BOM CHANGE MANAGEMENT

HI,
we r changing bom with change number.
we changed one bom with one change number(validty next month date).now that change number has not been used for any other bom changes.i want to restrict that change number for further use..
can i activate deletion indicator in change master????
whether it affects my changed bom.

Yes, make it  inactive status so that it cannot be user in other product BOm change.
Otherway use authorization group. Give the authorization to useres who should use it and donot give the authorization to musers whoc not suppose to use that change number.

  • BOM Validity - Using Engineering Change Management

    Hello All,
We are currently reviewing the ECM functionality to assistn in BOM validity maintenance. I have made the necessary changes in SPRO to activate this functionality. My initial testing utilizing the Change Master and associating it with the BOM works fine. However, the question I had was more around having to make retroactive changes. I noticed that the system using the Entered or Created date from the transaction to determine the BOM validity. Is there anyway to influence the BOM validiy to look at document dateof the transaction instead of entered date? Has anyone run into this type of issue before?
    Thanks for your help.
    Gus

    Hi Krishna,
You can use change numbers to change independent (recipe) formula in the PLM-Recipe Management.
The object formula is assigned to the object type specification (type 60 of the change management).
For the object type specification the use of the object management record is not supported in the SAP standard.
Only the change documents are available.

  • How to see any changes done in BOM through Engineering change management?

    Dear experts,
My client need to verify the revision of some assemblies in BOM through ECM.
I tried to verify it by taking some change numbers & executing it in CC03. I am getting the history date & name of person who done the changes. But can not able to see the actual changes.
Could you please tell me how to see the changes done?
Thanks in advance for cooperation & support.
    Regards,
    Mehul Veni

    Dear Mehul Veni,
Assuming you have created a change number through CC01 and made changes in CS02 for a particular BOM by entering this
change number in the input screen in CS02.
Once after making BOM changes, save the data and check in CC03>enter the same change number>menu->environment-
    >reporting->Bill of material--->select the change number and click on expand sub-tree and you will get all the required details.
    Check and revert

  • Help required in OCM-Order change management

    Hi All,
I have to implement the Order change managment. I did few setting which are required and than i created ECR using release key. but using OCM it tells me to first make the changes in MATERIAL BOM than using transaction COCM i can make the changes in required production order.
But my requirement is i want to change the Production BOM or Production routing directly without touching Material BOM .
As sometime it happens only 1 or 2 Order BOM s are need to be changed only not the Material bom. So i want to track the Changes made in Order using OCM.
What is the solution that i can change the Production Bom OR Production Routing directly using OCM and also how can i make the changes in Sales Order.
    Pls do the needful.
    Thanks
    Ravi Khurana

Using Order Change Management (change management for production orders), it is possible to include existing procurement elements (production orders, planned orders, purchase orders) that are also affected by a change, in the change process.
The change process in OCM is based on Initiating Objects. These initiating object records refer to changes in sales orders or in master data, which, in turn, necessitate changes to production orders.
Thus, it is not possible to change the order directly using OCM.

  • Order Change Management activation

    Hi Experts,
I want to activate the OCM (not in production server) to do some research. Can we deactivate it after making research.
Requirement is "to trace the list of production orders that have undergone quantity or dates change".
I would like to know whether it is difficult to deactivate like batch management.
    Regards,
    Jejesh

    Dear,
It is not difficult to deactivate .
    Steps,
In WorkScheduling View of Material Master (FERT/HALB or Any Defined for Production) you need to maintain "Overall Profile"
This Overall profile should be configured in SPRO > PRoduction>Shop Floor Control > Operations>Change Management for Production Orders-->Define Overall Change Profile.
Process of OCM follows this way:
Create a Change Number CC01 with Release Key
In Object Types select/tick "Actv", "object", "MgtRec",
You get the Change Number by Saving .
Use this Change Number to Change BOM or Routings
Then Release the Change Number useing Release Key till then you don't find the Change of BOM in Production Order.
Then go to Oder Change Process T Code :- COCM
Tick Change Number and Select the Change Number & Execute
Select the Production Order, click on Procurement element icon you get another screen select and execute again.
You get an Pop-Up screen. "Determine changes, Check changes, Change Original Order.
you see the changes in BOM for Production Order i.e. after COCM.
Then Confirm the Changes in Production Order then New changes will be Active in production Order.
Use COCM1 to find out the details or CO03--Extra --change
Please check link from page 399.

