Bonjour printing broken on one computer

I have a small LAN, partly wired, partly wireless. Up until today, all of the computers (both Macs and PCs, wireless and wired) could print fine to both Bonjour printers (one wired, one shared through an AEBS).
Now, one of the computers (dual 2.0 G5), connected via ethernet, won't print via Bonjour: it insists that the printers have "jobs stopped", and restarting jobs just cycles back into "jobs stopped".
I can print to both printers on this machine if I enter their IP addresses, but it bothers me that Bonjour is busted. I've tried Printer Setup Repair, to no avail: anytime I add either of the Bonjour printers, the same thing happens.
Any advice?

Delete printer, then add it back. Restart the computer.

  • Hp 3510 is printing horizontally from one computer and normally from the other

My printer HP 3510 has been printing horizontally from one computer and normally on another.  Why does this happen and how can I correct the problem?

You try to print portrait, but it comes out landscape.  When you checked that setting, was it at the document level or at the default level?  The document setting overrides the default level setting.
If the document level setting is on Portrait and the document is coming out Landscape, I recommend downloading and running the  HP Print and Scan Doctor for Windows.  Does that help?

  • Printing crashes - on one computer only.

I have a Mac mini set up as a home file server (running OS X, not Server). Attached to it via USB is an Epson Stylus Photo R320. Printer sharing is enabled. There are five other Macs on my home network; an iMac, two MacBook Pros, another mini, and an eMac. All of them (including the server) are on 10.5 with all of the latest updates.
On every computer I can go to the Print & Fax preference panel and add the shared Epson printer. On every computer, printing to this shared printer is as easy as pie -- EXCEPT for the eMac. On the eMac, whenever I go to PRINT from the FILE menu (or hit COMMAND-P, or click the print icon, or whatever), the application I'm trying to print from freezes up for about 30 seconds (complete with the pinwheel of death), then that application crashes. Even something as innocuous as TextEdit. The "Print" window never even appears, and of course nothing is printed.
I can manually launch the spool window on the eMac without incident. Resetting the printing system and reconfiguring the printer doesn't work. There is no exotic software installed on the eMac, nor are there any hacks or anything like that in place. Every computer is on WiFi. I also tried booting from an external hard drive that has only 10.5 on it and get the same results.
The driver version on all of the computers are the same (3.09). The only thing that really sticks out is the eMac is the only PowerPC-based Mac on the network, though I don't see why this would be a problem.
    Any ideas?

I've got a new install of ARD 3.4 where this was happening with some managed Macs, but not all.
After a great deal of testing, I think I may have hit on a solution. May or may not be right (and may or may not apply to your case).
    1. In ARD, get info on the affected Mac.
    2. Click the reporting tab.
    3. Click the Edit button, Use Default Policy, and Done.
    4. Close the Info window.
    5. Now in All Computers, select the client and hit Delete.
    6. Go back to the Scanner, locate the client, and add-it back by doing an Observe.
    7. Close the Observe window.
At this point, if you do a report on that Mac, it may take a minute, but the report will be collected & show up. After the first time, it will be instantaneous.

  • Moving a print project from one computer to another

Why does Apple not design the software where you could work on a project on Multiple apple devices.  You would think with the Cloud the database could reside the and then work on it from any mac you own.
Please tell me I am wrong and you can move a print project (Book , Calendar) from one Mac to another without moving a whole library.

    What App is it?
If iPhoto I thought that was what iCloud was all about???

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500- prints wirelessly from one computer in network but not the other

I can print wirelessly from my laptop, but not my desktop. The printer shows on the list, checked as the default, and READY, but document does not seem to find its way there. It never shows up in the print queue.

Download and run this utility.  It should indicate what is wrong.

  • Multiple bonjour names for one computer

Is it possible to assign multiple Bonjour (.local) names to one computer? How?
For example, I'd like to give one computer (with one network interface) the names web1.local, web2.local, web3.local so I can set up Apache virtual hosts by name.

