BO Edge 3.1 folders locations

Hello,
I have the default install for BO edge 3.1 server.
I wanted to know the location of the folders where the server stores the universe files and the rest of the objects in order to back it up.
Also I wanted to know the location of the MySQL database folder that stores the repository - in order to back it up.
Thanks in advance for your help,
Eran.

Hi
You have to copy the File store, default location will be <Install Drive>Business Objects>Business Objects 12.0>FileStore>
Here you will have both Input/Output file stores, If you want to take the backup of universes,Folders, reports you have to back up Input, If you want to back up Instances (scheduled report instances) you need to take the back up of OutFile Store
MySql : To backup the My sql DB, I suggest you to download MySQL Manager and do a backup.

  • ITunes Won't Add Folders Located on Network Drive

I have my music on a shared network drive. I'm trying to rebuild my library. I can add folders and files from a local directory. The network drive has been assigned a drive letter in WinXP. However, when I try to use "Add Folder to Library" on any folder with music from the network, iTunes basically just ignores the command. iTunes doesn't show that the files are being added and the files in the folder are never added. I've also tried dragging a folder onto iTunes, with similar results.
However, I can add the actual music files into iTunes (from "Add Files to Library" for example). With 1,000s of songs across over 100 directories with subdirectories, I don't really want to do it that way; I want to just add the folder. I can see all of the files and folder, and I can play the files, so I don't think it is a permissions issue.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Hello,
Hopefully somebody can help with my similair problem. I have all my music in mp3 format on my linux server, which runs glftpd + scripts that catalogue the mp3 upon upload into genres/year/artist to make for easier finding of songs. I then use samba to access the shares within the glftpd directory structure, e.g.; /glftpd/site/mp3/albums.. I have added this share into windows as a mapped drive (M:\). The problem is this, whilst I can add the folder/drive into iTunes, i cant manually update the album art. iTunes does find some are for the albums, but I have a different source which I want to use to update the art. I also noticed that its not just the art I cant edit, its the track info. This i expected becuase the tracks reside on a network share which glftpd has probably locked permissions on, however the album art i cant understand becuase the library resides on my windows pc.
    Any ideas ?

  • DVD Player - Where are the language folders located?

In attempting to free-up HD space, I accidently deleted ALL of my languages from the Open Apple-I window of DVD Player. They luckily went to the trash, and I recovered the English.Iproj folder. All I need to do is find a home for it, but alas, even Spotlight will not reveal its location. I might add that I was following a recent MacWorld article!

Control-click it, choose Show Package Contents, and put them into the Contents/Resources/ folder.

  • Multiple apple IDs with one PC... can we have separate PhotoStream folders/locations?

There are six iphone users in our household.  Four are still using the family PC.  I have been using PhotoStream ever since it became available (ios5 update?) and I like using it.  Can my children also use PhotoStream from their iphones without mixing all of our photos together on the PC?  They each have their own Apple ID.

    Hello Robyn,
Thank you for providing the details of your predicament.  Your household may benefit from having multiple user accounts on the PC to individually manage your photos and media.
I recommend reviewing the section titled "Create multiple user accounts" in the following article:

  • Sync all photo's- iOS Windows multiple devices and locations

I have multiple folders, locations, devices that have photo's including many duplicates. What is the easiest way to sync all devices, get rid of all duplicates? I am using icloud,ipad2,5S and Windows professional.  In a perfect world, once I get all organized, using iCloud, all devices will sync with each other and won't have this mess or photo's stored all over the place.  Thanks in advance.  AlanCBMC

Maybe, although I always thought there was a threshold for each device below which it wouldn't have to create an "optimized" (re-sized) version.  You'd think this would be a high number for the New iPad, giving the screen resolution.  For example, my re-sized (3072 on the long edge) pictures aren't being optimized before tranfer -- they're just copying over and they work just fine.
Who knows.  I just got off the phone with a tier-2 AppleCare rep (I found this thread while we were on the phone), and he indicated he would pass this thread along to the engineers.  It's a pretty obvious bug somewhere in the mix, and one I suspect they'll be all over right away, given the attractiveness of the new iPad to photography types.

  • There are about 8 songs in a playlist on itunes that are listed in the playlist but cannot be transferred to my ipod because it states: "..the original file could not be found." When I try to locate the song I get a list of the different music librar

There are about 8 songs on a playlist that are listed in the playlist library but when I try to transfer them to the playlist, it states that they can't be transferred because the original file could not be found. Then it asks, do you want to locate the file but when I try that I get a few libraries but am not sure how to locate the particular songs. Some of the songs were purchased and some were transferred from a CD. I have seen the same question asked on the help page but haven't found an answer.
    Thanks.

