Hi Ingo,
I'm Experiencing the same issue described here. My situation is the following. I have a webi report on top of an OLAP universe where the bex queries were running in BW 3.5. Later the client upgraded the system to BW 7.01 SP6 and when trying to re run the webi report it started to fail. I then activated to logging to see what the problem could be and found this error. It looks to me that a dimension is giving the error. Any tips to understand this log?

    Hi nikp11,
    According to your description, you recently updated SQL Server 2008 R2 to SP3, Report Builder doesn’t work since then the error occurs: "Application validation did not succeed. Unable to continue".
    This is an known issue in SSRS 2008 R2 SP3 that Microsoft has published an article addressing this issue. It is not planning to release a fix for this issue. But we could implement one of the following workarounds:
    Install and run Report Builder 3.0 of SQL Server 2008 R2 RTM.
    Install and run Report Builder of SQL Server 2014.
    Uninstall Service Pack 3 then uninstall Service Pack 2 and then reinstall Service Pack 3.
    Reference:
    Report Builder of SQL Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 3 does not launch
    Thank you for your understanding.
    Best Regards,

  • GetCellData error in WebI to SAP BEx Query

    Hi all,
    We have  multicube with a BeX query and and universe. We have created roles with authorizations and restrict users on Retun Line and Business Unit. We have created the authorization variables in the BeX query on Return Line and on Business Unit.
    When we create a query only using Return Line, the authorization works and returns the correct result. When we use only Business Unit we got no results which is incorrect, but when we use a query in Webi with both Return Line and Business Unit we get the following error:
    "A database error occured. The database error text is: Error in MDDataSetBW.GetCellData. See RFC trace file or SAP system log for more details. (WIS 10901)"
    Any ideas where the issue can be? We have double checked the authorizations in BW and they seem fine. We have also assigned ALL BU's on Business Unit in so not to restrict anything.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Jacques

    Hi Ingo,
    We are still having issues with the authorizations. I think this is where the root of all evil is...
    My account has SAP_ALL so I can run eveything just fine.
    An account has been created to test against... XUSER. This user belongs to roles, ZCBW_BARTN_100 to restrict data on the Return, ZCBW_BUPC_B00000 to restrict data in Business Unit and Profit Centre, and a 3rd role ZFBW_GEN_BU_ENDUSER that is used for general authorisations for the user - I think.
    When the report is refreshed an error is raised: Failed to retrieve data form the database.... Database Error:'BAPI error #: 0. Unknown error when executing MDX.' When I remove ZFBW_GEN_BU_ENDUSER from XUSER, Crystal 2008 raises and error in the line of "XUSER has no RFC authorization for function group SYST. So this is leading me to think the issue is in the setup of this ZFBW_GEN_BU_ENDUSER role and certain access/autthorization has been removed preventing the user from executing the MDX via BOBJ correctly.
    When one has a user account, what is the minimum authorization needed in a role to be able to execute queries from BOBJ using the MDX drivers? I think this may resolve the issue as the guys here have really locked down on a lot of stuff.
    Thanks
    Jacques

  • Calling a Web Dynpo appl from POWL gives error

    Hi,
    I have created a custom webdynpro application integrating  with POWL using the document provided by Saurav Mago .Refer the link below
    But I get the following error 'Parameter APPLID contains an invalid value.
    '[Integrating POWL with WebDynpro ABAP|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/60f1d5ee-84ab-2c10-ce97-97dfd89bc238?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true]
    I have searched  SDN , debugged my application and checked the configuration and compared with the standard powl components, as well. But I am not able find out what the issue is.
    I have tested the standard webdynpro apps and my app as well , services are active , the break point also stops in the window/view. But not sure what I am missing.
    Can you please let me know if you got any idea regarding this. Appreciate your response.
    Thanks
    Saujanya

    Hi Thomas,
    Thanks for your response. Please find
    How are you building the URL to test?
    I am using the custom webdynpro application to test it . When I test it using the standard POWL, it works. But if I test from my custom webdynpro application , it gives the dump with this error message.
    Are you sure you Application ID is correct?
    If it works with the standard, I think the config is right
    I have created POWL appli, type , , powl query , mapped the query to the powl applid, activated it, mapped query to the powl type.
    Declared the powl_ui_component in the component usage , view container in the view and  an out bound plug to the view with parameters and code as mentioned below :
    code :
    wd_this->fire_out_plg(
        applid =  'ZTEST_APPLID'                         " string
        forallq =   ''                                   " powl_xflag_ty
        qname =  'ZPOWL_QUERY'                      " powl_query_ty
        qselpara =  ''                        " string
        refresha =  'X'                       " powl_xflag_ty
        refreshq =  ''                        " powl_xflag_ty
        srvgroup =  ''                       " powl_xflag_ty
        powldeltarendering = 'X'
    Can you share the full URL you are testing with here?