    Hi Honza,
Is it possible that you are doing something incorrect on localize your app in the last update? You can check with this official MSDN code sample about Globalization app.
    https://code.msdn.microsoft.com/windowsapps/Globalization-Sample-ef20151f.
    >> I reserved the new name from the Visual Studio but when I want to add this name in submission it says the name isn't available.
How do you reserve app name from visual studio? As I know, you need to reserve the name in dashboard as the following link. You reserve the app name when you success in completing the first step of submitting app.

  • Printing only works from one computer

I have an Epson Stylus C60 connected to the USB port on my Airport Extreme. There are two computers on the network, a PowerBook G4 and a MacBook Pro. Both computers connect to the network very reliably and have internet access. The problem is that the MBP cannot print to the connected printer. The G4 has always printed fine.
The MBP sees the printer as a Bonjour printer, and I can add it to the printer list without problem. When I try to print, I get a message in the print queue that there is a communications error with the printer.
In the airport configuration window, the printer is recognized and remote printing is enabled. Any idea why printing only works from the G4?

Thanks for your help. Yes, the driver is a universal binary and the printer works great when plugged directly into the computer. I just can't figure out why it won't work over the airport.
    Any other ideas?

  • Can't print from (only) one networked computer

We have multiple desktops and laptops in our home network. We print to a wireless-network-connected HP Photosmart C7280 All-in-one printer. We are able to print from multiple computers to the printer but from one laptop we cannot. I ran the HP Print and Scan Doctor on the problem laptop; it finds the printer but when it tries to connect it says the printer is not connected. However on two other machines (both desktops as it happens) I can connect and print no problem. The problem laptop is running Windows 7.  Any thoughts on why the one laptop won't connect to the networked printer? (That laptop is connecting to the wireless network per se with no problem; I downloaded an updated Print and Scan Doctor from HP Support for example.)

    Hello Swegnson.
I understand your concerns using your Photosmart C7280. Please follow these steps to connect your printer on your Windows 7 computer:
    1) Go into your Devices and Printers, right click on your printer, and select remove device
    2) Next, Click on your Start Menu
    3) Click on the HP folder
    4) Click on the Photosmart C7280
    5) Click on add a device, then add a new printer
    6) Click on wireless and follow the instructions
(Make sure you turn off any Firewalls or Anti-Virus running on your computer.)
Please let me know at this point, if your printer is unable to connect wireless.
Once you have your printer connected, please follow this HP document on Printer Does Not Maintain Wireless Connection.
Please inform me your troubleshooting steps.
Looking forward to hear from you.

  • One computer on network will not print.

I am using a HP LasterJet P2055dn network printer on a small office network that has 3 computers on it. All computer are wired. For some reason I can not get one of the printers to print. It is using XP. I have used all the HP utilities to try and fix the problem and they all say it should be working fine. Any suggestions?

OK, are your firewalls disabled (Windows & Securty Program)?
If so, you may want to delete the printer and then re-add it in Printers (Start, Printers).  Here is how (these are for XP, Vista 64 will be similar):
Verify that you can browse to the printer's internal web page by its IP address in a browser.
    1. Click "Start" button --> Printers.
    2. Under Printer Tasks, click "Add Printer".
    3. Click "Next" button on the Add Printer Wizard window.
    4. Select "Local printer attached to this computer". Deselect "Automatically detect and install My Plug and play printer". Click "Next".
    5. Under Select a Printer Port option, select "Create a new port" and select "Standard TCP/IP Port" and click "Next" button.
    6. In the "Welcome to the Add Standard TCP/IP printer port wizard" make sure that the printer is turned on and connected to same network that your computer is connected to. Click "Next" button.
    7. Under "Add Standard TCP/IP Printer Port" enter the printer's IP address. Click "Next" then click "Finish".
    8. Now, select HP from the list of manufacturers, select your printer from the list of Printer models and click 'Next' button.
    9. If you can't find your printer, you'll need to find the install CD and use the "Have Disk" option to select one of the hp*.ini files. Alternatively, you can select another HP printer model from the same type.
    10. Add the print spooler name and click "Next".
    11. Click "Next"
    12. Click "Next" and then "Finish"

  • Problem with printing more than one page (ghostscript broken?)