    Hi dones49,
It sounds like your issue here is that iTunes can not find the files for some of the songs you have brought into it. This happens occasionally even if the songs have not been moved from the location that iTunes places them on import or purchase. When you try to use the song, iTunes prompts you to find the file, as you have seen.
To find the file, use the information in this article to navigate through the iTunes media folders -
Locate and organize your iTunes files
If you are still unable to locate the files, you may need to download them from the iTunes store again, or rip them from your CDs. See this article for assistance with downloading your past purchases -

  • How can I restore my playlist folders in itunes? They are there but the individual song titles aren't listed. They are only listed by album. This makes it very difficult to find songs in my playlist.  Also, when I click on music, it will not list options.

My itunes account is messed up. How can I restore my playlist folders in itunes? The list's are there but the individual song titles aren't. They are only listed by album. I can only see the song titles as they are played at the top of my itunes. This makes it very difficult to find songs in my playlist.  Also when in the itunes store, I am not able to see music genre choices, or search for a song or group.
    Thank you

  • Accounts made in o365 can't access legacy public folders - Migrated through 2010/2013 Hybrid can access

We've added two 2013 hybrid servers to our existing 2010 environment.  Added the CAS role to all 2010 mailbox servers per ( https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn249373%28v=exchg.150%29.aspx ) and currently have public folders (located on our
2010 mailbox servers) working in Outlook client for users whose mailboxes have been migrated from on-prem 2010 to o365.  The problem is when we create a new user in o365, that user CAN see that we have public folders via Outlook client, but when we expand
the public folder list a credential window pops up and will not accept any set of credentials (even those of working hybrid migrated accounts).
We are following this method when creating new o365 accounts:
    1) Make a user in AD
    2) Dirsync the user
    3) License the user for exchange
    4) Run on on-prem mailbox server via Exchange Management Shell: Enable-RemoteMailbox "[email protected]" -RemoteRoutingAddress "[email protected]"
    5) In o365 Remote Exchange Powershell run: Get-Mailbox -identity "[email protected]" |fl Identity,ExchangeGUID
    6) Copy ExchangeGUID
    7) Back on on-prem mailbox server via Exchange Management Shell: Set-RemoteMailbox "[email protected]" -ExchangeGUID <paste GUID here>
    8) Dirsync the user again
I've compared two Remote User Mailboxes, ones that were migrated via Hybrid, and ones that were created in o365 and the settings look identical outside of the attribute "RemoteRecipientType" is set to Migrated vs ProvisionMailbox.  I'm not
sure what else the difference in these accounts could possibly be that would be causing this credential failure.
    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    Hi,
Please do the following steps to create an Exchange Online mailbox in your Hybrid environment:
Method 1: Create a remote mailbox for an existing user.
If you already have created a user in Active Directory, and the user has already been synced to online with license, we can give that user a mailbox in Exchange Online by using the Exchange Management Shell cmdlet Enable-RemoteMailbox on
    your on-premise Exchange server:
    Get-User “User1” | Enable-RemoteMailbox
Then the mailbox is enabled with an Exchange Online mailbox. We can check the mailbox by running the following command in On-premise Exchange server:
    Get-RemoteMailbox “Test1” | FL *address*
Method 2: Directly create a new remote mailbox.
    1. Create the remote mailbox in On-premise Exchange server by running:
    $Credentials = Get-Credential
    New-RemoteMailbox -Name "Test2" -Password $Credentials.Password -UserPrincipalName
    [email protected]
    2. Launch dirsync and assign a license to the newly created user with Office 365 account.
Then Test2 can sign in, using his on premises credentials, and open his online mailbox.
For more information about the remote mailbox, please refer to:

  • How to move Downloads, Movies, Music& Pictures folders to an external drive

I have a 2008 iMac which hard disk (as you probably know) is not upgradable. After 16 months of use the disk became full so I bought an external firewire drive (1T LaCie d2). My plan is to move most folders located under /Users/username/ (the Documents, Downloads, Movies, Music and Pictures folders) to the external drive and replace them with aliases.
Searching on the net, I found instructions on how to move the iTunes Music folder and how to change iPhoto default photos folder. I then moved the said folders and their contents to the external drive and created the aliases. Now when I try to delete the folders for their original location I get a message stating that "folders cannot be modified or deleted because they are required by Mac OS X". I know that I can delete these folders using terminal Unix commands but is this the correct approach?
Or should I go and create a new user account using as Home directory a folder located on the external drive? Or, alternatively, just change the existing user Home to one in the external drive?
I think my question is important and of general interest and I was really disappointed to find out that Apple has no documentation on this subject (or at least, I couldn't find any).

