begin really.

  • Applying GradientPaint to logo text in an Applet

    Hello everyone!
I'm trying to come up with a pleasing text appearance in an applet's logo title I'm working on. I'm wondering if there's an easy way to apply a gradient to text (with a larger font, of course). And while I'm at it, does anyone have any interesting appearance ideas to apply to text for something like my current project. Thanks!

I'm wondering if there's an easy way to apply a gradient to textSure thing. See my [_Visual Font Designer_|http://tips4java.wordpress.com/2008/11/30/visual-font-designer/] for the approach using a Font created using a Map of TextAttribute.

  • Blurry Logo in Outlook Email Signature

    Hi,
We have a logo in our company signature and when certain people send an email many times the logo become blurry. Some of these people have exchange accounts while others have POP account that seem to work fine. Does anyone know how to solve this issue. I
already tried changing the picture to 96dpi and different image formats such as jpg, png, bmp, etc. The logo is hyperlinked to the company website. It seems that removing the hyperlink solved the issue. However, there are also social media icons that are hyperlinked,
which we would like to keep the way they are. Does anyone know another solution besides removing the hyperlink and is it some error with exchange account.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
Please try the following steps to see the result:
    1. Navigate to the following folder:
    C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Signatures
    2. Find the <signature name>.htm file and open it in Notepad.
    3. In the Notepad file, press Ctrl + F to open the
Find dialog. Search for <img tag.
    4. Change the width and height values to the exact pixel values of the original image.
    5. Save the <signature name>.htm file and try sending an email to test the issue again.
Please let me know the result.

  • Blurry Menubuilder Text

Hi, I'm creating a menubuilder project to link several
different movies together. When I preview the menu, the text and
tootips are clear. Once I export the project however, the text
    appears blurry and most unprofessional.
It doesn't matter whether I export to .swf or .exe and it
also doen't seem to matter what font I use, all fonts come out
blurry. I've had no such issues with the movies themselves, just
with this menubuilder project. I'm using Captivate Version 1.01 Any
    suggestions?! Thanks in advance

    Do not export to exe
OR swf. Export to HTML instead.
Your problem is probably that the Captivate SWF is NOT
scalable (as a Flash SWF would be), and since the Captivate SWF
depends on the HTM for proper sizing information, I'm guessing your
problem is warping due to the SWF being viewed at the wrong size.
    Just a guess of course.

  • Blurry moving text

First post on here, I'm new to Premiere. Having issues with the edges of text being blurry/jagged (only if it's moving) when I go to export my video. Thought that maybe it was because I had imported a Photoshop file with text layers but the problem persists even when using Premiere titles. I was intending to export it as H.264 but tried QuickTime with similar results. I also messed with the Maximum Render Quality buttons as well as the "Render at Maximum Depth" in the export video settings. I know the idea for best results is to match export settings to sequence settings which I attempted to do but I'm not sure what the "Upper VBR, 1 pass, Target 10.00 Mbps, Max 12.00 Mbps AAC, 320 kbps" is all about, all of the outputs seem to have more listed than the source.
Hopefully  I've provided enough information, any help is appreciated!

I found the YouTube presets, much appreciated! The animation is smooth now, but now text and straight edges are jagged (I can't seem to win with this thing...)

  • Classic logo text effect

I'm not sure exactly what you call this text effect, but it is a surefire method of generating a classic 3D text effect. I'm trying to find a tutorial, but can only find cheesy "3D" effects with lots of glows and the like to give a glassy look.
Is it just a matter of copying and pasting the font in place, then enlarging so that you alternate a colored font fill, light fill, then colored again? Or is there another, better method. Readability is paramount since this is for a logo.

Like John said: all on one text object. Like this: The bottom word is before, the Appearance Panel is the the top one. With Type selected, use Add New Stroke twice. Change color and weight as needed, then drag them (in the panel) to below Characters.

  • Grainy & blurry color text

Hi, does anyone know why color text would appear grainy or blurry in print?  Illustrations and black text are perfect, it's just the color text...

    It's a printer problem.
Is there a way to fix it?
There may not be. The amount of registration drift may be within the functional tolerances of your printer. (Impossible to judge; no one knows from your photo how large the type is, but it appears small.) A certain amount of paper movement as it moves through a laser printer is unavoidable. The four process colors are not laid down by a single toner drum.

  • Blurry fuzzy text

    Hello,
I'm having an interesting problem with text. Using a slide
from the Captivate 2 sample movie, titled Soft-Skills Sample.cp,
when I type new text onto one of the slides in a transparent text
caption it looks blurry when I play the movie. However, when I type
new text onto that same slide in a different text box and include a
bulleted item, the text looks much clearer when I play the movie.
Why is does this occur. I am interested in knowing because I would
like to keep the text as clear as possible. Any ideas are
appreciated. I can even send a sample slide if anyone is interested
in seeing the problem first hand. Thanks.

    Hi Kelly
There are essentially two different ways to "fix" the fuzzy text. If it's a one off, you may add a line or three at the bottom of the Caption. Then configure the bottom line with a bullet. After that, size the caption so you don't see the bullet.
Or, if you want to influence all transparent captions, click Edit > Preferences > Project > SWF Size and Quality and clear the Anti-alias Transparent Captions option.
Keep in mind that this may also be affected by the Windows settings that are configured. Specifically, an option called "font smoothing". If Font Smoothing is enabled on the PC used to edit and publish the Captivate, it also causes another type of Anti-aliasing to occur that is unrelated to what you see in Captivate.
    Cheers... Rick