    Hello,
since one of the last package updates I have problems with printing more than one page. The print problems occurs as well with pdf files as well with printing websites. I use an actual KDE system with commercial turboprint printer driver. The first page always prints fine, but all consecutive pages are corrupted.  As from a similar problem some months ago, I assume a broken ghostscript package. I tried to downgrade ghostscript to check that, but I get depency problems:
    root@arch32 dieter]# ls -l /var/cache/pacman/pkg/ghostscript-*
    -rw-r--r-- 1 root root  9906288 21. Mär 2010  /var/cache/pacman/pkg/ghostscript-8.71-3-i686.pkg.tar.xz

    [root@arch32 dieter]# pacman -U /var/cache/pacman/pkg/ghostscript-8.71-3-i686.pkg.tar.xz

Fehler: Konnte den Vorgang (Kann Abhängigkeiten nicht erfüllen) nicht vorbereiten
    :: libspectre: benötigt ghostscript>=9.00
    [root@arch32 dieter]#
Anyone else having printing problems or a solution for my problem?
    Thanks, Dieter

This may not be related but I had a problem printing a pdf today whereby the second page got corrupted. The same pdf had printed fine several months ago. I realised that (long story) for some reason I had switched drivers (HP printer) from hpijs to hpcups. I installed the printer again as a "new" printer using the hpijs driver and it printed properly this time.
So it may be that the bug causes issues with some drivers. You could try an alternative driver for the printer as temporary workaround?

  • "printer is offline" appears on one computer but not the other (both windows 7)

printer is offline" appears on one computer but not the other (both windows 7)

This is pretty common to see when your firewall kicks in and blocks certain communication paths the printer takes.
Here's a list of ports and programs that when allowed through the firewall, will restore communiction.
    Ports to open:
    UDP ports: 427, 161, 139
    TCP ports: 9200, 9220, 9290, 9500
    Programs to allow:
    hpiscnapp.exe
    hpoews01.exe
    hpofxm08.exe
    hposfx08.exe
    hposid01.exe
    hpqkygrp.exe
    hpqste08.exe
    hpqtra08.exe
    hpznui01.exe
    hpzwiz01.exe
SLP_Service (also known as UDP 427)
Have your security software provider walk you through allowing these items through your firewall.
If this does not fix your issue, it is most likely an issue with the driver configuration. Your router may have assisgned the printer a new IP address and this can be changed in the properties of the existing driver.

  • Bonjour broken on one of my machines

One of my machines, bonjour sometimes has problems - ie. I cannot see other bonjour devices on the local network. If I check on another machine, I can see the bonjour devices.
The problem always appears on one machine. Bonjour will work for about a week, then it has problems and I can see bonjour devices from the machine (ie print to a bonjour printer).
Is their anyway to fix this without a reinstall of the OS.
    thanks

I had a similar error. Fixed it by reducing the "Hardware Acceleration" on the "Display Properties" in Windows.
I started by closing Crystal then moving the slider one notch to the left and then opening Crystal.  If the problem persists, repeat the process moving the slider to the left until the problem goes away. On our HP systems, it turned out that the third notch from the left is the magic spot.
I have had to do this on all the machines in our office that have "shared" video RAM. Have not had to do it on machines that have dedicated video RAM.
    Hope this does the trick.

  • Installing more then one HP All in One networked printer on one computer

I want to be able to install more then one networked all-in-one printer on a single computer.
This is need to be able to move from home office with one all-in-one to a client's location
with another all-in-one but a different model.
I have been told in the past that I can connect one via network connection and one via USB
but this is not an acceptable solution because the printers are networked and used buy more then one system
    at a time.
I don't think this is a unique situation for consultants or moble workers.
Is there a way to do this with networked HP all-in-ones printers?

What are the printer models and your operating system.  I am using both the Photosmart 2610 and Officejet 7410 networked here and have additional drivers installed for a K60 that is at another location I occasionally visit.  Typically you would install the most recent driver and install the printer, then run the installer again and specify "Add printer".