this happens because they are protected by "deny delete" ACLs.

that's one way to do it. then you can move the folders to teh external and put symbolic links, *NOT aliases* in their original locations.
Or should I go and create a new user account using as Home directory a folder located on the external drive?
Or, alternatively, just change the existing user Home to one in the external drive?
that might be the easiest option. just copy the whole home folder to the external. then go to system preferences->accounts. unlock the lock at the bottom, control-click on your user and choose 'advanced options". in the popup change the location of the home directory to the external. then reboot and when you log in your home directory should be on the external. then you can trash the old home directory on the internal.

  • Can't copy files to network client's folders

We just switched from ARD 2.0 to ARD 3.0. ARD 3.0 is a great product - if it works. I can only copy files to ARD-clients, if I copy to the local hard disk, i. e. if it is a local client or if it is a network client and I copy to the top level of the volume. But if I copy files to the network client's desktop it doesn't work. I think the reason is that the network client's desktop is located on the server and not on the local hard disk.
The same problem occurs if I use the new feature to copy files from or to a client using drag-and-drop with the observe window. It works with the client's local hard disk, but not with folders located on the server. This time there is no error message, but the message "waiting" - and the waiting never terminates.
Has anybody a helping idea? Thanks!
Greetings from the country of the football (soccer!) world cup!
    Horst

I had the same problem, but I managed to fix it.
In WGM check that the sharepoint of your users Home Folder is set to owner root with Read and Write permissions.
I also created an ard_admin group in WGM and enabled open directory management on the client Macs. (Page 62 of the ARD admin Guide.)

  • Network home folders, collaboration sharepoint and Microsoft Word 2008

I'm hoping someone who knows how Microsoft Word 2008 works on network volumes can shed some light on our situation.
We run a small managed network with about 15 leopard clients and a leopard server. We've got two sharepoints, a "homes" share for network home folders, and an "Office" share with our shared office document folders.
Several times a week, users will encounter a situation where Microsoft Word 2008 will claim that a file is open by another user, or that the file can be opened in "read only" mode, even though the file is not in use. Naturally, the problem cannot be replicated when I am present.
    ### My Hypothesis ###
My users are in the habit of quickly borrowing machines from other users to pull up documents in the "office" share by using the "connect as" button. So, for example, userA is logged in to her machine (and is thus connected to the network home folder on the server). userB comes along and borrows her machine -- without logging out, will connect to the shared office folder, pull up and edit/print a document, etc. We're not currently auto mounting the office share.
I know that Microsoft Word creates lock folders located in the .TemporaryItems folder at the root level of the "office" share. The folders are named "folder.xxxx", where xxxx is the userid of the account that created the lock folder. Everyone uses a network account, so everyone has a unique userID. If I list the .TemporaryItems folder using the CLI, i can see lock folders that are several days or a week old. So Word doesn't seem to be cleaning up after itself immediately, at least not always.
So my question: when userB connects to the office share on a borrowed machine (logged in to the client machine using the network home folder of userA), is it possible that word will now create lock folders for userB, and will be unable to clean up lock folders created by userA?
Anyone have other ideas for investigating the "file in use" problem?

Switched user back to the network home folder and adjusted the MS Word preferences so that the autorecovery files would be stored on the local client machine. There doesn't seem to be a comparable setting in the Excel preferences.
My initial testing suggests that this has reduced how often this problem occurs, but has not eliminated it. I tested by repeatedly opening and closing a couple of different word files in rapid succession -- i was able to replicate the "file opens as read only" problem occasionally.
I've talked to Apple server support about this issue. While they were helpful, they didn't have an explanation or solution for this problem. There are a number of postings in the microsoft mactopia discussion boards site where people report similar problems.

  • Crashes every time I try to download folders

I have the CS5 Master Collection
    I'm using a 2.8GHz Intel Core i7 iMac with 16GB DDR3. Mac OSX 10.6.4
I've created a WordPress site. I can upload to it. And I can download single files. But when I try to download folders, Dreamweaver CS5 crashes. Last folder I tried to download contained 30 files and was 262 kb in size - so not big. I've also tried the same thing using my old Dreamweaver CS4 which I've still kept installed. It crashes just the same. However I've been able to download the files using Fetch - no problem
Any ideas what I can do to sort out this problem?