    Hello check this SPRO settings ;
    Engineering Change Management Setup
This are the basic IMG settings in order to used the engineering change management
    features.
    x refers to a tick.
First setup the control data in OS54.
    Revision sections
    Fields :-
    Revision level active            x
    Ext. revision level              x
    Higher revision level            x
    Object Management Record sections
    Fields :-
    Object maintenance               x
    Assign alternative date          x
    Overide value/assignment date sections
    Fields :-
Only with leading change mst.    x
Setting the Revision level active is to activate the engineering change management for
material master.  If you do not want the engineering change management for materials,
    remove the tick.
With a tick in "Higher revision level", the new revision level has to be always higher
    than the old revision.
Secondly, setup the external number range in OS53.
If you use the internal number range, then remove the external number range.
Third, define the status for the change master records in transaction SM30 - V_T419S.
Change No.     Chg        Date Chg     Dist. Lock      Description
    Status         Poss
      1             x            x             ' '         Active
      2            ' '          ' '            ' '         Inactive
      3            ' '          ' '             x          Locked
Fourth, define modification parameters for the BOM in OS27.
    Fields :-
    BOM Validty Maint.               x
    EC Management Active             x
    History Requirement             ' '
    Unit Piece                      PC
The rest of the fields are blank.
If the History Requirement is tick, every time during creation of the BOM, SAP will
prompt your for an ECN number as is compulsory.
Lastly, define fields selection for routing in OP5A.
PP task lists: initial screen -> Change number -> Transaction code -> Tick Req.
Setting the Transaction code fields Required indicate that you have make the ECN number
    compulsory when changing the routing.
Finally, do a test by making changes to the Material Master, BOM and Routing.

  • BOM change track report.

    Hello All,
I have a requirement where I need to develop a report that represent following fields of BOM change history.
    1. Material (Along with description if possible)
    2. Changed By
    3. Change On
    4. Change Details (Entry, Delete, and replacement data for the item)
    5. Header level change (Change in Base quantity, from to lot size, Bom activation/deactivation)
    6. Plant (Most Important)
I have checked to get it through CS80  Change Documents for Material BOMm but it'svery lengthy task and can't do it one by one.
I have gone through these tables
    STKO --- BOM - header
    STPO --- BOM - item
STAS --- BOMs - Item Selection
    STPN --- BOMs - follow-up control
    STPU --- BOM - sub-item
    STZU --- Permanent BOM data
    But not getting any clue.
NOTE:- I have not implemented the Change document mgmt system (CC01,CC02) and if I do such so then what about the existing changes already done in the system. So, I know it can be achieved by implementing Change mgmt but practically it's not possible for me.
    kindly help!!!!!!!!!
    -- Jimmy

    Dear Jimmy,
I dont think it's possible to prepare a report using the tables or CS80 for the same, without having Engineering Change
    Management.
    Check and revert back.

  • Tracking Production BOM changes in Documents

    Hi,
I am a BW consultant and am working on a report that concerns tracking changes to the BOM code in documents. The situation is
The PP BOM is created and basis that procurement and GR is done. However changes to the PP BOM are frequent and cause problems while MIGO. For example on a certain day a material, lets say A, requires 2 qty of material A2 and on another it requires 1 qty of A2. This causes discrepencies in the inventory. So a report that can give a comparison of the actual qty ( as given by the GR doc) and the ideal qty ( as given by the BOM) can help check this.
To the best of my understanding tracking BOM changes on doc level solve the purpose so that one can spot the state of the BOM on the doc level. Is this possible in std R3 system ? If yes, then what are the entities involved ?
Am aware of a functionality called ECM, Engineering Change Management, but am not sure if that will help here.
    Thanks in advance.
    Saurabh Diwakar

    Dear,
The best way to meet your requirements is to activate Engg. change management.
Then you will get track of all changes .
Check in cs03.enter your material, plant and usage. execute it
then click Environment -> change doc -> Full
    Also try with transaction CS80,CS81.
ECM and do the necessary seetings in T code OS27 - Set Modifications parameters for BOM's ,OS54 - Engineering Change Management Control Data.
    Or,
The best way to do is using Change douments .. Since SAP provided the Change doc mainly for this..
    Tables: CDHDR and CDPOS.
Tcode: SCDO. Vendor Master : KRED is the Change doc object.