    Please let me know if I am missing something.

  • Just one needed particular GoDaddy web hosting account button link gives error in FF but ok in Pale Moon and IE

    Greetings:
    I've searched but am unable to find a clue. Using Win 7 Home Premium (updates current) on HP DV3T-2000 64-bit.
    Recently (possibly after upgrading to FF 14), on godaddy.com on my web hosting product page, clicking the 'Launch' button throws a godaddy error pg. All other launch buttons operate normally, as do 'all' the buttons (including the tricky one) in Pale Moon and IE.
    I have several times cleared the cache and deleted all g-d cookies through options - show cookies; then closed the browser and restarted the machine. I then disabled all add-ons, tried the above again, no difference so have reactivated the plugins (which were and are current as to updates).
    Here is the text from the godaddy error pg:
    "Error
    There was an error in the application. We apologize for the inconvenience. This error has been logged and reported.
    Click here to go back to your account list."
    The word above [Click] 'here' usually does not work either. Below is the url from the address bar: (When going to the url on a clean new tab, the error page pulls up without the 'Click here to go back to your acct list' ):
    https://hostingmanager.secureserver.net/error.aspx?aspxerrorpath=/AccountPanel2.aspx
    (However, people without a g-d acct will not be able to navigate to the web hosting product page.)
    Thank you very much for your help.
    PS:
    This list of Installed Plugins was auto-filled into the text box below the question text box. I do have more plug-ins than this in use which I can supply if needed. Thank you again!

    Hi hedera, when you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
    (1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
    Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
    (You also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
    orange Firefox button ''or'' Tools menu > Options > Advanced
    On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now")
    (2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first) using either of these. While viewing a page on the site:
    * right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
    * Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
    If you can't access the relevant domain without it closing, you can edit the domain at the top of the dialog in order to call up a list of its cookies.
    Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

  • Problem at installation FixPack 3.3 on BOE XI 3.1 SP3

    Hi Colleagues.
    When I try to install FixPack 3.3 on BOE XI 3.1 SP3, I have a problem-progress of installation is stoped on 17% in phase "Running Post Install Actions".
    You can see the last strings in setup's log file (BusinessObjects_FP_3_3.12.3.log):
    ========================================================================

    I think installation process could't to stop SIA and therefore could't go to next phase of installation.
    OS is HP-UX v.11. Also I have a installed BOE XI 3.1 SP3. User for BOE in UNIX is "boeadm".
    I started installation by root. Maybe the problem in this?
    Maybe I should was to start installation by user "boeadm"?
    Please help..
    thanks&regards,
    Yessen

    Well to answer my own question it looks like you do need to run the repair as the same user that did the original install.
    /srv/sap/sap_bobj/ccm.sh -stop all 2>&1
    Warning: This product was installed under username: sap-cr
    Current username is:
    Press Enter to continue...
    After running as the correct user I get this:
    /srv/sap/sap_bobj/ccm.sh -stop all 2>&1
    Stopping all...
    Stopping server_name