Mail is crashing while processing junk. Try this:
    1. Make sure Mail is not running.
    2. In the Finder, go to HOME/Library/Mail/.
    3. Locate LSMMap2 and move it to the Trash. If you see an LSMMap file there, move it to the Trash too.
    4. Locate MessageRules.plist and move it to the Desktop. If there is a file called MessageRules.plist.backup, move it to the Desktop too. You may also see MessageSorting.plist files there; this is where Mail 1.x stored the rules, and they are no longer used by Mail 2.0, so just move them to the Trash if you see them.
    5. Look for the account folders. The name of each account folder starts with the account type (POP, IMAP, Mac), followed by the account username and the incoming mail server. Open each of the account folders, locate the Junk.mbox folders and move these to the Trash. Note: As a result of doing this, all mail automatically marked as junk by Mail will be lost. If there is a chance that you have legit messages there and you want to preserve them, move them to another mailbox in Mail first -- you may prevent Mail from crashing by shutting down your Internet connection first.
    6. Go to HOME/Library/Mail/Mailboxes/. Locate any Junk.mbox folders there (their name may include the account name in parenthesis), and move them to the Trash. Pay attention to any legit messages that could be there, as in the previous step.
    7. Launch Mail. Go to Mail > Preferences > Junk Mail, enable junk filtering again, and configure it however you wish. You may want to shut down the Internet connection before launching Mail to prevent it from downloading anything until the junk mail filter has been enabled.
If the above solves the problem and you don't have any rules you'd like to preserve or recreating them is not a daunting task, just delete the MessageRules.plist files that were moved to the Desktop and be done with it.

  • Where are the "on my mac" mail folders stored, on my mac?

I can't find the folders located under the "on my mac" label in Mail.  Can anyone help?
I want to ensure I have the files stored.

Ah - I see them now and inside Finder.  They are in the V2.  My local folder structure looks like this:
    Folder1
    Folder2
    Folder3
    --SubFolder1
    --SubFolder2
    ----SubFolder1
    ----SubFolder2
    --SubFolder3
    --SubFolder4
and even more nested than that.  In V2/Mailboxes/Mail Archive.mbox, I did see the three root folders earlier when you first posted that path.  I thought maybe Mail stopped archiving the folders and they were moved, since none of the sub folders were there.  Then I clicked Folder3 and all of the sub folders are there.  I wasn't expecting them to be nested in the file system.

  • Applications, data and folders structure question

I am new to the Mac OS X and wish to setup my folder structure correctly in a multi-disk environment (Mac Pro). I have 2 drives at the moment and plan to add more.
I assume that I should boot the OS from a separate OS disk and put apps and data on different disks. I also understand that Mac OS X uses a structure which includes a "users" folder in the root directory, application folder in root dir and "home" folders located in the "users" folder for various users which contain data.
Is this correct? How do you structure this over several disks? Do you move the "users" folder and or application folders to a different drive or partition? What are considered to be the best practices in that regard?

I never found putting any applications on another drive helps, even with multiple 15K drives.
I would invest in a faster drive for your system though.
And yes, it can help to use 2nd drive for the user account(s)
System control panel "Accounts" - unlock, command + control + click on the account's name and you can set the location of where it is...
    /Volumes/volname/Users/acccount
Just copy or move or set up the folders (Users, and "myaccount") on the drive or partition of drive.
Also, you may want to have a scratch disk or partition, and a media drive or for editing.

  • Sharing and permission issue of folders thru different accounts

    Hello,
After installing Lightroom 5 I've lost permission to write on some sub-folders located on an external drive.
On the screen shot (attached) the main user called "Alfredo1" is not my user account name and as far as I know is not a reall user on my machine.

Is this happening on the original boot drive or on a secondary drive? If the latter, do a 'Get Info' on the drive and click the checkbox for 'Ignore ownership on this volume.' If it's the boot drive, fire up Disk Utility and run the Repair Permissions until it comes up clean. This would not be expected to affect permissions on data files directly, but might allow you to click on the lock so that you can authenticate and change the permissions manually. Possibly you will need to Repair Disk with either DU or Disk Warrior. In any event the lock should never be non-clickable for the original admin user.
If it's a shared volume, check with the server admin or the owner of the hosting computer, ask them to propagate permissions downward.