  • Order change management

    Hi all,
We have already implemented ECC 6.0 in a manufacturing project based industry. Now customer wants to track production order related changes. So we want to implement OCM.
Can anyboby please tell the detaild steps for implementing the OCM.
As per my knowledge i have already done necessary configurations. But when creating change master through CC01, in theentry screen, Function tab is not appearing. Can anybody tell the reason behind this.
    Srijit.

    Dear Srijit
Order Change Management is applicable for MTO/MTS Scenario,
    First:-
In WorkScheduling View of Material Master (FERT/HALB or Any Defined for Production) you need to maintain "Overall Profile"
Select the Production Order, click on “Procurement element” icon you get another screen select and execute again.
You get an Pop-Up screen. "Determine changes”, “Check changes”, “Change Original Order”.
you see the changes in BOM for Production Order i.e. after COCM.
Then Confirm the Changes in Production Order then New changes will be Active in production Order.
    Refer : http://help.sap.com/printdocu/core/Print46c/en/data/pdf/PPSFC/PPSFC.pdf
Look at  SAP note 436928, which descriped the restrictions from OCM if you are in ECC 6.0

  • WHAT IS ORDER CHANGE MANAGEMENT(OCM)

    HI GURUS,
CAN ANYBODY EXPLAIN ME WHAT IS OCM , HOW TO USE IT.
I UNDERSTAND THAT WITH OCM ANY CHANGES IN PROD ORDER GETS AUTOMATICALLY UPDATED IN MASTER BOM.
IF ANY SCREEN SHOTS ARE THERE IT WILL BE MORE EASY TO UNDERSTAND
HELPFUL ANSWER WILL BE GIVEN FULL MARKS.
    THANKS AND REGARDS,

    Hi,
Order Change Management ( OCM) is used for tracking changes made to the Production / Process Orders. You can see the Change Management records after activating OCM in Order Header Screen--->

  • BOM changes report

    dear all,
I want bom changes data. if we delete or add  any lower level component , if we change qty. it should display old qty as well as new qty and deleted item as well as added item to bom. I have seen CS03.Is there another bapi or function module to trigger bom changes data.
    with regards,

    hi,
For your requirement SAP system should have ECM ( Engineering Change Management )implemented. whenever you change the BOM , new ECM number get generated. So that you can track the changes

  • CS14 without the use of Engineering Change Management

    Hi all,
everybody knows if the date of validity showed in the entering screen of TCODE:  CS14, lets the comparison between BOM at different date, even if the Engineering Change Management isn't implemented for a plant?!
    TKS
    Valentina

If you don't use ECM then the change log is not such detailed and the validity dates will be firmed for one BOM item, so it may hard to compare the BOM on certain date without the ECM.

  • Difference  Between Order Change Management & Engineering change Management

    Dear,
What is the Difference  Between Order Change Management & Engineering change Management ?

    Hi,
ECM will help for Master data changes management.
OCM will help to manage changes in Transaction Data like Production Orders.
In brief, you have to first Create Change Number(part of ECM activity).then using that Change number, Master data(like BOM, Routing etc) has to be modified.
Then through OCM affected Transaction Data(like Production Orders) for each change number to be Processed.

  • How to CIF enterprise Change Management ECM, from ECC to APO

    Dear All.
I am facing problems during CIF process for ECM (Enterprise Change Management) from ECC to APO.
Every change into Material Master, BOM, etc, we must to create one Change Number (CC01) and link with the master data that we are changing.
But when we are changing the BOM status to 02 - Inactive for a specific period, and then transport this information from ECC to APO using Core Interface, into APO the BOM, in this case PPDS, will be changed for the Whole Period. It means that the PPDS will be set as Inactive into APO being set to become inactive in the future on ECC.
    Thank you all.

Somebody knows where I can found information regarding Core Interface for ECM (Enterprise Change Management).
    Thank you all.
