BO Data Services 3.2-Job fails with 'TNS:No appropriate service handler err
Hello all -
One of our DS jobs has started failing intermittently showing the following error in its log:
Data flow DataFlow_1 - OCI call <OCIServerAttach> for connection <abc> failed: <ORA-12519: TNS:no appropriate service handler found>.
This has started happening recently after we've upgraded the repository database form Oracle 10g to Oracle 11g (11.1.0.6). The source and target are also 11g.
If anyone has encountered this error before, please can you provide some pointers on how to troubleshoot/resolve this.
TIA.
Regards,
Tarun.
I have found this thread which talks nearly same about your issue.
TNS:listener could not find available handler witht matching protocol stack
The session count has to be decreased, that is the crux that comes out from this thread.
Listener some how have a count of the incoming connection request. If that number tries to go beyond process parameter value, this error is reported. Now I amnot sure that why this is happening in your case as the parameter value is already higher than the incoming connections.
And voilla! You are using XE I believe so its a bug in it. Read this thread,

What happened?
Conversion error "ab_rfccon" from character set 4103 to character set 1100.
When executing a remote function call a conversion error occurred. This
occurred when receiving or sending the data. The conversion error can
only appear, when the data is transferred from a Unicode system to a

Could some one please share some information if any one experienced the issue. Please note that all of our ECC systems are uni-code systems.

Reconciliation worked before integrating OIM with OAM.
Any ideas what could be wrong - or how to investigate this issue?
Thanks
DanielOVD changelog adapter was OK, but OVD URL was missing in the IT resource.
Reconciliation works now.
Thanks for pointing me to correct direction.

Hi all,
knowning that there are already a lot of posts concerning above message, I have to write an additional one as I could not find a solution on the web yet.
Situation:
Windows Server 2008 forest including empty root and two child domains, one child domain does have SCCM SP1 (central primary site WND) installed on W2k8 x64 machine including WSUS 3.0 SP1 => everything is working fine.
Second child domain also contains a SCCM SP1 server (primary site HUN) running on W2k8 x64 and is defined as child site of central site WND => everything is working fine too - except Software Updates.
WSUS 3.0 SP1 installed on both SCCM servers by creating additional web site (not using "defautl web site") and configured ports 8530 and 8531 (SSL not used!). No proxy necessary/used. All WSUS 3.0 requirements for W2k8 are installed (IIS roles)
Error:
SMS_WSUS_CONFIGURATION_MANAGER - MessageID 6600:
SMS WSUS Configuration Manager failed to configure upstream server settings on WSUS Server "xxxx0003".
Possible cause: WSUS Server version 3.0 SP1 and above is not installed or cannot be contacted.
Solution: Verify that the WSUS Server version 3.0 SP1 or greater is installed. Verify that the IIS ports configured in SMS are same as those configured on the WSUS IIS website.
wsusutil checkhealth =>OK
downloading updates from WSUS at central site (SUSDB and WSUS folder equal in size) =>OK
wsus admin console able to connect and configuration possible => OK
IIS ports configured within SMS are equal to those configured for WSUS website
SCCM config (using Configuration Manager Console) does look correct - ConfigMgr Software Update Point role properties and Software Update Point Component properties
wcm.log does report an error: (SCCM Log files at the end.)
"The request failed with HTTP status 503: Service Unavailable"
IIS log files of both websites (default web site and WSUS Administration website) do not show any errors.
Questions:
What else should I look at? (registyr, SUSDB content,..)
What exactly does happen during the attempt to configure the upstream server by the SMS_WSUS_Configuration_Manager component? I guess a SMS process tries to contact a webservice - would it be possible to debug in more detail ?
And finally - Who does know the solution ?

Check the time on your Exchange server(s) relative to the DCs and ensure they are in correct sync
Use another account which is assigned the Organization Management permission and log to to the server run the command in shell and see the results
Run
Add-PSSnapin -Name Microsoft.Exchange.Management.PowerShell.E2010
Set-Adserversettings -ViewEntireForest $True and then run message tracking command and see the results
If none of the above helps you may need to remove and re-install the WinRM and see the results
Good Luck :)

