BOM Validity-ECM

Hi Gurus,
How to configure BOM validity from to to date ?
Before posing this question, I have gone through the threads in SDN.
As said, I tried to create BOM with ECM. Valid till date is not changing.
BOM-1 valid from 01.01.2008 to 31.12.9999 with ECM No
BOM-2 valid from 01.07.2008 to 31.12.9999 with ECM No
As per the configuration, BOM-1 must be valid till 30.06.2008 and in display mode dates must be 01.01.2008 to 30.06.2008.
regards
Ram Kumar

Hi Ram,
This is not possible in Standard SAP.
Eevry time the Vaild to will be 31.12.9999 (this is system setting).
This is valid if you use ECM or Not.
But, will ECM you can control this..
With Revision level concept you can control the BOM explosion also..

  • BOM Validity Using ECM

    Hello All,
    We are currently reviewing the ECM functionality to assistn in BOM validity maintenance.  I have made the necessary changes in SPRO to activate this functionality.  My initial testing utilizing the Change Master and associating it with the BOM works fine.  However, the question I had was more around having to make retroactive changes.  I noticed that the system using the Entered or Created date from the transaction to determine the BOM validity.  Is there anyway to influence the BOM validiy to look at document dateof the transaction instead of entered date?  Has anyone run into this type of issue before?
    Thanks for your help.

    Dear Sir,
    That is what I have done for a material.
    Apart from making Routing again after deleting the BOM, do I need to take care of any other thing?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Rohit.

    Hi Krishna,
    You can use change numbers to change independent (recipe) formula in the PLM-Recipe Management.
    The object formula is assigned to the object type specification (type 60 of the change management).
    For the object type specification the use of the object management record is not supported in the SAP standard.
    Only the change documents are available.

  • BOM validity by order batch (pharmacy)

    Dear PP Gurus,
    Currently we are implementing PP-PI in pharmacy.
    There is one requirement that i think it is impossible in PP-PI
    but maybe you can give me some idea about this.
    My client want the BOM validity is by batch.
    The change active is not by date but by batch
    for example
    this change of BOM is valid start from batch D000600
    prior to D000600 still used old BOM
    is it possible??
    best regards,
    Freddy Ha

    Hi Katti and Adler,
    As we use strategy 40 we will user planned independent requirement.
    in some point you are right Mr Katti (fo your command : it doesn't make any sense),
    when we create planning we do not state the batch.
    So MRP will run without clue which batch is it....
    After production order created then batch is created.
    I will look into parameter effective for BOM as Mr.Adler stated.
    Parameter activity will only works with MTO strategy or Production by Lot only.
    When we create SO for MTO / create lot for production then system will ask the batch.
    So MRP will run according parameter activity from SO / from Lot.
    Thanx once again for help.
    Good day.
    Best regards,

  • BOM "valid from date" in transaction CSKB

    The business process is like this -
    1. We create sales order ( VA01)
    2. In sales order, we enter configurable materials as items.
    3. Then we freeze/change the BOM for sales order and line item through t-code CSKB.
    The problem is in CSKB, "Valid from date" of order BOM components is defaulted using the "required delivery date" in Sales Order. We want to default current date (system date) as the "valid from date". Please suggest how it can be done.
    Regards,
    Bijay

    Shailesh,
    While creating the BOM have you used the change number ...? if yes then display that change number and check wheather do you have any alternative date mention in it.
    check validity date of change number as well as BOM validity.
    another reason can be you need to apply SAP note 1278790.

    Hope it helps you.

  • BOM validity period

    Hi friends
           can we restrict the BOM validity period. ex: particular BOM validity should be from 23.06.2008 to 29.06.2008.
    warm regards
    ssp

    Hi
    You can restrict the BOM validity using change number but the valid to date is always assigned as 12/31/9999.  I do not know what is the real business requirement. Do you have valid BOM after 29/06/2008 which is valid to another validity period.
    follow this process if it works for you.
    Create a change number with valid from date 23.06.2208.
    Make the changes in BOM using this change number , BOM will be changed with valid from date 23.06.2008 and valid to date 31/12/9999.
    if you have new bom from 30.06.2008, create a new change number with valid from data 30.06.2008 .previous BOM will be valid till 29.06.2008.
    Thanks

