Bootcamp says there is no USB-CD Device installed

Hello,
i dont understand, Bootcamp says that i have to plug in a USB CD-Device to continue (I must install Windows 7 nativly).
But i have one connected. I do this not the first time. I did this bevor with the Same Mac and Same USB-CD-Dive?
Is this a Mavericks Bug?

I have the solution.
For people with the same issue as me i want to tell the reason.
You have to connect an externel DVD-Device plus a USB-Stick.
This is the first time that Apple poped up a window with unclear instructions Apple is human, here is the first prove.

I have a mid-2012 11” Macbook Air and a USB Superdrive. I am trying to use Boot Camp Assistant but it is not letting me proceed. With the Superdrive plugged and Windows 7 (full version) DVD in the drive, I get the message “No USB Drive” – “There is no USB drive connected to the system. Please insert a USB drive to continue.”
I checked using Finder and Go->Computer and there is the Windows 7 installation DVD mounted properly. The Superdrive spins up when I plug it in. I tried both USB ports. I tried re-booting with the Superdrive attached. The laptop is plugged in and there is an internet connection. It is running Mac OS X 10.8.3. I read the Installation and Setup PDF guide and there was no mention of the problem. I searched these forums and found that two other people are/have experienced the same problem, but there is no posted solution.

You are not following the Boot Camp instructions. Did you select the option to read the instructions? When running Boot Camp Assistant you are given the option to download the support software. If this is selected you must connect a usb stick that is correctly formatted per the instructions. At this point in the process you sshould not have your superdrive or Windows dvd connected.

Mac says there is no default application to install shockwave 11

i have been trying to install the new version of the shockwave 11 player for my imac. i have installed it onto my desktop, but now that i double click on it it opens a window telling me that theres no default application specified to open the document. its a pkg file. how am i supposed to install this onto my imac?

Is this an Intel or PPC iMac? If an Intel Mac go here for the Intel version.
Select the .pkg file and press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window. In the Open With section select Installer from the drop down menu then click on the Change All button.

BootCamp Says Only 16GB Free ! Going to Install Windows8 !!!! Helppp

I'm going to install Windows8 via Bootcamp but with more than 64GB of free space
while partitioning Bootcamp shows only 19GB free for MAC and I'm not able to partition
and continue with the installation .

You do not have sufficient free space for a Windows 8 (or 7) installation.

There is no USB drive connected to the system.

I have plugged in the Superdrive to the new iMac 27 that came yesterday.
This comment is being given when I am in bootcamp.
"There is no USB drive connected to the system."
The Superdrive is plugged into a USB Drive and when you place a cd/dvd in the Superdrive the mac picks up that there is a disk in the Superdrive.
How can correct this issue?

Note: I would like to download the latest Windows support software from Apple onto a DVD so then I can install Windows 7 using bootcamp.
I prefer not to us a flash drive.
What is the easiest way to correct this issue?

I use Mac Air, and with a external CD device. When I try to install Window 7, it keep saying that there is no USB device connected when there is.

Unfortunately not all external CD drives work the same, have you tried another cable or used another slot?
Have you tried using a USB flash drive? You should have an option now in Boot Camp Assistant to install the W7 installer onto a USB drive as well as the Boot Camp drivers.

My lap top wont import pictures from auto play. it keeps saying there is a file error and a device connected to the computer isnt working properly. i have tried going into the internal storage to copy and paste the pictures but this wont work either.

I have decided to dedicate this thread to the wonderful errors of Lion OSX. Each time I find a huge problem with Lion I will make note of it here.
Today I discovered a new treasure of doggie poop in Lion. No Save As......
I repeat. No Save As. In text editor I couldn't save the file with a new extension. I finally accomplished this oh so majorly difficult task (because we all know how difficult it should be to save a file with a new extension) by pressing duplicate and then saving a copy of the file with a new extension. Yet then I had to delete the first copy and send it to trash. And of course then I have to secure empty trash because if I have to do this the rest of my mac's life I will be taking up a quarter of percentage of space with duplicate files. So this is the real reason they got rid of Save As: so that it would garble up some extra GB on the ole hard disk.
So about 20 minutes of my time were wasted while doing my homework and studying for an exam because I had to look up "how to save a file with a new extension in mac Lion" and then wasted time sitting here and ranting on this forum until someone over at Apple wakes up from their OSX-coma.
are you freaking kidding me Apple? I mean REALLY?!!!! who the heck designed this?!!! I want to know. I want his or her name and I want to sit down with them and have a long chat. and then I'd probably splash cold water on their face to wake them up.
I am starting to believe that Apple is Satan.

Any ideas how to sort this out? hope i haven't majorly screwed it up. thanks.

Sorted it out. Cant Charge/connect ipod touch. Get an error saying "One of the USB devices attached to your computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it" . HELP.

Ok . so my ipod touch 2G , used to be all ok . its just yesterday i went to charge my ipod it wouldnt do anything . Then after being plugged in for a bit , i got pop up saying " "One of the USB devices attached to your computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it" .

Uninstall your USB drivers in your computer & reinstall.
contact your pc manufacturer for the steps.

- Try restoring the iPod, first from backup and then try to factory settings/new iPod to rule out a software problem.
- Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Look for abnormalities like bent or corroded contacts, foreign material and broken or cracked plastic.
- Could you have damaged something when you took the iPod apart and replaced the Home button?

Try putting it into "Disk Mode" http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93651
Then with it in this mode connect it to the PC and try to run the latest iPod updater to do a restore and update software if you have the option. the latest iPod updater is 2006-03-23 and can be downloaded here http://www.apple.com/ipod/download/

As I said above, some of the new lightning cables have been known to be causing problems for some users. Have it replaced if at all possible by bringing it into your local Apple Store's Genius Bar.

My A'Extreme sometimes won't connect to my MacBook Pro even if I have a green light on the device . I can unplug the ethernet cable and reconnect and it will work fine. all diagnostics say there is nothing wrong. Any ideas ?

This is more about your modem then anything. Sometimes you'll need to unplug and plug back in your modem. Consider it a glitch from the ISP or just the modem in general.
when I need to turn something off then on I try the modem first. This when I'm not doing any ware and tare to the device.