While executing SOLMAN_CONNECT tcode, I get the error
SEND_SYSTEM_RELATIONSHIP_TO_SUPP job fails with "No customer numbers in transaction AISUSER".
SAP note
Note 1351731 - Termination SEND_SYSTEM_RELATIONSHIP_TO_SUPP/SOLMAN_CONNECT
says problem fixed against ST 400 with SP SAPKITL431.
I'm running NW 7.0 SPS 15 which has ST 400 SAPKITL425.
I need to get SAPKITL431. but when I search SWDC for this package, I can only find SAPKITL430. I need to get SAPKITL431 in the download basket and have someone at SAP to turn off the MOPZ requirement so I can use DLManager to get the SP dlownloaded and installed. Are there other dependent SPs required. Or am I better off downloading SPS 16 or later.
I need the MOPZ requirement turned off for this until I can get the fix and get MOPZ up and running.Hi Andreas,
AISUSER was unchanged, which contained the S-user # for user DDIC and myself.
I went thru the steps in note 1140822, eventhough I had turned off BAdI months ago when I was setting up the RFCs for SAP-OSS. I maintain just one S-User. Therefore followed option 2 in the note.
Trying to implement snote 114822.
An exception with the type CX_SY_OPEN_SQL_DB occurred, but was neither handled locally, nor declared in a RAISING clause
Exception of class CX_SY_NO_HANDLER
An exception of type 'CX_SY_OPEN_SQL_DB' occurred, that was not caught anywhere in the call hierarchy. It was not handled locally or declared using a RAISING clause.
TC SE19 shows AI_SDK_SP_RFC_RP as active.
Selected New BAdI and Display.
Re-executed note 1140822 and it worked this time. Apparently, the display of AI_SDK_SP_RFC_RP activated this implementation.
Snote 1140822 completed. I set process status to completed.
I reran MOPZ under tc solution_manager. I now get a different error. ERROR: E:/TMWFLOW/MO_BACKEND:025.
I forced a run immediately on SEND_SYSTEM_RELATIONSHIP_TO_SUPPORT, whcih ran successfully NOW.
Now MOPZ runs fine and I can see my files to download. I did not have any logical systems to select, but MOPZ did pickup some patches anyway. Not sure why no logical systems at this point. I defined a few logicals for both SM and satellite systems. I'll address this issue separately and open new thread, if need be.
The one question that remains is using SE19 to display status of AI_SDK_SP_RFC_RP appears to of activated it. Is this right? It fixed something such that now the applying the snote worked in de-activating it.
Thanks for all your help.

ORA-12519, TNS:no appropriate service handler found on OdiSqlUnload
Hi all,
I'm using OdiSqlUnload in a target code of a procedure, where the output of the source code is the parameter.I'm using the source connection as parameters to the target connections:
OdiSqlUnload "-FILE=#filename" "-DRIVER=<%=odiRef.getInfo("SRC_JAVA_DRIVER")%>" "-URL=<%=odiRef.getInfo("SRC_JAVA_URL")%>" "-USER=<%=odiRef.getInfo("SRC_USER_NAME")%>" "-PASS=<%=odiRef.getInfo("SRC_ENCODED_PASS")%>" -FILE_FORMAT=variable "-FIELD_SEP=," "-ROW_SEP=;" "-DATE_FORMAT=yyyyMMddHHmmss"
It loops ok for a few times but then I get ORA-12519, TNS:no appropriate service handler found error.
Do you have an idea, or do you think the best way to export the data to csv using regular IKMs?

Also why do u want to update oracle parameters instead of solving the base issue.
Oracle docs note this about ORA-12519:
ORA-12519: TNS:no appropriate service handler found
Cause: The listener could not find any available service handlers that are appropriate for the client connection.
Action: Run "lsnrctl services" to ensure that the instance(s) have registered with the listener, and are accepting connections.
This is something about the error. Try the action point there.

ORA-12519 TNS:No appropriate service handler found!
Dear All,
I am facing a strange problem since yesterday and it happened for 4 times now.
My database is 10gR2 and Linux is the operating system.
There is not much load on DB but some users while connecting to DB get this error:
ORA-12519 TNS : No appropriate service handler found.
Howe ever there existing sessions remain open and they are fine. Problem is only faced when the new connection if in process.
I think that maybe some procedure is opening up connection in loop and not closing it at the end, but how to find this procedure.
This is the output of my processes parameter:
SQL> show parameter PROCESSES;
NAME TYPE VALUE
aq_tm_processes integer 0
db_writer_processes integer 1
gcs_server_processes integer 0
job_queue_processes integer 10
log_archive_max_processes integer 2
processes integer 150
Kindly help.
Regards, Imran BaigWell, I have manually added the entry in bold and restarted the listener. This is my listener.ora file now.

ORA-12519 TNS NO APPROPRIATE SERVICE HANDLER - ERROR
Hi,
We are using JDeveloper 11g for developing our web applications in our company and connecting oracle database through DB Connectivity option. We give the informations like username, password, hostname, sid, port number for getting the DB connectivity and developing web applications through ADF Faces in JDeveloper 11g, and around 25 people are getting connected to Database and developing their respective pages.
For first 30 minutes there is no DB problem, working quitely. After 30 minutes we are getting the error ORA-12519 TNS No appropriate service handler error, we tried to solve this problem by raising process number to 200 in init.ora file and killed the inactive sessions by getting session id from V$session table and restarted the DB Server. But still we are having this problem ORA-12519, after 30 minutes of starting the DB Server.
Can anyone suggest or help to overcome this problem ORA-12519.
Thanks