  • BOM Validity

    Hi All
    Is it possible to change the validity dates of the BOM ?
    As, when I tried to change the "valid from" date of BOM using CS02, SAP doesn't allow me to do so.
    The columns "Valid to" and "Valid from" are greyed out.
    Can it be done as I want to change the "valid to" date from 31.12.9999 to tomorrow's date.
    Are there some SPRO settings to be changed ?
    Thanks in advance !!!
    Vineet

    Hi
    As per my knowledge, the Requirement can only mapped using ECM (Engineering Change Management).
    1) Follow the link for the steps to configure ECM
    [ECM|http://www.sap-img.com/pp007.htm]
    2) Create Change no in CC01 and use the change no in CS01/CS02

  • BOM Validation date

    Hi All,
        In BOM creation, the validity of all the component are from current date to the max. of 31.12.9999 but I want to have
    1. Specific Duration for Compenent of a BOM and
    2. Specific Duration for that BOM
    Can it be possible?
    Sekhar

    Dear Mr.Sekhar,
    1.As far I know I dont think we can fix the Valid to Date for a BOM.
    2.Even Using ECM you can not fix the Valid To Date for a BOM.
    3.Using with or without ECM you can change the Valid From date of a BOM while
    creation itself .
    4.If you do so then the BOM will be valid only from the date which you entered
    while creation.
    5.ECM is used only to track the Changes that happened for BOM items along
    with the date effectivity.BOM history can be obtained.

  • Changes visible in BOM although ECM not released yet

    Hi,
    I have a BOM which has been updated together with a change number. The change number still has status "in work" and not released.
    When I go to CS03, with all dates removed on the selection screen, I see the changes in there with the change number. That is ok with me, because then I expect to also see future changes in the BOM.
    But when I go into CS03, with today's date in both date fields on the selection screen, I expect to see the old version of the BOM which should still be valid until the ECM is released. Not the changes done by this specific ECM. CS03 shows the BOM with the changes already in, and I think that is not correct. Why should the changes show when the ECM is not released?
    Is this behaviour SAP standard or could there be a mistake in the customizing of the ECM status?
    Any hint is useful.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    Though the status is set as "in work", the changes will be effected based on the valid from date maintained in change master CC01. You can practise putting a imaginary future date like 02.10.3333 on the valid from date in change master and when the change to be released change the valid from date as required.
    You can also go through alternate date assignment in BOM.

  • Table to find BOM valid-till-date

    Hi Friends,
      I have to check the vality of BOM components,  through transaction CS03 i could able to see the Valid-till-date and i need to check the same in my code.
    Looked into following tables, thre is a field valid-from-date(DATUV) but i'm not getting field Valied-to-date(DATUB).
    MAST Material to BOM Link
    EQST Equipment to BOM Link
    STAS BOMs header
    STKO BOM header
    STPN BOM follow-Up control
    STPO BOM item
    STPU BOM sub-item
    STST Standard BOM link
    STVB Bills of material - Serialisation of posting
    STZU Permanent BOM data
    Can any one please help me.
    Thanks in advance.
    /Kiran

    Hi kiran,
    I think the Valid-to-date is in table AEEF-DATE_HI which can be linked with the BOM Header table STKO by field AENNR. Try this.
    Otherwise you can also get the Date using the FM CS_BOM_EXPLOSION....
    Use it as follows;
    CALL FUNCTION 'CS_BOM_EXPLOSION'
    EXPORTING
    AUMNG = 0
    CAPID = ' '
    DATUV = DATVAL "valid-from date
    EHNDL = '1'
    MKTLS = 'X'
    MEHRS = 'X'
    MMORY = '1'
    MTNRV = MATNR
    STLAL = LAL "like mast-stlal default '1'
    STLAN = LAN "like mast-stlan default '2'
    SVWVO = 'X'
    VRSVO = 'X'
    WERKS = WERKS
    mmaps = 'X'
    IMPORTING
    TOPMAT = STARTMAT "includes structure CSTMAT
    TABLES
    STBD = TBD "includes structure CSXDOC
    STBE = TBE "includes structure CSXEQUI
    STBK = TBK "includes structure CSXKLA
    STBM = TBM "includes structure CSXMAT
    STBP = TBP "includes structure CSXGEN
    STBT = TBT "includes structure CSXTDL
    EXCEPTIONS
    ALT_NOT_FOUND = 1
    CALL_INVALID = 2
    MISSING_AUTHORIZATION = 3
    NO_BOM_FOUND = 4
    NO_PLANT_DATA = 5
    NO_SUITABLE_BOM_FOUND = 6
    OBJECT_NOT_FOUND = 7
    CONVERSION_ERROR = 8
    OTHERS = 9.
    After the function call you will get the Valid to Date(DATEUB) from table STBP.
    Hope this Helps you...