  • Using WebI with SAP BW Data - Best practice for introducing BW Accelerator

    Hi,
    We have a significant investment in using BOE XI 3.1 SP2 integrated to SAP BW 7.0 EHP 1 SPS05.
    Now we intend to introduce BW Accelerator to improve the data fetch performance for the Adhoc (WebI) Analysis and the formatted reports built using WebI (Infoview).
    Data handling in question is approx. 2 Million+ records for each WebI report / adhoc analysis (20 to 30 columns).
    The solution could be BW Cubes --> BW Accelerator --> BW Queries --> BO Universe --> WebI using Infoview
    Does it really help in introducing the BW Accelerator like the case described above ?
    Understand that the BW Accelerator could improve the performance of the underlying data and hence the BW Queries do work faster; but does it really improve (9x to 10x) performance for the MDX Queries generated by the BO Universe ( BOE XI 3.1 SP2 ) & WebI.
    What is the roadmap for the future wrt BW Accelerator and SAP BI BO Integration; if we intend to use WebI ?
    Or should be migrate to BO Explorer as the front end for Adhoc Analysis ?
    Is BO Explorer able to present 1 Million + records with 20-30 columns ?
    What is the best practice / better on performance; as an integrated product / solution ?
    1) BW Cubes --> BW Accelerator --> BW Queries --> SAP Integ Kit --> BO Universe --> WebI
    2) BW Cubes --> BW Accelerator --> ??? --> BO Explorer --> ??? --> WebI ???
    3) BW Cubes --> BW Accelerator --> ??? --> BO Pioneer --> ??? --> WebI ???
    4) BW Cubes --> BW Accelerator --> ??? --> BO Explorer
    5) BW Cubes --> BW Accelerator --> ??? --> BO Pioneer
    6) BW Cubes --> BW Accelerator --> BW Queries --> SAP Integ Kit --> Crystal Reports (to handle above data volume)
    7) BW Multiproviders --> BW Accelerator --> BW Queries --> SAP Web Analyzer (to handle above data volume)
    regards,
    Rajesh K Sarin
    Edited by: Rajesh Sarin on Jan 25, 2010 4:05 PM

    Hi,
    We have a mix of Adhoc Analysis (60 %) and Formatted Reports (40%). We selected WebI as the tool for the purpose & used it for requirements which process approx. 2M records. We faced bottleneck issues on performance (we are on BO XI 3.1 SP2 & SAP BW 7.0 EHP1, SP05).
    We are further analyzing possibility to introduce BWA; if this can handle similar record processing & still preserve our investment on OLAP Universes, WebI, SAP Integration Kit & training users on WebI frontend.
    I see a lot of documentation suggesting "BO Explorer and BWA" - understand that BWA would improve the DB time and BO Explorer would help on the Front-end / OLAP time.
    Request your guidance on the road map & continuation of investment using BWA + WebI.
    regards,
    Rajesh K Sarin

  • RHEL 5.7 support for BOE XI 3.1 SP3

    Hi All,
    The supported platform guide for BOE XI 3.1 SP3 says its supports RHEL 5.0
    I would like to know does it also work with 5.7 version?
    Thanks,
    Swapnil Hoderkar

    Hi,
    The version 5.7 RHEL should support the BOE Xi 3.1 Sp3.
    The patch need to be above RHBA-2007:0619-3

  • 10.31GA Weblogic is not supported by BOE integration Kit BOE XI 3.1 SP3

    Hi Team,
    I have successfully installed  BOE XI 3.1 SP3 in our Windows System during the set I have selected the Web Logic domain
    of 10.31 GA location. After that I was trying to install the Integration Kit for this also I have selected the automatic Deploy  option and Web Logic domain of 10.31 GA location but the Kit shows that Incompatible WebLogic version  but I went ahead installed Integration Kit. Kit shown that successfully installed message. But Not even single Apps is deployed under WebLogic Deployments . Could you please advise on this?
    Thanks
    Balan.P

    First of all, there is no reason to start with Xi3.1 SP3. If you're just starting deployment, you should go with Xi3.1 Sp5. Way too many bugs are fixed since Sp3.
    As to the deployment issue, use wdeploy to predeploy all apps for weblogic, then use WL console to deploy those into WL.
    The process is described in the WebApplications deploy guide.
    This manual process is more reliable vs. auto deploy during setup.

  • BO Webi and SAP BW

    Hi,
    I have BOE XI 3.1 + SP2 installed.
    I can create the Universe that point to my SAP BW InfoCube.
    Then I open the WEBI and create the query from the Universe.
    Question:
    Can we create the WEBI directly from SAP BW Query instead of Universe?
    Can we have other connection in WEBI? e.g. create from LiveOffice or database?
    please advise, thanks.

    Hi,
    1. No - you have to use a Universe between WebI and your Cube.
    BTW: We recommend using Queries instead of Cubes due to better performance.
    2. Could you please give some more Informations. WebI always needs a Unvierse. But that Universe can also be from a relational source such as DB2, Oracle, etc.
    Regards
    -Seb.