  • BOM Valid Date

    Hi,
    While creating BOM due to some human error we took wrong valid date.Now i want to change it.
    Please suggest me the T-code or any customization to change the same.
    "I am online"

    Dear Pawar
    This are the basic IMG settings in order to used the engineering change management
    features.
    x refers to a tick.
    First setup the control data in OS54.
    Revision sections
    Fields :-
    Revision level active            x
    Ext. revision level              x
    Higher revision level            x
    Object Management Record sections
    Fields :-
    Object maintenance               x
    Assign alternative date          x
    Overide value/assignment date sections
    Fields :-
    Only with leading change mst.    x
    Setting the Revision level active is to activate the engineering change management for
    material master.  If you do not want the engineering change management for materials,
    remove the tick.
    With a tick in "Higher revision level", the new revision level has to be always higher
    than the old revision.
    Secondly, setup the external number range in OS53.
    If you use the internal number range, then remove the external number range.
    Third, define the status for the change master records in transaction SM30 - V_T419S.
    Change No.     Chg        Date Chg     Dist. Lock      Description
    Status         Poss
      1             x            x             ' '         Active
      2            ' '          ' '            ' '         Inactive
      3            ' '          ' '             x          Locked
    Fourth, define modification parameters for the BOM in OS27.
    Fields :-
    BOM Validty Maint.               x
    EC Management Active             x
    History Requirement             ' '
    Unit Piece                      PC
    The rest of the fields are blank.
    If the History Requirement is tick, every time during creation of the BOM, SAP will
    prompt your for an ECN number as is compulsory.
    Lastly, define fields selection for routing in OP5A.
    PP task lists: initial screen -> Change number -> Transaction code -> Tick Req.
    Setting the Transaction code fields Required indicate that you have make the ECN number ........
    Hope this will help you one of our friends gave me this

  • BOM validity for creation of PO

    hello guys,
    have a question because there is a situation in our plant that there is a production order was started at around 19:52:02 on 01.04.2008, but there where a user change the material BoM of the metreial used in that PO at around 12:23:52 on 01.04.2008, the changes made was the material BOM was set for deletion and ing status inactive. Could this PO was not valid because the material that was used was deleted/inactive already prior to its creation?
    Thanks
    JJ

    So those material component of the finished goods material will be deleted and will not be include in any goods movement? But a PO would still be made for the Finished product/parent material?
    Thanks,
    JJ

  • BOM Validation in Pharma

    Hi guys,
    I am in  the implementation of a third party MES system over SAP system in a pharma client. to day they have paper batch records and these are FDA(USA) Validated. Tomorrow these batch records will be in MES system in electronic format. So my Question is in our business scenario we feed the MEs system with Exploded bom and Master recipe information( Just Standard Phases and  no process instructions). But they say since the feed is coming from SAP, SAP should be FDA(USA) validated. how far is this statement true. Have you ever came across a client whose SAP BOM information is FDA validated. How does this work?

    Hi Deepu,
    Yes, SAP already following the US FDA 21 CFR law, actually as per my knowledge
    with pharma industry, these batch manufacturing records can be uploded through
    the PI sheet and as concern of the US FDA validation for these MES System, these
    can be validated by controlling the access to the specific users and the T-codes
    which will be used to access has to share with US FDA along with the list of
    Users which are going to use it.
    Have you ever came across a client whose SAP BOM information is FDA validated
    Actually its the client responsibilty to vaildate the BOM and not the consultant if there is no Z programe
    Thanks,
    Hrishi

    Valid to is not stored in table.  It is calculated by the system based on valid from date of the changes you do.   You can use standard BAPIs  to fetch the valid to details.
